Non editable text slides in iPhoto 11? (v9.4.2)

I can't seem to add second or subsequent text slides to an iPhoto slideshow. It's not that the button doesn't work. It creates the slide in the correct sequence location however I'm unable to edit the text from the default 'Subtitle Text Here' - Is this a bug?

Yes, I can select all of the text or just a portion of it. When I highlight the text and then start typing to edit ithe text then nothing happens.
I've tried changing the font, the normal copy past shortcuts, reducing the number of slides (thinking it was a memory issue), duplicating the slide (which only duplicates the background image).
Rather than waste too much time a simple work around was to simply create new 'text' slides in Photoshop and to have these appear in the slide show.
I think it must be a bug however as one of the things I just tested resolves the problem. If I disconnect the secondary Apple Thunderbolt Display and then edit the text slide viewing it on the 15-inch built in screen of the MacBookPro it works as designed. I think it's possibly related to Thunderbolt (but not related to the Apple Extended USB keyboard which is plugged into the Thunderbolt display since using the keyboard on the Mac didn't work either).

How do I remove the black double font on my text slide in iphoto '11? I selected a font and font color but for some reason the font appears in black also in a double font format

Whatever font I select, it is showing up double with the second set of the font in black (I selected red - but if I select black it shows a double line of black) - kind of like seeing it blurry. I've never had this happen before. The font type shows selected as regular. Nothing I do gets rid of the blurry looking second font.
I'm on a Mac Book Pro 15" running OS X 10.8.4 with iPhoto 11 v. 9.4.3

Are you using the "Reflections" theme in your slide show? Then the mirrored reflection is built in and you cannot remove it. It is part of the design. Pick a different theme, if you do not like this feature.

We have specific requirment in PO (ME21N). In Item level ther is free text field "Item Texts". In Item texts we have 4 text fields
(1) Item Text
(2) Info Record PO text
(3) Material Po text
(4) Deivery Text
As per our configuration in "Material PO text" Material long description picking from Material master .We want to make this text field Non Editable.
In SAP there is facility to configure non editable Texts , But it will non editable all text fields.
How we can non editable only Material Po text .

Hi,
As of my knowledge, there is no purchase organization specific texts exits. But you may make use of the purchase organization specific text in vendor master. You may define purchase organization specific text for vendor master and then maintain the text in vendor master. You may configure to copy the vendor master text to PO automatically. Refer the doc: Copy Control in MM (Conditions, Fields and Texts): (3rd part)

You should be able to double click in the text box and add or delete text. First make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
If that doesn't help launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos, create a book and check to see if the same problem persists. Post back with the results.

How to get JTextPane partially non-editable?

I am trying to get parts of the JTextPane (that have clearly different styles than regular text) to be non-editable. So far I cannot make a partial setting like this. Netbeans (FFJ) source file editor has a feature like this, but I have not been able to locate their implementation in the source files. Once can move the caret inside the non-editable part, and even select text, but no editing is allowed.
Does anybody know how to set this up?

Here's the answer I found in 10 minutes, after having the time to take a look into it:
The non-editable text (section headers) are blue and bold. So here's the event handler for KeyEvent:

Character position in non-editable JTextPane

OK, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
I have a non-editable JTextPane ( actually a separate class that extends JTextPane ) with a mouse listener on it. I wish to be able to click on it and get a character position.
Setting/getting a caret position would make this a no-brainer, but an caret position is an onsertion point, no? And since the JTextPane is non-editable, I would not expect to be able to set/get the caret position with a mouse click.
Also, I suppose it would be relatively easy to get a character position from the x,y co-ordinate if I used a mono-spaced font, but I would rather not use a monospaced font if i can help it.
So I am at a loss as to how to proceed with this. Any help here would be much appreciated.

When a text component such as JTextPane is not editable, it still has the notion of a caret position, it's just that the caret is not visible, and modification of the text is forbidden. That's why you can use the arrow keys or page up/down to scroll through a non-editable text component.
For any JTextComponent, to find the offset into the document the user clicks on, simply use textComponent.viewToModel() in your MouseListener implementation.
If you have further trouble, post an SSCCE demonstrating your problem.

You can write a code in PAI of main screen. there by using loop at screen you can make that field editable or disabled.
Code sample:
loop at screen.

IPhoto 9.6 - slideshow to movie - text slides show only text and no image

Made slideshow in iPhoto 9.6. Runs fine in slideshow mode on my iMac. However, when I export it to my desktop as a movie, slides that I inserted text via the text slide feature (bottom right of iPhoto) - black with the text only - lost the image. BUG: iPhoto 9 Slideshow - Text Slide Bugs and iPhoto Library Corruption

I was wondering if anyone else has run into the following issues:
I have had multiple issues with iPhoto crashing, stop responding, and database corruption where I cannot open iPhoto. These issues all began when I tried to use the new themed slideshow in iPhoto v9.1. Previously, I had only used iPhoto to create basic slideshows with iPhoto v7.x. I was hoping that I would be able to create my masterpiece in iPhoto 11 (v9.1) but I have only been frustrated by my attempts so far.
What should have been a 3 - 4 hour operation has become a 20 hour nightmare and I still don't have a slideshow to show for my efforts. This has been one of my most disappointing uses of Apple software ever.
Repeatable, reproducible bugs that I have run into include:
1. Deleting a photo that appears in the timeline before a sub-title causes havoc with subsequent sub-titles (a.k.a. Text Slides). Subsequent subtitles are randomly copied to pictures following the one it was assigned to. Further, there is no subtitle icon in the timeline and the photos have to be manually modified to eliminate the subtitle. Work around is click the "Text Slide" button
2. Zooming and/or image placement is not preserved and not visible when previewed, exported, or iPhoto is closed and then reopened.
3. The iPhoto Library becomes corrupt and permissions problems prevent me from working with my photos. This happens while working on slideshow. I have had to rebuild my library and repair permissions no less than five times since I started working on my slideshow.

iPhoto's slideshow feature is fine but no tool for a "masterpiece".
Alternatives to iPhoto's slideshow include:
iMovie, on every Mac sold, as is iDVD.
Others, in order of price:
PhotoPresenter $29
PhotoToMovie $49.95
PulpMotion $129
FotoMagico $29 (Home version) ($149 Pro version, which includes PhotoPresenter)
Final Cut Express $199
It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs.
However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Express is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.

Hi Raj,
You have to set the properties of these text field as readonly.
For this you have to select the text field ... Go to the Object Pallete.
There you will see three Tabs Field, Value and Binding.
You have to click on Value Tab and there you have select the Type as Read Only.
If you do not have Object Pallet open .. go to Menu Bar Window and Click Object
This will solve your problem.

Hi Amrendra,
The reason why it gets read only its because you are deleting the object thus the binding becomes null (because the object is gone!!!). So if you don't want it to be gone, it needs to refers to anything but null. So, if once you delete the object you expect it to remain editable then you can do:
- Instead binding the inputText to the VO, bind it to some other variable (in a bean or in a binding variable) and do the logic to update the VO when required OR
- Once you delete the row, Execute a CreateInsert operation from your VO. This will allow you to create a new Row (which is going to have all values blank) but at least the binding wont be null and your input text wont get read only.
Maybe if you share in more details what is what you want to achieve in term of why do you expect the input text to remain editable (can you create a new row??)

CYMK slider color not staying put when trying to color match editable text

Hello-
I'm having trouble with Acropbat Pro and color matching. I tried the magnifying glass for the editable text box I created, but the color is slightly off. I used command 3 to open up the CYMK slider. I adjusted the slider to the color I do want (the CYMK color in the document made in Illustrator), hit "ok", but the color reverts to something else!!! I recheck the text color and sure enough the CYMK slider bar changed to something a little different. Why is this????
Ex: I click on text in the editable box, then another color option, adjust the CYMK slider to 0, 58, 28, 0 and then click ok to exit out of the color choices box. The text then changes to different color again!!! I click back on the color and somehow the CYMK slider is 3,56,28,0???? Why is this??? I'm so frustrated I can't figure out how to match this document and make it stay!!!

This is what I mean. I am bringing in an art document and creating a personalized name area. I am trying to match the text to a color on the document but the magnifying glass is off. And when I go into "other color" I am given a number of color picker options including a slider. I am given a CYMK slider if I click command 3 on the grayscale slider. I change the CYMK color slider to what I want but the document switches it.
