Non contiguous selection

Is it me, or has Pages lost it's ability to do a multiple non contiguous selection ?

Yes, it's just one of the many, many features that have been eliminated or changed. Leave feedback for the Pages team using the link in the Pages menu.

  • Creating multiple non-contiguous select areas

Newbie to Photoshop here.  I'm using Photoshop CS4 and would like to use the Alien Skin boken add-in to create some artificial bokeh in some photographs.  To do that I'll need to create several different select areas within the same photograph to identify all of the areas that need the bokeh effect.
Using the Quick Select tool I can easily create one area but then how to I create another area (not part of the first area) within the same photograph so that the bokeh affect can be applied to both selected areas?
thanks in advance for any help!

You use the tool with the middle (plus) option selected in the top bar.
You would probably get a better result with the Color range tool but you would need to learn how to use it in Help.

  • Selecting non-contiguous text in Safari

I cannot find a way to select non-contiguous text in Safari.
Select>Command>select does not work (as it does in Text Edit.
I am very surprised that I can't locate any information on this via google, yahoo, etc.
The only item I did find is something called "Safari Magic" but it looks pretty old and costs $19.
So here I am hoping to get "truth" from the source (or any kind person).
I'm in Snow Leopard; Safari 5.1.5.
    Thanks.

Thanks. I hadn't explored Safari's Extensions (only Firefox's). Your was a good suggestion. Alas - and to my absolute consternation - nothing for selecting non-contiguous text.

Thanks. And as I alluded to Carolyn...this is really odd and frustrating. Not just that this functionality does not exist in an Apple application while it does in other Apple apps, but also that there does not appear to be any Extensions directed at this function.
Can I be the only person in the world who selects and copies random or non-contiguous text from web sites?

  • Contiguous and non-contiguous multiple cell selection in JTable

I desparately need your help on this.
My appliaction contains a JTable. The users should be permitted to select multiple cells (both contiguous and non-contiguous) using
Ctrl + Click -- add that cell the already existing selection
Shift + Click -- add all cells in the range to the selection.
I like to have the selection behaviour as that in Excel (where you could ctrl + click on any cell to add it to selection).
    Questions:
    ==========
Is this behavior possible using JTable?
    How to do this?

    Hi, use
    JTable table = new JTable();
    DefaultListSelectionModel  dlm =  new DefaultListSelectionModel();
dlm.setSelectionMode( ListSelectionModel.MULTIPLE_INTERVAL_SELECTION  ); //1( the first one should be the one you are looking for)
or (choose 1 or 2, the rest stays the same)
    dlm.setSelectionMode( ListSelectionModel.SINGLE_INTERVAL_SELECTION );//2
    table.getColumnModel().setSelectionModel(dlm);
    table.setCellSelectionEnabled(true);Hope this helps.
    Greetings Michael.

Was that a command to the engineers, or a question for the forum?

  • Moving non-contiguous frames

It appears that you can't move non-contiguous frames in
Flash. What I mean is, say you have seven layers and you want to
move keyframes on the non-contiguous layers 1,3,5, and 7. Now, you
can select the keyframes in each non-contiguous layer by holding
the command key (mac) but when you try to move them you only can
move the keyframe that you click on, the other selected keyframes
instantly become deselected! But, if you select contiguous frames
using SHIFT, then you can move keyframes en masse. I don't get it.
Is this a feature? It seems counterintuitive to me. I hope that
Adobe fixes this in the next version of flash.

Templates would allow you to build your navigation in the template page and propagate that navigation to every child page. To change a link you would edit the template page, save it, and your link edits would then be automatically propagated to all child pages of that template. You would then have to upload all the changed child pages to the remote server for those changes to be visible on the web. It is one of the several likely methods to give you this kind of maintenance leverage.
Another way would be to investigate the use of DW's Library items for your navigation element. Like templates, one change to the Library item would then propagate automatically to all pages containing that Library item. Once again, these changed pages would have to be uploaded.
Finally, server-side includes are the optimal way to handle this (in my opinion). The navigation code fragment is contained in a separate file which is uploaded to the server. The individual pages contain directives that instruct the server to include the file's code in each such page. In this case, you would edit the include file and upload that single file to the server. That one file upload would then express your edits in each page containing it.

  • Acro 8 Pro - Extract non-contiguous pages?

A client says she has this ability in a previous version of Acrobat Pro, but not in 9:
Is there a way to extract non-contiguous pages in one operation? For example, in the Pages panel, you can select pages 1, 3, 5, and 7. Can you extract these pages? If you right-click, Extract, it seems you are forced to choose a page range. But if you right-click, Delete, you have the option to delete your group of selected pages. It would be nice to do this with Extract.

    > A client says she has this ability in a previous version of Acrobat Pro, but not in 9
    What version?
    Workaround:
Copy the file and delete the other pages.

  • Problem trying to clue non contiguous audio regions

I'm trying to glue together non contiguous audio regions after cutting up loop.
I know I should get a dialogue box telling me that logic will create a new region, but this is not happening and it wont let me glue the region together, is there an option or something to turn this function on?
any help would be great thanks

your problem is most likely that you're trying to do this with apple loops, not normal audio files. you can't use these functions with apple loops, along with others such as fade in/out and crossfade. you'll have to export the selection to a new audio file, or bounce it.

Please let me know if this is possible.

    No it's not.

  • How do I AI config for SCXI multiple non-contiguous channels

I need to configure a measurement of with multiple groups of thermocouple channels.
Using LV 5.1.1 (could use 6, but I am supporting lots of code built with 5.1.1), DAQ 6.8.1 (can up to 6.9.1 if it matters), PXI-6052E, SCXI-1102, SCXI-1303 (or TC-2095).(using SCXI addressing).
The problem occurs when I try to configure multiple scan lists with gaps between channels.
(see LV DAQ SCXI example SCXI-1102/1127/1101 Thermocouple)
    example channel list:
    ob1 ! sc1 ! md1 ! cjtemp
    ob1 ! sc1 ! md1 ! 0:3
    ob1 ! sc1 ! md1 ! 5:9
This gives an error: -10370 in AI Group Config.
Likewise if I use an individual channel in each address string. like:
    ...md1 ! 0
    ...md1 ! 1
    ...md1 ! 3
But, I can skip channels betwe
en cjtemp and the first channel of the next scanlist without error.
Also, I can add scan lists for other modules, like:
    ...md1 ! 0:3
    ...md1 ! 4:8
    ...md3 ! 12:14
    without error!
What I really want to do is to do AI Config first for all channels, then start, then loop on AI Read and some processing & storage.
When I loop through the channel address lists (strings with contiguous channel sets e.g. 3:6) I get the same task # for all config calls. Then when I loop through the AI Start's for each , I get an error -10609 in AI Clock Config.
The thing is that I cannot necessarily have all contiguous channels, and I don't want to go through a sequence of {AIConfig, AIStart, AIRead, AI CLear} for each scanlist each time through. That takes too much time and resources.
Eventually I want to configure multiple non-contiguous scanlists in multiple SCXI modules.
But, for right now I need to do this for one SCXI module.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    How can I approach this.
    Thanks
    Dave

Check the following link into the NI Knowledgebase (if you haven't already)
which I think explains your situation.
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/3efedde4322fef19862567740067f3cc/02a55e1f39

Bottom line is you will not be able to skip channels on any SCXI module
other than the SCXI-1112. You will need to include the channels in your scan
list then discard the data later.
Either that or as the Knowledgebase suggests, use Virtual Channels. You can
then miss channels out in the scan list as you require. They actually get
scanned but NI-DAQ discards the data for you.

  • Enumerators with Non-Contiguous Values?

I have seen enumerators in labview that have non contiguous values, but i cannot figure out how to create them myself. Usually they are associated with calls to external .net or .dll libraries.
In this case the return values of a function I am calling are enumerated in hexedecimal, and are basically 1 value per bit. Is it possible to create such an enum? Of course I can handle the result as an int, but this is not as readable.
    Thanks in advance

You can display it as a ring control... To the user, it would be transparent (and that is what you probably saw).  Otherwise you will have to bit twiddle to get contiguous values for the enum.

  • IRR and non-contiguous range

I am looking to calculate an IRR with cash flows that are not in a single column or row.  I am wondering if Numbers can handle a non-contiguous range and if so, how?
After experimenting a bit, I expected IRR((a, b:c, d), ) to work but it didn't. Instead, I got an error message that states, "The formula contains a list where a single argument is expected."
I would suspect that dealing with (or not being able to handle) non-contiguous ranges is not an IRR issue but any function looking for range as an argument.
Has anyone needed to do this and has done so successfully?
    -DaverDee

you can make a single range by making a aux table which references all the non-contiguous data and makes it contiguous.:
You could even do this in a different table, or sheet, to hide the non-contiguous data

  • Routing non-contiguous WAN with RV042?

Environment: RV042 V03 (firmware v4.0.0.07-tm) currently routing a /29 to an internal network.
We used up our /29 and now have a 2nd non-contiguous /29.  Both of these come over the same wire.
Is there any way to configure the RV042 to route both blocks?  I need to do 1:1 NAT with all of the addresses in the first /29 as well as 3 addresses in the second /29.  There is only one internal subnet.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Or to ask an alternatie question, is there a Cisco product that would allow me to do this routing?
