Non BT Mail

Hi
I have recently just joined BT, previous to that I was talktalk and wanted to keep using the talktalk address as well as BT.
You used to have to verify a non bt email before the new bt mail came out, but I can't see that option anymore, how can I setup Outlook to still be able to use the old talktalk mail ?
Thanks in advance.

According to the TT forum you can just leave it as it currently is as already said as TT do not stop you using their email just after the account is closed you cannot access the account to change details or change the password

  • Get non-Mac mail on iPad

    I have my non-mac mail set up to come to my Mail on my iMac. I'm going to be travelling internationally soon though so I need to figure out how to access those mail accounts from my iPad. The only thing I can think of so far is to transfer those emails to Google or Zoho. Any ideas?

    iPad supports most email account types. Follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4810

  • Outlook 2013 / Exchange 2013 : Shared mailboxes - Mail stuck in outbox (non-cached), Mail sends but doesn't get received (cached).

    Hello,
    We are currently experiencing some weird behaviour in Outlook 2013 since we added Shared Mailboxes.
    When we run Outlook 2013 with cached mode
    enabled:
    - I create a new e-mail and send it.
    - The e-mail goes to the outbox, and get's 'send'.
    - None of the recipients receives the e-mail.
    When we run Outlook 2013 with cached mode
    disabled:
    - I create a new e-mail and send it.
    - The e-mail goes to the outbox, but remains there.
    Now to make things even more bizarre:
    When I switch from 'cached'-mode to 'non cached'-mode, I see all the e-mail that were 'send' in cached-mode stuck in the outbox.
    Note: The DNS server configuration in Exchange is correct.

    Hi,
    How about sending on OWA? Does the issue exist?
    To troubleshoot the issue, let's run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if 3rd-party add-ins are related:
    Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
    If there’s no problem sending emails in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
    Please also disable the firewall and anti-virus program to send the emails again, in many scenarios the protection may cause the issue.
    Please also keep Exchange and Outlook patched to the latest.

  • Long delay when sending non-btinternet mail

    We are using Outlook Express/Windows mail client, and there is a long long delay when sending mail.
    It just hangs saying "Connecting..." in the status bar. Receiving email has no problems.
    Eventually it sometimes works or sometimes just times out.
    The smtp server is not btinternet/yahoo but our own email server, which we have been using for 10 years. There is no problem pinging the smtp server. e.g. smtp.ourserver.net
    It works without delays on other (non BT) home/business networks.
    We have tried plugging other laptops into this home network and trying to send email (to the same mail server) - same problem.
    It therefore seems to be peculiar to a BT Hub or BT as the ISP.
    The problem seems to have first appeared when an upgrade was made to cater for future fibre optic services.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Today I started from my Firewire-device with 10.4.11 and had ichat running from there. I chatted with my friend, who is on 10.5.1 - no problems at all. (so my router is not causing the problem, as I thought)
    Starting from 10.5.1 again I opened up Activity Monitor and found this message every 10 secs !
    25.12.07 25.12. 15:18:29 com.apple.launchd[138] (at.obdev.LittleSnitchUIAgent[654]) Exited with exit code: 1

    I remember that I installed Little snitch some time ago and removed it manually. Then today I run the official uninstaller for it. Still I cannot get rid of this activity. May be it has to do something with the text delay in ichat? How to delete all Little Snitch processes? How can someone find these data?

  • Using VIP-Contacts on iPhone breaks banner notification for non-VIP mails

    Hey,
    as soon as I add a VIP contact in Mail (iPhone 4, iOS 6.0.1), the notification settings for VIP contacts are working nicely. However, for mails coming from non-VIP-contacts the normal notification settings are fully ignored, i.e. no banners etc. Is there a way to have special VIP notification settings but still have the standard notifications for all other mail, or is the observed behaviour an intended "feature"?
    Cheers,
    Claus

    Update!
    It seems the 2.1 iPhone update fixed this problem – at least when checking via VMware and Outlook.

  • Javamail - Access MS Exchange non default Mail Box

    Hi
    My MS Exchange user has access to multiple mailboxes on an Exchange Server.
    Using java mail I can connect to my default mailbox; however I cannot find away to connect to a non default mailbox that I have access to. I am using the "imap" protocol.
    Connection code is as follows.
    Properties props = System.getProperties();
    props.setProperty("mail.imap.auth.ntlm.domain",domain);
    Session session = Session.getInstance(props, null);
    session.setDebug(debug);
    store = session.getStore(protocol);
    store.connect(host, user, password);
    The function store.getSharedNamespaces() only returns a single entry in the array for "Public Folders".
    The function store.getPersonalNamespaces() returns a 0 length array.
    The function store.getUserNamespaces(user) returns a 0 length array.
    Is there any way to access another mailbox that the user has access to?
    Thanks for your help.
    Nick.

    Hi
    As a user I will have a mail box (or mail store). My colleagues will have their own mail boxes. There will also be some shared mailboxes. Typically permissions will ensure that users cannot access other users mail boxes and appropriate permissions will ensure that shared mailboxes are accessible by the permitted users.
    Within a mailbox, folders can be created for storing mails etc.
    From my user account I wish to be able to access a mailbox other than my own (default). Permissions have been correctly set so the some mailboxes are accessible to other users.
    If its possible to access another mailbox by using the folder, then what is the format for the folder that allows me to go beyond my users default mailbox.
    Example.
    I have mailboxes called.
    Nick1
    John1
    HelpDesk
    I connect to exchange as Nick1 and have access to mailbox Nick1 and HelpDesk. Using the javamail API I can access the emails and folders in the Nick1 mailbox, but cannot access the HelpDesk mailbox at all.
    Does that make it any clearer?
    Thanks.
    Nick.

  • Migrated to new iMac - how to retrieve old non-Mac mail?

    I have been using an old MacBook Pro, but recently bought a new iMac. I used the me.com iSync (I think that's what it is called) to sync my Mail accounts to me.com, and then to sync with the new iMac. The Mac mail came over just fine ([email protected]) but I had several other accounts set up in Mail on the MBP - Yahoo, a few Gmail accounts, my web site's accounts, etc. None of the email messages came over. I get new emails on my iMac to these non-Mac accounts, but I would like to transfer over the old ones as well. I have tried to click "Get Mail" but it looks like this just gets new mail.
    Is there a way on my iMac in Mail to retrieve old emails (including Sent emails) from non-Mac accounts? I keep having to go back to my MBP to find/reference old emails.

    Reference Kappy's advice in method 1. I think this would do it for you.

  • Recovering Snow Leopard notes from non-root mail folders.

    I knew this was an issue and it was one of the things holding me back from updating my primary machine, but yesterday in a fit of forgetfulness when I upgraded some other software to my machine was more ready to move up to 10.8, I forgot about figuring out this issue and upgraded. Now I'm in a bit of a pickle trying to undersand how everything fits together and how I can make it work as desired.
    The sort statement of the problem: In Mail.app from Mac OS X 10.6.8 I had a bunch of yellow "notes" stored in a variety of folders, both "On My Mac" as well as on various IMAP servers. These notes are not available from iOS or Mail.app on Mac OS X 10.8.2, except for those stored in the inbox of my iCloud account. How do I access them?
    My understanding of "notes" in Mail.app from 10.6.8 is that they are merely a "special" email message that can be edited, and thus are easily stored on a mail server (IMAP and other protocols perhaps?) or in a local folder. With Mac OS X 10.8, I don't know if this format changed, but in any case, Mail.app no longer pays any attention to these files, and leaves them to Notes.app to deal with, but Notes.app does not traverse the regular mail folder hierarchy and so does not find the old notes. Is this understanding correct?
    Does anyone know how I can access these old notes, stored in mail folders like "On my mac" > "Domestic" > "Finances" > "Bank of Bob". I have probably two or three dozen of these notes with records of phone numbers, contact names, transaction information, etc. They were very useful to have nicely stored next to related email messages, and don't know how I will best deal with no longer having them in one place, but first I need to find them all in the first place!
    I suppose I might be able to fire up a copy of Mac OS X 10.6 and use it Mail.app from there to search through all the IMAP servers and recover/move the notes to iCloud's IMAP top level, and maybe do the same for those "On my mac" - but it would be nice if I could do it all within Mac OS X 10.8.
    Any ideas?
    - johann

    OK, you all solved my problem (or at least part). How did you do it? By making me wait. Today I opened up Notes and it said something like "Hey, you've got a bunch of notes on your local machine - should I upload them to iCloud?" It then proceeded to move all of the notes in the various local folders up to matching named folders in iCloud.
    I still have notes in subfolders on some IMAP servers that are MIA, so if you have any idea how to access to them in Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, feel free to pipe up.

  • Apple Mail clears non read mail counter

    Hello All,
    I have Apple Mail 7.1 (1827)
    My question is;
    I have 6 different mail address in my Apple Mail..
    If somebody send their mail to more then one of mail address of mine, mailboxes shows in circle "1" mail for each account, that is correct...
    But if i reach to one mail and open it (or just select), other mailbox also clear "unread counter" and thinks that i also opened mail in their mailboxes but i didnt..
    That way i miss mails if i read or not..
    I hope could explain problems.. I add pictures to explain better.
    any solution?

    This may or may not help, but I had a similar problem with Apple Mail and iphone 4 with IMAP. I am using Mountain Lion, but some new emails were coming in as already read (and driving me crazy, since I kept missing new emails). Once I upgraded my phone to iOS6, everything works in sync as it should...Apple Mail emails are now coming in correctly.

  • Non .Mac mail syncing (Gmail, Yahoo) between macs

    I would like to synchronise and keep exact copies of my Gmail and Yahoo accounts on Mail. Is it possible to do that (with the existing messages and the new ones)? I tried importing from one mac to the other but I never get option to select INBOX, only DELETED and SENT mailboxes. How does one export emails from Mail in mbox format?

    Apple switched from mbox to elmx with Tiger, so you will need something to convert your files. Here's one solution, but I haven't tried it myself.

    IMO, trying to keep them "synced" is going to involve a lot of manual forwarding, CCing mail to yourself, etc. Instead of that why don't you get a IMAP email account? With IMAP servers your messages stay on a server, rather than get downloaded to a single machine.
    If you get an IMAP account you can download POP mail from any or all of your email accounts, and then use a rule to move them to a folder on the IMAP server "automagically". Then you can access your mail from all your computers.

  • Mail tries to download hundreds of non existing mail then freezes

    when Mail opens it Mail Activity shows 600 mails (which dont exist) and shows it downloaded 72 mails (which it did not) and then keeps trying to download but nothing happens.
    Nothing works thereafter in Mail, force quit is only option.
    Please help !

    Hi Alan.
    Verify/repair your disk first (not just permissions), as described here:
    The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
    After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, and assuming this is a POP account, proceed as follows:
    1. Quit Mail if it's running.
    2. In the Finder, go to ~/Library/Mail/POP-username@mailserver/.
    3. Locate INBOX.mbox and move it to the Desktop.
    4. Create a new folder on the Desktop and name it however you wish, e.g. Inbox (without the .mbox suffix).
    5. Ctrl-Click on INBOX.mbox and choose Show Package Contents from the contextual popup menu that appears.
    6. Copy the files mbox and Incoming_Mail from INBOX.mbox to the newly created Inbox folder. mbox is the most important. Incoming_Mail may or may not be present. Copy these files rather than just moving them, so that you keep the original mailbox intact, just in case.
    7. Open Mail. A new empty INBOX.mbox will automatically be created within the account folder, and this will let you continue using Mail normally.
    8. Do File > Import Mailboxes. I'm not sure what the import options available in Mail 1.3 are, but you should choose Other / Standard mbox, or something like that. Follow the instructions to import the Inbox folder created on the Desktop that contains a copy of the mbox and Incoming_Mail files.
    Note: For those not familiarized with the ~/ notation, it refers to the user's home folder, i.e. ~/Library is the Library folder within the user's home folder.

  • Mail, iPhoto keeps asking for old non-listed mail account password

    My mother took over my old mac pro computer with OS Lion. She created a new account on the computer for herself. The problem is that the mail keeps requesting for a password for my gmail account. We looked into the account listing (in system preferences and in mail preference) and it only lists her own email - not mine. I have program specific password activated on my gmail. But the thing is, why is it requesting my gmail password (which btw is not working). She can't use iphoto to send pictures to other people or use mail becuase this password request keeps showing up and it won't send anything. It says password is invalid. It does seem to recive her own mail however.
    Help, please?
    What should we do?

    In Mail Preferences / Accounts, check the entry for outgoing mail server. You're able to choose different outgoing servers, which may be the issue. This may help:
