just a little background info from telstra. they have had the update from release. it comes down to the fact that there were so many fixes to anna they didnt think it fair to keep testing it. as for the emergency call that was an issue where when our emergency numbers were called the phone wouldnt call the number and it also caused the phone to freeze, i was told of alot of other issues whithin the update. telstra are now focusing on haveing there updates page update more often and correctly.
i have not had any proplems while and after updating my n8 to anna. which goes to show that telstra have released a perfect version of anna. oo and new nokia phones are on the way to telstra.. ill let you work out what they are

  • Reinstalling Belle - The Nokia Suite update servic...

I have a C6-01 I used before getting a Lumia and I want to give it to someone else. Before doing so, I wanted to reinstall Nokia Belle to remove everything I had on the phone's memory and to give the phone away with a fresh installation of the OS.
The problem is that when I go to Software Update in Nokia Suite and click reinstall, Nokia Suite downloads 170MB out of the ~320MB that Nokia Belle has and then says "The Nokia Suite update service is currently unavailable." I've already tried this on two PCs, both running the latest version of Nokia Suite. I reinstalled the OS once before about a year ago and it worked just fine. Any ideas about why this might be happening and what I can do to solve it? I've looked around and found a lot of other people who have had this problem over the years but I haven't managed to find a way to get through it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I just tried using Nokia Software Recovery Tool. It recognizes my phone and immediately after I click Install and the download progress bar appears, it says something went wrong ("There was an error. Please try again. Error code: InternalError.")
Is there anything else I can try?
Edit: I also tried using Nokia Software Updater for Retail and the same thing happens. Then I tried using Nokia Care to download the firmware and it still doesn't work. It finds it, says it has 320MB, and when I click download, it just says it's been queued for download and that's it, nothing else happens.

  • Nokia Suite Update Unavailable

I have recently purchased a new PC, and installed the Nokia suite.  I connect my N8 and see that there is new system software to install, but as soon as I click the next button, once logged into my account, it says Nokia Suite Update is unavailable try again later.
    Any thoughts?????

The latest version is available here ..
You may also try the Latest Beta version from here ... To download the installer, you need to log-in using the SAME credentials that you use on this Forum..
It may be the case that there was a problem with Nokia servers (..as for this Forum since about 16 hrs...) Since these are restored, you may also try the way you were trying ...

  • Nokia Suite update service is currently unavailabl...

Today Nokia Suite informed that firmware 25.007 was available for my Nokia N8.
But everytime I click on Install I get the following error. How can I solve this?

    Hi Hans,
    Thanks for the feedback.
1)The original USB cable that came with the box is being used.
2)Nokia Software Recovery Tool deletes all the personal data. though it is possible to retrieve some of it with the backup-restore processes, but I left it for the last try. Nevertheless I am giving it a shot now. I will post here the outcome.
The phone has not been stranded, I purchased it from Amazon at the end of 2011, have been using it all the time happily with no complaints, since recently I can not get any app from the Ovi store at all. I thought it might be because of the Anna, so I gave up on resisting to the Belle update and tried to update but it didn't work.
In short, in fact I just want to be able to install apps, don't mind Anna or Belle at all. I have also updated the Time and Date package, it can not be because of that.
Will write here as soon as the Lumina Software Recovery tool finishes and see if I can install the apps I want or not.

  • Nokia suit update sevice is currently unavailable

when i try upgrading my C7, the nokia suit says it's update service is currently unavailable even after 3 days and after updating it to nokia suit v.3.3.86

    Hi all, few comments:
    - first, make sure that you have latest Nokia Suite installed and in use (you can see version number in top right corner of Nokia Suite)
    - check, that Nokia Belle update is available for your product code (you can find list from here: http://europe.nokia.com/find-products/nokia-belle-update/nokia-belle-update-availability)
    - In Nokia Suite, it's recommended to have Tools -> Options "Automatically download software updates" turned on (this way Nokia Suite downloads update packages in background to your PC, so update experience is smoother)
    - Additionally, make sure, that if you have any firewall software in your PC, that Nokia Suite is allowed to connect to internet
    - Additionally, you can in Nokia Suite Tools -> Software updates click "Refresh", then Nokia Suite checks for latest information from Nokia's server
    Cheers,

  • Nokia Suite Update appeared.

I launched Nokia Suite and a updated version appeared asking me to download. I haven't updated yet.

QUOTE:  Again, why have Nokia removed something that was not broken?  And seem to have broken everything else. Couldn't they just left things alone?
It's not Nokia doing this, it's Microsoft.
QUOTE:   Soon I will be looking for a new phone, the only criterion so far is that it's not going to be Nokia.  For someone who has had several Nokia phones over the past 9 years I really don't see the point in all this.
I think that's the whole idea, Microsoft want you get a new phone,   .......  one of their Windows Phones.
The trouble is they're so dumb they haven't figured out they're seriously pissing off the owners of Nokia phones to the point they won't buy a MS phone now, even if it was previously a consideration.
Total Nokia smart phone sales have halved since their Windows Phones came on the market.  I'm talking actual handsets sold not market share.  The market size has grown considerably, but Nokia's market share has faired even worse, shrinking from about 36% when Steven Elop took over to about 3% today.
Nokia smartphone owners have already voted with their feet.  WP was/is inferior to Symbian and more paticularly Meego. Most Nokia owners didn't want to downgrade their capabilities by buying a Lumia phone.  They've kept their old Symbian and Meego phones or bought another brand.
Microsoft are doing their level best to drive away any remaining potential customers

  • Problem with Nokia Suite updating e71 firmware

I had to do a hard reset on my e71 and now I'm trying to update the 400.21.013 firmware from Nokia suite, but an error occurs. It says that I need to disconnect the phone and try again. Then it says that if that doesn't work, to reinstall Nokia suite. I have done this with no succes and still getting the same error message. What can I do to update the firmware? Also is it possible to update to one of the earlier firmwares that is no longer listed currently on the support site?? Thanks for any help and suggestions.

    @dudersup
Have you tried using NSU? I can't guarantee if it'll work, it's a known issue now that the Suite is giving some users, including myself, a hard time in updating software.
Also try older versions of Ovi Suite, could possibly work.
Hope you get your phone back up and running.

  • ITunes will not update because 'iPod Service' could not be downloaded.

For many months now I have been trying to update my iTunes on my computer yet whenever the update is being downloaded I recieve an error message that tells me to go to the Tools menu and to download it from there. I do this and try to install the software again but whenever iTunes is in the process of being downloaded I get the message "Service 'iPod Service' (iPod Service) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services." But the thing is I am the administrator on this computer and I get this message everytime. To update I have been uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it. What can I do to fix this?

To update I have been uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it.
Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8

  • Nokia Suite update phone

I am trying to update the software on my new Nokia 701 with Nokia Suite (3-5-34) on my windows 7 (64 bit) computer.
After Nokia Suite did make a back-up it gives me the error that it is not connected to the phone.
I have try the suggestion from the Nokia site to dissable drivers download in windows but this didn't help.
    Thanks

Finally I upgraded by Wi-Fi which did fine.
    But for the record.
Next procedure I repeated 3 times (On different USB-ports)
Set auto download drivers off as suggested by the Nokia-site.
    I have disabled anti-virus.
Every time waited for about 15 minutes after getting the error.
    But nothing seems to work.
I get a red sign with 6 corners in which is a yellow ! .
(Then translated from Dutch to English)
    Can't install the software.
There is a problem with the connection between Nokia Suit and your phone. Check whether the USB is connected directly to the computer and try to start the installation again. Renew the connection of your phone and restart Nokia Suite if this wont help.
    (Sorry for my English).

  • Nokia Software Updater/OVI - Unplanned service bre...

Hey there, I'm trying to update my "new" Nokia N80i, but NSU/OVI is getting me "unplanned service break". I tried deleting expired root certificates, my firewall is off, no proxy. Tried it on two operating system (7, XP) both with OVI and standalone NSU. What's the problem? Thanks on any info.

    @Drulex
At the time of your original posting there 17.42 GMT +1 there was an unplanned service break as could no longer sign-in to Ovi, but this was resolved within hours.

  • Cannot figure out why service could not be activated

am trying to deploy and use a web part developed in SP2010 that requires connecting from a SP2010 server to a SQL server. I get the following error (greatly abbreviated):
The requested service, '[blocked; this is not what it says on the error]//_vti_bin/PSI/Lists.svc', could not be activated. See the server's diagnostic trace logs for more information.
I saw nothing in the logs from ".../14/logs/" that could tell me anything. When I check the Lists.svc at that location in IIS, it brings up an error page, noting that the config file could not be accessed due to not having permission. In fact,
when I added the "_vti_bin" folder as a Virtual Directory, it gave me the warning
The server is configured to use pass-through authentication with a built-in account to access the specified physical path. However, IIS Manager cannot verify whether the built-in account has access. Make sure that the application pool identity has Read
access to the physical path. If this server is joined to a domain, and the application pool identity is NetworkService or LocalSystem, verify that \$ has Read access to the physical path. Then test these settings again.
So what are the errors, and how do I fix the configuration errors?
    Chris Lee

HI Chris,I assume that the errors are mostly related to the permission issue.Try changing the Apppool identity with the user credentials which has full control on the site.

  • 9.2 ITunes Update " Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed" HELP!

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit OS system and I have no problems installing or uninstalling anything on my computer EXCEPT Itunes. I have not been able to install the new update to 9.2 and I need to before I can get the new Iphone software for my new IPhone 4.0 tomorrow.
Please help, this is my work phone and I have gone to every support place possible to fix this.

After much searching I found the following solution...it worked for me. So simple you would think the Tech guy at HP I spent an hour on the phine with would have known it. Good luck!
This is the solution that worked for me:
    Go to this registry key:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSIServer
    Look for
    WOW64 and it's value.
    Is it 0x00000001 (1) ?
This value tells Windows Installer only to deal with 32-bit installers
and to return you an error whenever you try to install something that is
64-bit. To fix it, just set the value to 0. So you will see in your
    editor:
    WOW64 REG_DWORD 0x00000000 (0)
After changing the value to zero, restart your Windows Installer Service
    by using services.msc or reboot.
This simple solution of changing the 1 to a 0 allowed me to finally
    install Itunes on Vista 64

  • Nokia Suite 3.4.40 won't install

It's the same message as others on here have got (see attached).
I've tried all the other fixes mentioned on here, but none have worked.  I'm using Windows 7 pro 64-bit.
It's really annoying as I need to download maps for France onto my phone.

    Hi everyone,
I'm new to these forums so please excuse me if I make any errors in posting this query.
I'm also having problems installing Nokia Suite 3.4.41 (and v3.8.89). But the error message I'm getting is different to the other one discussed in this thread. My error is to do with the Connectivity Cable Driver (see attachments).
I was having problems with my phone - the battery kept going flat, but I couldn't work out what was causing it, so I did a restore on my phone, the one that deletes all data (is that what you refer to as a 'hard reset'?). I ran a back-up before doing this.
Then I went to use Nokia Suite to sync my photos, music & contacts back to my phone, but it won't let me sync anything without updating the software (v3.3.89). The software downloads okay, but when it comes to running the install, I get the error message. Same happens when trying to download v3.4.41 from the internet.
The Nokia_Connectivity_Cable_Driver.msi file is apparently missing from my computer. I tried to uninstall the Nokia files via the Control Panel, thinking I could then just download the updated version from scratch, but it won't uninstall without this .msi file.
I hope this makes sense, and that someone can help me!

  • Nokia Suite Download Error?

Hi Nokia! I am currently experiencing problems regarding Nokia Belle update with my Nokia Suite. I already have downloaded parts of the file (I think it was around 282 MB or so) but then the download stopped and it said " The Nokia Suite update service is currently unavailable. Please try again later." I only have to download 57 MB to complete it, but sadly, can't because of the said problem. I have tried many times but I always stumble against this problem.
Can you provide any solution to this problem? My phone E6-00. I just want to update to Nokia Belle. Any response would be appreciated.
    E6-00. Still Anna. Needs Belle.

the servers might be busy, try in a few days.
