Nokia X6 Keyguard broken off, now permanently lock...

Hello!
I have had an X6 for about a month now, and the slider keyguard on the phone had broken off. The phone is now in a permanent state of saying 'use keyguard to unluck keys and screen'. Obviously I cant because it doesnt work!!
I have tried leaving it switched off for 15 mins, and restating it. This lets me restart the time and date but then locks once the phone opens up. I have tried a drawing pin and paper clip to slide the keyguard without the keygoard but to no avial.
I'm going a bit loop so would love a solution to try and fix it just so I can get in my phone, then I can change the locking settings.
VIrgin have already told me I am not covered so I need to find a solution.

Does it lock immediately after Time/Date input or remains active for some time (15 to 30 seconds or till you use it without stopping?) If it gives you some time before locking, you may try this before it locks...
Menu-->Settings-->Phone-->Phone Management-->Auto Keyguard-->Keyguard autolock period ...'NONE'...
But mind it, if this is successfull then your screen will remain active permanently and accidental use may take place..

Okay well for sum reason when i was unlocking my phone, the sliding key guard got stuck, when i unstuck it it completly came out of place and now doesnt work; is there any possible way that the 5800 XpressMusic phone can be put on lock without using the actual sliding keyguard?
Any help would be much appreciated. Phones only around 3 months old aswell.. rather disappointed!!

i had the same problem with my keyguard switch and i could unlock the phone by plugging the headphones great advice! but does anyone of you guys know another way to lock & unlock the phone without using the switch? something i could change in the settings or so? please help, if you have an idea! thanks in advance!

Nokia 5800 - Keyguard will not unlock or lock

I've had this phone for about a year,it's been working great until recently,the screen has been flashing bars on screen,though I managed to fix it by charging for over two nights,but now,my Keyguard is not locking or unlocking,it worked fine before the flashing bars on screen.
Could someone please help me ?

I am having essentialy the same problem, but my iPod came from a PC and is now on a PC. The person who gave me the iPod didn't give me the wall adapter piece, so I bought a "Griffin" brand that was said to be compatible with this model. When I first plugged it into the wall, the Apple appeared with a bar underneath as though it was loading the new software. When the bar got to the end, the "plug into the wall" icon reappeared, but when I plug it in to the wall now, that icon is the only thing that shows, even after resetting and trying to run diagnostics.
When I doc the iPod on a charger I have or plug the USB into my computer and "reset" it, a battery with a charge icon appears, but there is no "motion" in the icon so it doesn't appear to be charging. The screen eventually goes back to the apple then to the "plug it into the wall" icon. HELP!!! Is is possible the wall adapters isn't the right one? Should I be charging through a firewire cable instead (which I also don't have...)?

Thanks to everyone who responded and related subject helped. Holding the home button and power button simultaneously for 10-15 seconds does unlock the screen. I can now use my ipad again. However, a futher problem has arisen since updating to IOS6 and activating icloud at same time, Although not sure if its related. The problem is that when connected to my PC the itunes message appears 'Cannot read ipad'. It instructs you to restore but keeps timing out after about 1 hour. This maybe internet issue but can't understand why itunes cannot read my ipad. May need to completely erase all content & reset. Or any other suggestions why this has happened?

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? I am very happy to report that my server connection tech, which I called via landline, informed me to : 1. Open Tools 2. Scan down to Clear Recent History 3. Delete All. That was it! Unbelievable! Six hours of searching through the Windows catagories. I checked the results on an internet site, and viola! It was gone! Mozilla Firefox seems to remember the usernames and passwords irregardless of the option window that asks if you if want it to remember the user and password. I finally got in touch with my friend and he said he did not answer yes to the window, even though he was aware of it. No damage. I surely do appreciate everyones' concern in this, now what seems to be, a very simple solution. Cudos to Firefox! Thank-you! P.S. I now have to enter my information at the beginning of any password protected sites...no harm done! My friend is now condemned to the 'user account' site! lol...

You can try Restoring it in iTunes but I have a feeling the switch is broken and you will have to get it serviced.

Permanent lock on E63

Hi. I have got Nokia E63-1 from Three. I wanted to unlock it so I used one of the internet sites and received the unlock code from them. Unfortunatelly it was a wrong code. After that I have called 3 and they gave me a different code, but it was too late and the phone is permanently locked . I have tried the 3 finger formating and then entering the code I was given by three with no luck.
Does anyone know if I can get it unlocked any other way??

My ipod has the same problem. I just bought it yesterday and now I have to mash the case of the ipod to get the screen lock off. It goes away i you reset it, but only until you try and use it again.

if its not 7.0.1 then you can forcely factory resetting ...
plug phone to your itune... (does not matter its recoganize or not)
hold power button and home button togther until phone got power off and come back on..
release Power button when Apple logo comes...
contine hold Home button...
and you will see iTune see phone connected...
release the home button and and follow instruction on itune to restore iphone...
(make sure you have latest version of iTune and All windows or mac OS updates/patches)
& you will be done..
if you failed to do so... make sure you updates your Mac or Windows system Updates...

Cannot download Mountain Lion after purchasing from Apple online. Mountain Lion icon is now permanently 'paused' in the dock. The Purchase page has the download but no resume button. I have enter the code again but it cannot be redeemed again. I have signed in and out again from the tab at the top of the page.
I have spoken to Apple for two evenings now. Last attempt was to bypass the Mountain Lion and download Mavericks overnight but nothing downloaded.
I have checked the internet connection and all is well.
Any ideas how to progress... I have an appointment to take in to Apple on Monday...

Have you tried to resume the download using Launch Pad? The icon should be in your Dock.
If that doesn't help ...
Apps such as Little Snitch, Growl, and MacKeeper can prevent apps from downloading
Disable anti virus software if installed
Make sure the firewall is turned off in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected.
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

I had a similar issue with my phone.....it just shut off and wouldn't come back on even thought it was charged. My daughter toggled the mute switch several times and then she pressed and held down the home and lock buttons. It worked......would be worth a shot.

Holding the ctr & power buttons together for 6-10 sec causes apple pic to briefly appear and power cord/itunes pic reappears. Powering off and on has same effect. Attempting to reset.

It sounds like the iPod touch is in Recovery Mode, Try to restore it from iTunes again.

Nokia N 72 swiches off after 15 minutes

Hi I use Nokia N72-5 hanset but now it is problem to me to operate with it. It became switched off after turning on. I removed memory card , and turn on but it switched off after 15-16 minutes. i reset its firmware bu dialing *#7370# but it didn't help. It became switched off after 15-16 minutes even withouting pressing any key on keypad.
