Non persistent block association across reboot - help needed
Hi
Im faily new to Solaris and am currently facing the following problem. In a non-global zone I was able to create a file system by using zonecfg through the global zone. I added the entry in vfstab and was able to mount this properly in the non-global zone. At the time the df -k output in the global zone showed me
/dev/lofi/1 mounted on /foo. However i did a global boot of the system (autoboot=true) and realized that the block device exported was not persistent. After that I ran the "mountall" command in the non-global zone and got
checking ufs filesystems
/dev/rlofi/1: Invalid argument
Can't open /dev/rlofi/1
/dev/rlofi/1: CAN'T CHECK FILE SYSTEM.
/dev/rlofi/1: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY.
fsckall failed with exit code 1.
mount: /dev/lofi/1 is not this fstype
What am i doing wrong here ? I would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
yea i have along time ago and also made a update to xlr8's drive database. cause i fixed the problems with the drive in OS 9.2.2 (AKA no burn support with the built in burning app or iTunes, now have full support for burning with the finder burn and iTunes thanks to a edited PioneerCDR authoring support extension that someone edited for me. found out that the Apple CD/DVD driver extension was at fault for the locking up on wake up with hdd sleep enabled that started when i installed the Pioneer drive. fixed with intech CD/DVD speedtools 6.0).
When i did the first report on the drive database on xlr8yourmac i reported what problems i was having in OS 9.2.2 and i think i reported that i had no problems in jaguar, and was trying to obtain a driver or something to try to get it to work. but to no avail at first. after i fixed the problems i did a update report
in jaguar the drive had no problems but no burn support. installed patchburn and the drive worked 100% in jag no problems what so ever. im thinking it has somthing to do with one or all of the extensions with errors but i can be wrong.
i just wonder where ryan has been on the forums in OWC's site. cause i would like to submit my crash log panic log and the extensions with errors so he could help track down the problems to see if it cant be fixed. but ive tried emailing him but no replay's. and his last reply on the OWC forums was back in desember 2005 a few day's over a year
i know it isnt the drive cause it worked flawlessly in tiger 10.4.8 on my friends Digital Audio but i know why it worked fine cause it has the proper files for the DA to work cause its a supported system. i would like to try to help to get xpostfacto to work better on the Beige G3 system
in tiger if it is something to do with xpostfacto

Inter Applet Communication across frames - Help Needed
I am trying inter applet communication across frames. For this to happen I am using an intermidiate
class which registers two applets and whenever any applet needs reference of other applet it gets it
through this class.
The page is an important part of a navigation link. So it is loaded many times while traversing through
the site.
Every time I load this page the applet does not paint itself (shows grey or background) and the browser
stops responding. The machine needs to be restarted. This also happens when we keep that page idle for
a long time (say 2 hours - session does not time out but applet hangs). I have used another thread object
which is for utility and accesses the applet in the other frame every 10 seconds or so.
When the applet hangs it does ot throw any exception or JVM error. This happens on certain machines
evrytime and never on some machines. The applet hangs only in Microsoft IE 5 & 5.5 and never in Netscape
4.x.
What could be the problem?
Can anyone help me with this problem? Its a deadline project and I can't get through.
Thanks & Regards,
RahulTry making the register and getter methods of the intermediate class static synchronized. Then register the applets in their start() methods and unregister them in their stop() methods. Call the getter method of the intermediate class wherever you need access to another applet and never cache the instance you get. You may have to also synchronize all your start() and stop() methods to the intermediate class, as well as all methods that perform interapplet communication.
Tell me what happenned ... -
I have a few songs that I purchased that either will not play or play for a minute and quit. None of the suggestions in the Help section apply to my problem. What do I need to do?
hello, normally such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please try to remove all program rules for firefox in your firewall and let it detect the program again: [[Fix problems connecting to websites after updating Firefox]]

Help needed in defaulting Dynamic assignment blocks
Hi All,
We are trying to default assignment blocks based on the configuration saved against each object type.
Procedure followed is as below
Created 2 configurations, one for sold to party and the other one for ship to party in the BP_Head cpmponent for the Overview page. Two configurations of the overview page are saved against a role config key but with a variant of object type
Created two logical link IDs one each for sold to party and ship to party
Make these two logical link IDs available in the UI as direct link groups
Upon clicking sold to party the configuration saved against that(Set of assignment blocks in the overview page) needs to be called (Remember we saved this configuration with a variant of object type)
Similarly when clicking on the ship to party link corresponding configuration (Set of assignment blocks in the overview page) needs to be displayed
Any inputs on this will be of great help.
Regards,
udayayou need to redefine the method DO_CONFIG_DETERMINATION of your controller
there you get the role and any other needed values, and you define the OBJECT_TYPE and SUBTYPE that will be used as key fields for the configuration -
Since upgrading to Lion OS 10.7.1, the wifi connectivity keeps blocking up intermittently and we need to manually keep switching on and off the wifi utility to get the connection back. even locking the preferred wifi network in system preferences does not help. This never used to happen with Snow Leopard
This is a big thank you to Rys Sinnefeldt who posted this fix.
Rys has made this fix very easy to do and takes literally 2 mins. It involves replacing the Atheros Lion driver 4.0 and replacing it with the snow leopard driver. Don't worry, Rys has made this so simple to do even I could do it and so far I have had no more wifi drops.

How to create a apple ID without credit card needed i want a none credit card.. Please help me... Thank you hope u replied as soon as possible.. Thank you again..
Hello, chard2say22.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
To create an Apple ID without a credit or debit card, there is a specific series of steps that have to be processed in order to allow the payment to be set as none on creation of the account.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
If the specific steps have not been processed, a credit or debit card will be required to complete the setup of the account.
However, it can be removed and payment method changed to none as long as there is not an outstanding balance. At this point an iTunes gift card can be used as form of payment.

Need to cache non-persistent field value
Is it possible to have a non-persistent field in PC class which value will be updated by app, stored in DataCache and then can be used when PC instance will be taken from DataCache next time?
I tried to map my field as persistence-modifier="transactional" or "none". I do see in my log that the object is taken from cache, but that transient field value is always null after object retreival.
Thanks, Denis.Thanks for the hint, Abe.
I got what I need via custom filed mapping. If anyone interested:

No, this is not possible. The data cache acts exactly like the

[SOLVED] netcfg static IP not persisting across reboots in VM
I ran into an issue with netcfg static IP not persisting across reboots in a VM. I figured it out, but it took me awhile as a brand new user, so I thought I'd post it.
Setup
Using VMWare Workstation 8.0.3 build-703057 with bridged networking
Host OS: Linux Mint 14 64-bit
Guest OS: Arch Linux 2013.03.01 x86_64
Given a fresh install on the guest, setup netcfg:
cd /etc/network.d
cp examples/ethernet-static ./myprofile
nano myprofile
# customize this file. I also added NETMASK='255.255.255.0'
systemctl enable netcfg@myprofile
systemctl start netcfg@myprofile
Test the configuration. It should be successful:
ping google.com
Problem
See if the changes survive a reboot.
reboot
ping google.com
I got the error "connect: Network is unreachable".
Check the logs:
journalctl
G
I found the following netcfg failure..
[email protected]: main process exited, code=exited, status=1/FAILURE
..prior to the following device initialization:
kernel: e1000 0000:02:00.0 eth0: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Connection
system-udevd[117]: renamed network interface eth0 to emp2s0
Solution
It looks like netcfg is being started before the device it depends on has been initialized. Inform systemd of the
dependency so they start in the proper order:
# nano /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/[email protected]
# Add the following to [Unit]. Remember to replace enp2s0 with your device name.
Requires=sys-subsystem-net-devices-enp2s0.device
After=sys-subsystem-net-devices-enp2s0.device
Test again:
reboot
ping google.com
This should now be successful.fukawi2 wrote:

Suddenly I can't move files to trash, whe I try to drag them to it there is a cirle with a diagonal line across. HELP!
Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line on this page to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
{ sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select
▹ Restart
from the menu bar. -
Just upgraded my iPad to IOS5 and when the download was completed, a window said that there was an error and it could not restore. Now I have a black screen with the Apple logo and the circle lines. None of the buttons respond. Help, please!!
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. Maybe this will let the iPad reboot and then you may need to restore again but see if this helps to start the iPad first.

Problem in Execute query on non-database block and database block together
Hi All,
In my form,i have
1. First block is Non-database block with one non-database item.
2. Second and third blocks are database blocks.
Now the problem is that i want to perform execute-query for all the blocks.
If the cursor is on the non-database item of 1st block and i clicks on the "Enter-query" then i am getting message " This function can not be performed here".
If i click on the item of the database block and then clicks on the "Enter-query" and then "execute-query" it's working fine.
But i don't want to do in this way.
My cursor will be on the First block only and then it should perform execute-query.
I am using this non-database item to copy value of this item to the item of the database block item.
I think i make you understand about my problem.
I am using forms 10g on Window xp.
Please help me.Hi!
Simply create a enter-query trigger on the non-database-block:
begin
go_block ( 'database_block' );
enter_query;
end;If your search criteria is in the non-database-item in the first block,
you actually do not need the enter_query build-in.
Just create a execute-query trigger on the first block like:
begin
go_block ( 'database_block' );
execute_query;
go_item ( :System.trigger_item );
end;And in a pre-query trigger on the database-block copy the
value of your seach item into the item you want to search for.

Problem creating non-persistent Child Objects
I have the need to create a non persistable child object in the
jdoPreStore of a parent object. I then perform some tests on the parent
to determine if the child object needs to be persisted or not. If I leave
the child non persistent it still writes to the database.
I was performing the follwoing piece of code
Class Parent {
// The relationship is a 0 to many
public Child createChild() {
Child child = .....//create non persistent object
child.setParent(this);
getChild().add(child);
It appears that if I remove the getChild().add(child). It does not
persist (as desired).
Is this correct behaviour?? I dont think that it should be, but if it is
then I have a further problem.
If that child object inherits from another object and you remove the
getChild().add(child) kodo outputs an invalid object to the database. It
doesnt insert a row to the child table. But it inserts a row to the
childs inherited object table. This is now an invalid object and will
fail upon loading.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks
Luke.JDO has something called persistence by reachability. This means that
objects do not have to explicitly be marked as to be persistent as JDO
will traverse the object graph to ensure that all nodes are persistent.
I think you are seeing this behavior combined with another side
behavior: Kodo requires that both sides of a relation be set.
Basically, keep your objects in synch (set both sides of the relation).
And if you want to hold onto a reference to non-persistent object
before you decide what to do with it, add a transient field or a field
marked "persistence-modifier="none"" in your metadata and then process
those transient fields in jdoPreStore ().
i.e.
if (//businessLogic is true)
persistentField = transientField;

Non-Persistent VDI's stuck in Remediation Status pending in SCEP
Currently have 2 VDI's stuck in a remediation state - pending. The action required states Endpoint Protection Pending Reboot.
Since these are non-persistent devices the virus has been removed after a restart as they are back to a clean image however SCCM/SCEP does not seem to recognise the restart state.
How can I clear this so that the clients report back as re mediated? Note I have run a full scan and restarted the devices.
