Nokia warning tones !!!

It can't really be understood why Nokia is using such low ,simple warning tones for it's mobiles !!!
* You find them telling you not to overcharge your battery ,while the warning tone for a fully charged battery can't be heared if you are a few meters away from your charging handset, why !!!
* The warning tone for the low battery is totally low ,it's even much better within S40 or S30 series... why is that !!!
*You can never know that somebody is about to send you a bluetooth file , if you aren't pr-aware of that , or were looking at the screen , again , the warning tone is low , I always feel upset when I see that bluetooth warning tone for sony ericsson !!!
Many of the third party programs concerning some of these issues are dull to install ,most of them need a third party applications like modules...python...etc. It's a big mess that I don't want to make in my handset , and the results won't be guaranteed !!
What you think ?

I think you're being paranoid.
Once the battery is charged, the phone emits a warning tone. It doesn't matter if you don't hear it because the charging circuitry in the phone switches the charge off anyway. It is impossible to over-charge a battery in a phone specifically because of this.

  • How to disable "random" Nokia 5230 warning tone (n...

The phone makes annoying warning sound / warning tone every now and then, apparently (my guess) due to 3G / gprs connection background status changes (lost / got connection / put connection on hold / whatever). It is definitely not due to incoming sms message or alarm clock etc.
This kind of semi-random noise is damn annoying - especially as it can happen during the night for no apparent reason.
I am sure there's a way to disable it, but so far I have not found a way...?
    Any help appreciated.

Turn off warning tones in the profile in use.

    Hi dawnofdarkness,
Have you tried to reinstall Symbian through Ovi suite? (remember to back anything important up).
Also with the keyboard issue, the Alphanumeric keypad is in the menu icon below the space bar.

    Thanks for the advice.
So it won't harm the battery to regularly charge it up when the battery level isn't at a low charge?
Yes. Ironically, modern batteries liked to be always charged - at least partially.

I always thought it was best to charge it fully only when it's nearly empty?
That is applicable and advisable for old batteries - early Nokia batteries - and especially NiMH and NiCd's. But not for modern batteries at the present.
Also, can it do harm to charge for say 30 minutes and not until it's full?
No. It won't pose any harm. As I've said, modern batteries like to be charged partially.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

  • Screen has a bluish tint after fast user switching and then warning tone

Hi all I'm having a bit of a problem that I hope someone can help me with. First the details, I have a MBP bought in late '07 and running Tiger. I was doing full backups using "Backup" and I also had Safari, iTunes, and Word open. I briefly switched to my other account using fast user switching and when I returned to the original account the whole screen had a blue tint to it. Like the color profile was off. This has happened before and a restart usually cures it, I haven't restarted yet but I am fairly certain it will correct the problem this time too. But is there anyway to prevent this? My second question is the one I'm more worried about. It also has happened before but usually when using more CPU intensive applications. When I went to System Preferences and opened up the display preferences in an attempt to correct the previous problem I heard a very loud tone. Like some type of warning tone, it was loud enough that it startled me. I had iTunes playing and after the tone the music got very quiet but relaunching it brought it back to normal. I'm just wondering is this some type of warning tone? Is it something I should be concerned about? Besides the music everything else seemed unaffected, although the previous times that this has happened usually when using handbrake there was noticeable problems after the tone (like applications crashing). All of these problems are gone after the computer is restarted though. Does anyone have any insight on these issues? Thank you.
    -James

OK I ran TechTool and everything passed except for the volume scan. Then I checked this with Disk Utility and the HD failed for a few minor reasons, like invalid block count. I repaired it using the fsck -fy command in single user mode. The computer seems a little faster now. I don't know if this error is related to the beep in any way, I may try talking to an Apple genius to see if they know. Since it seems like pretty minor errors I'm not too worried about it but it does seem to be happening often. The last time I had this error was when I posted a question here about it which I just checked was on March 1st. So this error happened again after a little more than 2 weeks which seems excessive to me. Any thoughts?

  • Amber Nokia Message Tone and volume settings

I really like the photo updates and ability to block phone calls in the new amber lumia.
however, something I noticed immediately after receiving some texts is that the Nokia Message Tone was changed. Slightly different tone as well as sounding about 10 times quieter! I always had the volume set at 15/30 and I could usually hear it even if I was in a next-door room to the phone. Now I cannot even hear it most of the time in my pocket!
Another suggestion, I would make, and it's always been before the update; is making to ability set two different volumes. One for ringer and another for media. I always had to turn volume down when listening to music, etc before. Then turned back up when I finished so the ringer would be set.
thanks, ps. i need to find my headphones so i can try out the fm radio! It was total false advertising by allphones/nokia that it was on the original features list! Internet radio IS NOT fm radio!!

Firstly, the features you are requesting are more to do with Microsoft than Nokia.
Secondly, it has been requested thousands of times by othr windowsphone user. Yuo can add your name to the petition onthe Microsoft site using the link below.

Used the right memory according to page, both for my iMac and MacBook Pro, iMac worked, MacBook Pro didn't start (warning tone).
    Any idea?

I suggest you buy your memory from OWC or DataMem. Both guarantee the memory works or will replace it if it does not, no questions asked, within their 30 day return period. I've used both for over 20 years, and no complaints.

  • E7 "warning tones" annoying "click" when typing on...

This may not apply to all language versions of the E7, but when typing in Taiwan Chinese, once you've typed in the "Zhuyin" symbols and are given a choice of different Chinese to select, if you scroll down to the Chinese and hit "enter" it will make an annoying "click" every time you select the word. Otherwise, you have to disable warning tones to use the keyboard or use the "number select" method not to hear the "click". I don't see what's the purpose of having a "warning tone" when one is typing and selecting words.

Thanks. I have tried this lots of times but no joy.
Im pretty certain it only seems to be happening when I am using Outlook......

I cant seem to find the folder for the tones anywhere...

    it can't be done, unfortunately

  • E63 Low battery warning tone

It seems that I am not getting low battery warning from my phone. Please advise how to set it up. It is an E63 phone. Thanks

Within profiles, have you set warningtones off?

  • 5700 Xpress Music and strange warning tone

Just got this phone and over all it's great. But when you change to a different Profile for example, on all other Nokia's you get the standard "beep" when you activate the new Profile. On the 5700 you get a "ding" or half beep. Not sure if its my phone or not. Anyone have this model yet to test yours out for me.
    Thanks

Have had mine for a few days. I tried what you mentioned and determined the 'ding' you get is related to the setting (e.g. if you select SILENT then you don't get ANY 'ding' and if you select OUTDOOR you get a loud ding).
    Hope that helps.

  • Loop recording and warning tones ?

    Hi all,
I am using flash encoder 3.1 from my truck as I travel around the UK http://www.truckcam.tv
and have a few questions for things I can't find in the software. I would like to be able to loop record
as I stream ?  This will help me if I have a crash in my truck to have it on file. The 2nd thing I would
like it a way to have a audible alarm when it is trying to get connection, this would let me know
I have lost my 3G connection as while driving my truck I cant watch the screen all the time..

    http://www.truckcam.tv
TruckCam is live monday to friday from around 4am "UK time"

This feature has been sort of removed in Logic 8, now it will record takes compiling all your passes into a folder which you can then unpack to new tracks. You can also record in "replace" mode which will stack all regions onto one track and mute them. After that you use the command track->new for overlapping regions and the stacked regions will be placed on one track each.

  • Ring tone of choice -Nokia Lumia 520

After downloading music on my phone, it was practically impossible to use it as a ringtone despite concerted effort used after downloaded Nokia ring tone maker. Is this a general issue peculiar to all Lumia 520 or probably my phone alone and would appreciate a resolve from any quarter. Thank you.
