NON-Flash User Wants to Edit and "Recompile" an SWF or FLA file...help??

Hello!! Although I am NOT new to Mac, I have NEVER attempted to edit an SWF file and I'm seeking an EASY way to do so. I think I might be CLOSE but I'm wasting time trying to figure it out so I'm posting here for some help...hopefully!! :-))
I also apologize because I did NOT know where to post this question so KINDLY direct me if I have posted in the wrong place!
Soooo, I have an complete, original .swf flash movie. It is a Holiday greeting but the VERY LAST frame has text that is NOT RELEVANT and I wish to change that text.
It appears that the text I want to change is (I do NOT know the correct term) a "layer" of graphic content for the last frame.
So, I have done TWO THINGS: I have used the Flash Decompiler app to (1) create an .fla file and (2) DECOMPILED the entire .swf extracting ALL the resources/objects that are used to create the original .swf animation. I have NO IDEA what to do with the .fla file...I know it is used to edit the animation but I do not have software to manipulate the file.
BUT, in the decompiled files, I HAVE LOCATED the one resource...a TEXT RESOURCE...that I wish to change. This extracted text resource is named "Dynamic text 293.swf", saved as in .swf format.
Now HERE is where I am STUCK!!...and I THINK this is the direction I would like to go:
1. Open the Dynamic text 293.swf file in a format that allows me to EDIT THE TEXT I wish to change. HOW DO I DO THAT?? Can I convert it to a jpeg, edit the text, and then BACK to an .swf file?? Can I simply CREATE a JPEG and somehow SAVE IT as an .swf file to REPLACE the Dynamic text 293.swf file? Is there an EASIER/DIFFERENT way to edit the text in this Dynamic text 293.swf file?
2. After editing the text in the Dynamic text 293.swf file, HOW DO I "RECOMPILE" the folder of alllll the extracted resources from the original .swf animation, NOW with this NEW/EDITED Dynamic text 293.swf file, and RECREATE the full .swf with the changes I made??
Again, I do NOT have FLASH or MACROMEDIA or any of those apps :-/ I DO have the .fla file conversion AND have isolated the SINGLE extracted resource file (Dynamic text 293.swf) that I want to edit.

That's a problem, since the format changes between jpg and swf when converted
probably won't just go back to their previous state, less the changed section.
The converter you have, is it a freeware to convert swf to fla; or what does it say
that it can do? In some cases, a flash video can be copied (perhaps illegally)
through use of a software such as Ambrosia's SnapZ ProX and a movie of any-
thing playing on your Mac can be copied. So, a movie could be paused at the
end where the unwanted content exists, so the copy would not have it recorded.

Otherwise, there are a few shareware and freeware editors for swf content; to
some degree or another they either convert content or allow some editing.
And this may only work as far as the item's creator allowed, if the file is locked.

convert the string of images into single-frame jpgs and work on each one,
but could not get them back into an swf. Perhaps graphic converter or other
software could do something for these; but I am inexperienced in all that.

I have similar problem. We are producing a 70 meg browser based game and would like the user to be able to cache the game to avoid reloading the game the next time. Can this be done if the user authorise the save? If, so how? We don't care where the game is cached .

I have the same problem. Right now my iPhone 5S shows 3 instances of the computer to which it is connected under Settings » General » iTunes WiFi Sync. I'm having problems connecting and syncing, and this is probably the cause: the phone chooses one of these connections, and it isn't the one that's actually in use. What's probably happening is that the phone and computer establish a connection using a dynamic IP address, the address becomes "disassociated" due to error, another address is associated, the phone retains each address/link, and each link is displayed as if it represents a separate computer (the fact that the name of the computer is identical is ignored, as the only thing that is considered important is the IP address). But that's all conjecture. More important, I'm not sure how to fix the problem. A network reset doesn't do it.

i've created a InfoSet and a Query and my users want to use the Query. The Query has a default Variant and the Default-Variant also has a Default Layout. When the user wants to run my query, he gets an error:

There is a permission for a Variant-change necessary ....
I do not know why he gets this message, because he does not want to change the Variant, he only wants to use the Variant. Or should i give him the permission? But i don't that he is able to change the variant i've created...
Any ideas ?! Any help will be appreciated.

maybe you solved it inbetween. If not, you might entered something in the authorization-group of the the infoset:
Infoset --> GoTo --> Global Properties --> Authorization Group
If there is something entered the user get the DB626 message while chosing a variant in SQ01 (if he does not have authorization for S_PROGRAM / P_ACTION = VARIANT / P_GROUP --> Authorization Group)

PT880Neo Flashed Bios to 1.8 and now gets blank screen! Please Help!

Well my problem was that i cant get my 3.2 Cpu to work so I have to use the 2.8 533mhz 512cache Cpu.....Ok so i got my windows installed then i went to the point till i got internet then i installed all the drivers and stuff from the disk then i ran Liveupdate3 and it did a few updates to it until i finally got to the 1.8 flash bios update so i put in floppy and did as instructed on the screen the comp restarts and the floppy boots then all those words came until i got to the point where it said Please remove the floppy and restart your computer so i removed the floppy and push restart on the computer......After i restarted the screen turned blank and nothing came on but the comp was still on. I would hear this beep sound every now and then.... Please Help Me! T :undecided:hanks!

following instructions. But I never see any of this code - all I
get are errors and the Movie timeline. How do I get to the code to

FLA file if you want to edit the FLA file
To do this you need to open the photographer.fla file, go to

How to make a movieclip and import it to another fla file ?

Hi,
I am having one of those 'self doubt sanity' moments.
Entering melt down here !
I want to make a movieclip from a graphic map background, and some existing movieClips that reside in another .fla
In this other .fla file the movieclips are in the wrong layer so by starting over I wish to tidy things up.
How do I create a movie clip from such ?
Then I start thinking, how does one create a movie clip, then bring it into another file ?
I even did a test that went:-
1) create new AS3 file
2) draw a box
3) select box and hit F8 Convert to symbol, select movieclip and name it box_movieclip
4) d/click box and made a classic tween and had box moving across stage.
5) save as and named file MovieClip_Boxtest.fla
6) open new file AS3 and import to library the BoxTween.fla and got a message saying One or more files not imported as problems reading them.
So having done the above stages 1 to 5 which made a movieclip, how do I get that into another fla file ?
having done this before I am panicking that I have lost some brain cells !

When I want to move a movieclip from one fla to another I just right click it in the library and select copy. Then I go to the library of the other fla, right click the library (off any other symbols) and select paste.

How do I run this? I mean if I make some changes how do I convert it back to a swf file?
I created a swf file from one fla file but I got a file that was like 20x less in size then the original. I think it was not using the files in the folders.

I am trying to email a pages doc to a Microsoft Word user. They cannot open the doc. They will also want to edit and send back to me. What do I need to do? Add an app or format it differently?

Basically, how do I interact with MS users for Word? Best to use textedit rather than pages?

Correct for "Export", but Pages '09 has no difficulty opening .docx format files (other than the same incompatibilities that exist with .doc format files. Updating text for non flash users

Hi there,
I´ve got a client that wants a basic flash site built
and they have no Flash or Dreamweaver experience. The main problem
for me is that they want to be able to update some textfields
themselves. Their vision is to have like a basic text document that
they simply upload and bobs your uncle, it´s finished.
I´m kind of a rookie on flash and site design and know the
basics, but this is sort of out of my area of knowledge. Greatefull
for any tips that might solve this problem.

If you look at mytext.txt in the text file, I believe you can
understand it is not suitable to hold data like long text,
paragraphs, or a lot of data. xml would be easier to manage, if you
have more data & need to have formatting when display it.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do this... I had to use advanced permissions on the %SYSTEMROOT% folder so that the specific group of users I have are the only ones allowed to write to it. It uses a temp file, and writes it to c:\winnt while it is working with it (which is only when ATM is writing changes to the atmreg.atm file at application close time)... so your user(s) will have to have only the "Create Files/Write Data" permissions to the whole of the winnt folder (and modify permissions on the atmreg.atm file) to use atm. I had to use a utility that traces thread, file & Registry access to determine how to make this work. This is the ONLY way, ATM is hard-coded to use atmreg.atm in the system root folder (as well as to use the temp file in the system root folder), and it needs create files/write data permissions on the system root folder to use the temp file. I hope this makes sense to you... if not, e-mail me [email protected] and I will send you my document for fixing the problem.

Illustrator CC2014 won't reopen file just recently edited and closed. "Illustrator cannot open file" message.

Windows 7 Home Premium, Dell XPS desktop. First problems with AI in a LONG time. Used to be able to go to the control panel for programs and "repair" the installation, now can only un-install.
This file is originally from a previous version of AI, opened it in CC2014 and edited, nothing extensive, just text updates, and after closing, it won't open again. And the program crashed. After a re-start of the computer, I could open a different file, but not the "problem" file. After re-doing the edits on another (even earlier) copy of the source file, the same thing happened. I can place the file in InDesign, and export to pdf, which views fine. I plan to try to edit the InD pdf in Illustrator, to see what happens.
Otherwise the computer seems to be fine, all other apps seem stable. So far.

The file size is the same as the previous version. I placed the AI file into InD, made a pdf, and can open and edit that pdf in Illustrator. If I could get the "bad" file to open, I would save as to a new file, see if that would help, but since it won't open.... Just weird. I should have what I need now, so I don't plan to spend any more time on it. Thanks for thinking about it. I just hope I don't end up eventually having to uninstall/re-download and re-install Illustrator!
The only image is embedded, no link. I don't have any non-standard plug-ins. I will keep in mind about the preferences, but why only this 1 file having a problem with them? I did install some fonts for another job while also working on this; I will keep that in mind, too.
