Nokia Suite for selective synchronization??

Hi every one,
I'm using a Nokia N8 phone and I used to keep a copy of my photos and videos on my PC using Nokia Suite, I just clicked on the gallery sync. button and it was done.
I recently bought a new memory card and I started downloading videos by the (Youtube downloader) app. I have now like 7GB of videos on my memory card.
The problem is that now every time I try to sync. the gallery, Nokia suite makes a copy of all downloaded videos on my computer.
My question is, is it possible to set nokia suite to sync. only the photos and the videos taken by the camera and ignore the downloaded videos?
Thnx a lot
Sam

No.. thats not possible..but as a work-around what you can do is connect the phone to PC and select the Photos on your Phone thru' Windows Explorer and then Copy-Paste them in the appropriate folder. The Folder you may like to use is displayed in Nokia Suite under Tools-->Options-->Gallery-->Photos ...

    Runtime Error !
    Program: C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Suite\NokiaSuite.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information

    Follow this instruction:
    /t5/Maemo-and-MeeGo-Devices/Nokia-Link-for-Vista-Ovi-Suite-for-N9/td-p/1194985#
and your N9 is working with Nokia Suite 3.2.100
Don't forget to disconnect from Internet during installation of 3.0.0.290.
After upgrade to 3.2.100 you can use the Nokia Suite for your N9.
Only one exception: Maps are not supported.
In case the Suite crashes during calendar synchronization with Outlook then just delete the PC-SYNC calendar on your N9 and try it again. It should work now.

  • Nokia Suite does NOT backup map favorites. Belle u...

I recently updated my E7-00 from Anna to Belle and lost all my map favorites in the process.
Although I did a full backup of my phone before the update I have since found out that Nokia Suite does not backup map favorites.
The Belle update did NOT make a copy of my map favorites, it wiped them out completely.
Nowhere have I seen that information before.  When I updated to Anna I did not lose my map favorites.
There should be a warning about this before starting the Belle update.
The Belle Update FAQ states that after the update one of the things one can do immediately is access map favorites - NOT!
I have since learned, by searching online, that I am expected to sync my map favorites online with a Nokia server.  I do not want to store my confidential information on someone else's server.  Additionally, I don't pay for data service because it is so expensive here in Canada.  So I would have to connect my phone via USB to my PC.
Nokia Suite backs up my contacts, photos, music, documents, etc.  Why not my map favorites?  In fact I store my music, photos, documents, and even contact information separate from my phone so I don't need Nokia Suite for that.  But how do I copy my GPS coordinates off my phone for backup?
2nd level tech support suggested I recreate them all by browsing the maps on my phone and selecting the locations.  That is so inaccurate, time consuming, and wrong.  Supposedly they have passed my problem onto 3rd level tech support.
Does anyone know if one can import map coordinates into a symbian phone?  I have many of the locations stored in another GPS application on a laptop.  I can export them from there.  That would be a partial solution.
    Thanks.
Note: cross posted under Discussions Main Page > Software > Nokia Suite

I might suggest a Wi-Fi connection for access to the 'net, but let me assume that storing anything on a different server is not an option.  So, what remains...
The least expensive, and simplest, method would be for you to buy any second Nokia phone that runs Nokia Maps.  I use Nokia's Phone Switch technology to transfer all my maps data to a second phone.  I'll have to do it again, so I can give you specific instructions on the "how", but the bottom line is it does work.
As to importing and exporting GPS Coordinates, I learned by accident that you can enter favorites by using GPS coordinates - and can also find the coordinates for something you have already entered.
A free program that I think is invaluable for using Maps on a Nokia, especially the N8, is "LeGPSData2".  I used their older version for years, until the certificate expired and I was unable to upload it to my N8, but the new version is considerably better.  You might find a way to do other things you mentioned with that program - and if not, you might suggest them (import/export) to the program author.
If you are as careful as you suggest you are, don't you have backups that you've already done on your PC?  Have you tried to find your GPS data in those backups?
I can't speak for others, but regardless of what Nokia saiys would or woud not happen during the phone update, I don't "trust" any of it.  I did my own backups two ways, as a complete bacakup on the PC, and as a phone backup on the memory card.  I "think" but can't confirm, that the GPS data was backed up by both of them.
You're right - Nokia should fix the Belle installation script to also backup and re-install the maps data, if there is something wrong, but on my phone it did it all correctly following their instructions (in addition to my other backups, which I never needed).
If I get some free time, I'll see if I can get the import/export to work using Maps and LeGPSData2.  It would be nice to do this to one location, multiple locations, or all locations.  It would be nice to send this data to another phone directly, or to save it as a file.

  • How to install Nokia suite on android tablett?

I want to install the Nokia suite or something similar to my new android tablett PC so that I can use the Nokia E90 mobile phone as modem to go into the internet. I copied the .exe file onto the tablett but the tablett PC does not start the nokia exe file. So what can I do?

Unfortunately there is no compatible Nokia Suite for Android operating systems. However there is a solution to your problem.
You can use Wireless tethering using the application "JOIKUSPOT LIGHT WiFi HotSpot" which can be downloaded free from the Nokia Ovi Store. There is also a premium version for £8 which enables you to set a password to the WiFi hotspot and improves battery usage.

After syncing photos, some avatar photos appeared on the PC, but the photos I put on the PC is no where to be found on the phone, using the phone's photo viewer or using the mass storage mode and looking at the files with a computer.
If I just put photos in a folder that is designated as the "photos folder location", then syncing photos should put those photos into the phone, right? It doesn't.
Is there a manual way to put photos on the phone using the mass storage mode? I see a few folders with photos and thumbnails. Can I copy photos (jpg file) directly into one of these folder?
The phone's firmware is just updated last night.

Though in all probabilities there won't be any recent or future updates for your phone..not sure what version it currently has. Provided you have never updated your device in the past, you need to check thru'  Nokia Suite for any availability ..

  • Nokia Suite's bugging about Belle

Downgrading my E6-00 from Belle to Anna 25.7 was a struggle and it would be a nightmare if Nokia Suite for any reason started installing Belle again (e.g. if I miss pressing cancel and instead press install by mistake). Is there anyway I can prevent Nokia Suite from bugging me about upgrading to Belle. I've been in Belle land and will NEVER return. Belle is useless.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I found it was easy.
Just change the URLs to the update servers in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Suite\NOSSU2\usergroups.cfg. You may substitute any server name found with an URL to Google or what ever.
This disables updates (and generates an "connection failed" error when trying to update, but that's something one can live with). The number one goal is to keep Belle from coming anywhere near the phone ;-)

  • Problem to synchronize C7-00 and Nokia Suite

    Hi,
I have a C7-00 for 18 months with no major problems.
I synchronized it with the MSOutlook on my PC through Nokia Ovi Suite - Calendar, Tasks, Messages, Photos with no problems.
Few days ago I got a message on my phone to install the new phone software, and I did it.
    Now I have a C7-00 with Symbian Anna 022.014.277.04 installed on 5 Dec 2011.
Many things are looking different than before.
And I also upgraded my Nokia Ovi Suite to latest Nokia Suite - version 3.2.100.
And the syncing stopped to work. I get a warning that some calendar tasks are not synced, but actually, no one is synced.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi PMar,
Welcome to the Nokia Discussions support forum! If syncing all other content works, but only calendar fails, then find these files from your pc:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\SCANPST.EXE
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\SCANOST.EXE
Right click with mouse and select "run".
you should take a back- up of the Outlook folders to avoid any loss of information.
You can also try to do manual sync and see if it works:
Select Sync > Sync option, and uncheck all automatic sync options.
Then select Sync > Sync now > Contact, Calendar& tasks, Messages or Notes one by one individually.
If the issue still persists, reinstall Nokia Suite. Go to add/remove application in Windows > Delete Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver, Nokia Suite and Nokia PC Connectivity Solution.
Then download the Nokia Suite from this link. Save to your pc, don't click "Run". Open the installer and follow the installation wizard.
Hope you get the sync working again!

    why??

The USB mode in your Nokia might be called Modem, PC Suite or Nokia Suite, or even Nokia Ovi Suite. In your phone, all these four USB modes are the same.
The PC Suite and the Nokia Suite are two different software titles which can be used in parallel. Furthermore, the Nokia Suite is the successor of (replaced) the Nokia Ovi Suite.
Before you download and install all these software, I recommend to install the latest Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver first.
If that did not help, please, plug-in your Nokia, select that Suite mode, and go to to Windows » Start » Contol Panel (» Hardware » Devices) » Device-Manager » USB » right-click on your Nokia » Update Driver Software. Did that help?
