"NOKIA WINDOWS PORTABLE DEVICE DRIVER" on PC Suite...

I just upgraded my pc suite from 6.82 to 6.83. I have Windows Media Player11 installed. Almost the PC Suite setup was complete... Just when windows found a new hardware called "NOKIA WINDOWS PORTABLE DEVICE". But for full installation it requirs the prefered drivers to be installed. But it didn't found that i guess ! So it showed me an error msg.."The device can't be inslled" So, I opened device manager and unistalled "N70"(My phone) under portable devices. Then I reconnected my phone...and started Add new hardware wizard...At last the portable device installed ..But then I got another msg..which says..In future this device may not work properly !
Then I reopened device manager and under portable devices i found N70 which was installed succesfully..but the main one "Nokia windows portable devices" had an exclamanation mark and the status was "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" ! So...what the hell is this and if i had to download the previous version again..then how could i ?

Same here - Windows XP, Nokia N70, PC Suite 6.83. Very annoying. Found that the answer was to uninstall software and throw PC out of Window. Drove over phone then dropped it from an upstairs window. Finally plunged phone into icy water and cursed it until green in the face.
Also, found out that reinstalling the software seemed to cure it. Had to go to device manager first and delete the Nokia N70 device that Windows had placed under 'Portable devices'

  • N80 vista x64 portable device driver

    Hi,
When connecting the N80 to USB and selecting "Media Player" mode, vista doesnt find an appropriate driver. I installed nokia suite 6.83. I remember that this worked at somepoint, but I somehow managed to delete the nokia n80 entry via uninstall from the Device Manager->Portable Devices. It now shows up under Device Manager->Other Devices with an "exclamation mark". If I right-click and do an "Update Driver Software...", vista doesnt find anything. Forcing it to use the "Portable Devices->Nokia Windows Portable Device Driver" doesnt really help either: windows media player 11 doesnt show the device to sync with.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    I would try re-installing the PC-suite.

  • WDM upper filter for "Windows Portable Devices" device class

    Hi folks,
I have a WDM filter driver, based on WDK toaster sample, that I am using to filter portable devices (mainly Phones), as upper filter. During AddDevice phase, I am querying device properties (such Description, Manufacturer and so on) and then attaching
to device. I can see the IRP_MN_START_DEVICE, which I send down to next lower driver after setting a completion routine.
This is working fine on most of the machines I am testing on, but on some systems (every XP and some Windows 7 and Server 2008), when I send the IRP_MN_START_DEVICE down to next driver, I get a STATUS_DEVICE_CONFIGURATION_ERROR, so this is preventing the
device from being installed in the first place.
I have managed to overcome this error by editing the hardware ID registry key for the device and creating "UpperDriverOk" and "KernelModeClientPolicy" values, setting them to 1.
This way the device starts without issues and I can filter it as normal.
Now, I am aware of Portable Devices being managed by an UMDF driver, but does that explains the issue with Start Device phase?
I haven't found any differences between those systems with the issue and those that are working fine without needing the "registry values" workaround.
Is there any system setting or service configuration that might be helping (or ruining) this filtering scenario?
Would it be possible to apply the "KernelModeClientPolicy" workaround for the whole system and not separately for every single Phone device?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi Kumar, thanks for your response.
By "inbox WPD driver" you mean the 3rd party driver that controls the WPD device, right?
Is that policy mandatory? Because when I plug my Nokia Lumia 520, I don't see that value set in registry.
Anyway, what I would like to know is, why is IRP_MN_START_DEVICE failing in Server 2008, and working fine in Windows 7, with the same device and the same WDM filter?
    Thanks!

  • TS1538 iPhone 5 and Windows 7 device driver not being recognized

I've de-installed in the correct order and re-installed all Apple software for Windows 7 x64 box.
I've manually added paths to the device driver.
    I've re-scanned device manager.
I've gone through 4 different kbb articles.
Used 4 different USB ports on the Front Panel of this box.
I've restarted, stopped, started the Apple Mobile Device Service.
I've rebooted 15x, my Alienware R3 laptop works just fine.
I can see the iPhone 5 in iTunes, and this problem has been occurring with my iPhone 4.
Devices and Printers lists the iPhone and Apple Mobile Device USB driver without any conflicts on the exterior.
If you go into properties boom Unvailable. I've turned off every shield in Avast. I only have 1 A/V.
    What else can I do?
The rig is a custom built i7 3770s, MSI motherboard, 16gb DDR 3 RAM, USB 3 support etc. I've tried everything... why won't my iPhone get recognized? I seriously do not want to wipe the box for a device driver. Does RDP software create conflicts with USB devices? I have a couple installed.

    Hi Allan,
I am using 11.0.4.4 version of iTunes.

  • Windows Vista: Device driver was not successfully installed.

This is my first post and I apologize in advance if this topic has been brought up before.
The issue is a new one for me -- I've had no problems running my iPhone on Vista until recently when it stopped showing up in my Computer window. Confused, I checked iTunes to see if it was recognized and lo and behold -- no problems there. I plugged it into my Macbook and had no issues there at all, so it's not the phone itself. I did a little Google search and exhausted what I perceive to be at the very least the basic "fixes". I uninstalled the Apple iPhone drivers from Device Manager, unplugged the USB connection after ejecting via iTunes, and then proceeded to reboot. After the boot had completed - I plugged the iPhone back in -- it was picked up and the installation of the drivers began. I had my hopes up and figured it would work, but then I got the following error message: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v37/xthroughmyeyesx/Capture.jpg
The Apple Mobile Device USB Driver installed successfully without a hitch, the Digital Still Camera part... not so much. If anyone has possible fixes or any information behind this at all, it'd be much appreciated. Thanks already for your time.

I'm having exactly the same problem. I think there are some issues with Vista and Iphone. Please let us know if someone has a solution to this.

  • Ipod touch device driver

    Hello,
I have an old PC that still meets all the specs required for the ipod touch, but when I tried to plug it in a message popped up on itunes saying that the device driver was too old. So I looked at this help topic:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306640
Following its instructions I uninstalled itunes after everything else seemed correct, then proceeded to delete all itunes related software. I reinstalled itunes 7.5 but it won't reinstall a driver for some reason, so now when I plug in the ipod nothing happens. I checked again and there is no driver, but the help topic doesn't say what to do if you are missing USBAAPL.sys, it only says to check to see if you have it.
Where can I get the windows XP device driver for my new ipod?
    Thanks

  • Mtp device driver installation on nokia 5800 fails

when i connect my nokia 5800 in media transfer mode, windows try to find the drivers for the mtp device, but it always fails no matter what i have tried. i need to fix this.
    Greece Nokia X6 RM-559 v40.0.002

    Hi,
I have gotten my Nokia 5800 to work in all connection types.
Firstly, I had updated my phone to the latest firmware available to me via NSU (v31.0.101), and made a back up of my contacts and memory card.
    1. Uninstalled Nokia PC suite, Cable driver, and PC connectivity (might not have got the exact names right).
    2. Ran the Nokia PC suite cleaner.
    3. Restarted the PC.
    4. Formatted the memory card.
    5. Did a hard reset on the phone (green button + red button + camera button - until country selection pops up during the power up of the phone)
    6. Installed Nokia PC suite (latest version).
    7. Connected the 5800 to the PC in the default connection, and let all the drivers install.
All the drivers, including the MTP USB device driver installed successfully. To be on the safe side, I changed the connection type from the phone toall the different connections to make sure it installed.
Also run the app update application first before restoring backups and re-installing applications.
Let me know if this helps.
    Thanks.

  • N95 device driver conflict with windows Vista Home...

When I connect my N95 to laptop and check in device drivers it comes up with a problem against the N95 mobile phone with the following windows message. windows does not offer a solution to this message either.
Message reads:Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
This may also be the cause of nokia software update not detecting the phone as connected, even though Nokia PC Suite does detect phone?
I am usig latest update for wondows Home premium, and Nokia PC Suite.Operating system:
    Microsoft Windows Vista
    Build 6000
    No service pack installed
    Language: English
    Language for non-Unicode programs: English
    Locale: English
    Input language: English
    Nokia PC Suite:
    Version 6.83.14.1
    Language: English
    Connectivity Cable Drivers:
    Version 6.83.9.0
    PC Connectivity Solution:
    Version 7.7.10.0
    Microsoft Outlook:
    Version 11.0
    Build 8118
    No supported Bluetooth stack found

I have exactly the same problem listed above. I have a n95 and a pc with vista home premium. I cannot sync though pc suite says the n95 is connected. No sync setting appear when I click that button. I cannot update the phone software as it doesn't recognise the phone is connected and the device driver is disabled. I had a 6300 installed so I uninstalled that and it made no difference.

  • E72 / Win7 64-bit Ovi Suite - MTP USB device drive...

Just installed Ovi Suite (most recent version) on Windows 7 64-bit for my E72.
Windows installs all drivers, however 'MTP USB device ' driver fails to install.
What does this driver do ? And can this be solved ?

    I am running OVI 2.2.0.245 on 64 bit W7 and Office 2007 and using a 5800ExpreMusic..
I have experienced all the problems mentioned above. After 2 days of try and error end nearly getting crazy I found a solution at least for my situation. However I can imagine many more people are maybe in the same situation.
At first I had been using the USB ports in front of the machine's cabinet. None of them worked for a longer period than 3 minutes and I always lost the connection to the mapserver. Until I found out that each two ports in front of the cabinet share the capacity of a single USB connection at the back of the system. So I moved the USB from one of the front ports the a back port. Now that the full Capacity of a USB port can be used I no longer suffer any problems with OVI.
    It works great.
However it is a shame Nokia users must find out what Nokia could have told its users.

  • Windows Can't find Device Driver Softw

I just got a Zen 6GB media player, and I installed the Media Explorer software from the cd that came with it, charged the player via the computer, but I can't load anything on to the player because everything says it is still not connected. The reason for this seems to be that when I plug it in, windows cannot install the device's driver software. It starts searching for the drivers, but can't find them. In window's device manager it lists under Portable Devices a MTP Device, but it has the yellow exclamation point on it. And when you look at the devices details it says "This Device cannot start. (Code 0)"
Does anyone have any idea if there is some way I can get the drivers elsewhere and point windows to them? I'm not sure what to do. All the related software says there is no device connected, since the computer won't recognize it without any driver information I guess. Any help would be very much appreciated.
I have Windows Vista and everything is up to date as far as I am aware.
    Thanks?

I do not have the Driver folder in this folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support like it says I should and my Apple Iphone appears in Portable Devices only, not in Universal devices. I tried uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it. My Iphone is still not recognized by Itunes when I plug it in. I can see my photos in the internal storage folder on my Windows 7 system though. So I know my PC sees the device. The Iphoneis an Iphone 4 with IOS 6 installed. It was working fine until I had to reinstall my Windows system. Now Itunes does not see it. I've uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled it (64bit) to no avail. Where is the Driver folder article TS1538 talks about?

Sorry I missed your post. Anyone else with the same issue should find useful resources at Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
