Non-commercial use

I open Microsoft word and it doesn't let me do anything and it has a grid on it. It says non-commercial use, how do i take it off?

Hi,
Do you have Home and Student Version of Office?
When you start a Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 or 2007   program, the title bar of the program displays the name of the program followed   by "non-commercial use." For example, Microsoft Office Excel 2007 displays   "Microsoft
Excel non-commercial use" or "Book1 - Microsoft Excel non-commercial   use."
Cause:
The "non-commercial use" text is based on the Microsoft Software License Terms for Office Home and Student 2010 or 2007 products.
In the Microsoft Software License Terms, the "non-commercial use" text identifies the use of the product. You may install one licensed copy of the software on three devices in your household. The software is not licensed for any commercial business
activities, nonprofit business activities, or revenue-generating business activities.
To find the Microsoft Software License Terms, follow these   steps, as appropriate for your situation.
Office Home and Student Office 2013
Start and Office program.
On the File (Backstage) tab, click Account.
Click About (Product name: Word, Excel etc..),
in the window that opens, click View the Microsift Software License Trems
link.
Office Home and Student Office 2010
Start any Office program.
On the File (Backstage) tab, click Help.
On the right side under Microsoft Office, click the
Microsoft Software License Terms link.
Office Home and Student Office 2007
Start Excel, Word 2007, PowerPoint, or Access.
Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click <var>Program_Name</var> Options.
On the Resource tab, click About.
Click View the Microsoft Software License Terms.

  • My microsoft office programs (Home and Business 2013) all desplay error message at startup stating " non-commercial use, not licenced product". How do I fix this?

    Hi,
Whenever I start any of my microsoft programs I get an error message stating "non-commercial use, not licenced product" and I cannot do anything in the programs. I havve the Home and Business 2013 version.
My husband bought the office programs for his and my computer and so they are both registered to his name however my email is the login, I dont know if this is relevant.
    How do I fix this?

    Hi,
Based on your description, several possibilities come to my mind.
    1. You mentioned your husband bought the Office Suite for you, did he purchase one product key or two? We need to confirm if the product key can be installed on multiple machines, if a product key can be only installed once and he installed it
on his computer first, you should purchase a new product key to activate your Office.
Since the policy differs in different areas, to confirm how many machines the product key can be installed on, let your husband ask the retailer or contact the local customer service to get the answer:
    http://support2.microsoft.com/gp/customer-service-phone-numbers/en-us
    2. Please confirm your Office version. Based on the message "non-commercial use", I found this kb:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/937676/
But it's for Office Home and Student instead of Office Home and Business, we can perform the steps below to find the Microsoft Software License Terms:
    1. Start and Office program.
    2. On the File (Backstage) tab, click Account.
    3. Click About (Product name: Word, Excel etc..), in the window that opens, click
View the Microsift Software License Terms link.
    3. If your Office is a trial version or the product key is not for the version that you are using, consider to uninstall it first, and install the appropriate version. You can probably get the installation media from your husband.

  • Outlook Pro 2007 'Non-Commercial Use Only' issue

I have outlook 2007 that states that it is for 'non-commercial use only'
I have searched far and wide for the answer but to find nothing.
There was no upgrade from 2003/home/student. Just straight OS load, Office Pro 2007 load. They did tell me that after 'something' happened it started to show that. So it has been not showing that for months, maybe years, until about 2 months ago. They can't
tell me what that 'something' was because they can't remember.
It seems to me that the only way is to reload the PC completely. We are running a KMS and in a company of 1500 PCs about 3% are having this issue. Very small but enough for me to get a call about it.
    Please dont tell me:
    That I had Home&Student - I dont
    To do repairs/uninstall/reinstall - I have 30x
To do reg edits - Reg shows that the Product ID is correct and there are no 9.0/11.0 containers
To deal with it - We have programs that use Outlook and are affected
Tp check updates - Uninstalled as far back as they can remember when it started (2012)
    Don't link this:  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2020690/en-us
Sorry about being kind of straight forward and mean but I'm bashing my head trying to figure this out. I rather not reload 40+ PC just for this issue.

    Who are "they"?
Have you verified that the correct key has been used, the Office client can renew the key via the KMS, sufficient keys/licenses are available on the KMS (depending on your licensing method) and that no unlicensed Office 2007 components are installed?
You can use the "cscript ospp.vbs" commands to further narrow things down.
    For instance with:
    cscript ospp.vbs –act
    cscript ospp.vbs –dhistory
Also note that SP3 and later updated haven't been applied yet.

  • Oracle DB Enterprise for non-commercial use

    Hi.
I've unusual question about using an Enterprise edition od Oracle Database (11g). I need to show some extended options of this daabase in my thesis, but I don't know how long can I use it after the installation. If I remember correctly, when I using 10g version there wasn't any time limits to use database, but I also know that Enterprise Edition is extremely expensive edition of Oracle DB.
    Anybody knows how it works?
    Regards
    Krzysztof

As long as your respect the OTN license http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/licenses/standard-license-152015.html there is no time limit.

  • Non-commercial Database Use

    Hi,
    Doing some database research.
Is Oracle Database 11g Express the only free edition of oracle db for even non-commercial use? Or is there a version that has unlimited User-data as long as it is for non-commercial use only?
    Thanks

ThanksYes, Oracle XE is the database that you can use as free not just for non-commercial but for commercial purpose as well. But if your requirement is jus to go for the non-commercial purpose, you can use even the Enterprise Edition too which comes along with the development license.
That said, any question related to licensing must be directed to Oracle's Sales and to your local sales rep.

  • Stratus non-commercial Terms of Use

    Dear Adobe advisers,
I would like to check whether a site like Chatroulette violates Stratus Terms of Use for non-commercial service.
Can Adobe clarify on 'non-commercial' use?
Or can a site like Chatroulette or other similar site use Stratus instead of LCCS?
    Thanks in advanced.

    No reply?
There are dozen of Chatroulette-clone that uses Stratus.
Seems like "non-commercial" is up to one's own interpretation and Stratus is up to uses as one seems fit.

  • Why does the terms for logic say we cant run these programs for commercial use

question i have regarding the terms for garage band and logic terms where is says just under section 2 it says ((i) to download, install, use and run for personal, non-commercial use, one (1) copy of the Apple
Software directly on each Apple-branded computer running OS X (“Mac Computer”) that you
    own or control; and)
im not sure if it means i cant use garage band or logic to produce music for clients for commercial use ?
    check it out here
    http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/LogicPro.pdf
    http://images.apple.com/legal/sla/docs/GarageBand.pdf

Section C/2/A/(ii) of the Logic Pro document says:
if you are a commercial enterprise or educational institution, to download, install, use and run
one (1) copy of the Apple Software for use either: (a) by a single individual on each of the Mac Computer(s) that you own or control, or (b) by multiple individuals on a single shared Mac Computer that you own or control.
    and section C/2/B says:
The Apple Software may contain sample content including but not limited to artwork, audio files, audio loops, built-in sound files, graphics, images, impulse responses, photographs, samples, sound sets, sound settings, video files, or similar assets (“Sample Content”). This Sample Content is proprietary to Apple and/or its licensors, and is protected by applicable intellectual property and other laws, including but not limited to copyright. Except as otherwise provided, all Sample Content included in the Apple Software may be used on a royalty-free basis to create your own original soundtracks for your film, video and audio projects. You may broadcast and/or distribute your own soundtracks that were created using the Sample Content, however, individual Sample Content assets may not be commercially or otherwise distributed on a standalone basis, nor may they be repackaged in whole or in part as audio samples, clipart, music beds, sound effects, sound files, sound libraries, stock animation, or similar assets.
    (my emphasis).
All this would seem to cover you for the use you propose (this is not a legal opinion). GarageBand is presumably similar.

  • Cirrus - what IS commercial use?

So, we all undersrtand that Cirrus is (at present) available for non-commercial use only. But...what exactly constitutes "non-comercial" use?
I would love to make a videogame that uses Cirrus's p2p technology. Obviously, I would not be allowed to charge for the game's sale, but would I be allowed to:
1.) make the game publically accessbile through a website
2.) assuming "1", place advertisements on the website
3.) gernate indirect revenue through the game (via in-game transactions), as long as they are in no way intricated with the game's Cirrus p2p aspects
4.) distribute the game FOR FREE through an app market (like the Apple store, Android Market, or Google Chrome Store)
I've spent a fair amount of time searching for answers to these questions on the Cirrus Forums, but came up with only obscure answers. It would be fantastic if someone (possibly an Adobe rep) could could help shine a light on this topic.
    Thanks

Bro i am pretty much in the same situation as you http://forums.adobe.com/message/4191600 . i know i cannot charge users for using the video chat service in the site i plan on creating with cirrus BUT how about advert placement on the website . someone from ADOBE please answer. Thanks

  • Master Collection Student and Teacher Licensing Commercial Use?

    Hello,
I purchased the CS5 Master Collection from my college under this program.
I know it's a perpetual license and that I can upgrade to a commercial version of CS6.
I live in North America and purchased CS5 in North America as well, so I think it's permitted to use this for commercial work. Does anyone know for certain?
EDIT: After a lot of reading through the forums and contacting Adobe helpdesk, it appears that I can use the CS5 Student and Teacher Licensing for commercial work now that I've graduated.
Here's what the packaging looks like. There isn't a warning about non commercial use, so I'm going to go ahead and do some freelance work:
    Thank you, Adobe!

  • Mac App Store Non-Commercial users only? What about Lion for businesses?

When I read the Mac App Store agreement it indicates that the accounts are for 'non commercial' use. I supposed this was to stop companies purchasing an app and using 5 times at no extra cost.
If we want to download and install the Lion update on our company Macs how are we supposed to do this? The same goes for the Server component.
Further, I have used my own personal account to use a program in the office that I had purchased at home for playing quick games at lunch time, or for free apps like Twitter. Will these stop working if I have to create a company wide account just for Lion downloads?
Lastly, our internet connection speed is very poor due to our geographic location. Will we need to download Lion separately for each computer?
Sorry if Lion questions are a bit premature, but I'm trying to plan ahead.

Apple is not actually here, just fellow Apple product users. Those business questions are probably best dealt with in a telephone call directly to Apple, either Apple HQ in Cupertino, CA, or at least the closest Apple Store.
Your games are for you to freely install on computers that you own and control personally. That would seem to include a company computer issued to you. What you should not do is start installing the games and apps on the computers of your colleagues. And you should remove the games and apps when you return the computer to your business.
You should be able to mix both company purchased software and your personal software while the computer is in your control, just remember that software can only be updated by the account through which it was purchased. So you would need to sign into your personal account to update your personal software on your company computer in your control.
The software that comes through the MAS at this point is the drag & drop variety, the kind that has normally come on a disk or you download a disc image and drag the app to your Applications folder. With the MAS the software is downloaded and placed in the Apps folder for you. These apps can be copied to the other computers you own or have in your control. You do not need to download them to each computer, although you may do that as well.
Apple has pretty much reserved more complicated installations for itself. Xcode downloaded as an Installer into the Applications folder. Lion will also come as an installer. The Installer does not have to be downloaded to each Mac, it can be copied to them over your local LAN or direct Ethernet or FireWire cable connections. Or burn to a disk. Then the Installer can be run to install Lion on each Mac. Based on your direct conversation with Apple regarding obtaining Lion for your business, you may also be able to create a common installation of Lion that you then clone to all of your company computers.

  • Premiere Elements for commercial use

Can I use Premiere Elements 12 for commercial use , like videos I make for training modules that I sell?
I looked in the EULA and buried in section 16.14 and 16.15 is reference to non-commercial use due to encoder patents.  But nowhere is a straight forward yes or no for commercial use.
Thanks for anyone that knows about this

    You are most welcome.
Going way back, Adobe once had a restriction on material produced with the academic versions (like Student & Teacher editions) of some of its programs. I do not recall the exact timing, but would say that they relaxed that restriction about 10 years ago.
Also, as Neale points out, the PrE Projects are not X-platform, but if one considers the Mac and the PC, they can output files (from the PrE Project) that ARE X-platform, for delivery. I am not exactly sure how you are referring to X-platform, but if the intent is to edit a Project between a Mac and a PC, then Neale's caveat will be very important. Though the Project file (PREL) looks the same (basically an XML database file), they are significantly different, that a PREL from a Mac, will not Open on a PC. For delivery of a finished AV file (your instructional video, in this case), if one selects say AVCHD (H.264 CODEC) for the output, that file will be viewable on both a Mac and a PC, so long as each computer has a viable version of the H.264 CODEC installed, and most will, or the user can add it. It's the same with most MOV files - so long as the PC has Apple's QuickTime Player installed. When you get to the point of delivery, do not hesitate to stop back, if you need a bit more input from the forum. Some of us have both a Mac and a PC (Steve Grisetti, for instance), but many more are tasked with X-platform delivery quite often.
    Good luck, and happy editing,
    Hunt

  • QuickTime Pro for Commercial Use?

    Hi,
I have a quick question which I hope will be easily answered; I've read the EULA for QuickTime to no avail, and tried to find online contact details for someone at Apple but I was defeated by the website and wasn't able to find a way to contact someone with this inquiry, so my apologies if this isn't the correct forum for it.
My question is - can the regular version of QuickTime Pro be used for commercial purposes, or is it only for non-commercial purposes?
I have always assumed it is able to be used for pretty much anything, but I want to clarify - I've been investigating other codecs recently (specifically, DivX, for which the software is only available for non-commercial use - if you want to use it commercially you're required to apply for an entirely separate commerical license which is priced somewhat obscenely).
    Thanks,

I'm looking for a reference to show my co-workers concerning downloading and using the free player on corporate machines. I'm getting conflicting answers and need a link to point to.
I work for a large automotive manufacturer, and currently the IT coordinator in my building is telling me: "Quick Time is free for individual use, but not for Corporate use." I can't find anywhere on the web or in the license agreement that states that.
From what I can glean from the license agreement, corporate users are not allowed to distribute it to multiple computers without special licensing. How much does a license to distribute to multiple computers cost?
I'm in tech support here, and I'd like to be able to put this on people's machines legally when they ask for it.

  • Non-commercial developer licensing

Are there any plans for a non-commericial developers license
for FB3? Either one of those free-for-non-commercial-use/"express
version" deals or at least something relatively inexpensive for
    individual developers (sub-$100's range)?
I'm in a situation where I think I'd like to use Flex for the
front end to a few at-home-hobby projects, but I'm not going to
shell out $500 or whatever for something that might not fit my
needs after I'm a few months into trying to use it. The 30 day
trial evaluation is nice, but it's not nearly long enough to make a
decision at the pace I'm going.
I would think that something like this would spread the
popularity of the technology more quickly, and even generate more
cash flow for Adobe. As an example, like many others, I'm in the
position to push for (or not push for) purchasing Flex Builder and
possibly the additional add-ons at work (a pretty large and well
known employer), but I'm not going to do so if I can't comfortably
and confidently say that it is worth the investment. I'd like to
support this technology and start becoming an advocate, but it's a
little difficult with the current situation the way it is.

    I
wholeheartedly concur. I have been experimenting with Flex
some on my free time, but I can only put in a little bit of time
here and there. Before I know it, 30 days is up. From the time I
had started with Flex2, and by the time I had enough time to really
devote to doing something with it, I'd run out of my trial. If the
demo actually clocked my usage and gave me 30 days of usage, that'd
be one thing, but even then $500 is a lot of money for what would
be for me an occasional use tool. I had a friend comment that $500
for what seemed to be primarly a GUI builder was a lot of money,
and I can agree. If I was solely a Flex guy, it'd be a non-issue,
but the door fee to get in and start checking out this club is
    kinda stiff.
Alternatively, I'd love to see Flex bundled in a CS Web
Developer package similar to CS Web Standard, but with the addition
of Flex and maybe Cold Fusion, with a significant discount for
buying it that way. At least then I'm paying a bunch of money for a
whole suite of tools that I'm getting on the whole a decent amount
of use out of and I can justify the cost much easier then.

  • Student Non Commercial Licence

hi, i want to use Non commerical Licence for After effects for free, i just intend to learn how to use it.... i am a High school student, is there any way i can get it? on the website it lets you buy a commercial licence for students and teachers, i dont need a commercial licence. thanks!

Depending on the country you're in, Academic licenses to Adobe software may or may not restrict usage to non-commercial use.  But Adobe don't offer any of their major applications in any free form, other than 30 day free trials.
