  • Battery BL5C charges and discharges very quickly

    Hi,
I am using Nokia 1650, Battery BL5C. This battery fully charges in less than 1 hour(the messgae saying battery fully charged pops-up). And this, so-called fully charged battery discharges very quickly, in a days time and mobile gets switched off. Mobile is used only for making and receiving calls which are very few and also i usually do not use it for playing games on it. (Point is, its not so heavily used to discharge the battery so quickly.)
Is this battery problem or phone's hardware/software problem? I heard its happening to quite a many cell phones.
The mobile phone I used earlier also had this problem.
    Thanks.

    Try to calibrate it.
    1. Run the battery empty.
    2. Charge it without turning the phone on.
    3. Once battery full, turn it on, and try to charge again until you get the full warning.
    4. Let the battery run till dry again
5.Charge without turning the phone on
    6. Boot then charge to full
Battery should be calibrated by then,.

  • Home button unresponsive at times, also very loose?

My 3 month old iPad 2 starting acting up on Wednesday in terms of its home button. I noticed that it was unresponsive or I had to put more pressure on it than normal for it to work. I restarted my iPad, and then it seemed to work for about a day, then went back to being unresponsive or being VERY hard to click. I then called the complimentary 90 day over-the-phone tech support and the genius guided through me on what he called a Hard Reset. I did that, and now it seems to be working very fine (sometimes I might have to click it twice, but other than that it seems to be working). But now I have another problem. After doing the hard reset, my home button seems to be pushed down that you can even feel the glass, and it's very loose (if you put your two fingers on either side, you can literally rock it). Remember now, the home button is now like this because due to a "glitch", I had to put more pressure on the home button than usual. Now, I'm very annoyed on how the home button feels. Can I take it to a local apple store and have them fix it for free of charge (since I still have an active 9 month warranty?) Can they some how "tighten" the home button or make it like new (stiff, non-loose) again AT the store or does it have to be sent away? Can this even be fixed? Any useful response will be great!

If there is an Apple store nearby, make an appointment. If this is determined to be a hardware failure, your iPad will not be repaired, it will be exchanged under warranty at the store right then and there. Immediately before going to the store, update the backup for your iPad in case your iPad is exchanged under warranty.

  • Nokia 930 Charging woes

    Hi,
I recently bought a Lumia 930, great phone, but charging it up seems to be quite problematic. Sometimes i plug it in and it charges at a very slow rate, or not at all. Also I always plug it in before i go to bed, and i sometimes wake up in the morning with it less charge then it had when i plugged it in. See the image attached, as you can see, it procedes to charge up ok (24:00), keeps at full charge for a while (2:00-5:00), then suddenly procedes to drop in charge (5:00-08:00) then i unplug the charger, and it stops losing charge...
And yes i am using the charger provided with the phone, and have also tried other ones, all the same.

I have had a bad time with this as well - made much worse by a shoddy attitude from EE.
Basically it complains of slow charging and that I should use the official charger even when using the official charger. It also blew out the induciton plate on the 2nd day. And gets red hot.
Read if you are interested about EE (Bath Southgate)
At the end of July we lost all power, routers etc. in our office. As we were going for several weeks and my old HTC HD2 was a bit hard work for reading e-mail, we decide to buy some new phones. Went into EE in Bath and despite them not having the 15 sreis phablet I had wnated I bought a Nokia 930 (which amonst other things, the sales guy assured me ran Cortana); [I was also offered a free extra charger, bluetooth speakers - which I never got ].
Paid full price (no new contract) took it back to the office charged it on the induction plate (got very hot). On the 2nd day the induction pad failed. Went on holiday in a tent and noticed that every thing I tried to charge it with came up with slow charging and some silly text about a hppy phone and using the manufacturer's charge and cable. (Even when using a battery pack that keeps an Ipad happy still got the message). On a breif visit to a pub with a wall socket I saw the mesasge form the charger but thought little of it. Towards the end of the holiday I visited another location with sockets and got the same problem. During one of (many) chats with support [initilally we had a lot of problems with the internet as well] I was todl that they couldn't help me over the phone but if I took it back to the EE store they would be able to replace it.
Today I got into Bath (30 mile round trip), went to the store and was shocked to be told that they had a 14 day policy and would not replace the phone. They offered to send it for repair with a minimum wait of 2 weeks (remember my wife and I had spent £950 on two phones earlier in the month and my phone had never worked properly and I had been told by support that I coudl take it back when I next got to the shop - i.e. the problem had been motified.. T-mobile support were actually alot more helpful even suggesitng that I followed up with my suggestion that I should stop the credit card and that the approach of the store was very disappointing (apparently they woudl normally offer a loan phone to cover returns).
Oddly the guy (and his manager) in the shop didn't want to test the phonebut jsut said that they believed me - sounds like the problem is known.
Anyway, I will try a hard reset (and all the pain of that) as t-mobile support said that sometiems sorts out Nokias.
But I storngly suggest that if you want a phone you don't buy from a EE shop who don't mention their poor return policy when you are buying; Amazon would have taken it back and they wouldn't expect me to pay full price for what will be in effect a refurbished phone; poeple wonder why the High Street is dying.
[Teh guy in shop seemed to think that their "policy" was the law - which it isn't. I thik in this day and age a 2 week loss of your phone in the 1st month doesnt count as a reoasnbale repair or being of merchatnabel quality]
    Nice phone though.

  • Charge Connector Port

Why has Apple changed to a different type of charge connectors on the new MacBook Air?  I have found it very inconvenient because now I cannot use the chargers of my other MacBooks for my new McBook Air. It is a big turn off for me for Apple products.  In fact, I would like to exchange my new MacBook Air for an old one with the old charge connector!

This has happened to me twice now.... The first time I was under full warrenty and they had to replace the power jack and the mother board (since it shorted once I tried to plug it in not realizing what happened.
If your computer didn't short, you just need to get the new part and install it (or you might be able to glue it back on?). The part apparently comes in some "Miscellanous" pack of parts that also includes things like stickers. It took them forever to figure out what part they needed to order.
Hopefully you can get yours up and running again. I'm going to try and convince Lenovo to just send another part out and get someone to install it. Quite honestly, I think it is unacceptable that a $1800 laptop can have a tiny plastic part break and destroy the whole laptop. The thing is made of carbon fiber but can't take normal wear and tear.... the last lenovo I'll ever buy.

  • Nokia new charger is **bleep**

My nokia N91 charger only charges the fone when it feels like it. I'll pug it right b4 i go to bed and in the morning, it still hasn't charged. Personally, i think it's a design flaw because it also happens to one of my mates who has a different type of nokia that uses the new type charger and he has had to buy a second charger yet the problem doesn't go...
Do any of u guys experience similar problems with you battery or charger???

Please NMP bring back the old charger DC plug barrell. As you can see from reading posts & service center feedback, the new type very thin barrell & even the socket is poor design breaks easily...why did NMP change the dc plug design??? I mean theres enough space on board for the previous type to reside.
Ive seen new chargers (AC-4X) they even break internally in the cable, resulting in a short, resulting in DEAD PHONE !!
nokia say its OK to use CA44 with previous charger (ACP-12X) even though the voltage on ACP-12X is 5.7V & the new chargers supplied AC-4X is 5V. can anyone from NMP confirm that the voltage difference isnt detrimental to the handset?Message Edited by alix on 07-Feb-2007

  • GPS LD-3W and nokia 5800 charger

    hi , i have a nokia 5800 and a wireless gps module ( LD-3W) .
in bundle for Gps i received a DC-4 car charger  but i need also charge GPS module at home .
May i use the nokia 5800 charger for this ?
     i remember that :
5800 charger is  5v/890mA .. and GPS  charger is 5,7v/890 mA
    thanks

    Someone asked so;
My 5530 charger works fine charging the LD-3W; its because nokia only every 1 of 2 chargers the large tip or the small tip.
Yes the LD-3W works really well and except for the LD-3W having some extra battery life I heard that the 3w and 4w are really quite similar.
I am not too sure on the specs of them for accuracy and positioning but when i use mine it updates quite quickly (with only little jumps while in my car) and it gets the right position all the time.
I believe the LD-4W should work fine with the 5530 also.
And if you do not have nokia/ovi maps then you should get it. Its free and it has full navigation now.
    Ovi Maps
    ++If you have a 5530 you have to download the 5800 maps application from here;
    http://maps.nokia.com/ovi-services-and-apps/ovi-maps/downloads#/nokia-5800-xpressmusic/
Its up to you but I just choose download from pc which is at the bottom as it wont cost you data charges etc for using   you mobile.
++Next install the app on your phone
    ++Now thats it just install ovi suite from here;
    http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/nokia-ovi-suite
and choose what maps you want to download and by choosing update you can check your app is up to date.
Most of this info above plays to the 5800 aswell

  • Nokia 6700 - Charge from Micro USB?

    Hi,
The 6700 manual confirms that the phone can be charged from both microUSB and the standard mini charge but what it doesn't say is that the only way to charge using the microUSB port is to connect the phone to a PC or Laptop. If you plug the USB cable into any other type of USB charge device, including USB charge adapters (such as the iPhone charger) or a standard car 12v socket > 5v USB adapter the phone issues an error confirming charge method is not accepted.
I thought the whole point of phone companies agreeing to the new microUSB standard was to permit charging using any USB port? It seems Nokia have limited the charge capabilities of this phone and it is a right pain.
Come on Nokia, please fix this with the next firmware update !!

This is odd, because Nokia lists their AC-10 microUSB mains charger as compatible. I had thought the device rejects any current above the trickle charge from a standard PC USB cord, but if it works with the Nokia microUSB charger, it should accept higher currents (1200mAH). In which case the Nokia charger must be "talking" to the phone over USB to give it approval.
On the other hand, the manual doesn't mention support for USB mains chargers at all, so maybe including the AC-10 on the peripherals list is a goof.
Hopefully this doesn't extend to Nokia's other USB-charging phones, I have plenty of generic USB chargers around.
Help I'm trapped in a sig factory.

  • Nokia 808 Charger compatibility

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi,
You can use these Car Chargers with your Nokia 808:
    DC-4, DC-6, DC-10, DC-17, DC-20
Those are the ones which are compatible with the device. If the charger that you have is not on the list. We suggest not to try to use the said charger to the phone as it may damage the battery or the phone itself.
