Hi friends,
After owning the X6 for several weeks, I am beginning to wonder if there is a way of speeding up the phone ? e.g. use a lighter "os" or disabling some features, managing memory better, homescreen selection ...
This should spark some interesting tips/tricks (hopefully).

hi tuckster
keep as less as images in the memory
minimise the messages in the memory
always use the basic home screen
minimise keeping videos, no sooner u get a vedio transfer them to PC, same applies for images/photos.
always remember to close any of the apps after use. do not let them run in the back ground.
remember to clear the cache, after each and every web browes
do not go for unwanted apps though its freely available through the web.
minimise the involvement with unknown software expect the use of relaiable sources.
there may be some more things you could do

Nokia 5230 - how to make bigger clock ?

Hello all,
I bought Nokia 5230 - it has S60 v5 system. I can not find how to make clock bigger than it is now. See the following picture (the right one) http://www.pizero .net/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/redhz49.jpg - I think, that it is possible.
In the middle of the screen, I have "Add contact" icon. I want to replace it with bigger clock. How can I do that ?

Sorry, JFileChooser doesn't support deleting files (yet).
Sometimes it actually makes sense to use java.awt.FileDialog
instead of JFileChooser, even in a program that otherwise is
pure Swing.
I also recommend posting questions like this in the Swing
forum instead. There are a lot more experts paying attention
there.

How to make the DefaultMutableTreeNode response to the single click?

I use the DefaultMutableTreeNode and JTree to construct a Tree but it seems that DefaultMutableTreeNode only response to double click.That means if I double click on the node of the tree if that node has children they will be displayed.but now I want DefaultMutableTreeNode response to single click,how can I do that?

Hi, perhaps I could take a stab at this. I implemented such functionality by simply adding a mouse listener to my tree, and implementing the method 'public void mouseReleased(...)'. You could use the MouseEvent object to get the x,y coordinates of the click (simple so far)and then use:
int selrow=tree.getRowForLocation(me.getX(),me.getY()); //where me is MouseEvent object and tree is the JTree.
selrow>=1 if you have clicked any of the nodes after the root. this could then be used to check and perform the actions/code block you need when user clicks on a node.
Hope this helps....it worked for me to show a popup menu as well as to highlight the selections...by using
tree.setSelectionRow(selrow);

How to make personalaization at responsibility level

I Apologized, I have posted same thread in other place also so plz ignore that post.
I have number of responsibilities for internet procurement responsibility like internet procurement - 1200 , internet procurement - 1300 , internet procurement - 1250 , internet procurement - 1350 ,and so on...
Now I want add a link on the checkout : requisition information page only for some responsibilities.How can I do this?
When I am try to create a new item from personalization and want to select level then it only showing Site level and not others like responsibility level..

1)Create Link Item on site level in requisition information page by personalization.
2)Go to internet procurement - 1200(Responsibility) -->requisition information page(Page).
3)Click on Personalize link of requisition information page.
4)Check newly created Link Field. Click on Yellow Pencil Icon in Personalize column.
5)Set Render Property False at Responsibility Level.
6)Click on Apply Button
Do Same For other responsibilities

How to make CSD call in NOKIA E71

Hello,
I bought two Nokia E71 mobiles with BSNL 3G connection. My service provider(BSNL) providing 3G service. E71 is connected to PC there i dialed to another phone which is conneted to other PC. when i dialed from hyperterminal in winxp by using ATD commnad with out semicolon. I am getting connection error messge on my phone. NO CARRIER on hyper terminal.
I don't know what the problem is i tried with all commands no use. Is there any setting required for NOKIA E71. How to make data call (CSD call) by using Nokia E71.

this may or may not be of help.
I was having a similar problem with a 6230i.
When trying to make a data call the No Carrier signal would come back.
After some research I changed +cbst form 0,0,1 to 7,0,1
at+cbst=7
This apparently gives the receiving modem more time to connect. It sends the no carrier signal 30 seconds later after appearing to connect, I still dont get the connect 9600 response.

How to make the backlog of responses stop?

I have a bit of a conundrum. I created a subscription that triggers a response that does a writeXML and copy of the asset media file to a directory for MediaSilo. What I FORGOT to do was to set the asset filter for that subscription. The result is that every new and modified asset gets copied and XML written since I made the change at the beginning of the week. FCSver uploaded 4500 files to MediaSilo in the last few days!
The problem is that I can't make it stop. It seems that there is a backlog of subscription jobs that are getting dumped three or four at a time into the Jobs window every few minutes. I turned all the subscriptions off even after I fixed it, to make sure new responses weren't being fired. The copy and writeXML is still happening. I've stopped FCSvr and restarted it, I've rebooted the server, I don't know what else to do. It just seems like there's a subscription daemon running from when I originally made the bad subscription. And when FCSvr has a ton of jobs to process, no other responses that require the job queue will work until pending jobs are completed. How do I clean out the bad responses?

One thing that will definitely work is to destroy the destination the Copy response is set to write into. Delete that directory (if you can) or even just rename it so the string does not match the one in the Copy response. That will cause all the events in the queue to fail out (which could take a while, but give it the weekend and that should cover it). Once that is over, rebuild your setup for that automation the right way. It means nothing can go to MediaSilo while that plays out, but it sounds like that is a small price to pay given your situation.

Again, are you talking about genuine Nokia firmware, not any of some 3rd-party customised versions?
For officially released firmware, you may force Nokia Suite to reinstall even if your firmware is already up to date. This feature might be missed in its GUI as its link is "hidden" in the prompt message, not on a button or highlighted with underscore. Try Nokia Suite, once the phone is connected, click the icon of Software Update on the top, then click the word "reinstall" in the prompted message.

I also upgraded to new version and yes by default now it creates mobile based application in GWPA 1.1.1 whereas it was desktop based in earlier version GWPA 1.0
also blue crystal theme is loaded by loadTheme("sap_bluecrystal"); in Application.js

It's a client side thing. Learn Javascript (and CSS) and if necessary also learn Ajax afterwards. There are nice tutorials at w3schools.com. This issue is not really related to JSP/Servlets.
Displaying the progress image isn't that hard. Just show some <div> element with an image during the onclick.

I was able copy the hardrive of my old macbook from "My Passport" onto the desktop on an older iMac. but i dont know how to make my hardrive and user name be the main one since someone had used it in the past and had their info on the comp. please help!

I recently broke my 2008 macbook. i was able to use an external hardrive to back up my data onto My Passport. I was going to buy a new computer but a friend told me sher had an older version of the iMac. (not sure how old but it doesnt have a camera if that helps) i was able to hook it up and turn it on but i ran into a few problems. 1) the "authentic" user or whatever it says is someone who previously used the computer. i added me as a user but im not sure how to make me the main user. 2) after hooking up My Passport, i was able to drag my files and copy them to the desktop.(i think i did it correctly) now, i dont know how to make my hard drive and applications and iformation the "main " info. The current apps on the iMac are super old versions of iTunes and iPhoto and such. 3) while trying to open the apps from my macbook on the iMac, it said it didnt have the right software to open these apps.
I am so computer illiterate so someone please help!!! Also, i do not have internet in my new apartment yet so if there is a way to make this happen without using the internet that would be preferred. sorry for the horrible spelling and poorly written paragraph.

You are not going to be able to run your old system from the backup on this old computer as the hardware is incompatible.
You need to get a new computer or a refurbished one.
