Nokia X6 tv-out

Hi guys, just bought tv-out cable for my X6 but can't seem to get it to work. Had the cable checked by electician and it seems ok. Get the option when plugging in to choose tv-out but nothing appears on my tv. Anyone got any ideas?

I was given an official nokia cable that had come free with a different model phone and it worked perfectly in my UK bought x6
Have to admit that nokia is the ONLY company I've ever seen who tries to sell a phone with reference to its media capabilities then doesnt include something as cheap as the video lead
Then again, they completely omitted any form of Divx/Xvid support so why even bother with video capabilities nowadays as its a redundant relic the moment its released without that really in terms of video multimedia
Infact most sub £30 quid DVD players include Divx support, as does my £60 aldi cheapo satnav so the lack of a video lead for a phone that supports video output seems to fit with the general lack of detail paid to the design, features and bundling of the phone
Infact for a purely comedic addition, they also decided to bundle it with stereo bluetooth headphones on a phone that has a build in radio without thinking to add a built in antenna pmsl
So brand new and straight out of the box you have a "multimedia phone" that wont display video without a lead you dont have in the box, one with radio that cant be listened to with the supplied stereo bluetooth headphones and one that doesnt support one of the most popular video formats in existence for video files
Maybe they should start to drug test their design and conception department as they really dont seem to have much of a clue about anything really lol

  • Nokia 5800xm LEFT OUT but its not worth it !!

    Thnx Rocky(alias)
Why Nokia 5800xm is not getting any updates, i think its left out , We spent Rs 20000(arnd) for this phone and we are no where in the competition , no processor tweaks, no os tweaks by means of software updates and most importantly the basic software updates like Flash Lite 4 for S60 5th edition phones as Nokia 5800 supports it . Any replies positive /negative will be appreciated. Just ma view , thnx a lot NOKIA and BETA LABS , you people are doing a great job !!

  • Nokia x6 runs out of battery too quickly, maybe bc...

    Hello,
My nokia x6 runs out of battery in 5/6 hours without being in use.
This began to happen one day, when I was listening to music in the music player and the screen froze and didn't respond. I tried everything, but the only thing that worked out was removing the battery.
Since then, when I try to access the music player, the screen goes black and doesn't show anything I press the red button to hide the application. It shows me the menu and says that music player is hidden. When I try to close it, nothing happens.
5/6 hours after I charged the battery, it runs down and when I turn it on again, there's no sign of the music player being hidden, but when I try to open it, it does what I've mentioned before.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you very much.

before the hard reset you should make a backup using ovi suite. the hard reset will only delete the contents of the phone C: memory.
make sure the device is switched off.
now press and hold the green (answer) key + the red key and the camera button. while holding those buttons switch on the device, don't release the buttons until you see the "country selector" list. if you don't see that, do it again.

  • Nokia lumia 822 - out of luck I guess

I bought the Nokia Lumia 822 when I renewed my contract. Early on the phone was randomly turning itself off during the day and at night. I do not have a land line at home and this is also my business phone. Random shut downs are not safe at night nor good for getting business calls.
In order to get it to come back on I have to either remove the battery or hold the power and volume button down for 20 seconds.
I stuck it out after reading in Verizon's forums that this was a common issue and might be fixed in a software patch release by Nokia/Microsoft.
After several patches and a recent (this week) reset to factory settings the problem has persisted. Just this week it has happened over 15 times causing missed calls.
    No software updates have helped.
The Verizon / Nokia forums still have numerous posts complaining of this issue but Verizon / Nokia does not seem to be aware of it or want to acknowledge it...
I had to reactivate my old Droid X on my line to keep a reliable phone powered on.
I did have a phone and email conversation with technical support who promised a solution and never got back to me. Now she will not respond to my emails.
I don't think another Nokia product will be purchased again.
    Ryan

this is the OS, not phone.  it is happening to other Nokia windows phones as well.  i've had this phone for approx 2 mths and have been told by verizon tech support that microsoft was supposed to issue the patch to correct this issue by the end of june.  ha!  i've made repeated calls to tech support, now they say patch delayed till end of july.  HA! again!!  sad part is, verizon has known this was an issue and continued to sell the phones.  i tried to return my phone within the 2 week period, but was told that the 2 weeks start on the day you ordered the phone, not received and activated it.  now i'm stuck for 2 years with a piece of crap phone.  no more windows phones for me.  i missed the 2 week mark by 24 hours.

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 out-of-the-box problem

I just got the Nokia Lumia 1520 from Germany and I took it out of the box all good and pretty, but when then I go and charge it since it didn't turn on at first (I have this british charger and a european adapter) and put it in the phone. I left it for a while to charge since the windows start button started flashing and now when I turn it on, it shows the Nokia start screen, then it shows that it's charging and then there comes a blue screen that flashes and it vibrates after that. Again the Nokia start screen shows and the blue screen flashes again, vibrates and Nokia screen again and so it goes endlessly!
I have never gotten it to start it just flashes the blue screen and turns off again

    WHAT DO I DO HELP!

Sounds to me like the charger you are using is not powerful enough. Are you using the charger that came with the phone? You mentioned adaptors etc so thought you may be charging with another charger. You could also try charging with high output usb chargers, typically ones for tablets.

  • Nokia 5530 TV-out mode?

Does the Nokia 5530 support TV-out mode, where one can connect the phone to a TV with a compatible cable?

It says Nokia 5530 and anyways they only have put 5330 once-it was probably a mistype.
However they do show the nokia 5330 tv edition while stating its a 5530 so I don't know

just a little background info from telstra. they have had the update from release. it comes down to the fact that there were so many fixes to anna they didnt think it fair to keep testing it. as for the emergency call that was an issue where when our emergency numbers were called the phone wouldnt call the number and it also caused the phone to freeze, i was told of alot of other issues whithin the update. telstra are now focusing on haveing there updates page update more often and correctly.
i have not had any proplems while and after updating my n8 to anna. which goes to show that telstra have released a perfect version of anna. oo and new nokia phones are on the way to telstra.. ill let you work out what they are

  • Nokia 701 TV-out problem

    Hi
I bought this phone yesterday. Totally happy with it etc. But when i connect it to my TV (via CA-75U cable) there's no picture... or sound. The phone recognises it as headphones.
I updated to the latest firmware - nothing changed, did a hard reset - nothing. Help

    No,
CA-92U type cable has 2.5mm jack so it is not compatible with Nokia 701.
Nokia 701 needs TV out cable with 3.5mm connectivity jack like CA-75U cable.
    Hope this helped you.

Does Nokia X2 have Tv out facility or not ?

    Hi, TheXWay.
    Welcome to the Nokia community.
The Nokia X2 Dual SIM does not support either HDMI output or composite video out (TV-out). For more information about its specifications, go here: http://www.microsoft.com/en/mobile/phone/nokia-x2-dual-sim/specifications/.

  • Nokia 7370 cut out?

Ive had my nokia 7370 for about 6 months now and recently it has started to cut out in the middle of calls. It is also very slow to respond at times. Any ideas what may be causing this and what I can do to fix it?

    I'll update tonight...
I wonder how is memory comsumption in Belle....
According the Native Belle models I've experienced (those having more RAM than N8), memory usage is big.
I assume in phones with less RAM, the software should be using less memory....If that wasn't the case, phone would almost run of out memory only to keep the OS running
    Best Regards

  • Nokia 5800 - Cuts out during every call!!

I have had my 5800 since last August and over the last couple of months it just cuts out somewhere between the 2 - 3 minute mark of a call regardless of if I have made or received the call.
I have never updated the software etc. My partner also has the same phone and he hasn't got this issue.
    Any suggestions from the forum?
    Cheers.

I have this phone too and mine does not do what you are describing. I have not seen any other posts on this subject so I guess you may have a problem with your handset.

  • Nokia N9 TV-out doesn't work

My tv and projector doesn't recognise him at all. I tried to change settings in tv-out menu but it doesn't help. Both cable and phone are new, connectors are properly attached to phone and tv.

I just have connected my N9 to a Panasonic TV and it was working without problems using AV3/S (RGB) input channel from TV.
Did you choose the correct input channel?

btw: i was surprised about the good quality on plasma tv.

  • Nokia N93 TV-Out problem

I'm connecting my N93 to a wall projector using a S-video adapter because it doesn't have RCA connection. I've tried in PAL, NTSC and 4:3 and 16:9 relations but in everyone the image appears in grayscale.
    Any suggestion?

Unless I'm mistaken you CAN NOT just connect an RCA video cable (composite video) into S-Video cable. You need some kind of up-converter. The signal from the RCA video source is different that S-video.
You will need some kind of converter box to up-convert from composite video into S-video. S-video sepparates the color signals and the luminance signal so it can create better images.
The N93 only outputs composite video that has the color signals mixed onto the chroma subcarrier, you see black and white because of the backwards compatibility with old black and white TVs. Anyway withoug getting into more technical details, it not as straight forward as having a connector adapter to change from RCA to the 4 pin S-video cable.
So in a nutshell, you can't do what you are trying. You need a converter box.
640K Should be enough for everybody
