i've owned Nokia 6131 set on 20th Nov'2006, from then there was litte problem.. when i charged the cell by switchin off the cell often its shows on the screen that 'LOCAL MODE' after opening the battery and reloaded it comes in normal mode, and if i charged the cell by switchin on the cell it will no shows "Local Mode". From then i started to charged the battery with switchin on the cell > earlier my this cell was last 1 to 1 and 1/2 dasy but from last week it is not lasting 24 hour even after switching off the cell battery is consuming, i've tried by swithing on power saver on and off both ways but not getting any solution. please guide me, what to do, i m in trouble with my cell (Nokia 6131).

That "up to" 7 hour mark is often a point of confusion for users. I've had my 13" MacBook Pro since the week it became available and a new unibody MacBook for about 10 days. My day-to-day usage gets me anywhere from three and a half hours to five hours based on usage, a full charge will typically last me about 9 hours of actual time (I'll sleep the machine when not in use).
Last night, off a full charge (5147 mAh) with Safari and Mail open, WiFi connected and my backlight at 4 blocks I got 2 hours and 11 minutes of usage (browsing these discussions and responding). This morning, even after having the machine sleeping all night (about 7 hours) I still had 64% battery. So if I had continued my trend of usage in that manner I would have definitely gotten over 7 hours of run time.
However today, as I'm running Adium, mail, Safari, iTunes and a Parallels 5 with several things going in each... I'm at 47% in only about 30-45 minutes of usage.

I have had it stop sending/receiving calls 3 times now... the first two times the problem went away the next day, but this time I am two days out and still not working.
I have not replaced my phone, I am afraid to do it because from another thread that I read, it usually doesn't fix the problem.
Here is the other thread I found: I can't make or take phone calls, but i can message and use data. Has this happened to anyone else? I've gone through three Samsung Galaxy S5's in the past three days, two of which have this problem and one just stopped working all together.
My problem started on day 15 so I couldn't just get a replacement at the store, had to get a rma to get a replacement. If you have only had the phone for 3 days you might want to go to your store and have them replace it with a new one. Me, if I could I would switch to another phone, but it looks like I am stuck with the S5 for now.

Well, you could start by searching the forum. You might then find this: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3391947?tstart=0, a thread with over a million views and over ten thousand posts, discussing this very subject.
But the short answer is you have an app that is using data and power. If you have an Exchange account it might be email if you get a lot of messages. If you have the FaceBook app it is almost certainly that. Exiting out of apps does not necessarily kill the background process if they are built in apps (like mail, contacts and calendar, ping, genius, iTunes). Other apps can re-launch their background tasks if they are set to receive notifications and the receive one.

took it to apple. they checked battery, it was ok, but they did a dfu (deep firmware upgrade) and replaced the battery (I was wrong on the age - it was still under warranty). Had to re-set it up, but it seems fine now.

Why does my battery not last?

I just got my iphone on wednesday. Yesterday and today my battery wouldnt last for more than 10 hrs. I didnt really do anything with it except text during the day at work but it wasn't constant, maybe one or two every 20 min MAXIMUM. and by the time I left work, it was down to 35% roughly. I guess I'm somewhat frustrated that it doesn't last. I know apps can run in the background. I have OS 3.1.3 and I dont know how to end my apps via buttons so I turn it off and back on. I'm not on a wireless network although they are everywhere at work.
Is there a way to see what programs are running? How do I end apps with buttons? Can I do anything to make my battery last longer? Thanks in advance

Here are some observations and a suggestion.
1) I mentioned before, that the number of views of this discussion forum is fast approaching 100,000. I suppose relative to all iPhones sold that is not a great percentage, but 100,000 still sounds pretty impressive to me. Consider also that many people probably have this same Sim problem and are not viewing this discussion forum because thay do not know it exists. How many people are REALLY experiencing this problem? Who knows. But I suspect it is more that 100,000.
2) To the best of my knowledge, Apple does not consult these forums as a guide to awareness of product performance. It may be company policy, but most of the time when I speak to an Apple employee they seem remarkably unaware of the "Top Stories" in the Apple Discussion Forum. This, despite the fact that my personal experience with customer service at Apple is excellent. So, as much as we of this discussion forum are confident SOMEONE important at Apple is reading all our posts and taking them to heart...I am not so sure.
3) I have been told over and over that the best way to gain Apple's attention regarding a problem is to post a comment on their Feedback Site. One comment about a problem is pretty worthless. 100,000 comments on the same issue, I'm guessing, will really get their attention.
4) Some folks have mentioned a recall to address this problem. Although such a thing is always a possibility, I don't see it happening. Why? When the brakes on a Toyota don't work, or that Toyata starts to accelerate without driver intention...well, that involves human life and the stakes are quite high. For many reasons you would see the automotive industry eventually be forced into a recall program under such a situation. But, a phone APPEARS to not nearly be such a life and death device. Or is it? My daughter's iPhone 4S developed a "SIM FAILURE" on the same day her car broke down in the middle of the very rural area we live at around 10:00 pm. She is 17 years old and was coming home from high school play practice. You can imagine the anxiety I and her mother felt when she did not arrive home on time. She eventually walked about a quarter mile to a house of a stranger and had to ask to use their phone to call us. Now, I am not saying that strangers where I live are not to be trusted. But, in addition to being worried out of my mind, I was not happy that an inoperative iPhone 4S caused my daughter to be put in this situation. My biggest concern now is...when will my daughter's iPhone become inoperative again due to SIM FAILURE?
5) The more folks in this discussion forum who post a comment about this issue in Apple's feedback site the more pressing this issue is going to be perceived by Apple. So, I like others, encourage all of you to do so. If this seems like a lot of effort, I offer you these few sentences below that you could just copy and paste into the feedback site.

1020 Battery not lasting more than 5 or 6 hours so...

I have had my 1020 since they first hit in the US. The drain problem has come and gone. The first month it would die after 4 hours then it would last all day for awhile. Now it is back to the 4-6 hour range. I have everything but Cell turned off, no back ground apps and shut down my apps as I go. I have a strong 4G LTE signal.
I paid $300 for mine on two year contract to help keep the Nokias going in the US. I have seen some people say that they have been able to exchange there's and the new one works better. It is so bad I had to get two rechargeable batteries to make it through a day.
What can I do? At this rate if it doesn't get much better I may end up dumping the phone I love just to get one that can make it through a day with light to moderate use. I have always loved Nokia and have been an early adopter to make sure the phones get the sales to stay alive. I even have everyone in my family getting them.

I do a soft reset when my 920 starts the battery cycle thing. Hold the volume down button and power button down until the phone vibrates, release.
Think I am going to start doing this befor a phone update.

MacBook Pro Battery Not Lasting More that 4 Hours

Hello! I just got my new MacBook Pro and I have calibrated the battery. I have noticed that the battery meter is terribly inaccurate and jumps around from 1 hour to 6 hours of estimated lasting time! I usually only get 3 and a half to 4 hours and this is with the keyboard backlight and the display backlight on its lowest setting and using the integrated graphics! I am doing nothing more that some word processing and internet browsing. On the Apple Tech Specs it states that one could easily get 5 hours and thats with the backlighting on the mid point! I am wondering if I have a defective battery. When running coconut battery it used to say my battery had 98% of its charge and that was with 3 charge cycles! Now after calibrating it, it states it has 100% however what is odd to me is that it says it has 4648mAh when the batters compactly is only 4000mAh.

under the preferences of the coconut battery prog. you can change the mAh settings to the desired mAh.

Macbook Battery not lasting as advertised?

Well, firstly, to begin with, I'm new here, so any info that i might miss, just ask for =p
Now onto the main topic, which happens to be that the battery on my literally not even week old Macbook is only lasting around two and a half hours, when Apple clearly advertises around five. I did a little test, and turned off the airport (only thing i have on, don't use the bluetooth), and the battery still displays the same charge. Would this be something i should report to Apple, or is there a different set of solutions for this? And obviously buying anything means report to apple, since its not even 14 days old yet =p

That number is more of a theoretical maximum than a practical one.
What applications do you have running? Is the fan running? How bright is the screen? Are you using the volume?
Also, let's take a look at the capacity information for the battery and make sure it's reasonable for a new battery.
In Applications>Utilities, open *System Profiler*. Click Power in the left hand information, then copy the battery information and paste it here.

Ipad battery not lasting anymore

I've had my ipad for 16 months. I regularly let the battery run out and recharge it and I use the higher power ipad charger. However within the last couple of months my ipad battery is barely lasting an hour and takes more than half the day to fully charge. It is extremely slow. I have also tried it on another charger and there was no difference. What can be done? Thanks, Danielle

Do you also own an iPad? I have struggled with all solutions to fast depleting battery on iphone 4s (and ipad) since installing ios7. I sync via icloud to my ipad and noticed the b stopped if I powered off the ipad for a day! ios7 must have set up some cycle that drained both devices. Now I have set the ipad to manual (not push) on icloud and diary sync and battery life is back to normal for a whole week it can last 48 hours with light use- no longer have to keep shutting down all apps and turning off bluetooth and wifi to get through a day! Any one else found the same solution?

Lyssa, not doing much, surfing the web and looking at word documents. Checked my activity monitor, nothing clogging the CPU, 70%+ idle most of the time... Just looked at other posts & people are saying they started experiencing this after installing SL. I just remembered that I have also installed my SL from a CD because I did a time machine backup our of the box & that reverted my OS back to Leopard. It's weird, it looks like there's some general issue with something here. Even if you are heavily using your CPU etc., it should still last 5+ hours at the very least, given that the advertised time is 7+ with surfing the net on wireless. My early 2008 MBP lasted for 3+ hours, and in this one the battery capacity is supposed to be 2x bigger...

Also, I just bought a new battery because the original that came with my computer was dying too fast.
Well, this new one lasts just a little longer. I believe that is something else that is eating up the battery.

Battery not lasting all day

Just bought my z10 early this month and that's less than 2 weeks, but the battery doesn't last even for a whole day.....pls what could have been the problem And how can I solve it before I start regretting my decision

@toyourcee Did You Updated your Phone to a new OS - If Did then the battery will be consumed a lot for the first 48 hours of the Update - After that the Battery will get back to Normal

IPhone 4s battery not lasting long even on standby

For last 2 days now my iPhone hasn't been holding its charge, even in standby mode.
I took screen shots of it earlier and at 5:54am whilst in work the battery was at 82% then it stayed in standby in my pocket until the next screenshot I took and the percentage was falling fast, by 9:28 the percent was at 1.
Does anyone here know if there is anything I can do? I have restored the iPhone and also let the battery charge up to 100% from no charge in it and to no avail!
The phone is only a month and a half old and nothing has changed since the last 2 days so hard to understand why it has started doing this, brightness has always been at 100% so that's not affecting it.
I would go to an apple store to ask but closest one is 160 miles away :(
