Nokia x6 shutting down when take/recieve call

Hello,
my Nokia x6, 16 gb (aprox. 3 months old) have this annoying issue. The phone ocasionally turns off when i call, or recieve a call (i hear a click and phone turns off). I have to manually start it again. Sometimes the problem persists for a few next calls, while sometimes it doesn't. Anyways,i usually let it be for a day or two, and use my old phone. But this is getting really frustrating now, after all, i bought it to use it!
I have tried the hard reset, the factory reset. I took it to the official repair shop here in my country, where i demanded they take away the **bleep** vodafone, preventing me to update further than v20 firmware.
The repair shop gave it back, saying there are no more problems. Im taking a guess even they did those soft/hard resets. I have the latest firmware (v30) and yes the phone does work much faster, but just now i did get another shutdown when having a conversation ! I even uninstalled pretty much all not needed apps (facebook, youtube, accuweather, games, ...) on the new firmware.
I cannot have such a unpredictable phone, especially when i am working and have to take important calls. Imagine how it is, when the phone dies in the middle of important conversation with the boss/costumer. I need a RELIABLE phone!
So i kindly ask you people, did you have similar occurances?
If yes, how did you fix it?
What do you think, it is a software or a hardware issue?
The problem did happen even at day 1, but i thought it was an application i installed back then, that did this problems.
Any reply's would be appreciated!

you should send it back and ask for a replacement explain to nokia its been already there
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.
Now using the Lumia 1520

Please help my iphone shuts down when making a call restored and set to new phone but still shuts down after 2 to 3 mins  HELP

I'm having exactly the same issue with my iphone, and same specs. It's a new work phone so discussed with IT manager. She advised returning it so it could be sent back for repair. Would be interested if you have heard of any other fixes as not keen to be without the phone, although that needs to weighed against the fact it randomly shuts down when a call comes in!

  • IPhone 3GS Shuts Down when receiving a call

My wife's iPhone 3GS has an odd problem - sometimes - but not always - when an incoming call comes in the phone shuts down. The phone doesn't ring (or vibrate) it immediately shuts down to the power off state - and it's only after a while that I realise the phone is off - later I find out someone tried to call.
Has anyone else seen this problem?
    It's a 32GB 3GS on the latest firmware 3.1.2 (7D11) and 05.11.07.

  • Computer shuts down when I click on the list or grid display button

I've uninstalled an reinstalled 3 times and instead of the computer shutting down when I start itunes as it was doing, it only does it when I click on the display as a list, grid or cover display button. However it seems to unistall some parts at the same time as I can't open it all afterwards (error message says its not installed). This started to occur after a couple of weeks of non use and when I last used it I purchased songs from itunes. I now have current version but didn't when it first statred to happen. Help!!

Okay ... we'd better have a closer look at the minidumps the PC has been producing to see if they can turn up any additional information on what we're dealling with here.
Open "My Computer", and see if you can find a directory called C:\Windows\Minidump. (That's where minidumps usually go on a PC, so long as the Systemroot hasn't been set to some other folder.)
If it's been collecting minidumps, there should be files in there with names like "Mini(number-numbers).dmp"
(If you have "Hide filename extensions for known file types" enabled in Windows, the ".dmp" extension may not appear on the dump files. The numbers in the file name will be different for each minidump, if minidumps are present.)
Once we've tracked down some minidumps, we can have a go at analysing them.
    1. Download and install the Windows debugging tools from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/installx86.mspx
    2. Go to Start, All Programs, Debugging Tools For Windows, Windbg
Once you open Windbg, you will presented with a blank screen.
    3. Click on "File > Symbol File Path". Here you will enter the symbols
path. Symbols are needed to effectively debug.
    The path will be:
    SRVc:symbolshttp://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols
    4. Enter in this path and click OK. Now, go to "File > Save Workspace"
so that your symbols path is saved for future use.
    5. Go to "File > Open Crash Dump" and load the file.
(An "Open Crash Dump" screen will appear ... doubleclick "My Computer", doubleclick "Local Disk", doubleclick "Windows", doubleclick "Minidump", and doubleclick on one of the minidumps in there.)
You will/should get a message to save base workspace information. Choose no.
Now you will get a debugging screen. It takes a little bit to run it,
as the symbols have to be downloaded as they are needed.
After the "bugcheck analysis" part of the screen comes up, look for the component that seems to be causing the crash. (It'll say "Probably caused by" ...)
Let us know the precise name of the component. (Include any file name extensions like .dll or .sys.)
If you can, have a look at several of your crash dumps. Are all the crashes being caused by the same component? If not, could you let us know the names of the various components being cited in the various crash dumps?

  • Pre Turns Off or Shuts Down when I close the keyboard

Is my pre screwed or is it OS?
It shuts off, not the version that other people have had where you have to pop the battery (the power button still works to turn it back on) out to get it to restart.  Anyway, it shuts off when I slide it closed.  I thought maybe something loose so I did it very slowly, not allowing it to even go all the way, the minute that the sensor tripped it back into "no keyboard" mode it turns off.
It's especially bad when on bluetooth...happens every single time.
Is there a solution for this.  Please palm, a lot of people are having this problem and there is no answer yet?
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Palm is on deathwatch.  The Pre could have really kept them afloat, but there are too many problems with it.  When I first got my Pre in June, it was awesome!  Everything worked great.  But now, I am always having problems with it.  Here is the list:
    1. Pre turns off or shuts down when I close the keyboard.  (I had to make this one the first on the list since it is the topic.)
    2. Pre turn off or shuts down for no apparent reason and the only solution is to remove the battery, wait a second, put the battery back in, then turn it back on.  This takes forever.  Plus, because I have removed the back so often, my Pre squeaks when I am typing (from the plastic).  It is very annoying.
    3. The navigation system has a glitch where most of the time, it cannot find my current location.  The message says to make sure I am in clear view of the sky, but i always am.  There are many posts about this problem in other sections.  There are some solutions, and the often work, but it takes 5 minutes to reset the system.  It is a beating.
    4. The navigation system voice is usually very clear, but sometimes, the voice will skip over the names of streets as she is calling out the directions.  Ex. "Turn right on ________ Drive."
    5. Sometimes the keyboard will stop working.  I have to remove/replace the battery.  Again, this is time-consuming and further contributes to the squeaking problem when typing because you have removed the back so many times.
I like Sprint because I can get unlimited data, txt, and mobile-to-mobile calling for $70/mo.  So, I hope that someone comes out with a great touch-screen phone (not the BB Storm), because I want to stick with Sprint.  If you go with an iphone, you have to get AT&T, which will cost you at least $100 for the same.  That is a $360/yr difference!  I am sticking with Sprint.

  • N8 shuts down - when on a network

My N8 - fully charged - shuts down within minutes or seconds when it is turned on.
This only happens when there is a sim card inside, and the phone is online.
If the phone is offline - even with sim card - no problem.
I have even tried using the camera, to rule out that it's the battery.
So something in my N8 kills it, when it goes online, sometimes it even shuts down when it is charging.
    ...I bought the N8 used...

    Hi Lotus2102,
    Welcome to the discussions board!
It might be caused by a problem in the software.
I advise you to update your device using Nokia Suite.
If issue persists, please back up your device via Nokia Suite and perform a hard reset.
Type *#7370# on your phone's keypad, the default lock code is 12345.
Then check if the phone stops turning off. If it does, please take your phone to your local Nokia Care Point.
For further assistance or if you have any other questions, please post them.

  • N900 shuts down when opening slider

Does anyone else have this problem? I believe I've figured out that it happens when I put a certain battery in it. I have three, total, because my previous phone was a 5800, so I had ordered an extra one. So, now I have three that I can use in my N900.
I think it is an official Nokia battery because it looks exactly like the others...
Anyway, my phone shuts down when I open the slider, using a fully-charged battery. The lights dim as if it is a power failure and it does not reboot like the others having the reboot problem...
    Sorry for rambling on!
    Any ideas? Thanks
    Recent phones: N91, N95-4, 5800xm, N900, E7, & now the beautiful N9

    Hi guys
I have a very similar problem and have been unable to enjoy my phone!
I got a new N900 yesterday, for the 2nd time, but the device is still manifesting the same symptoms:
    - shuts itself down regularly, whether in use or not;
    - sliding the keyboard back in causes it to shut down;
    - it shut down when it was taken off the charger;
    - I left it on the charger overnight and it stayed up all night (>10hrs);
    - even when it is on (for a short while) the screen stays inactive and blank permanently, and the device shuts down when I attempt to slide it open to check that it is indeed on
    - attempt to start it up again are not always responded to, and when it does it starts to boot up and then dies again
    - it barely stays up long enough to use it for any purpose
    - sometimes the charger responds to the power supply and sometimes it doesn't
This was exactly what was happening with the new one I recieved from and sent back to Nokia within days. They asked me to return it without the battery and charger and claimed to have tested the new one before sending it back to me. I have put in the battery and used the charger from the previous new device.
I have tried to analyse the problem and I am beginning to think that the issue might be related to either a dodgy battery or charger. What do you think?
I have asked Nokia to send me a replacement charger and batter. In the meantime, have you any suggestions I could try?
    Thanks.

  • Macbook 13" 2009 shutting down when moved randomly and when finally able to turn back on time and date needs to be reset.. Help?

2 times in the last week when i have picked up my macbook to place beside me it has shut down, and takes a little while to turn back on, when it does turn on again the date and time needs to be reset and wifi password  needs to be re-entered as well..
I have no idea what is going on but i dont like it... any help would be great !!

That battery is relatively healthy, say relatively due to the high cycle count, the number of full charge cycles it has had.  The lower capacity simply reflects the high number of charge cycles and is not an issue, only a measure of how long the MacBook will work when running on battery power.  The voltage is right where it should be for a MacBook, in the range of 11.5 to 12.5 volts...12.3 volts is a strong battery.
Now to the auto-shutdown for lack of a better term - that sounds a lot like something loose inside the MacBook that when jarred shorts/shutsdown the sytem with a loss of basic information.  You could try things like an SMC reseet or PRAM reset but I seriously doubt they would have any affect.  Best option would be a visit to an Apple store genius bar to have the techs run some diagnostics to see if they can identify something going wrong inside.
Hope this helps and you can find resolution...auto shutdowns of this type are not really good for the system.

  • MBP shuts down when connecting to power

Since a week or two, my MacBookPro from early 2011 shuts down when connecting the magsafe to power. Also when starting up again it will start up fine and fast from battery, but I need to hold the power button for several seconds when connected to power.
Another problem I had earlier as well is  CPU (kernel task) of over 90%, which I now see clearly, only occurs when connected to power. I used to solve this problem by putting the MBP to sleep, but now, when put to sleep, it will shut down.
When on battery, I have no CPU problem and can put machine to sleep without a problem.
I recently started uploading everything to dropbox, and activate caffeine to make sure it will keep uploading. My computer will run for days on power combined with caffeine, but is as slow as **** because of a >90% CPU.
The battery has had a notification for maybe a year, that it needed service, so today I finally bought and installed a new battery, but the problem is not solved. Is this software or could it be my magsafe adapter? Thanks for you help.

It sounds like a problem with the power management inside your MBP. I suggest you call Apple to make an appointment at your local Apple store for them to check it out for you.

  • My CS4 keeps shutting down when I try to use it,why?

How can I stop my CS4 from shutting down when I try to save or even open a file in it?
I have tried resetting the preferences file. This worked once but so far has not worked again(I found this solution just by googling). It is obviously a common problems but I cannot find a solution that works or an explanation as to why it happens.
Please could someone at least explain what causes it? And preferably how to fix it?
It cost a lot of money and I don' yet understand why I should lose the right to have a functional programme. I'm not interested in having any new features etc. It takes me ages to work out how to do easy thing each time a new programme comes out!
    Thanks

I don’t know why this happens and with the information you have provided I doubt anyone can do so so with accuracy.

iPhone is 17 month old and shutting down when not connected to the mac any this I can do about it?
should I bring it to apple ?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these steps in order until the issue is resolved.
Replacing or even suggesting replacing hardware without doing basic troubleshooting first is not very smart.
If basic troubleshooting does not resolve, take it to Apple for evaluation.  There is no obligation to pay for anything, the evaluation is free.

  • Qosmio F10 shut down when I touch it

    Hi everybody
Since yesterday, I've a problem with my F10.
It quite paranormal, so i give you the facts.
    - the computer shut down when I touch it (when I close the screen, or touch it at bottom left)
    - after that, the alimentation light flicks with this scheme:
1 long (blank) 6 shorts (Blank) and 1 long
    - to shut up again, I must remove the battery and the alimentation, wait a little, and it can shut up again.
I've installed no updates, no software, and it looks like to be motherboard problem...
Naturally, it is not under warranty anymore...
So if you have answers !!
    Thank's
    Eric

    I can't logon with Eric4, but it doesn't matter.
So, ok, I phoned to Toshiba Fr who saied me it was an electrical problem, and i should bring the computer to us.
So, I decided to take a screewdriver, and I opened the computer. I've used a dry spray, and I closed the box.
So, there's no problem anymore. I don't know the word in English, but I think it was a small metal dust on the motherboard.
Thank you for your help (but I must particulary thank my screewdriver).
    Eric

  • My MacBook Air shuts down when its more than half way charged and won't turn on unless I plug it in to the adapter? Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

My MacBook Air shuts down when its more than half way charged and won't turn on unless I plug it in to the adapter? Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

If you really do have a Mid 2013 Mac Air model then it is still in warranty, as the standard Apple warranty is one year from date of purchase. So take it into an Apple store and have it diagnosed and fixed under the warranty. There is some type of hardware problem that only Apple can fix.
