Ok i'll try that, thanks. Is there any way of getting the player back to the original settings so i can use nomad again?
No, once you have upgraded to the MTP firware, you cannot go back to ver. x of the firmware.

• Nomad Explorer not detecting Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra after firmware upgr

From the firmware thread: "The Creative drivers shouldn't make any difference. An MTP device is looking for the Windows Media Player 0 MTP driver (which is installed with WMP0)."[/quote]Is that why my updated Zen Xtras (40G and 60G) are no longer recognized by Nomad Explorer on Windows XP? XP sees them. MediaMonkey sees them (and can synch). (WMP0 is installed, but I haven't tried it.) Nomad Explorer (3.0.0, 22 Sep 2004) says nothing's detected. Is this because I'm still using the latest driver (2.0.00), which the Creative download site says only supports firmware below 2.00.00. (If so, interesting choice by Creative, making us downgrade the driver.)?I wouldn't care, but Nomad Explorer is the only way (I know of) to edit the devices' names and startup bitmaps. And I wouldn't even care so much about the bitmaps, but I really really want to edit the names so that I can tell them apart in MediaMonkey's list of devices. Can we still use Nomad Explorer? Which driver should I be using? Creative's download section is anything but clear:?2.0.00 (8 Oct 2006): Supports XP but the firmware must be below 2.00.00.
.30.03 (3 Sep 2005): Supports XP but was released before firmware 2.0.03, so does it support it's?There's also a legacy OS Driver for Windows 2000 (.0.00, 27 Feb 2006) which specifically says it supports PFS players. Is this what I need? Can we no longer use Nomad Explorer on XP (even though it's listed as a download)?

Thanks, but if the Nomad Explorer requires the suite to work, I'll just have to do without it. The Creative Suite is better than it used to be, but IMO it's still not as good as MediaMonkey. Still, Creative doesn't list the Suite as being required for Explorer to work, so I don't think that's it. From the Download page:?Requirements
Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium Edition or Windows 98 Second Edition<
Creative NOMAD Jukebox 2, 3, Zen, Zen USB2.0, Zen NX, Zen Xtra or Zen Touch<
I'll try the other driver tonight and see if that's it.

• Nomad Explorer not detecting any fil

I own a Creative Zen 20GB player and for some reason Nomad Explorer no longer detects any files. It is connected properly and the "Docked" screen shows up on the player. I have tried re-installing Nomad Explorer but it still shows no files.
Any sort of help would be appreciated.

Well it has started to show the files but when I try to copy a Data File it comes up with an error "Jukebox Player Can't Be Read" or something similar. When I try to play a .avi file straight from the Data Library it comes up with an error saying "An unkown error has occured and the operation was unsuccessful.".
Also when I try to copy music files, after I copy a file Nomad Explorer closes and when I try to re-open it it crashes so I have to unplug the Zen Touch and open Nomad Explorer that way.
Any help would be appreciated.

• PC not detecting Pla

I have a Zen Xtra 30GB and when I connect it to the PC and run the software it keeps saying that it may be busy or not connected, I have also tried dragging and dropping the files into the player with the same results. Also after a while it will exit out of the USB mode altogether and the PC will not detect it at all. It is not the USB cable nor the player which is the problem as the cable works fine with other equipment and the player can connect with no problems to a mates PC,
I have changed the registry as it suggests in Solution ID # 0053 of the KnowledgeBase, but still to no avail. Any suggestions?

• Zen V Plus - Media Explorer not detecti

Hi, I'm not sure if this has been posted somewhere along the lines. If it has sorry.
Anyway, my problem is I have my V plus attached to my PC I have it turned on and it says it's docked.
But my Media Explorer and other various Media Sync programs won't detect it.
It shows up in My Computer as a Portable Device but that doesn't really help me that much.
I can transfer files onto it the old fashioned way of dragging and dropping but i'd really like the convenience of the Media Explorer.
If anyone could provide me with a solution to this I would be quite greatful.Message Edited by Konis on 04-6-200702:24 PM

• Zen Micro Media Explorer Not Detect

I just downloaded the new ZM FW the other day. I just noticed today that my Zen Micro Media Explorer doesn't detect my device. Any ideas?

No, it's not that version as such.
As mentioned you need to go to the download page (Nomadworld.com downloads). Select the Zen Micro. On the resulting list of files the one I mentioned should be listed. This is what you need to download as it has specific MTP support.

• NOMAD explorer not workin

Ok, here's the deal. I bought the 40gig nomad zen xtra and it's been working great. But, now i bought a new computer, so I need to install the software on that computer so I can transfer all my music. So I Installed the software and connected the player, but now when I click on the icon to open up the contents of the player, it just loads for a few seconds(ie: the hourglass apears next to my mouse) then does nothing. I have no idea what's going on. Any ideas?

Firstly run a disk cleanup on the player. To access the Rescue Mode hold down the play button and KEEP it held down, press the tiny reset switch once, and KEEP the play button held down until the player boots into the Rescue Mode. Choose Disk Cleanup from the menu. Note: Disk cleanup should not remove your tracks. It searches through the disk for files and rebuilds the index, and can be useful for correcting any strange behaviour.
If you still have an issue connecting then make sure to download the latest drivers, firmware and software from Nomadworld.com downloads.

• Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra: Nomad Explorer says Not connected ... first time u

I just bought a Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra. I used the installation CD to install everything and Windows automatically tried to locate a driver for it but it was not successful, so I downloaded the driver for the Zen Xtra from this website and installed it.
However, when I open "Nomad Explorer" it shows the player's logo with a red X and says "Not connected". How do I get the player to connect to the computer?
This is my first time using a Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra and I have limited computer knowledge, but I know all my USB ports are working.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi!?I'm having the same problem. I bought the player, but after a couple of weeks I've exchanged it, because of some hardware problem. The original player worked all right, but the new one is not recognized by NOMAD Explorer ("not connected"), and?I also?can't copy files via Windows Explorer. The strange thing is I managed to copy a couple of albums, but then it'sstarted to hang the Explorer. The firmware version is 2.0.03. I reinstalled the drivers and NOMAD Explorer - didn't help. PS: You've got to help me, 'cause my iPod-loving friends laugh at me, so it's my and Creative's reputation we're talking about

• Zen Touch not detected by Windows Explorer though recognised by Windows Media Pla

I wonder if anyone else has had a similar problem to this:
I am running Windows ME and my son has just received the player for his birthday.

Unfortunately the CD that came with the player caused this computer (and another) to lock-up so faulty CD assumed.

Loaded drivers from internet.

Camera and memory sticks all recognised by Windows Explorer but NOT the Zen Touch.

Now the surprise the Zen Touch IS recognised by Windows Media Player and my son can transfer files using that - but it is a VERY slow way of loading files and we would much prefer to use Windows Explorer.

Anyone any suggestions as to how to make Windows Explorer detect the Zen Touch?

The Touch is only recognised through Windows Explorer by virtue of installing Nomad Explorer.
Certainly make sure you have the latest version of this from the downloads page, you mentioned you have the latest drivers already.

• Nomad explorer and creative mediasource not detecting zen touch player. PLEASE HE

Hi, I got a new pc and I was going to install my Zen Touch mp3 player on my new pc but I could'nt find the installation cd so I followed the instructions on here and downloaded all the necessary? software, drivers, plug ins, and followed all the instructions. Once everything was downloaded and installed I plugged my mp3 player into my pc and the noise it makes came up and mtp media player pop up appeared. Windows media player accepts that my zen touch is plugged in but creative media source and nomad explorer is not detecting it's?My os is windows xp, I am using windows media player 9 as I was having trouble with windows media player . Could someone please help me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you've just upgraded to XP, you now have to upgrade your Zen as well as your Mediasource. First you've got to upgrade your Zen Touch firmware to version 2.0.05 or above. Look around on the Creative Support site and you'll find the download without too much trouble. Be warned that the firmware upgrade is permanent, and it will wipe out your Zen hard dri've contents, so say goodbye to all your music unless you want to back it all up to your PC first.
Then you've got to upgrade your Mediasource to v 3.30.2 or higher. Again, you can find the upgrade download on the Creative site. Then you've got to install Zen Touch Media Explorer v .30.04 or higher. Same thing -- easy to locate on the Creative site. Then you should be good to go!?Best,?John

• NOMAD Explorer doesn't detect Zen To

I open NOMAD Explorer and it says not connected. I would really like to look at the files in my player and edit the tags and whatnot. I can still use the Windows Explorer thing to access the player. Any help on getting it to detect or anyone have another way to edit the files?

Are you using the PlayForSure firmware(verson 2.xx.xx) for the Zen Touch player now? Nomad Explorer won't work with the new firmware. You can download the Zen Touch Media Explorer suite from the website and use that instead to replace the Nomad Explorer.

• Zen V Plus recognized by device manager, but not by Media Explorer/Windows Media Pla

Hi,
I just got back from Best Buy after buying a Creative Zen V Plus. I installed everything from the CD and plugged in the player, but the Media Explorer doesn't recognize it (even after restarting PC). The Device Manager recognizes it but there's an exclamation mark next to it. The Windows Wizard came up numerous times asking me for permission to connect to the internet and install the driver for me, and after a while I tried doing so but it said it couldn't find anything (I would like to shave that wizard's beard off).
I went through all the stickies in the forum and about 3 different troubleshooting sessions with no luck. I googled it and asked this question on Ask Yahoo!, but no luck yet.
Here's my PC info:
Windows XP SP2
768MB Ram
Pentium 4 2.8Ghz
USB 2.0 (I tried different ports, the player does seem to be charging as there's a little lightning bolt flashing on top of the battery icon)
I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out.
Thanks!

Ok. I checked my version of XP. It is XP Pro, Version 2002, SP2. I checked and already had the 2 hotfixes that were listed as being needed before proceeding. I followed all the steps and changed the registry key on "everyone" as the instructions stated to do. My ZVM is still not recognized by any of the software for transferring or organizing MP3's. My computer still recognizes that it is attached. It still gives me the device icon in the task bar. It still says it's A-ok in the Device Manager. It does everything, except it is not detected by ANY of my music software. <sigh>? Frustration is at its peak for me right now. I really appreciate all of the efforts. I'm at my wits end now. I have done everything you have indicated I should, but am getting the same results. I did purchase an extended warranty from Circuit City where I purchased this last summer. Is that the next step? Do I need to get this replaced?I love this player and really don't want to go through this again. We had to exchange it twice in the first month because it froze up and wouldn't do a thing. This last one has been perfect. I keep it in a leather padded case at all times. It never has the battery drained. It never gets jostled or bumped or dropped or anything that might damage it. When not being played, it stays on my desk in the case.
Thanks so much for any and all help.

• CRIO-9073 is not detected in "Measurement & Automation Explorer" on my Win7(64-bit) system. Please help.

When I connect cRIO-9073 with my Win7(64-bit) laptop via ETHERNET cable, it is not detected in "Measurement & Automation Explorer".
I have LabVIEW-2011 installed on my laptop.
Please help..
Thank you....

Is this a new controller? First time connecting? Does the controller have an IP address set?
The Windows firewall may interfere with detecting a cRIO if it's the first time. Make sure your fire wall is off and try MAX again.

• Nomad model# DAPAGO1 "Could not detect HDD" error

;Hello,
I see that other people have posted this question but I haven't found any answers. Apparently there was an article about this error on a site called nomadness.com, but that site is now gone. However, the fact that there was an article about it leads me to believe that there may be a solution.
Any help?
The error message I get when I turn it on is:
Critical Error
Could not detect HDD
Shutting down
Thanks

Poking around a little more I see some suggestions about this error being caused when the batteries are too low. I was actually trying to use it plugged in but without batteries. I had put it away and so I took the batteries out. If these batteries don't work can I use regular alkaline batteries? If the HDD is actually bad (I found out that the article that used to be on nomadness.com was about how to replace the HDD) I'm just going to chuck it, but I'd like to see if it can be solved by charging or replacing the batteries.
Thanks
