Non Exceptions error in DATA SERVICES

Hello everyone.
Anyone know how I can reassign the ranges for error exceptions in Data Services ?. For example an error when deleting a file that does not exist on disk, throws code 50616, but the catch object can not monitor it because it is not within the exceptions.
How I can add exceptions to these groups, or, how I can monitor these errors as they occur ?.
Error handling in Data Services is very bad in my opinion.

Do you have an example of how this would work with the catch all and a script? We are facing a similar issue where it seems our catch block is not catching all errors. In this case it appears to be a stored procedure that is missing.

The job is erroring but in the catch block we are trying to call an RFC back in the ECC system to update the status (job was triggered from ECC) and it never reaches the catch block to do this.

"Error 3000: Data Service is unavailable" error message (Web)?

Ever since I got my Palm, I've had difficulty getting on the web.
It says: "Connecting to Broadband Access" but then an error message box appears saying: "Service Connection Progress: Error 3000: Data service is unavailable".
I then have to soft reset every single time, and then I am able to access the internet just fine.
Is something wrong with my Palm? This is a brand new Palm I purchased through Verizon in June.
What can I do to fix this issue, without having to soft reset every time I want to access the internet?

I have the same error (and other errors too) with my 700P from Verizon. This is what I have found with playing. All can be repeated.
1) If I turn off phone radio then turn back on I can browse the web all day long, I can send MMS messages, I can check my email, etc. All relating to the "data" portion of the Verizon service. No Problems. But.........
2) As soon as I make a call (use the "voice" portion of the Verizon service) and then try to do one of the following above mentioned I get all kinds of ERRORs depending on the specific program I'm in/trying to use. No matter what.... error, error, error, bla, bla.
3) I can turn the phone radio of then back on and all works fine "data" wise until I make another call.
4) Note, you don't have to do a soft reset or take the battery out to get it to begin working again, just turn the phone radio off then back on.
I HAVE DONE THIS AND CAN MAKE IT REPEAT EVERY TIME WITH THE PHONE FRESH OUT OF THE BOX OR AFTER PERFORMING A HARD REST or with all normal apps installed. Does not matter.
Some other tid bits of info....
1) It appears to not matter what city I am in. The problem is the same as discribed above. Confirmed cities are: Atlanta-GA, Savannah-GA, Memphis-TN, Columbia-SC, Bristal-TN.
2) It appears to ALWAYS happen on the "EDVO" network as the "EV" is always showing on the phone screen. Have not been able to try in an area with out the EV, aka the 1x area.
This PROBLEM of course is a MAJOR pain in the rear. I have called Verizon tech support about the problem multiple times. Eash time they said they had no "record" of me calling about the problem documented in their computer. The first tech said it was my software causing the problem and to do a hard reset and don't load the problem software back on (even though I already told him I did that). The next tech said it was a currpted file and to do the hard reset and reinstall and all would be fine (even though I already told him I did that) and said to trust him, he see this all the time. The next tech said the phone was bad and FedEx'd me a new phone. It did the samething right out of the box as described above. The last tech said they need to "re-provisioned" my phone and said that would fix the problem. So she did something on her end then told me to "program my phone" doing the *228, option 1. Still does it. No correction to the problem.

How to do an error in Data Services?

Hi guys!
I´m novice with Data Services. I have one question very simple.
I have a Query mapping with a SAP table and a flat file with information to do a WHERE clausule with the table. If my query does´t has any results, how can i do an error in log to abort the JOB?
For example:
Error 1001: The Query doesn´t find the variable BURKS.

This example checks the BUKRS field. If the field is not empty then value is carried forward and the job continues to run. If the field is empty then an exception is raised and the job is terminated.

The message defined in the function will be written to the log file.

XML self referred nested element error in Data Services

Hi,
I am using BO Data services for data transfer. I am having an error while transferring data from xml file to database. Here is the scenario:
When i execute the job i get the error that an element "CategoryList" found in xml file but not found in the schema used to build the ETL plan.
i dig into that and found out that "CategoryList" is self referential. For example the CategoryList has a nested element Category, and Category has a nested element CategoryList; which makes CategoryList self referred indirectly. when i don't have this self referential mechanism the data transfer work fine with the same xml and xsd files.
Is there any special way to deal with this?

Looks like an error in a script object. Using the validation functionality with the script object open should allow you to find the error. You may need to play the "comment-out the lines" game to find the culprit(s).

Exception in get_Monitor_Log/get_Error_Log after Data Services Batch error

I have a Data Services Job that has an error (intentional to test getting logs). I submit and monitor the job through the Web Service SDK. When the job completes with error and I call either get_Monitor_Log or get_Error_Log, these methods raise an exception as follows:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The reference to entity "ERROR_STEP" must end with the ';' delimiter.
I can see both logs on the DS server under Administrator/Batch.
Why can't I retrieve the error log?

YES!!! I see the problem...SAX parser must not like the &. but how do I solve this, since it's the server
that sends this in a SOAP message? Probably needs to be packaged as CDATA, not text.

Flash Builder 4.5 Data Services Wizard, setting up REST service call returns Internal Error Occurred

I am writing with the confidence that someone will be able to assist me.
I am using the Flash Builder Data Services Wizard to access a Server that utilizes REST type calls and returns JSON objects. The server is a JETTY server and it apparantly already works and is returning JSON objects (see below for example). It is both HTTP and HTTPS enabled, and right now it has a cross-domain policy file that is wide open (insecure but its not a production server, it's internal).
The crossdomain file looks like this:

The crossdomain file is in the jetty server's root directory and is browseable via HTTP and HTTPS (i.e. browsing to it returns the xml)
Now before all of you say that using wizards sucks (generally) I thought I would utilize the FB Data Services Wizard as at least it would provide a template for which I could build additional code against, or replace and improve the code it produces.
With that in mind, I browse to the URL of the Jetty Server with any web browser (for example, Google Chrome, Firefox or IE) with a URL like this (the URL is a little confidential at the moment, but the structure is the same)
https://localhost:somePort/someKey/someUser/somePassword/someTask
*somePort is the SSL port like 8443
*someKey is a key to access the URL's set of services
returns a JSON object as a string in the web browser and it appears like the following:

Looks like the JSON string/object is valid.
I went through the Flash Builder Data Services Wizard to set up HTTP access to this server. The information that I filled in is described below:

Completing the wizard, I run the Test Operation command. Remember, no authentication is needed to get a JSON string.
It returns:
InvocationTargetException: Unable to connect to the URL specified
I am thinking - okay, but the URL IS browseable (as I originally was able to browse to it, as noted above).
I continue to test the service by creating a Flex application that accepts a username and password in a form. when the form is submitted, the call to the service is invoked and an event handler returns the result. The code is below (with some minor changes to mask the actual source).

It's a simple application to be sure. When I run it , I get the following returned in the text area field txtAreaResults:
An Internal Error Occured.
Which is equivalent to the following JSON string being returned:
{"success":false,"value":"An Internal Error Occured"}
It appears that the call is being made, and that a JSON object is being returned... however it does not return the expected results?
Again the URL constructed is the same:
https://www.somedomain.com:somePort/someKey/someUser/somePassword/someTask
So I am wondering what the issue could be:
1) is it the fact that I am browsing the test application from an insecure (http://) web page containing the Flex application and it is accessing a service through https:// ?
2) is the JSON string structurally correct? (it appears so).
3) There is a certificate enabled for HTTPs. it does not match the test site I am using ( the cert is for www.somedomain.com but I am using localhost for testing). Would that be an issue? Google Chrome and IE just asks me to proceed anyway, which I say "yes".
Any help or assistance on this would be appreciated.

Hello everyone -
Since I last posted an interesting update happened. I tested my Flex application again, it is calling a Jetty Server that returns a JSON object, in different BROWSERS. I disabled HTTPS for now, and the crossdomain.xml policy file is wide open for testing (ie. allowing every request to return data). So the app accessing the data using HTTP only. Browsers - IE, Opera, Firefox and Chrome. Each browser contained the SAME application, revision of the Flash Player (10.3.183.10 debugger for firefox, chrome, opera, safari PC; 11.0.1.129 consumer version in IE9,) take a look at the screen shot (safari not shown although the result was the same as IE and chrome)
Note that Opera and Firefox returned successful values (i.e. successful JSON objects) using the same code generated from the Data Services Wizard. Chrome, IE and, Safari failed with an Internal error. So I am left wondering - WHY? Is it something with the Flash Player? the Browsers? the Flex SDK? Any thoughts are appreciated. Again, the code is found in the original thread above.

Error while executing logical data service:XP0006

I have one physical dataservice which is caps.ds based on oracle database. I created one method in caps.ds by name gatCap(String param). basically this method will fetch the data from the database based on input parameter. This method is working fine in physical data service. . Now I created one logical dataservice named as Test.ds from this physical dataservice. I added one method getCaps(string param) method in Test.ds. Noe if i try to test this method in workshop I am getting the following error. .System error
weblogic.xml.query.exceptions.XQueryTypeException: ld:NewDSProj/Test.ds, line 26, column 5: {err}XP0006: "element {ld:NewDSProj/Caps}Caps { {http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}anyType }": bad value for type element {ld:NewDSProj/Test}Test { {http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}anyType }* 
Even in Query Plan also it is showing TypeError in red color.
 
I am attaching the capa.ds, Test.ds and required .xsd file and server log file for your reference.

Hi I changed the return type in Test.ds to caps.xsd. It is working fine. Thank you. 
Now I have the following data services. 
1.MRM_RESPONSE.ds--which is created from java method.This java method will read the data from xml. 
2.Caps.ds--which is created for Oracle data base. 
Now I created one logical data service named as Test.ds with function newFunction(String param).My intention is i want consolidated output from both physical data services based on join condition. I have the state field in both physical data services. So the output of newFunction() in Test.ds should be combination of caps and MRM_RESPONSE. In Query plan for newFunction() I am not getting any error. But if I try to test I am getting the following error. System error
weblogic.xml.query.exceptions.XQueryTypeException: {bea-err}TYPE003 [{bea-err}TYPE003a]: Runtime Type Mismatch: got an xdt:untypedAtomic value .
I am attaching latest code and server log file for your reference. In the attached zip file NewSchemas is the schemain schemas project.JavaClient contains java method.
