Nokia Suite does not support MMS and calender??

When do we get support for MMS and calendar / tasks?
It has worked in versions prior to Ovi Suite, bad not to get it to work 2012 ;-)
Nokia have posted in other forums that it is planned for several years now.

I run Nokia Suie version 3.5.34.  In this version I see symbols for MMS messages. Unfortunately The content is ZERO after I sync with my phone despite the fact that I have several hundred MMS messages in my Nokia N95 8GB.
I have also tried to establish the Smart Groups. These could in theory find my old MMS messages and sort the based on various criteria. Unfortunately this is useless since the content is still ZERO after I sync with the phone.
I have also had this problem with different Nokia software (Ovi, PC Suite). Now my phone has around 4000 SMS and MMS in it and is slow and useless. I really need a backup and organizing function that works on a PC! When I delete the messages one by one on my mobile it takes me about 45 seconds per message!!! I do not have the time and patience for this **bleep**.
To Nokia: Can you help??

  • Nokia E75 does not support sis files

I've been trying to upgrade the Ovi maps on my E75, because navigation has kept me saying that I need to renew the license. I went to Nokia web site and found out that I need to upgrade Ovi maps in order to get the free navigation. I have a 202.12.01 firmware and I installed it once again when I had unsuccessfully tried to upgrade Ovi maps. I have Ovi maps v3.01 09wk44b01 (MW OpenGL LM MN) and Map version 0.1.24.114 (OpenBitLM 6.22.5). I've deleted all old maps and started to download new ones successfully over Nokia Ovi Suite. I've downloaded Nokia Ovi Suite and followed the instructions for downloading and installing the newest version of Ovi maps application (I suppose it must be newer than the one I have on now, because navigation still wants me to buy license, I guess it must be 3.03 or higher). I've tried it several times from the scratch, just to make sure I did it right. Of course I've also chosen the right E75 phone from the drop down menu and I downloaded the file nokia_maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.2_lm_rom.sis. I double-clicked it and everything seems to be right, but when action on the phone should be required the installation guide says "Nokia E75 does not support sis files". From the sis file name I can only now see that I have this version already installed.
Does this mean I can not use navigation for free on E75?
Can anybody help me ASAP, because I need the navigation evey day very badly?

I'v followed the directions of chanchan05 "Just uninstall the maps app, delete the folder and file I mentioned, then reboot your phone. Open the maps app, and it should recreate the qf file and cities folder in a version compatible to 3.03." on /t5/Maps-Navigation-and-GPS/Wasn-t-it-supposed-to-be-quot-Navigation-on-your-Nokia-Free/m-p/668305#M...
Afterwards I installed the sis file you pointed me to and it worked. The maps on the phone were deleted, so I downloaded new ones over Nokia Ovi Suite and tried the navigation. Unfortunately it stills demands buying the licence for the navigation.
I guess this is because the recommended sis file is v3.01 and not v3.03? Is that right?
    Any other solution?

  • Nokia Suite does NOT backup map favorites. Belle u...

I recently updated my E7-00 from Anna to Belle and lost all my map favorites in the process.
Although I did a full backup of my phone before the update I have since found out that Nokia Suite does not backup map favorites.
The Belle update did NOT make a copy of my map favorites, it wiped them out completely.
Nowhere have I seen that information before.  When I updated to Anna I did not lose my map favorites.
There should be a warning about this before starting the Belle update.
The Belle Update FAQ states that after the update one of the things one can do immediately is access map favorites - NOT!
I have since learned, by searching online, that I am expected to sync my map favorites online with a Nokia server.  I do not want to store my confidential information on someone else's server.  Additionally, I don't pay for data service because it is so expensive here in Canada.  So I would have to connect my phone via USB to my PC.
Nokia Suite backs up my contacts, photos, music, documents, etc.  Why not my map favorites?  In fact I store my music, photos, documents, and even contact information separate from my phone so I don't need Nokia Suite for that.  But how do I copy my GPS coordinates off my phone for backup?
2nd level tech support suggested I recreate them all by browsing the maps on my phone and selecting the locations.  That is so inaccurate, time consuming, and wrong.  Supposedly they have passed my problem onto 3rd level tech support.
Does anyone know if one can import map coordinates into a symbian phone?  I have many of the locations stored in another GPS application on a laptop.  I can export them from there.  That would be a partial solution.
    Thanks.
Note: cross posted under Discussions Main Page > Software > Nokia Suite

I might suggest a Wi-Fi connection for access to the 'net, but let me assume that storing anything on a different server is not an option.  So, what remains...
The least expensive, and simplest, method would be for you to buy any second Nokia phone that runs Nokia Maps.  I use Nokia's Phone Switch technology to transfer all my maps data to a second phone.  I'll have to do it again, so I can give you specific instructions on the "how", but the bottom line is it does work.
As to importing and exporting GPS Coordinates, I learned by accident that you can enter favorites by using GPS coordinates - and can also find the coordinates for something you have already entered.
A free program that I think is invaluable for using Maps on a Nokia, especially the N8, is "LeGPSData2".  I used their older version for years, until the certificate expired and I was unable to upload it to my N8, but the new version is considerably better.  You might find a way to do other things you mentioned with that program - and if not, you might suggest them (import/export) to the program author.
If you are as careful as you suggest you are, don't you have backups that you've already done on your PC?  Have you tried to find your GPS data in those backups?
I can't speak for others, but regardless of what Nokia saiys would or woud not happen during the phone update, I don't "trust" any of it.  I did my own backups two ways, as a complete bacakup on the PC, and as a phone backup on the memory card.  I "think" but can't confirm, that the GPS data was backed up by both of them.
You're right - Nokia should fix the Belle installation script to also backup and re-install the maps data, if there is something wrong, but on my phone it did it all correctly following their instructions (in addition to my other backups, which I never needed).
If I get some free time, I'll see if I can get the import/export to work using Maps and LeGPSData2.  It would be nice to do this to one location, multiple locations, or all locations.  It would be nice to send this data to another phone directly, or to save it as a file.

  • HELP - PC Suite does not support the connected pho...

After trying numerous times now I cannot get my question to you via your website. In utter frustration I am posting my problem here.
    My problem is as follows
When I connect my phone via cable to my laptop I get the following error message. 'PC Suite does not support the connected phone. Install a correct version of PC Suite and try again'. I have already uninstalled the version that previously worked fine and downloaded the version recommended by your website which is 6.80.22. This is actually the version I already had which previously did work. I amd still getting the same error message despite uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times. And when I plug my phone into my partners computer it works fine. He has the same operating system and version of PC Suite. I am using Windows XP Home Service Pack. I have a Nokia 6131

Thanks for the descriptive posting, unfortunately there are still many things that can be wrong.
You should try the things that are suggested here in many places: go to control panel - add/remove programs and select first Nokia PC Connectivity Solution and run a repair to it by selecting change - repair. Then same thing for Nokia PC Suite, run a repair to it.
    Then boot PC.
Then check the PC Suite manage connections icon to make sure that the DKU-2, CA-53 USB connection is activated.

  • Nokia Suite does not see saved messages

Hi! I transferred a part of the messages in my Nokia 6303 to phone' s folder Saved Messages, and since then the troubles began.
    1. I can not move any sms out of the Saved Messages folder, for example, it is not possible to send them back to Inbox folder or any place else.
    2. Nokia Suite does not see some of those saved messages- they appear as empty boxes there, despite I can read them on my phone.
Can I restore all messages downloaded to Nokia Suite, making them readable?
How can I move the sms from Saved Messages folder on my phone?
Can I tranfer sms from Saved Messages folder of my Nokia 6303 to another phone (even not Nokia)?

    Hi Nicksimper,
Welcome to the Nokia Discussion boards!
First could you do a soft reset on your phone by entering *#7780# into your phone’s keypad. The default password when prompted is 12345. This reset will NOT erase any data, but revert settings back to original. Also, ensure you have the latest firmware by visiting this page and the latest version of PC Suite by following this link here.
The following link provides extensive information for managing your messages on Nokia devices using Nokia PC suite.
In order for you to move messages out of the “Saved messages” folder, you will have to create a new folder in the same directory, but you will not able to move messages back into your inbox. To move your saved messages to another non-Nokia device, you can forward the messages via SMS.
Hope this helps and let us know how it works out.
    Regards,
    haZey

  • Nokia N8 does not support DTMF ! Can this be fixed...

My Nokia N8 does not seem to be able to do DTMF. This means no listening to voicemail, no using of call centers which asks to enter numeric options, no joining telephone conferecences with a pin and no remote activation of DTMF based server settings.
It is a real pain and I hope it can be fixed. If anyone has advice, it will be appreciated.
P.S. Please don't tell me that it can be done and all I need to do during a call is to select "Options -> Send DTMF -> Enter Manually -> * -> Y", because that is stupid. Entering 5 commands to select a single digit is rediculous. It is like saying that I can sail from Johannesburg to Cape Town because all I need is to dig a canal and then build a ship from matches. This much effort is as good as not having it and is entirely impractical during a call with various options i.e. voicemail or call center options.
    Solved!

Was worried in case you may have forgotten how to use it between post 2 and post 11 . For myself I sometimes forget things that quickly.
Besides, I would love having the opportunity to teach someone how to dial a number on a telephone but am frustrated because I have never found anyone who needs teaching  .

Availability of update depends on Product Code / Region. Also, for Network locked devices, update is possible only after an approval from the Operator.
Did you also check thru' FOTA ..(i.e. Software Update option available on your Phone - Refer P. 104 of the User Guide ) ?
If No update is available thru' both FOTA and Nokia Suite.. As per the reasons mentioned above, even if an update is released by Nokia, it need not be for your Device.

  • Included Mini-DVI to DVI adapter does not support HDCP and iTunes HD movies

    Hi.
Just downloaded Twilight in HD (to own) from the iTunes Store and had the annoying message about HDCP not being supported by my display, and that I could not play the movie in HD.
My Mac Mini is plugged to a very HDCP-compliant Sony Bravia 40" LCD TV via Apple's mini-DVI to DVI adapter (included in the new Mac Mini's box) and a DVI to HDMI cable.
(HDCP works well for this TV with a PS3, another Sony Blu-Ray player (the 2 are for zones A and B), an AppleTV)
Since I have other recent Macs with a Mini DisplayPort, I happen to also have an Apple branded Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter.
So I replaced the (mini-DVI to DVI) adapter by the (Mini DisplayPort to DVI) adapter and plugged it on the Mini DisplayPort on the Mac Mini.
I can now play the HD version on my Sony TV!!
This really sounds like a joke!
A joke that is going to make me go the shop and buy another (Mini DisplayPort to DVI) adapter, since I like to always have one, as well as the VGA adapter, with my MacBooks.
Let's hope there will sonn be an iTunes, Leopard, or mini-DVI to DVI adapter firmware update very soon to fix this.

I am actually very surprised that your miniDisplayPort to DVI transition works with HD content.
I'd consider that a bonus and cherish it until Apple removes that functionality in a future update.
It is probably a bug as it should not work.
The thing to keep in mind is that DVI cables do not support the necessary DRM/encryption signals for HD video content.
This is one of the main reason DisplayPort was introduced.
So I am not surprised that miniDVI to DVI to HDCP does not play HD content on your TV.
In fact this is +expected behavior+ due to the lack of DRM/encryption signals.
No matter how you convert from miniDVI to DVI, the port cannot create something that it doesn't have in the first place.
The more I am surprised that the miniDisplayPort to DVI to HDCP transition provides these signals. I would have expected them to be filtered out in the DVI cable in the middle as this cable cannot pass something on that DVI is not designed to carry (HD DRM/encryption signals).
It could very well be a 'bug' in the miniDisplayPort to DVI cable controller, which Apple might 'fix' in a future driver update.
It is likely a mistake that this works.
What you really need is a miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort to HDCP conversion. Or directly a miniDisplayPort to HDCP cable. Those are the only routes that are guaranteed to work passing HD video DRM/encryption signals along.
But as far as i know neither of these two cables are available yet.
Which might be the reason why Apple - for the time being - allows your miniDisplayPort to DVI route to work. Emphasis on +for the time being+.
I would not count on the fact that this will work forever.
And I would certainly not count on a software update that will make the DVI route work. This will never work due to DVI's incapacity of providing DRM/encryption signals for HD content.
