@MrH672
You could always backup device using Nokia Suite on PC then in Options > Software updates - choose to re-install existing software version.
Another option might be to install Store QML Client from Nokia Beta Labs http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/store-qml-client by signing in with Nokia ID & password.

  • App via SMS downloads, but Unable to launch - N8

    Hello To All,
Perhaps this has been covered already, or perhaps I've overlooked this topic on the board, but I could really use some advice.
I purchased an app from the Nokia Store that did not work, and the app developer sent me a completely different app (in lieu of a refund).  The app was sent to me via SMS text.
I clicked on the link in the text (the app was sent as a .sis file - I don't what that is exactly) and it downloaded to my memory card.  I then clicked to install.  I checked 'Installed Apps' and the app is listed there, however, the app is not in 'Applications', so I am unable to launch it.  The developer sent me a different file (also .sis), via SMS, I repeated the steps, but still I am unable to launch the app.
Can anyone advise what I am doing incorrectly?  I typically only download apps via the Nokia Store directly to my device, and this is the first time I've received an app to download via SMS.
Any assistance that can be provided would be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards.

  • Unable to launch app in my second iphone

    Hello,
i had a iphone 3, then i change for a iphone4, but since i use this one i'm unable to launch any app download from the app store?.
i use the same apple ID and computer.
I had try to delete app and then download again but same thing. I launch and it break down returning to the app screen.. any idea? thanks a lot. regards

    Hello dr.c.s.s.vinod,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the App Store on your iPhone.  I found an article with steps I recommend for the issue you described.  The article title refers to the iTunes Store, but the steps are relevant for the App Store as well.
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.

  • ISync unable to launch: iSync manager is unavailable

    Hi guys,
I recently took my computer in to an authorised repairer (MyMac Flinders St., Melbourne Australia) to get my LCD screen replaced under warranty, as it had developed a yellow line running down the right hand side of the screen. Whilst it was in the shop I decided to have a new 1TB hard drive put in, and get the OS updated to Snow Leopard (they loaded it up, I did not get install disc). Since then, I have had massive problems with my computer. The computer sometimes would not turn on, turn off, or simply freeze. I took the computer back in and was told it was a software issue, so they did a format reinstall, and told me the problem was fixed. Within hours of getting the computer home, the same problem occurred. I took it back, was told the same thing, and with the same end result (computer not working). I then took it into the Apple store in Chadstone Melbourne, and was told it was the hard drive that was at fault, and not the software at all. I then tried to get the hard drive replaced through MyMac Flinders St., as I now thought it might be the hard drive that was the problem, and with great reluctance and many minutes on the phone they finally agreed. I had big problems getting this agreed to, because my computer was now out of warranty. So, I guess this is a two part question:
    1. I've got the computer back now, with the new hard drive, and it seemed to be working fine, but i've since discovered my phone was not syncing up correctly, and was told by Apple support to check my iSync.. to which I was greeted with the error message "iSync can't be launched iSync Manager not available" to which Apple support gave me a step by step instruction download to fix:
In the Finder, choose Utilities from the Go menu.
    Open Terminal.
In the Terminal window that opens, type or paste the following command on a single line:
    /System/Library/Frameworks/SyncServices.framework/Versions/A/Resources/resetsync .pl full
    Press Return.
When the operation is complete quit Terminal
The only problem being.. the Apple Terminal was missing. The program logo was there, but unable to launch. I figure my best bet will be to do a reinstall of Snow Leopard, but I am unsure of how to do this without the physical install disc. I have a backup on an external hard drive.
    2. With my computer being now out of AppleCare warranty, I would like to know my options if this problem is unfixable, as my computer was fine before I took it into the authorised repairer, and also in warranty. I don't think I should wear the financial costs of replacing this computer.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
    Steve

the OS updated to Snow Leopard (they loaded it up, I did not get install disc)
You need to get your own proper retail Snow Leopard disc off this repair centre. Snow Leopard is a paid for update so they should've charged you for this upgrade and given you the disk. If not, they've essentially loaded your computer with pirated software - not something anyone should be doing, especially an authorised repairer.
Once you have the Snow Leopard disk you can re-install it over the top of your existing install, which hopefully should fix your issues. If not, you'll need to back up and re-install from scratch.
If the computer itself is now working fine, its just the software on it that needs fixing, so there should be no need to replace the computer.

  • Cannot purchase from Nokia Store

i am unable to buy something online from nokia store using nokia account. how do i go about it? .
Moderator's note: We have provided a subject-related title to help other forum users easily view and respond to this post.

    Hi chakris,
    Welcome to the forum!
What's the model of your device? Do you get any error message when buying an app from the Nokia Store? Are you able to download free apps? Try rebooting the phone. You may also clear the phone's browsing history (depending on the device model) since Store is an internet-based app.
Note that you'll need a stable internet connection when downloading or buying apps. If you're getting any error message related to your Nokia account, you may try using a PC to check it. Just go to account.nokia.com to update your account details, including your credit card number or preferred payment method. If you're using your phone bill to buy apps, you may also contact your operator to check if there's an ongoing issue with their billing service.
Hope to hear feedback from you soon.

  • Unable to launch /open Aperture

I emptied my trash and now unable to launch/open Aperture.
    Please help!!

What do you think was in the trash when you emptied it? And how did you put it there?
What error do you get when you try to open Aperture?
Step 1) open a finder window, navigate to your Applications directory to check if Aperture is still there
If Aperture is missing, re-install it from your disc or the App store.

  • Inability to Access Nokia Store on my E7

I bought an E7 about a month ago and the first thing I did was to upgrade the software.
After doing this, i've been unable to access the nokia store. Error message is ''unable to connect to service''
Even when i access the store via a PC and want to download an app, an sms is sent to my phone. When I click the link, it taakes me to ''download nokia store page''.
the data on my phone is working perfectly.
Pls I need help URGENTLY as my phone is empty without apps.
    Thanks.
    Victor

How about downloading the Nokia store from the page and installing it? Just give it a try... It may be a newer version than the one in your phone. Just compare the version being offered on the page and the one in your phone.

    Hi nokia community,
I've faced issue with nokia store on my nokia 701 smartphone (updated to latest belle version 111.030.0609), which is that whilst browsing store application, if i pull down the notification bar it causes the store application to crash instantly, without any error message.
This is also a problem with nokia battery monitor 3.0.
Is anyone else experienced these problem on their devices?
Please contribute your part and list all bugs and problems on nokia belle devices on nokia community to find solutions asap.

Hey Geekobelle, Welcome to the Nokia Forums!
You may have to free up some phone memory, try keep fewer applications running in the background.
You can also clear your phone cache memory.
If you are still unable to get store to work please attempt a soft reset *#7780#, Remember to create a back up in Nokia just incase however it should simply just put your device back to default settings and not remove any data.
You could also try install Store QML from betalabs, this application usually works very well.
I hope this helps you and you manage to resolve your issue swiftly!

  • Unable to launch firefox above 3.0 after upgrade attempt

I had firefox 3.0. I tried upgrading when 3.2 came out and was unable to launch firefox after that. For each subsequent revision, I tried to upgrade but always had same problem. It does not give any error message. It just refuses to launch. So I just stopped trying to upgrade and kept using the 3.0. I use an EeePC mini notebook with XP home edition. It functions well with the other browser which I don't like to use. Any suggestion?

    Hello Dieter,
We have used fully qualified domain name as the server name and all the services have been activated using SIAC_PUBLISH_ALL_INT.
The notes 808347 and 816973 have already been checked through. The browser prob i have implemented but to no help. Is  there any parameter to be set in the profile parameter maintenance for SNC, I am not sure; its just a wild guess..we are not using portal as of now.

The application runs fine if I uninstall version 5.0 and revert to 1.4.2_06
but I would like it to be compatible with newer versions of java.
P.S. Im not a programer so if you could explain to me in simple terms what Im doing wrong it would be great.
    Thanks in advance

What am I supposed to do? Java Web Start is supposed to be dummy friendly :(
Edit: Problem solved! It seems the file wasn't completely removed and parts of it were corrupted under the java viewer-resources (old cache messing it up). Once removed the problems were gone, so anyone having this problem should check that out :D
