Non HP Printer

Forgive me if I have this wrong Is it true I cannot print to a non HP printer? I tried to setup my Brother printer (does not see it).  I input ip manually but does not accept it.  I am not talking "E" printing.  I am at a loss that you would build a tablet that would ony print to HP, not talking e print once again.  I know my ip is correct have set up with 3 other computers and all using same ip.
Any information or advice would be appreciated.
On a final note I did search but did not see exactly same issue.
Thanks Judge

I have a Lexmark and was told by customer support that the HP TouchPad will not recognize the printer. My router and IP address all are recognized in the setting.  Is there a way to get around this?  Seems strange, there are millions of Lexmark printers!!!
Thanks

Hi, John.  There is no way to get around it.  The TouchPad is only compatible with HP printers manufactured in the last five years.  It is not compatible with any other manufacturer.

    Printopia is another option but be aware that since these solutions effectively act as a print server and AirPrint receiver, they require a computer to be running on the same WiFi network.
    Canon also has a couple of apps in the App Store that might facilitate this on non-AirPrint printers. Check out...

    YOu have not provided any system info, version info or details about your printer. This is not going anywhere beyond stating the obvious - your system is not color managed.

  • How can I print from ipad to non wireless printer?

    How can I print from ipad to non wireless printer.
    ....been trying to save document to pc to print.... but cant find a way to do so.....?

    Actually you can print to a non wireless printer if you have apps on the iPad and your computer that will do this and as long as you can set up a WiFi network or the iPad and the computer are already on the same network.
    I Am running an old OSX version on my iMac at work (Tiger OSX 10.4.11) and I have an app on my iPad called Save2 pdf. I downloaded a helper app on the Mac called WePrint. I do not have WiFi at work, but I create a WiFi network using the Ethernet connection to the Mac that my iPad can also join. As long as I can send the file/text/document to the Save2pdf app, I can print it on my old HP LaserWriter1012 which is not a wireless printer. This uses the Mac as the print server and the WePrint app on the Mac sends the doecument to the printer.
    It's not a very elegant solution, and it is a little convoluted, but it does work.

  • How can I print from my iPhone to a non AirPrint printer

    How can I print from my iPhone to a non AirPrint printer?  I was told by an Apple tech to do so via Airpot Express USB port. I already have a wired and wireless network and printers connected via Ethernet.  I am just trying to print from my iPad and/or iPhone to my existing printers...if possible. I tried the airport express but that does not appear to do what I need. Any help or a definitive "no way" would be appreciated.

    There are third-party apps that permit this. If on a MAC, get this:

    PC, get this:

  • UPS Maxicode in Adobe Forms - non-zebra printer

    Hey guys,
    I have a problem regarding printing an UPS Maxicode on a regular printer (HP Laserjet P3015) in Adobe Forms: It just won't print.
    I'm using the "UPS Maxicode" object in the "barcode" library (LCD ES3, Version 10.4). After some research, I found this guide:
    UPS maxicode on SAP Adobe forms - Contributor Corner - SCN Wiki
    The scripting described there works great for printing the UPS Maxicode on a zebra printer - but the non-zebra printer scripting doesn't work for me.
    There isn't much to find about this on google, so I hope you guys can help me. I experimented with printers, device types (i.e. PDF1) and such, but the result remains the same. What else can I try? Am I missing something?
    Thanks for your time / help,
    Chris

    You can find some information about it in this document:

  • Print smarform to a non-default printer?

    I am writing a print program to manually print a smartform.
    Which means, no SAP output message is involved.  No entry created in the table NAST.
    I assigned the printer short name to the output_options-tddest.  It only prints if the printer is same as the user default printer in the user profile.
    Any one has experience on how to print a smartform to a non-default printer?
    Thanks a lot.

    Do not worry about this question.  The cause is that I misspelled the export parameter.
    Sorry.

  • Non-Domain Print server

    Hello All,
    We set up a non-domain print server for our SAP integration. We have several printers all being shared. When we go to add a printer on a workstation or terminal server through add a printer and choose network we can bring up list through typing in \\servername\.
    When we use windows explorer it says we can not access. How can we allow them to browse printers through windows explorer? This will be done from domain and non domain accounts.
    -File and printer sharing is on
    -Windows firewall is off
    - Guest account is on

    Hi,
    à
    When we use windows explorer it says we can not access.
    Would you please let me know complete message that you can get?
    Please follow the path: Control Panel-> Network and Sharing Center-> Change advanced sharing settings.
    Please also click ‘Turn on network discovery’ and monitor the result.
    If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.

  • Connect a non-AirPrint printer to an extended Airport Express

    I connect a WiFi-capable but non-AirPrint Epson printer to an Airport Express (2nd Gen) by USB, and the Airport Express is extending the WiFi network (5 GHz) of an AirPort Time Capsule.
    How to config them to use AirPrint from my iPhone which said there was "No AirPrint Printers Found"?

    You will need to install additional software on your Mac to possibly allow the iPhone to print to your non-AirPrint printer.
    A popular choice is Printopia.  There is a free trial period, so you will know if it will work before you buy.

  • Install Non-postscript print on Solaris 10 x86

    I tried to setup a print queue on solaris 10 x86 for a Brother HL-1230 non-postscript printer which attached to Linksys EPSX3 print server parallel port 1 (L1).
    The network configuration as followed:
    EPSX3: 192.168.2.250
    Solaris box: 192.168.2.170
    /etc/hosts:
    192.168.2.170 neptune
    192.168.2.250 epsx3
    I used the printmgr to setup my print queue. In the destination field I typed epsx23:L1 and pick up the printer drive by model number using ppd file.
    I'm able to use the print queue to print text file, eg. /etc/hosts.
    However, I didn't get any ouput from web browser. When I print from the PDF viewer, it complained there is no supported postscript printer.
    Did I do something wrong in the setup? When I used the lpstat -p command to see the print queue status, it return nothing. Is there anything wrong with the print server daemon?
    Thanks.

  • CC&B Payment receipt - Printing with a non-POS printer

    Hello Experts,
    We are facing 2 issues with the payment receipt functionality in CC&B :
    - Our client want to print those receipt with a desktop printer (non POS). Is it possible to modify extend the printing option offered by CC&B ?
    - We also want to modify the content/format of the receipt. Is it possible to modify it ?
    I havn't found any content about those receipt modification and non-POS printer usage. Do you have any experience about it ?
    Kind Regards
    Antoine

    I'm not sure if there is a standard way of doing this, but what you can do is to alter the print button to invoke a UI Map instead that will contain the dynamic values on what needs to be printed, the same JSP that invokes the UI Map will have to call the page print functionality of the browser.
    You can also research on how to automate the print spooling process so you don't need to see the Print option pop up.
    Hope this helps!

  • JVM crashes when selecting non-default printer in ReportViewer in NATIVE dialog.

    On ReportViewer frame i have the print button active.  If i click the print button (Native dialog) and select a printer other than default printer, the JVM crashes.  Any idea how to fix it?
    Thanks

    I wanted to provide little history of what I am trying to achieve.  Currently, I have the following code:
    PrinterJob printJob = PrinterJob.getPrinterJob();
            if (printJob.printDialog()) {
                String printerName = printJob.getPrintService().getName();
                String printJobName = printJob.getJobName();
                PrintReportOptions printOptions = redirectPrinter(printerName, printJobName);
                sendReportOutputAndClose(reportClientDoc, printOptions);
    I want to capture the number of copies user selects from the dialog.  When I do printJob.getCopies(), it always returns 1.  Not sure how to get that # of copies user selected.  I also wanted to the dialog to be in Native mode because I don't want to give access to modify Margins and other page properties which are part of COMMON dialog mode.  If I create the dialog printJobAttribute.setDialog(JobAttributes.DialogType.NATIVE); then VM crashes when selecting a non-default printer but I am able to get the number of copies.  The key is I need to use NATIVE dialog and get the number of copies.  One option is to display in COMMON dialog mode and then hide the "Page Setup" and "Appearance" tabs.  Can this be done ?  I am new to Java and Crystal so any suggestions would help.
