Your link goes to an error page, not a file showing your prooblem, so it's not easy to troubleshoot your problem. And I'm not sure there's anybody here called Quigley.

When I try to install the Software Updater for the first time to update my Nokia 6500c phone, I receive the following error message about 57% during the install process. I checked my permission keys in the registry, and they seem to have all the correct Admin permission.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
It looks like you do not have access to the registry key mentioned i.e. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run\Optional Components\IMAIL.
This might be due to the fact that you may not be added to the Administrators group or the registry key has been denied access explicitly to a group that you may be part of.
People in my network setup were facing the same issue, and we fixed the same using Microsoft's "subinacl" tool. You can follow the below mentioned steps to rectify your issue as well:
1. Download Microsoft's SubinACL tool from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e8ba3e56-d8fe -4a91-93cf-ed6985e3927b&displaylang=en
2. Install the same by double clicking on the "subinacl.msi" just downloaded.
3. Open Command Prompt window through the Run Dialog Box (Start -> Run and type "cmd" and click OK)
4. In the Command Prompt window, type in the following commands:
i. cd /d "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Resource Kits\Tools" (Hit Enter)
ii. subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Opti onalComponents /grant=administrators=f /grant=SYSTEM=f /grant=USERS=f /grant="Creator Owner"=f (Hit Enter)
You should see some processes happening on your screen. After the process ends, retry the update operation you were originally trying to perform. Hopefully, it should succeed now.

Nokia Software Updater - Error 1720

Hi, I would be very grateful if anyone could help with the following problem:
I have downloaded Nokia PC Suite - this works fine..
When I try to download Nokia Software Updater, I receive the following error:
"Error 1720: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Custom action Kill_process error -2147217407, : Line 5, Column 1, "
Could anyone please advise what I can do. (I am not very technical - so any basic advice would be appreciated!)

If you experience behavior such as application errors or scripts that used to work are no longer working, you may have a corrupted WMI repository. To fix a corrupted WMI repository, you have to reinstall WMI. Follow these steps:
For Windows XP Service Pack 2
Click Start, Run and type the following command:
rundll32 wbemupgd, UpgradeRepository
This command is used to detect and repair a corrupted WMI Repository. The results are stored in the setup.log (%windir%\system32\wbem\logs\setup.log) file.

Nokia Software Updater Error 1772 on Vista

I have installed NSU version 1 from a CD but it insists that I download the latest version from the website. I then proceed to downloaded the latest version, run as administrator, then it crashes giving Error 1772.

I know it's been a while, but I found another way to solve the annoying "configuration error" and I'd leave it here for someone else. Nokia tells you to turn off the Internet File Sharing in the FAQ of the NSU. Here it didn't work. So I decided if it is a network problem than I'd turn off the ICS. It worked and I didn't have to turn off any of my security software (firewall and antivirus). So.
Start menu > Execute (or use the Search box in the start menu of Windows Vista) > Services > Find ICS in the list of services > Right mouse > Stop. Now NSU will find the new firmware.
Please turn on the ICS again after you finish the update.

Nokia x update error....

I downloaded update 1.2 and installed but the platform is still 11.1.1 so when I checked for update(setting> about phone> system update) it says you are up-to-date but the platform is 11.1.1... so please help me out to install update...
I even have 119mb ziped Rm980 1.2 in memory card I tried to install form recovery tool then it says install aborted....
So how can I get platform 1.2? ? ?

Nokia Software updater 1.4.98 launching error

Anyone knows about this Nokia Software Updater error?
When I tried Ver 1.4.98 after sucessful installation, I get the following error and closes the Nokia Software Updater launch screen;
"Missing Software Components
Critical software components are missing.
Please reinstall."

Hi, i've just downloaded the new nokia software updater v.1.4.70en but while im trying to install it shows me an error saying :
" Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Tss\Communication API\cmn_usbdcm.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel" and another " Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Tss\Communication API\dtl.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147220473. Contact your support personnel.".
I put ok and it continues the installation and then it finish.
But the problem is that if i go to the nokia software updater it does not find my phone! Im working on my windows xp sp2 laptop. I also tried on my windows vista laptop and it gave me the same errors! I have no firewalls or antiviruses to block anything! if somebody can help me i would be very gratfull!

I have just encountered the same/similar problem and spent an age trying to find a solution both here and through Google with no success. The good news is that after a bit of trial & error I have managed to resolve the issue with a very simple workaround
When installing NSU, continue through the installation until presented with the error message.
Here, grab a pen and paper and note down the full path of the .DLL causing the problem.
Now continue to install (ignoring the error) by clicking on the right arrow.
Once insallation is complete, open the start menu and select 'Run'
Here you need to type "regsvr32" (without quotation marks) followed by a space then the full path of the file you have noted from the error message. (Note - the path should be in quotation marks). As an example, below is exactly what I typed to resolve my issue
regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\Tss\ProductApiLoader\ta_productapiloader.dll"
Now open NSU and update your handset.
Good luck and remember to feed back your results on this thread for the benefit of others.

Are you only getting the error message when you try to install those two applications? How about when you try to install other applications? What connection are you using, by the way? If data connection, you can try to switch to WiFi.
If above wouldn't help, you can try to download and install the applications using Nokia Suite. If this would fail still, you may consider re-installing the software of your device.

The Nokia web site says 12.0.013 is the latest available firmware for product code 0547686. However, Nokia Software Updater says that my current firmware (11.0.26) is the latest available version. Is this inconsistency an error in the Nokia web site or an error in the Nokia Software Updater? If it's an error in the updater, is there any way forward to get the update?
I hope the firmware itself undergoes more rigorous quality checks than this update process. It appears Nokia would benefit from advice/consultancy on consistency techniques, eg why have the availability advisor and the software updater driving from different underlying data?!...

Nokia Sofware Updater: install error message ???

I found neither results nor related issues in the forum search. Please help!

I had to manually uninstalled NSU because of an error occured with the uninstaller.
Now I want to reinstall it but I have this message when I run the last downloadable setup:
"The version of Nokia Software Updater already installed on this computer is newer than the one you are trying to install. Installation will not continue."
I don't understand how it finds that an older version is installed because I guess I have deleted all NSU related registry keys and directories. I thought I had deleted all the traces of NSU but I guess I was wrong.
Please, can someone could tell me what I must delete (reg key or file) to NSU install normally as new.

Almost certainly PC Suite 6.83 rel_14.1 is the problem and it's successor is currently beta testing.
Sometimes uninstalling Nokia applications - PC Suite, NSU, Nokia connectivity drivers and cleaning out remnants for a clean install is only solution but this is a bit drastic!
I know some have returned to 6.82 rel_22.0 but if you try to use latest NSU with it, it corrupts it!

Nokia N95 Mobile Search 4.0 update error after fir...

I upgraded to Nokia N95 new firmware i.e. 20.0.015
I got the new Search in the menu and on active standby. But the application does not work. I downloaded it from the nokia mobile search site but during installation it says "Update Error!"
I cannot see how to uninstall the one which came with firmware. In short it is not working. Rest everything is cool with the new update.

Nokia Software Updater installation error!!!!

I'm gettin an error msg while trying to install the nokia software updater... Error message is "Minimum memory requirement is 256 mb" and after pressing ok "Installation operation failed... fatal error during installation". I hav no idea why this is taking place as my c: drive has almost 15 to 16 gb of free memory.... 2. another problem is that it skips steps 3 and 4 while installing just goes directly from step 2 to 5

remove all components of pc suite, drivers etc. clean it out compeltely, reboot your computer and try to reinstall all components again

hi i hav nokia e6 my phone was running good but unfortunately when i connected it for an update of software through my p.c.suite it has started with problems. I Updated my Nokia N8-00 to Nokia Belle and the videos I take are 30fps. Before updating it was at 25fps. When you were running Symbian Anna did you install the Camera update from betalabs? I personally did not install the Camera Update and waited for Nokia Belle and my videos are now at 30fps. Try reinstalling the Nokia Belle update again I hope it will help you people.

im trying to update maps on my n96. but i get an error message. here are my details:

N96: Maps version installed: v3.01 09wk26b02, Map version 0.1.22.103 OpenBitLM 6.2.1.4

Is there any workaround for n96? I tried to download an install nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom.sis file from a link in another thread about similar issue with n95, but it will not install on n96.
