Nokia Suite messes up WIndows 7

I have been using Nokia Suite and before I used OVI suite and I have observed that once I start Nokia software, my computer slows down.  Even after exiting from the suite my computer hangs and CPU utilization goes to 100%.  I have disabled all Nokia Services and the only resolution is a clean restart ensurign that none of Nokia services are running at start up.
If there are others facing similar issues please share.

Sometimes it behaves wierdly (..that is as per many threads on this Forum).

  • Nokia Suite Issues with Windows 8

My Nokia suite keeps forcing my Windows 8 computer to restart the second my phone firmware installation hits 15%
I have seen this reported before in 2012 but it still has not being fixed, running the latest Nokia suite avaliable.
Symbian Developer, if I can help out just give me a bell.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
Sorry I should have explained a bit more,
The phone firmware installation gets to 15% then out of nowhere the windows 8 blue screen comes up, the one with the big sad face, and in the bottom corner it says something about a Kernel panic.
I'm afraid I cannot attach a screenshot since the computer restarts within 20- 30 seconds of the screen coming up.
And yes the Tower has four USB3 ports but also have bog standard USB2 ( the phone was plugged into a v3)
I hope this can be fixed, my Asha 310 development phone is playing up and I need to get the firmware re-installed.
    Regards,
    Allstar
Edit: I took a picture of it, don't know if it's of any help

  • How can i import my contact list from the Nokia Suite to my I phone?

how can i import my contact list from the Nokia Suite to my I phone?

Oscar, keep in mind that my suggestion could not be the best one.
I have a copy of Nokia suite on my Windows XP partition on my Mac, just to test it.
The second icon on the upper row explains as a syncronisation with Outlook.
Try to do it and later you should use the iClod manager from Apple and Sync Outlook to ìiClod and to any iPhone iPod and so on.

  • New function in Nokia Suite to transfer contacts t...

From version 3.6.x whish is now available as a release download here Nokia Suite has a new feature which allows for an easy transfer of contacts, calendar and photos to your Nokia Lumia Windows Phone via SkyDrive.
Due to some publications on tech blogs and in the general media the suggestion was created that Nokia Suite directly supports Windows Phone now. This is not correct although Nokia Suite now offers an easy and fast way to transfer contacts, calendar and photos to your (new) Nokia Lumia Windows Phone.
    Here's how this feature works;
Connect your Nokia S40, S60 or Nokia Belle phone to your PC using the USB cable.
After Nokia Suite is started and your phone shows as connected select Tools>Upload to SkyDrive and follow the on screen instructions. If you do not have one yet you will have to create a Microsoft account (formerly Live ID) which has a SkyDrive attached to it. You can create such account here.
You will now have to reset your Nokia Lumia Windows Phone. Doing so will erase all content from the phone and return it to it's 'out of the box' state. Make sure you have synced any media files to your PC(zune) or Mac(Connector). You can sync these back after the reset. Installed (paid) apps can be restored after the reset using the app Reinstaller from Marketplace.
When finished reset your Nokia Lumia Windows Phone using Settings>about>reset your phone.
Go through the device first use sequence and when asked enter your Microsoft Account used to save the content from Nokia Suite. When the setup has finished your will find your contacts, calendar and photos have all transferred to your Lumia. These will now also be available through your Microsoft account online.
It is important to note this transfer will only work to the Nokia Lumia at the Device First Use sequence (after a reset). If you have your Lumia setup it will not look for or sync the information copied to SkyDrive through Nokia Suite.
SMS message can not be transferred directly, but you can export all messages in Nokia Suite (Messaging>File/Export all text messages) and open the resulting Comma Separated File (.csv) in Excel or OpenOffice Calc to create an Excel sheet (.xls file) this can then be copied to your SkyDrive and opened from the Office app. You could also use a tool to create separate files from the exported .CSV file and copy all of these to SkyDrive.

I'm sure everybody understands this, but let me take a moment. Lumias are not new Symbian phones, they use the MS Windows Phone operating system. (yea I know, duh) What that means is that they conform to the MS concept of operation which is extremely web/cloud centric. They have left behind the idea that a phone is a little piece of a single PC to be cabled and sync'd periodically. It is an entity unto itself. Your data is in the cloud and the various devices, phones, tablets, PCs, connect to that data independently. The benefit to that is generally up to date data, no matter what device, and when, with virtually no user action required. The drawback is the requirement for connectivity. Not perpetual connectivity, but fairly frequent, periodic connectivity. For some the mere fact of cloud storage is an issue. That is just the way it is though.
Moving from any other platform, even older Windows Mobile ones, to this concept can be frustrating, if you weren't cloud based to begin with. The accepted way is to move your data into the cloud from the old platform, and then connect your Windows Phone to it. Again there are various ways to accomplish that. Nokia has attempted to provide some tools to make some of that transition easier. They are not responsible for, nor in a position to change the philosophy by which WP operates. Don't beat them up for how it works. If you don't like it, maybe beat them up for adopting it

  • Nokia Suite 3.8.54 crashes in NokiaDecMP4ASP_H263....

on my system the Nokia Suite 3.8.54 crashes in module NokiaDecMP4ASP_H263.dll (2.0.0.9).
that particular dll is sitting in "%CommonProgramFiles%\Nokia\Codecs\".
any ideas how to resolve this crash?
    PS:
system specs: windows xp @ amd sempron.
    nokia 3720c

    screenshot attached.
    [update2]
as instant workaround i have simply deleted (or rather renamed) the subfolders "Codecs" and "Tss" below "%CommonProgramFiles%\Nokia\Codecs\".
    this eliminates the crashing.
however, i'm no longer able to watch any video depending on those codecs, of course.

  • How do I uninstall Nokia Suite?

I uninstalled Nokia Suite, but I still regularly get pop-ups saying 'Please wait while Windows configures Nokia Suite'. When I press Cancel, I get the message 'No valid source could be found for product Nokia Suite. The Windows Installer cannot continue.'. I've even run the Nokia Suite uninstaller - this removed some registry entries, but I still keep getting the message, How do I remove Nokia Suite once and for all?

Someone in Nokia support suggested I try the Windows install/uninstall utility from the Microsoft website, and that seems to have done the trick. The link I was given was http://support.microsoft.com/mats/program_install_and_uninstall, but this doesn't seem to work at the moment.

  • Contacts from Nokia Suite to Lumia phone

Any good idea how to move contacts from Nokia Suite to Lumia Windows phone or to Skydrive.

  • Nokia Suite managment

    Hello,
I have question about Nokia Suite:
in old Nokia PC Suite, I could sync contacts, also I was able to copy that contacts in VCF format   anyware i wanted (same for SMS), but, in Nokia Suite I have no such option, is it possible to do this? (copy contacts separated?) , or how can I save my data (conatcts and SMS) stored in Nokia Suite when reinstalling windows?
    Nokia Suite version 3.3.86
    OS: Windows 7 64bit
    Thanks
    Solved!

    Hi gio_kiborg,
Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting!
Nokia Suite, when running on a Windows 7 system, will sync contacts to the Windows contacts list if selected in Tools/Options/contacts 'Sync with contacts application' 'Windows Contacts'' . When you have synchronized your contacts go to 'Start' and enter 'contacts' in the search field. This will open your contact list. You will see the synced contacts there. From here you can select 'Export' From the windows menu and export to either a Comma Separated Value (.csv) textfile or vCards.
In Nokia Suite when you go to the Messages screen and select 'Conversations' you will be able to export messages through 'File>Export all messages'.
Hope this helps, let us know how you get on!

  • Cannot connect N79 with new and old Nokia suites r...

I have an N79 which I can successfully connect with Nokia Suite 3.3.x running on Windows XP and sync my data.
However, I have failed to connect the same phone (and also a N86) with the Nokia suite running on Windows 7. The connection with Windows seems fine (and I can browse the contents of the phone from Explorer). However Nokia Suite 3.3.x does not detect the device, although looking at the Add Phone window it is clearly trying to do something when I physically connect the phone - sometimes a message "Wait while we configure the phone etc."
I have tried removing all Nokia software, removing registry entries, reloading. But to no effect. I have tried repairing the various Mokia software elements through Control Panel.
I tried an older version of the suite (OVI 3.0.0.286). Again without success, except that it does see the phone because it lists it on the Add Phone screen. However, when I select it I get a pop-up advising me that the phone is not in PC Suite mode - but it is!!!  This does not happen every time but only after I delete the phone's entry from Devices. If I do not do that, the suite does not list the phone. The same happens on Vista.
The USB cable is from Nokia (CA 101). So same phone, same cable, same Nokia suite - works on XP but not on Win 7 or Vista.
Any ideas would be most welcome.

Hi, tinwhistle. Thanks for sharing with us your concern. Do you have the latest version of the Nokia Suite? Can you also make sure that you have an admin access on your Windows 7 computer, and your firewalls & antivirus programs are disabled. It would also help if your Windows 7 drivers are up-to-date. Keep us posted.

  • Migrate Nokia Suite between windows accounts

I have recently changed my home pc so that each user has their own account, I now want to move my Nokia Suite settings to my personal windows account rather than the shared windows account.
My issue is that I have a lot of photographs stored on my N8, these have already been uploaded to windows (shared account) - but if I connect the N8 while logged in with my new windows account Nokia Suite tries to upload all the photos again, this would turn into a massive problem for me to sort out manually.
What can I do to migrate my Nokia Suite data from one account to another - I see there are hidden "Nokia" and "Nokia Account" folders in AppData/Local... would it be sufficient to copy these or is there other stuff that I would be missing?

    Hi dylanf,
You can see the help of Nokia Suite "Moving the contents of Nokia Suite to a new computer", the same applies to creating a new account or profile on your same computer.
If you had your Photos and Videos from your phone stored on your shared account on PC in the standard Windows Pictures and Videos folders. You just need to copy them those to your new account's Pictures and Videos. This way you will not need to copy those photos again from your phone to your new account.
I copied here the instructions from the Nokia Suite help. Nokia Suite -> Help -> Moving the contents of Nokia Suite to a new computer.
When you are switching to a new computer, it's easy to move your contacts, messages, media files, calendar information, bookmarks, and web feeds from Nokia Suite on your old computer to Nokia Suite on the new computer. All your files stay safe and you can continue using Nokia Suite just like before. See below for detailed instructions on how to move different content types to your new computer.
    Music, photos, and videos
The music, photos, and videos you see in Nokia Suite are stored on your computer just like any files and you can move them to the new computer with the help of Windows Explorer and an external hard drive, such as a USB memory stick. In the options of Nokia Suite, check if the program saves your media files to the standard Windows folders for music, photos, and videos (such as Music, Pictures, and Videos on Windows Vista and Windows 7 or My Music, My Pictures, and My Videos on Windows XP), or if you have chosen to save them in some other folders. To check your options, open the Tools menu, click Options, and then go to the Music and Gallery tabs.
Note that if you have created music playlists or photo albums in Nokia Suite on your old computer, you need to create them again when you start using Nokia Suite on your new computer.

  • Nokia suite 3.8.48 and Windows (8) Contacts

Nokia Suite syncs 3710 fold and suite, but not Windows contacts.
    How to do?
Previously I used Windows XP and Outlook without any problems.
Would be great with some help.

    Hi goranlof,
    Welcome to the forum!
Nokia Suite can copy and sync contacts and calendar files from the following programs:
    Microsoft Windows 7 Contacts
    Microsoft Windows Vista Contacts
    Microsoft Windows Vista Calendar
    Microsoft Outlook 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010
    Microsoft Outlook Express
    Mozilla Thunderbird
Windows 8 Contacts is currently not included in the list. However, you can copy your numbers from Windows 8 Contacts to any of the supported programs, you'll be able to sync the data to your Nokia 3710 fold. You can contact the Windows support team for assistance with this process: windows.microsoft.com/contact-support.
Let us know if this information has helped you.

  • Nokia Suite install constantly failing (Windows XP...

I have spent over 12 hours today trying to get Nokia Suite to work on my Windows XP. (All updates for XP installed). I have downloaded, "installed", "repaired", de-installed, and re-started my PC nearly a dozen times. - I have already followed the instructions in a thread from February, which involved copying, pasting, saving and installing two CA certificated from http://www.verisign.com/. - I have already followed the instructions in that same thread about uninstalling Nokia Suite, Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver and PC connectivity Solution then restarting the PC and downloading Nokia Suite 3.3.86 (again and again and again...) Every time I go through this tedious and frustrating routine, double-click the .exe file (again), it appears to install correctly. But 15 seconds after the start screen (the big blue blob which turns into a "C") appears, the same ominous message pops up - Nokia Suite needs to be repaired. OK, so repair it ! The repair completes and - 15 seconds after it restarts itself - I get the "needs to be repaired" message again. So off we go again. This is extremely frustrating and time consuming. The download (nearly 90 Mb) takes 20 minutes or more (depending on whether my husband is also online on his laptop), the installation takes another 10 minutes or so, restarting my PC another 10 minutes or so, the repair another 10 minutes - and all that 17 times. I am going to try a slightly earlier version which I just downloaded from oldapps.com (god bless 'em) and see whether that will work. But if anyone has any more ideas how to get the damn thing working I would be extremely grateful.

You may try the latest Beta version from here ... Need to log-in using the SAME credentials that you use on this Forum; to download the Installer ...
