Nokia X6 lock button BROKEN OFF

my lock button fell off 2 months after me purchasing it.
Has anyone else had this problem, with it breaking off?
plus, i took it to the shop and they said i hav to pay to get it fixed , and i did argue it was nothing to do with me and that it was vert loose from the start.

Nokia X6 - this seems to be such a common problem. I had my phone "repaired" by O2 just a few weeks ago (unfortunately just over 30 days so my supposed rights aren't great). The new phone (the majority of my phone is new, but O2 call it a repair 'cos they've put the original motherboard in!) has just had the slide switch spring go too.
Why do 100s of people have to experience the same inconvenience before Nokia change the design and admit that it is a design fault and that the phone is not fit for purpose - unless you never use the phone, the lock switch will always go after a short time - it is not made to withstand multi-daily use.  Makes me very cross that I can't now change to a (lesser) model of phone that does not have a design flaw.  When will this silly switch idea be withdrawn?  Still got a year to go on my current contract, but I think only solution is to put SIM into a decent phone. Sorry, but just saying it as it is.

  • IPhone 4 lock button broken, won't turn on

iPhone 4 lock button broken, used assistive touch for the last several months. Today iPhone turned off in my pocket and is unresponsive to even plugging it into charger. Is there any way to get it to restart?

There is nothing you can do as you won't be able to reset the device.
You can wait until the battery goes flat then try connecting it to power so it restarts. If the same issue occours then you'll need to restore it on iTunes by entering recovery mode.

  • IPhone won't turn on (lock button broken)

iPhone 4s turned off in my pocket and won't turn back on,
the battery was above 60% and I have it charging for 15mins.
I checked the cable and it works with my friends phone.
I cannot hold the lock button and home button(lock button broken)
I'm a bit confused now as to what I should do? Can I do anything from my itunes? the phone doesn't register with my work laptop but  will try it with my personal laptop when I get home.

    Connect in recovery mode:
    Use recovery mode
Recovery mode erases your device and restores it, which should resolve the issue. If you previously synced with iTunes or iCloud, you may be able to restore from your backup after recovery.
Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.
iTunes should open and display a message such as: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."

  • Nokia X6 Keypad Lock Button Broken

Can someone help? I have had my X6 for just under 6 months and the keypad lock button has snapped off. I have a protective cover on the phone and screen cover and have to admit that when I got the phone, I though it was a bad design and would eventually happen. How do I get it repaired? Is it something my service provider is liable for?

    Hi,
This has just happened to me, I have sent it to my service provider. They said they have not heard of this fault but I think they are lying. This is the third time I have sent my phone to the company and if they replace it it will be my 3rd new X6.
I have had software malfunctions, calling and testing problems and now the unlock slide key falls off. I have been very disappointed at the nokia X6 and I will not buy another touch screen phone made by Nokia.  I will not be paying for this repair as I see it as a design fault by the manufacturer.

  • Phone has turned off, lock button broken-Any suggestions?

Hello, last night my phone randomly turned off. The lock button broke about a week ago, so I have no way to turn it back on. I left it plugged into the wall charger all night, but still no success. This morning, I tried plugging it into my laptop to back up my phone, but my computer will not even recognize that it has been plugged in. Do i simply need a new iPhone?

Plug your iphone to your laptop and follow these steps:
(This will connect your itunes to your iphone)
    1. Go to Control Panel (on your computer).
    2. Go to Hardware and Sound; Devices and Printers; Unspecified (look for Apple Mobile Device USB Driver)
    3. Right-click, then select properties on the menu list.
    4. Select the "Hardware" tab at the top  When the properties dialog box opens, once more select properties on the lower right hand button.
    5. Under the "Driver" tab menu, the update driver button will be grey and unselectable here. So you need to select and click "Change Settings" button located near the lower left corner of the general tab.
    6. Now you can click the "Driver" tab menu near the top, so you can see the "Update Driver" button.
    7. Select "Update Driver".
    8. Select and click "Browse my computer for driver software".
    9. For Windows 8.1 64 bit, it should be located in the folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
    10. Click Next, and let the driver re-install.
    11. iTunes  11.1.4.62 should open automatically if your iphone is connected already

  • Nokia Lumia Lock Button stuck

Hi guys. I'm a proud owner of a Nokia Lumia 1020 and to be honest this phone rocks.
Few days ago I've accidently dropped it in water. It took me a couple of seconds ti put it out and immediately started to shake it to remove the water from the inside. The phone was working well continuously only the power/lock button was acting strange. It wasn't responsive at all. When I've tried to power it off it didn't let me. It stayed powered on. For precautions I've disassembled the screen and put it along the body of the phone in a sealed box of rise. My mistake was that I didn't disconnect the battery. It was turned on all the time.
It stayed some 20h like that. After that I've reassembled it again and for my luck it was working like a charm. Everything except the power/lock button. What I realized was that the button is stuck in active state. Physically is ok. When I press it it's working great but it is always active. I've noticed this when I tried to lock and power off the phone. It didn't let me. But when I hold Only the volume down button the phone makes the soft reset. The camera is also unavailable. When I start it with the dedicated button it starts, shows the loading... Status and goes back to start screen again. I think that this is caused by the power /lock button. I know that the camera is working because when I did hard reset on the phone during the startup setup it activated the camera and the next time I've started it rejected me again to the start screen. I have a solid phone repair knowledge cause I have been working in on local repair shop few years ago so I can do some basic repairs. So I'm asking, could it be the flat cable that is causing this? Maybe the button itself or the connector on the motherboard? Thanks.

Thanks my friend. I appreciate your response anyway.
    Take care.

  • My iphone screen blacked out! Lock Button Broken!

Doesnt show anything but siri works, and makes noise. There has been a similar thread and the solution was to restart the phone by holding down the lock and home button at the same time but my lock button doesnt work !! PLEASE HELP ASAP!

did you tap the Home Button (Middle circle) to turn it on, then go to settings>accessibility>Assistive Touch>Turn it on (Top one)
Now there should be a circle in a square, tap it and you get more options, such as for you: Tap the Circle>Device>Lock Screen and your screen will be off.

  • The lock button came off!

Apparently, it's only glued on! And of course, it was in "lock" position when it came off...

Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. Get your lock button fixed then you can restore your phone.

  • I just bought my iphone 4 a few weeks ago from a friend, they used it for like a month, and now my lock button/ power off button wont work at all. what do i do?

I just bought my iphone 4 a few weeks ago from a friend and now the lock button/power button is unresponsive. It worked fine when i bought it, and i havent dropped the phone or gotten it wet at all! what do i do?

  • Iphone 5 Lock button Broken! Will i get it replaced?

So my iphone 5 lock button started to only work on the left side about 2 months ago.
My nearest apple store is quite far away so o decided to cope with the issue. But not the button does not work at all, it has no click spund and is just broken all together.
If i travel down to my nearest apple store will i get a replacement? Need to know since the journey alone will cost me a lot of money so i do not want to waste my time.
    Cheers!
P.S make Apple stores in Wales!

If the Apple Genius find evidence of misuse or dropping as IW has said it will not be covered by the warranty
They do not make it up ,if iPhone 5 is pristine and no evidence of damage it will be replaced under warranty
UK Apple Stores are very fair in my experience
Make sure you back it up ,if you can as the iPhone will be replaced not repaired

  • IPod Touch 4g stuck in recovery mode and lock button broken

A few days ago my lock button stopped functioning, and seeing as I'm not brave enough to try and fix it myself and I haven't been able to take it to get fixed anywhere yet, I just enabled the internal lock button feature and, frankly, hoped for the best. This afternoon I connected it to iTunes because after updating to iOS 6 too many things have been going wrong. There was an error message (I can't remember which one :S) but stupidly I decided to restore it (mainly in the hope that iOS 6 would sort itself out I guess). Once it had finished extracting files, there was another error message, which again I can't remember, but it was something along the lines of iPod cannot be restored basically. Then it went into recovery mode, and I've been unplugging, plugging in, shutting down my computer and all sorts of things all evening. As far as I can tell, the only way out of recovery mode is to hold the lock button and the home button down for thirty seconds ish until the apple logo comes up. Except my lock button doesn't work. I guess I'll just try and get it fixed this weekend but if there are any other solutions that would be awesome! Thanks!

    - Let the battery fully drain and try again to restore after charging for at least an hour.
    - Try on another computer
    - See if you can cycle the iPod in and out of recovery mode with:

  • IPhone 5 lock button broken.

I bought an iPhone 5 when it first came out and now my lock screen button is broken and barely works. Is there any way I can get this problem fixed?

Restore iPhone with current iTunes on computer. See if better. If not, make Genius reservation or set up Service and take or send to Apple for resolution under Warranty. Until then use Assistive Touch, tap Settings App > General > Accessibility > Assistive Touch > ON > tap new white screen button > Device > Lock. This can even turn OFF iPhone, to turn ON connect to power, charger or USB of computer.
