How can I make a timer that turns on two relay channels where each channel can be on for different times of 0 to 10 seconds user selectable

I am trying to make it clearer, I use a scxi-1161 and two of its relay channels to operate an MOV. I want to be able to apply power to two different pins on the MOV using two seperate relay channels.. but I want to be able to have it automatically cycle the two pins on and off by what time (in seconds) the user selects.. and the selection can be changed during cycling.

Sorry I can't convert back to 5.1, but here are some pictures that might help. The mechanical action for the Start and Stop buttons is Latch When Released. In LabView 5.1, the While loop doesn't have a Stop if True option so you'll need to add an inverter between the terminal for the Stop button and the Continue terminal of the While loop.

Time Characteristics: MTD and Yesterday (How to adjust for different times

Hi,
I have this report which runs daily without any user input based on
Current Calendar Day (SAP Exit)-1 [for column 1 on the report]
and
Current Calendar Month [for column 2 on the report]
If today I want to run this report for the Jan 20, 2006 how best can this be done without the need for writing ABAP code?
i.e. I want on the report, column 1 as Yesterday(Jan 19, 2006)
and column 2 MTD (Jan 20, 2006)
Any help?

The restriction on key figures is done in a similar way as the restriction on characteristics.
I guess that you have a characteristic 0CALDAY "Calendar Day", which is restricted by variable 0DAT. By this you have defined the subset of your InfoProvider, on which you want to report.
Now, add the key figure which you want to restrict by a fixed date. Select "Edit" from the key figure's context menu and drag 0CALDAY upon the key figure. Restrict 0CALDAY by "January, 29th 2006". Add the same key figure a second time and restrict it by variable 0CALMONTH. Add the same key figure a third time and restrict it by the fixed time frame "January, 1 2006" to "January, 20th 2006".
This should work as you intended. If you have more than one key figure which has to be restricted in this way, it could be more appropriate to create a second structure with the above mentioned restrictions instead of restricting the key figures directly.

Select query on key field for different time format

Hello Experts,
I am working in Sender ABAP proxy <===> SAP PI 7.31 JAVA <===> Oracle database.
Oracle Database stores all records of material sold where the date is maintained in 01/15/2010 01:48:20 which has date and time format.
In ECC , I will be sending a proxy request with system date as the only field and this would be key field to select all the material records sold for 01/15/2010 in Oracle Database i.e. Select statement.As we can observe that the system data of ECC does not have time stamp.
I am clueless how to get this done in Message Mapping or in some way? If I maintain just the date stamp of ECC as the key field, would I be
able to fetch all the records from Database?

Ooopps the names are confusing. but very close..
Yes I changed my receiver structure and added <compareOperation> under the key field Material Number. In the Message Mapping , I assigned a constant EQ to <compareOperation>.
Now tested the proxy will value of Material with no 100 , expecting a response from database for Material 100. But getting error as below.

I would like to display two system clocks for different time zones

I would like to display a couple of time zones on my system clock. Can this be done? Like having my current location date and time and another showing the date and time for Madrid, Spain.
If this can't be done, how do I add clocks (or calendars) to my desktop?

In the widgets screen, click the + sign in the lower left. This should show you the widgets you have. World clock is the one your looking for and may not be on the first screen. There's an arrow on the far right side to slide to the next screen. When you find World Clock just click on it and it will add a clock. Click again and it adds another one on top of the first. Grab the clock anywhere on it's display and drag it to the desired location.

Can I set my ringer to use different modes for different times of the day?

Is there a way to set up me Curve to viberate during the bussiness day and automaticaly change to ringing at a certain time, say 5 pm?

You can Remote Lock his iPad with Find My iPad using a computer at whatever time you like.

Several questions for first time Aperture user

Hello all, first time user here. Downloaded the trial and am thinking about purchasing the full version. I have a few questions here;
1. If I click buy to get the serial number, after authorizing the program, will the "Trial" word disappear from all the menus and setting? And will the library name changed from Aperture 3 Trial Library automatically to just Aperture 3 Library?
2. When I start importing photos from camera into A3, will I be able to use iPhoto to view or edit if I delete the original iPhoto library? In short, will iPhoto be able to share the same library when I start using A3?
3. After importing all existing photos from iPhoto, should and can I delete my iPhoto library?
4. Will I be able to use and install A3 on both my laptop and iMac at the same time or is it restricted to 1 computer?

I don't think it will change the library name, but you should create a new library and import the trial library anyway IMHO

In short: no, but you can view the images from one library in the other and drag them in if you like.

You can, but wait until you know everything is working right and backed up.

Yes the EULA allows a desktop and a laptop but not simultaneously. (If they're on the same network, it won't allow you to run them simultaneously.)

Replacing DSO with InfoObject for storing time-dependent master data

Hi Gurus,
currently I am storing time-dependent contract items in a DSO. The posting items are enriched with this master data as well as some other transaction data into another consolidated DSO, which includes the time-dependency (valid from & valid to) as well for better performance. But this means that we will have a large number of records, because 1 new posting item could end up with few posting items more due to the versions of contract item.
Since there are many posting items (>50 millions yearly, daily peak 1-2 million) and the complexity with delta management, I am considering whether to use an InfoObject for storing the contract items. The number of contract items are not many, about 300,000 after migration and about 10,000 each month.
Hence, I would like to ask whether this approach is feasible? Is there a size limit for a master data InfoObject?

hi,
The Time dependent MD object will create the same number of records for the contract item (maybe more) as each contract item will have different record for different time frame.
this can be better explained with example.
let us say you have 1 contract item with 2 entries one valid from 2007-2008 and the other from 2008 onwards.
In DSO this will create 2 records, in time dependent MD object it would also create 2 records.
In the infopackage for the MD you would need to provide the interval (time range) for the MD.
if you provide it as 2007 till 2999 then two records will be created one with 2007-08 and other valid from 2008-999.
However as there would be other contract items which would have lower date say 2006 then this contract item would create 3 rows, 1 row for 2006-07 with blank values, 2nd for 2007-08 and 3rd for 2008-999. This way it has more number of records than the DSO.
In case of MD object you may not be able to delete data as well in future if the object is used in some other place.
There will be many pros and cons of the approach you are thinking and you would have to weigh them and decide.

The principles of this architecture are to build a BW with separate layers (PSA, ODS or cubes) and independant domains (for instance: country, company etc;). In simple word and in your case, it could be an architecture with independant infoProviders (and data flows) for each company so that a problem occuring for one dataload (and one company) doesn't impair the dataload of another company. You could still do cross company reports using multiproviders but each company is totally independant in term of dataloads and data.

Icsy - An Alarm for Power Nappers

This is another little script in my collection of useless software.
I often find myself wanting to take a 20 minute nap at about midnight because I'm too tired to continue working, but know that I have a ton of stuff due by the morning. Previous attempts at this with an ordinary alarm clock typically end up causing me to shut the alarm off without having fully woken up. I imagine that there are tons of programs out there that help solve this, but what the heck...

icsy allows you to set an alarm for some time and then forces you to wake up by asking simple math questions. If you don't answer the questions correctly in the allotted time period, the snooze alarm will go off.
Sample usage:
$ icsy -t 2 -s 5 -n2
setting alarm for 2 seconds
press enter when awake
starting snooze timer for 5 seconds
are you __really__ awake?
what is 5-53? 0
what is 82+20? 0
0/2 correct... try again
what is 34+90? 124
what is 28+47? 75
:) everything was correct
now get back to work!
You can change:
- the amount of time until the alarm goes off
- the snooze alarm time
- the number of questions asked
- the alarm file to play (uses mplayer by default)
- or you can override the alarm with a custom command
There's no configuration file support yet, but I'll add that in later.
Also, there's an unfortunate little bug due to Python's Popen that captures Ctrl-C and sends it to mplayer, thus allowing you to inadvertently kill the alarm. I'd like to solve this problem eventually, but I don't think it's a major deal-breaker right now.

Yeah, the IcsyQuestion class is stupidly easy to modify. I was planning to do more with it, but I decided to set that aside for a later date. I was thinking about asking multiple types of questions since I've also been known to wake up, work on some math or physics problem for ten minutes, and then fall back asleep. When I add configuration file support, perhaps it would be a good idea to let you specify your own question class (similar to how PyTyle does things).

A long time ago, I thought of writing a daemon that started a timer every time it detected no activity. If that timer reaches some specified time (e.g. 20 minutes), it starts an alarm. Maybe I'll try to incorporate that, or spin it off as a new project.
I've never been able to shutdown or restart without being awake, but that's an interesting idea.
It's interesting to see that so many people sleep through their alarms like I do. I guess I'm not alone.

Is there any way to sort the alarms differently in the Clock app? I have alarms for multiple days during the week, all of which overlap each other. It makes no sense to me that the alarms sort by time and not day. Thanks!

It allows you to download it offline, which is what I used.

Adjust for daylight time saving different for just one user

I justed started a new job and I am introduced in a new Windows Terminal Server environment. We use Windows 2003 Server, Exchange 2003, a Sun Fire V210 server and SunRay 270 TC's. The SUN part is totally new for me, so forgive me ;-)
We have one user that has an Outlook (2003) problem. She saw that after the 28th of March, when the summertime here in the Netherlands is active, her appointments are shifted for an hour. I checked as a Windows administrator the Windows TS she is working on and it has the correct TZ(GMT+1, Amsterdam) and the option for Adjust Daylight Time Saving is enabled.
Then I checked with her in Outlook, whether this setting is reflected correctly. In Outlook I went to Tools, options, Calendar Options, Time Zone and the checkbox 'Adjust for Daylight Time Saving' is disabled! That is strange since this should be the setting of the server and as I already wrote, this is correct. Ofcourse therefor she can't enabled it here. I let her login with her id card on a different TC 270 client and the same problem there. Than I started on my laptop a remote desktop connection to the Windows TS and we checked again. The strange thing is, now the option is enabled and all her appointments are correct after the 28th of March.
We have checked with all the other users and nobody else has this problem. We have deleted her Windows profile totally but this didn't solve it.
Since it only happens when using TC's, I reckon the problem is with the Sun TC's or the SunRay Server.
Does anybody has a clue what this could be? The Sun Fire doesn't save user specific information, does it?

Ok, now I am a bit confused. I saw the page http://wikis.sun.com/display/SRWC2dot2/Home and looking at that, it seems the SRWC software is Windows software, We have not installed any Windows software from SUN. So, also no SRWC software on Windows. I thought the SRWC was a software component on the SunRay server?
Maybe I did not explain the problem correctly, but the we have several thin clients, SunRay 270's. They are connected to the Sunray Server, Sun Fire v210. This server redirects them to our Windows Terminal Server. We use Exchange Server 2003 on our Windows 2003 Servers.
We have one user with the problem. She puts in her ID card in the TC, she is redirected to our WTS, she logs in in the Window login prompt. She starts Outlook and sees in there with Tools, Options, Calendar Options, Time Zone, that the Adjust Daylight Time Saving is disabled. Although this is on the WTS server enabled, system wide.
When she doesn't use a TC but starts a remote desktop connection from a Windows machine to the WTS, it works fine.
Again I apologise for my lack of knowledge on the SUN side of this.

I wonder if it is possible to use several UMTS access points (APN) for different services.
situation:
1) The iPhone is used for business AND private purposes.
2) The company's mobile telephone contract includes a APN, which is only usable by the employees' mobile phones.
problem / question:
Is it possible to define two access points in the iPhone, that for example the exchange account uses the company's APN, while all the other apps use the standard APN of the carrier?
Problem is, that some iPhone's benefits like Push-Messages are blocked by the carrier's APN. Now, I have to switch the access point by installing the appropriate profile every time I want to check my e-mails or vice versa for using "normal" apps.

Thanks for your help! This really helps a lot! We actually only want to replace the autonmous access point with the controller solution and make one WLAN available at another site. From what I can see, this is possible with our current solution - we just need to switch from Layer 2 to Layer 3 and purchase the corresponding amount of supported Access Points (I think we should be able to get some refurbished ones).
Am I correct in assuming that the Access Points we want to replace (AIR-AP1230B-E-K9 with 802.11b radio only) cannot be upgraded to lightweight ones? Since if I understood document http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/conversion/lwapp/upgrade/guide/lwapnote.html correctly, this is not possible with access points that only have 802.11b radios.
Regarding the switch from Layer 2 to Layer 3: Do we really only need to perform the steps I described in my first post?
And one last question regarding REAP. As far as I understood this is only needed when local traffic needs to be maintained in case the connection to the WLC becomes unavailable. So we really don't need it if we want to access resources that are only available over the WLC?
