NOKIA X6 16GB AND COME WITH MUSIC PIN

Recently I purchased a Nokia X6 16 GB phone from SLOT SYSTEMS, Lagos Nigeria but my device does not have a come with music activation PIN and the dealer told me the model does not come with such facility. Is this correct or I have been cheated. What are the options available to me to get this PIN?

Does it say come with music on the box?
If it didn't say it on the box then you have the more common (and lower priced) standard X6 sales package. It does not come with free music and the service cannot be added to it.
If it did say it then you should have got the pin and you'll need to complain to the dealer again. If they won't help you complain to nokia care (if they operate in your county) or seek legal advice. Also keep in mind that your phone may have been imported from another country so CwM may not actually be available in your country.

How do I retrieve my comes with music pin code if I have lost it?

What is the circumstance of the error? Have you changed something related in the PC or perhaps done a system restore to a previous date? Has anything happened to the phone like a software update?
It appears for whatever reason that your PC and/or phone is not being recognised as a CWM device. If the phone is at fault, formatting the memory card usually helps. I'm not sure what could be causing the issue if it is PC-related, but perhaps try this (it is actually the solution for a different issue, but it might work):
If you are using Windows XP 32/64:
Uninstall the Nokia Music application. Once removed from the PC, delete or rename the MDataStore.db3 file in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase. Then reinstall the Nokia Music client again and attempt to download the music content.
If your are using Windows Vista 32/64:
Uninstall the Nokia Music application. Once removed from the PC, delete or rename the MDataStore.db3 file in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase.  Then reinstall the Nokia Music client again and attempt to download the music content.

The link below shows all Comes With Music compatible phones. This does not mean that the phones automatically include a Comes With Music subscription. You have to check the box if there is a sticker that indicates the phone contains the subscription.

  • 5800 Comes with Music [PIN/Activation code] is the...

OK - bit of background first
Some months back I brought a 5800 that did not 'COME WITH MUSIC' - I've got it all set up nicely, got all the apps I wanted installed, email settings correct, games etc etc
Recently - just for fun - I entered a couple of codes on the Pepsi ringpull promotion to win a 5800 'Comes with Music' - & guess what, got an email saying I've actually won !!! (haven't got it yet though)
Now I know I can't use the PIN/Activation code from the 5800 'comes with music' phone with my 'older' 5800 (I believe the code is 'locked' to the IMEA of the phone or something like that - can any1 confirm this ??) - but what I'd like to know is how long have I got before the activation code is 'invalid'.
What I mean is that IF I don't use it then my 12months 'free download' subscription will not start - but if I leave it for - say a year - will the code become invalid & I lose out on all those lovely free downloads ??
The way I'm thinking is that I could keep the new one locked away & if/when my present phone gets too badly damaged, or the screen get's scratched, then I can 'backup everything to PC' (Nokia Suite) & reload it into the new one THEN use the activation code & get a years free download
Or would it be better to transfer from the old phone to the new phone now - use that with my free downloads & 'factory reset' my old phone & sell it on/recycle it ??

  • Nokia 5310 Comes With Music problem

I've had my Nokia 5310 and Comes with Music since December and have yet to figure out how to transfer the music I've gotten from Comes with Music.
I've spent aeons on the phone to Nokia customer services and we have figured out so much as it's not the memory card, the phone, the registration with comes with music, or my computer.
I've managed to go through Windows Media Player and transfer OLD music to my phone which plays as normal. When I transfer a comes with music song, it says there is an error. Then I check my phone and the song is on there... But when I press it to play it says, "recieving activation key" and "subscribe to packet data first". I took a stab at what this means and got personal configuration settings for MMS and Sych and Streaming but they dont seem to work, because I still can't send picture messages. Go figure.
Can anyone help? I payed for this and it's not working, no one seems to know whats wrong.
    Ana

If you can't sent pictures thru mms, then its not properly configured for your phone. I would advice you to give your provider a call & have the configuration for packet services sent to you, or give you instruction on how to do it with your phone. Ask also what services are being offered to you.

  • Nokia 5530 comes with music? were is this pin code...

Got it for xmas and it says COMES WITH MUSIC i only got the warranty info instruction manual ovi disk and vodafone`s sim package no scratchcard or anythhing?!

    Just sent this.
I purchased a Nokia 5530 from yourselves on the back of Nokia's Comes With Music promotion. On their website, they state in multiple places that this phone is part of that promotion. They even explicitly state that phones that are compatible with the service and are bought from Carphone Warehouse (http://www.nokiamusic.co.uk/#/faq/) are part if the CWM service. Yet, there was no CWM literature in the phone's box nor was their the PIN number necessary for the service. I contacted the local store and was told, categorically, that Nokia's information was incorrect and that the CWM service is exclusive to Phones4U. This is in direct contravention of the Nokia's own information, the people running the service.
I am not the only one to have this problem. Many dissastisified customers have posted to the Nokia's support forums about this. Some bought phones from you, actually recieved the PIN number that they were promised only to have it rejected by Nokia's Music Store.
What is going on, what is the deal here. Are you operating a regional thing, customers in some areas get the service, other's don't. If you buy from a shop you get an invalid pin, if you buy through the website you get no pin at all?
    Let's see how they respond.

  • Nokia N95 'comes with music'

    Hi
I've recently bought an 8gb N95 on a contract with Orange, from phones 4 u.
I downloaded the Nokia comes with music application on my PC, and attempted to register my mobile.
It asked me to enter the pin number that came with my phone, in the 'comes with music leaflet'.
I do not have a 'comes with music' leaflet.
Does this mean I cannot get access to free songs?
It was the main reason I bought the phone!
    Thanks a lot

You presumed wrong. If you wanted the "comes with music" version you needed to ask for it as not all retailers sell it.  The nokia website shows both versions of the N95 8GB.
The N95 8GB has been available for over a year now but the "comes with music" package has only been available for a month or two.  Most retailers don't sell the "comes with music" version due to it being an older model and more expensive than the standard version.
They won't be able to give you the pass code as the "comes with music" version is more expensive (approx £50) to cover the music licenses.
I believe the only network that is doing the "come with music" version on contract is 3.

  • Comes With Music / Nokia 5800 problems downloading...

I've just got a new 5800 with Comes With Music and I'm having lots of problems! Hopefully you can help?!
Problem 1 - the main problem! Downloads don't add to phone's music library
The main problem is with downloading songs directly using my phone. Songs I download (using the mobile, not the PC) don't get added to my music library, and refreshing the music library dowsn't help. If I go to the music store, select 'options' and 'downloads' I can see a list of all the songs I've downloaded. If I select 'open' I can play the songs (one at a time), but they don't get added to the music library. If I press 'delete', I'm told 'File not found'. When I connect to my PC, I can't see these songs using the Nokia Music software, so can't transfer them to the PC. All very strange. Any ideas for how I can get these songs to add to the library?
Problem 2 - Nokia Music software
This is just irritating rather than anything else. When I plug my phone to my PC and use Nokia Music, the little phone icon has the caption 'Nokia N95'. But the phone I've connected is a 5800! My old phone was an N95...
At first this meant I couldn't sign up to CWM using my pin, because I was told it isn't compatible with this phone. So I had to sign up using the phone rather than the PC, and then use the log-in details on the PC to access music. This has worked and means I can download songs to my PC and transfer them to my phone, but it was a pain to get there.
Problem 3: Nokia Music website doesn't work
To add insult to injury, when I look for some help on the nokiamusic.co.uk website I'm told I need a new flash player. So I download the new flash playe, and I'm still told I need a new flash player. Brilliant. Incidentally, at the bottom of the page it says"Click here if you're quite sure to have Flash Player installed" which is gramatically a lot of nonsense.
I've always got on well with Nokia, but frankly I've had a nightmare week trying to get this new phone up and running and I'm very disappointed with them. The help-line isn't much use either. Anyway, any help on the above would be really greatfully received.

    Hi!
For your first problem, are you accessing Nokia Music Store on your mobile through the webbrowser or via the application in Music Menu? If you are using the web browser, try using the application.
If you are using the application already, have you tried with different access points? (i.e. WLAN, different operator interet access points) Also make sure that you have a memorycard in your phone which is compatible with the device, might be worth trying to re-format it and then try again?
For your third problem, have you tried to access nokia music store through Nokia Music program on your PC? (Click on Store tab). And which browser are you currenlty using to access it?
    Cheers,

  • Numerous problems with Nokia Comes with Music on 5...

    Hello,
I purchased the 5800 just today and was trying out the Music store.
I've encountered several problems and was wondering if anyone else has the same problem
1: After searching for a certain track title, the page displays the first few search results, but I am unable to scroll downwards to the rest of the search results!
2: When I attempt to download many tracks at one go, it seems that some of these tracks get downloaded, while others don't seem to be. I suspect it may be something to do with my phone turning off the screen after I leave it untouched. It seems that the tracks queued after the screen turns off do NOT get downloaded.
3: I've installed the Nokia Music Store on my PC, and signed in using the same account I've set up using my PIN number on my phone. However, everytime I attempt to download a song, I noticed that I have to pay for the songs! Why is that so? I double checked my account details and I already am entitled to a year's subscription of free songs, then why can't I download the songs using Nokia Music on my PC?
Please help, this is really confusing...
    Thanks!

    Hi!
Make sure you are browsing Nokia Music Store in Comes With Music mode, and not Purchase music mode. This is indicated by a button next to the sign in button in Nokia Music.

  • Comes with music on Nokia 5310 just bought Nokia 5...

I have a 5310 comes with music but have just bought a 5800 and was wondering is there any way I can get the music on my 5800, can I change registration from the 5310 to the 5800 ? I have only had the 5310 a few days so I am not sure if there is a way to do this, thank you for any help or advice..

In fact, there are limited circumstances in which you can transfer your account to another phone, but I'm afraid it still doesn't help in this case.
If you buy another Comes With Music phone (it has to come from a Comes With Music sales box, not just any one of the supported models) then you can transfer your existing account to it instead of using the PIN code with it to create a new account. At the moment, that means you could upgrade to an N95 8Gb-CWM or an N96-CWM. Nokia did say that 5800XM-CWMs would be available , but I believe thety have not yet started.
This service is about to be launched in quite a lot of European countries, including France.

  • Comes With Music and (Finnish) Music Store

I have a Nokia N97 mini Comes With Music. There was an upgrade in Finnish Music Store in yesterday (09.09.2010). After that, I can not choose free downloads anymore. Somehow the "Comes With Music" button has disappeared, and every mp3 has a price. I tried to re-join to Ovi Music Unlimited but the client replies that I already have the Comes With Music rights. Any suggestions?

I have had this exact same problem since mid-August some time. Been in contact with the Swedish Nokia Care people and they basically escalated it to some technicians in India. Still waiting for some form of response from them.
Also, can you transfer songs from OVI Music (the software I mean) to your phone? Because I can't do that either (I'm guessing because it requires that I access my account and get the DRM license - but like you pointed out, every mp3 has a price and there are no re-downloads available in my account anymore).
This is extremely frustrating. Sometime in June or July was the last time I could transfer songs from my computer to the phone (well, stuff I've ripped from my own CDs work fine of course, as well as songs that I've had on my phone prior to the CMW-MU switch).

  • Keeping and using the comes with music license onc...

if i buy a comes with music phone, but the online service isn't yet available to my country, can i keep the license and use it once the service is available to my country?
    Greece Nokia X6 RM-559 v40.0.002

    Hi,
Most of the time, the reason behind this issue is that a user has 2 services subscribed into, a Comes With Music service and a Nokia Music Store Service. If you sign up and you are being charged, that indicates that you are on the Nokia Music Store.
The best way to make sure that you are logging in to the correct service, make sure to click on the Comes With Music button and then click sign in. If it so happens that after doing so, you are still being charged, it could be that the username and password for your Comes With Music account is different.
You can ask Nokia Careline to assist you in retreiving these information. You would then receive it thru email with the correct username and the temporary password. The information you need to provide the representative for them to be able to pull up your account detail are:
    *IMEI
    *E-mail address
    *Mobile Number
    Hope this helps.

  • 5130 nokia comes with music & ovi recognizing prob

    Hey!
I just bought nokia 5130 xpress music with nokia comes with music. I followed instructions, installed ovi software etc, but when it comes to nokia comes with music thing, it shows the help for it (turn on phone and put usb cable to usb drive etc), but when i connect phone and press continue, it just refreshes the page, so i think it means that ovi doesn't recognize my phone. PC recoqnizes phone itself as USB Device USB Phone Parent in Wireless Communication Devices category and on location it says : 0 (Nokia 5130c-2). So what I should do to make ovi recognize my phone? I consider myself as advanced user so this is very frustrating .
    and i have tried this:

ps. And of course I have tried reinstall everything and booting everything etc.

  • Suplied activating pin comes with music not valid ...

    Hi there,
Just picked up a brand new X6.
When I try to activate my  one year free "comes with music" theres a message saying my pin is not valid for this region..
I live in the Netherlands, surely that can't be the problem :-)
    Any feedback would be nice.
O and yes I have entered the correct pin, multiple times I must say..
    Thanks in advance
    M

ok i just got the solution:
The Ovi Player, when installing, sometimes defaults to a different Ovi Music store than the one selected. Instead the installer selects the regional settings from the Operating System and sets the Ovi Music Store to that country. If this is the case, manually select the store of the country you wish to log in to.
    Run the following command:
    Start > Run > oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-GB
The en-GB needs to be replaced with the code for the region that you want to be pointed at. See below for all the correct URI commands:
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-GB
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=fr-FR
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=de-DE
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=it-IT
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=es-ES
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=nl-NL
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-IE
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=fi-FI
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=sv-SE
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=da-DK
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=en-AU
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=zh-SG
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=pt-pt
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=nb-no
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=ar-AE
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=de-CH
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=de-AT
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=es-MX
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=pt-BR
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=af-ZA
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=pl-PL
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=hi-IN
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=ms-MY
    oviplayer://musicplayer/?setTerritory=ru-RU
Once you’ve got the corresponding URI:
For Windows XP, Vista Business/Enterprise and Windows 7 users:
    * Start/Orb > Run
    * Copy the URI into the run box and then Enter.
    * Ovi Music Player should launch (or activate, if it’s already running).
    * Wait a few seconds and you should find the Ovi Player now directs to the correct store and, on restart, your homepage will be that store.
    * If you see 'No internet connection...' message, click on the Home button and wait for the new page to load.
    * Even after doing this, you are not able to access the LIVE store, delete the MDataStore.db3 file and start Ovi Music Player again.
    * On the start-up screen, select correct country location
For me its working now ....though its the german store its fine

  • Nokia N96 - "Comes With Music" - Does iiiiit?

I have a question for my N96 about the "Comes With Music" feature. I have downloaded several songs from this site through my phone and i can play them fine, the only problem is the sole reason for downloading them was to use them for message alerts and mainly ringtones but they won't allow this. After i've paid for these tracks i think it's highly unfair that I cannot use them for my own personal use as a riongtone or such like. I can understand not being able to send them to others or burn them due to the copyrights and licences but not even using them as a ringtone! It's a joke in my opinion. Can anyone help me with this? Is there a way around it or can you recommend a decent ringtone website that doesn't rip you off too much?

It's the same with DRM protected music from most sites. The licence allows you to use it for music only, not for public broadcast (i.e. a ringtone).
Any music bought from the nokia music store can be burnt to a CD. Once on a CD it can be ripped back to a PC removing the DRM. This allows you to do anything with your music.
The "comes with music" service is something completely different. This is where you get totally free music from the nokia music store for a year but it can't be burnt to a CD.
To get that service you have to buy a "come with music" model. At the moment only the 5310 and N95 8GB are available with this service and only in select countries.
