Well in that case I think you should start with:

ECP CI Start and Instance Profile not showing in RZ10
Hi,
I am not able to access or view our ECP Central Instance Start and
Instnace profile for ECP CI Instance in RZ10 , I do not see the start
and instance profile for ECP CI Instance. However, I do see start and
instance profiles for APP1 and APP2 instance, but just not CI instance.
So, when I try to re-import the profiles I get the below error message.
I wanted to check if it is access related, so, I logged on the the ECP
CI Server physicall and had tried to accessed the ECP
CI Server and try to access the below path from start --> run -->
SAPGRPPRD\sapmnt\ECP\SYS\profile\ECP_DVEBMGS02_ECC-Prod-CIS and
SAPGRPPRD\sapmnt\ECP\SYS\profile\START_DVEBMGS02_ECC-Prod-CIS and it
works. But the profiles are not being read
From ECP CI RZ10. Can you please advise why this is not showing.
Error Message when i try to import the profiles:

Please advise?Hi,
I logged on the the ECP

as per above statment you have login to CI and try to call CI proifle file manually. then can you tell us why this both the host name are different.

Can not start SAP instance after change the profile
Dear all
We use system copy to build SAP system.
Source
Ecc 6.0(64 bit)
Windows Server 2008 SP2
SQL Server 2008 SP2
Target
Ecc 6.0(64 bit)
Windows Server 2008 SP2
SQL Server 2008 SP2
In target system, we want to use the instance profile as source system,
but after copy from source system we find that if parameter em address_space_mb = 512 in the profile,
we can not start SAP instance.
Could anyone explain it?
Best regards
ShirleyHi Shirley,
I assume the hardware is less on the target than on the source or they are different at least in terms of hardware specs
If the system is not starting, check the dev_disp.log, the stderr* files, and the dev_w0 log from the work directory to find the exact error. Does the system start if you increase or decrease this value?

SQL Server Non default Instance
Hi
I believe that the Installer for the Server Package, 2005 2007 whatever isn't able to script SBO-COMMON database in an SQL instance other than the default one. Em I right?
I also believe that moving databases after having created other SQL Server instances should allow for different Servers to point to different SQL instances without experimenting any other issue across the board. Em I right?
In other words, my question is : Is there anyone out there that can confirm that a single SAP B1 site can have more than one SAP Servers, running each their own version, having their respective SBO-COMMON database under different SQL Server instances?
Thanks
CharlesHi Paul, thanks.
This doesn't solve the whole issue, but certainly help taking good decisions for the "Patch Level(s)" aspect of it.
Thank you very much.
However, I have been testing the following lately:
sqlserver\B12005
sqlserver\B12007
both integrated as separate instances database engine. Everything, every function in B1 tested so far, including the DTW operate just fine under this architecture.
Therefore I still think that the Server Installer should allow us to deploy B1 this way, again for resource optimization purposes.
Please note that most folks attempting to integrate B1 under SQL Server Express would probably appreciate being able to install under sqlserver\SQLEXPRESS as well, which I believe will not work with the current Server Installer unless you install SQL Express by simulating a 'default' instance (that is, one without any backslash).
Thanks again !!

Sun Application Server - Trouble starting default server
Hi everyone.
I am new to J2EE and am currently trying to get the Sun Appliation Server to run, but am having difficulties.
I have installed version 1.4 of J2EE SDK.
Running Windows XP SP2.
When I run the program Start Default Server, it hangs for ages on the message "Starting Domain1, please wait" and finally after about a minute or so gives me an error message stating:
"Timeout waiting for domain domain1 to go to starting state.
CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1."
I have been told that it is very common to get problems with the port you choose for the JMS to be the same as somehting else on your PC. I have experimented with different port numbers (all of which not in current use - as indiated by netstat -a in the cmd window).
If anyone knows anything else I could try that would be great and much appreciated.
Cheers
Phill

Starting CF instances using different jvm.config files
Hi.
There are instructions for creating/using individual JVM
configs for each
CF server instance here:
http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_18206
The instructions cover starting the instance and specifying
the alternate
config via both command line, or as a Windows Service.
But what about via JRun Administrator? I see no option to
specify any
arguments for the "start" process.
(I have to concede whilst I've *started* googling for an
answer, I am being
lazy and asking here before I've got too far with it: sorry).
Adambrahms_x01, while this doesn't help the orginial poster -
have you ever considered spending $195 and calling support for
help? You'll spend _A LOT_ more than that upheaving and moving to a
new application server (which will also have its own set of unique
issues - including crashing). If all you've done is complain about
your problems on the fourms, then I've got no sympathy for you.
This isn't an official support center.
nyck6623 is on the right path. The default GC, quite frankly,
sucks. But you need to be _very_ careful switching out your GC. Do
it wrong, you can make things much worse. See these documents:
http://www.javaperformancetuning.com/
http://www.pixl8.co.uk/index.cfm/pcms/site.resources.cfmxtuning/
http://java.sun.com/performance/reference/whitepapers/tuning.html
http://java.sun.com/performance/
As always, becareful in what you do, and load test load test
load test. You also might want to look into turning on VerboseGC so
that you can see what your heap is doing. It'll write out to your
server-out.log file. That'll help you tune the JVM as well.
Finally, you might want to stop the GC from running every 60
seconds. When the GC is running, ColdFusion isn't.
Turn on VerboseGC = -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintGCDetails
-XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintHeapAtGC
Force GC = -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=3600000
I'd bump your threads up to 10 or 12, and limit the cached
queries to 50. And if you can afford to do it, add some memory to
the servers so you can up your -Xmx limit. CF likes to breathe,
deeply. I've got 4GB in my servers, and I set -Xmx1024M and the
heap routinely runs around 700MB (with CF actually using around
200MB).
You might also want to consider turning on metrics so you can
see how your threads and memory are doing.
Turn on Metrics =

AdilHi Adil,
Please check
Is sapstartsrv process running with the profile?
If yes kindly do the clean shutdown and try to start the system.
Check for the permision to sapstream files in /tmp.
srwxrwxrwx 1 <sid>adm sapsys 0 Aug 26 2012 .sapstreamXXXXX
you can do the chmod 777 <specific file>.
Hope this helps.

Hi All,
We have two named instance in "test" server. the names like test\a & test\b... The tcp\ip for test\a is dynamic and for test\b is default port 1433... Now customer requested to install the default instance...we had an issue with installation
that is the default port number is in use so, the default installation failed and then i changed the settings in registry to use the dynamic port for default instance and then i manually start the sql servers...seems all are good...but when i connecting this
default instance from out side of the box through SSMS it's pointing to the named instance which one having the default port number(test\b).
We can change the port number for test\b and assign that port to default instance...but the applications which are connecting to the test\b those are using the default port number...so, we don't want to disturb the connectivity...
is there any way to fix this issue with out changing the port number for test\b ?
it is urgent...we have to fix this issue ASAP..
Thanks in Advance,
rupHi rup,
Glad to hear the issue is resolved.
As your post, if SQL Server is configured to use dynamic port,
it is difficult for application connectivity because the port number selected changes every time that the Database Engine is started.
From your description, you have changed the dynamic port number to static port number. To avoid a common pitfall, please also ensure that
you have deleted the entry (0 or some random port) for dynamic port in SQL Server Configuration Manager. For more details, please review this
blog.
Thanks,

It sounds as if your host name is not setup to resolve in your DNS. You can
either add it to the DNS, or if that's not available, you can manually add
it to your hosts file (located in c:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc -- if the
file does not exist, you can create a new one).
