Nokia Shortcuts disappeared....?

Hiya everyone!
I've had this phone for just over a month and now it's hating me! Here's what happened, I downloaded some themes and installed them, resulting into my phone's battery going flat. Oh well. Then I went and charged it up when I went to bed. This morning I woke up and see 'Nokia' on the screen. Hmm... Then I tried to switch it off by the power button. The horror! It wouldnt' turn off, so I had to take the battery out. Again, it wouldn't start up normally. So I took the memory card and start it up, then reinserted the memory card when it was starting up. I know this is not a great idea but it's only way I know on how to start it up and not being stuck on Nokia screen.
Then, I noticed the icons on the home screen (contract, messaging, web and menu) have disappeared from the top. I tested by changing it to contacts and they appeared so I changed back to the shortcuts, again they disappeared. I've tried restarting the phone but again, stuck on Nokia screen. Humph.
So, I need some help, please. How can I fix this? I've already done a back up of the phone and memory card. Just in case. I'm hoping there are ways to resolve this without doing a factory reset...

well guys, i have it resolved!!!!!! hahahaha
basically, just download a software named HelloOX2.0 to unlock ur phone and to have the superior power to manage ur handset.(many files are hidden without this)
after u installed this, there would be a little orange oxford up there among applications,
run it
then get ur phone unlocked....
(u should also run the Modo within the process (when u run the application or when u install it, i forget.) otherwise u wont be able to see the following file. if u have any application like "x-plore"/" file power", then u can use those instead.)
after u run the helloox2.0, there will be another appl named "rompatcher" appear in applications
run it
u will see two items inside
options--patch--auto
auto both of them
restart the phone
next step is most important one
after u have done all things above
run the Modo(which located in the main menu as name--leftup)--delete this little thing--c:\private\10202BE9\persists\10275102.cre
resart ur phone and u got it!the reason why we r having this error is still unknown....could be the reason that we have run a thing which needs large memery space....could be.

Created Keyboard Shortcut Disappears

I added a "command+s" keyboard shortcut for the Compress option under File/Finder via System Preferences.
Every now and then the shortcut disappears from the right of the "Compress" option in the Finder. It seems that the only way to bring it back is to select the shortcut I created under Keyboard Shortcut/System Preferences.
Any ideas why the shortcut I created is being flaky?

I tried creating a few different key combos with my current account and also created a new user account and did the same procedure. No difference.
If I am in Finder, the shortcut will appear. But once I select an item to be compressed from the desktop or any other internal and external hard drive, regardless of the location, the short cut disappears.
Any idea why this is happening?

IDisk shortcuts disappear from Finder's Places

I've been having this problem regularly with Snow Leopard. I like to make shortcuts from my iDisk into the Places section of Finder so I can access the folders quickly. Works flawlessly in 10.5. In 10.6 they work but they always start disappearing whenever I shut down or reboot. If I leave the computer running, everything remains as it should. When I reboot or shut down, a few of my links will disappear. I make no changes to the folders and the exact same entries continue to remain in 10.5 but in 10.6 they disappear.
I mentioned this to Apple support once and I was basically accused of imagining the problem or doing something else to cause it but I know the problem is not user error.
Anyone else have anything similar happen? Suggestions?

if the problem is with some preferences in your home directory it will survive a reinstall of SL as the reinstall never touches the home directory.
I don't have mobileme but I don't think it actually syncs your sidebar settings.
but if you want to eliminate that possibility try resetting your mobileme sync data

Keyboard shortcuts disappears after ios8 update

I have a 5s the shortcuts were not there after update ios8. I restarted my phone, they show up but only stay for a few minutes. If I restart my phone, they are there again, only to disappear again after a few minutes.

Usually when I move the curser to the top of the page I get shortcuts, File, History etc, etc,

IPhone 4s keyboard shortcuts disappeared but still work ?

I use both french and English keyboards as I switch a lot. I've disabled auto-correction but not Spell check. I've created many useful keyboard shortcuts which now have disappeared from the shortcut list in the keyboard menu but they all still work when I type them in. I can add a new shortcut which then also works but the shortcut list still remains empty. Not the end of the world but still a weird glitch.

The same thing happened to me and the Genius bar did a reset yesterday. The problem appear fixed... Until today. Back to the Genius bar this afternoon. I'm not going to let them do another reset this time if that's the only thing they have to offer.
Trial 2:
The Apple store tried all different things without success, so they gave me a new iPhone. They restored everything back via iCloud onto the new phone. Checked the shortcuts--the problem still exists! Blank.
Now I'm supposed to go back for a full hour appt so they can manually install everything onto my phone from my saved laptop. I may not do that and just live without the shortcuts until an update is available.
They said they've never encountered this problem before, but will submit it as a case to Apple.
My suggestion is that everyone having this issue to report it to a Genius Bar and make sure they submit it to Apple. Hopefully then Apple will fix this glitch on the next software update.

Desktop shortcut disappears

JWS in JRE 1.6u24 installed on users' machines has this bug which doesnt update/downlaod the modified JNLP and all of the new jar files. Here is the discussion on coderanch:

Now to solve this problem we have decided to upgrade the JREs on users' machines to 1.6u33. However when I install it, it causes the apps' shortcut to disappear which is unacceptable to the users.
Why is this happening?

However, JNLP allows using other jnlp as extension and so the main jnlp does not need to be modified involving that the shortcut will continue to work.

those JNLPs cain contains JAR definition and Native livrary as well.
But be careful, if your application can work in standalone mode too such structure could be not run anymore... another bug appeared within one of the so numerous jre upgrading. Maybe this one has been fixed.
You have to test.
Once installed, turn off your Internet access, launch the application, quit, launch it again.. If that still works that means this issue has been fixed otherwise, your application will not work anymore until the next connection to internet; that will involve the reloading of some jars...

Exposé active screen corners - keyboard shortcuts disappear

I use e.g. the command key shortcut for activating the active screen corners (in order to avoid that they are activated when the mouse pointer is accidentally placed in one of the screen corners). It works fine and ...then one day the command key setting disappears from the settings. The active screen corners do continue to work, but simply by moving the pointer to a corner without pressing the command key. Very frustrating. What's wrong?

Simply go into System Preferences > Expose & Spaces.
Select the dropdown for the appropriate corner, press the keys you want (cmd alt ctrl & shift are possible.)
Then select the action and let go.

ITune and App Store Shortcuts disappeared from phone's home page

I received my iphone 4 a few days ago and yesterday I noticed both the iTunes and App store shortcut have disappeared from my phones home screen. It seemed to coincide (not completley sure about this) with when I connected to my companies MS exchange server. How do I get these two items back?

I don't have an answer for this, yet am experiencing the same trouble. When activating my corporate email account on my iPhone via MS Exchange, the Safari Web Browser & Camera icons disappear from the home screen and can not be accessed or used. I have tried this multiple times and this issue certainly coincide's with my MS Exchange account either activated (icons disappear) or deactivated (icons appear as normal). My only thoughts are the MS Exchange server sends commands (set fourth by the MS Exchange account owner's IT security administrator) to the iPhone which disable these features.

Custom keyboard shortcuts disappearing; more frequent in 10.4.7

I assign a good deal of keyboard shortcuts through the Keyboard preference pane. Very handy shortcuts like 'Zoom' to CommandShiftW, reassigning switch tab in Camino, and an iTunes 'Shuffle' shortcut to Command+S.
This is great, but periodically these shortcuts are lost when I return to the pref pane to add another shortcut. Once I load it up, none of my shortcuts appear, as if I had hit the 'Restore Defaults' button. It's hard to reproduce, but it's definitely very annoying, and has been occuring more often after I've updated to 10.4.7.
I know that these shortcuts are kept in .GlobalPreferences.plist and in the .plists of the respective applications, but I don't think I should have to backup these files and then overwrite to restore my settings.
Again, I don't see any definite triggers for this, but it does happen somewhat frequently. Does anybody else have this problem? Or perhaps some suggestions?

I don't know. It would depend on what the problem actually is and on the capabilities of the utilities you have. As long as you don't use something that's not appropriate for your system, you can try it. There is no way for me to know whether you're going to be able to solve the problem by using a particular utility.

make copies of installed programs which came with my
computer but are not on the restore disks.
I don't understand. If they came with your computer, you should be able to reinstall them using the Mac OS X Install disks. The Install disks that came with my iMac G5 certainly include AppleWorks.
You can verify this by proceeding to reinstall the system without actually doing all the steps, just those necessary to be able to customize the installation and check that all the applications that came with your computer appear there as an option, then cancel the installation.

Well, not sure what you mean by "documents", but if you're going to erase the disk, you should backup your entire home folder first, not just the documents. You're going to lose all your mail in particular if you don't backup the ~/Library/Mail folder before erasing the disk.

In Design / Mac OS 10.8 / using External RAID / shortcuts disappear

Nokia E72 disappearing emails from outlook email a...

On my E72 i have my ntlworld.com (outlook express email account), my yahoo and googlemail account.
The yahoo and googlemail work fine and the inbox,sent etc emails are as they should be and stay on the phone and on my PC at home when i log in......
BUT
on my outlook account when i read the emails on my phone they disappear from the inbox (and phone) and are not there when i check on outlook express at home?????
when i first got the E72 it worked fine and emails i looked at on my phone remained on the phone and were at home on outlook express still????
i havent done anything different???
Very frustrating as i use this address currently to receive wedding RSVP's and they are disappearing???!!!!!!!
I cannot beleive i am the only one suffering this.

I use an E72 to access my emails amd have the same problem. My inbox empties as soon as I try to open an email (especially if it has an attachment).
I can still pick up my emails in Microsoft Outlook because Virgin will let you prefix my user name with 'recent:'. this allows emails to be downloaded on different machines even if they have been downloaded before. When you first make the necessary change, your email client will download all emails on the server but after that only new emails will download.
Presently, I can download the same emails to my Desktop as well as my Laptop but still have a problem with my E72.
Can anybody out there suggest a fix?

FaceTime shortcut disappeared

My FT shortcut was accidentally deleted from my iPhone, how do I get it back?

I have yahoo toolbar installed. I tried to clean out some cookies and then my icons (shortcuts) disappeared on the yahoo toolbar. It will not let me open them. How do I restore them?

There is a "wheel" next to the search bar on yahoo toolbar. Clicking on it usually opens up the icons (such as Facebook, yahoo mail, YouTube, etc). But it no longer opens up any of them.
