Non-profit needing tax exemption on bill

Goodness Grows is a 501c3, not-for-profit charity organization. How do I request that the tax be removed from GG monthly bill?

Hi GoodnessGrows,
Please refer to the below mentioned link, as you will have to provide the tax-exempt proof and also check the eligibility:

  • Non-profit needs Dreamweaver design help

Small non-profit serving homeless veterans and veterans in crisis needs design help with Dreamweaver website.  The website was created as a school project by university students but there are some design issues that we are not able to correct.

It appears to be template driven so the basic layout is inside your site folder's Templates directory -- main.dwt.   This file drives the site wide elements such as navigation, common headers, footers and sidebars.
Child pages created from that main.dwt file contain editable regions for content that will change from page to page.  Only content in these editable regions are editable from child pages.
Whoever will be responsible for updating content should get familiar with CSS & HTML code.  This is required knowledge to work with Dreamweaver.
    Start here:
    HTML & CSS Tutorials - http://w3schools.com/
    Code validation tools
    http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
    http://validator.w3.org/
Also thoroughly read DW's Help docs (F1) under working with DW Templates.
It looks like the students did a pretty fair job of building the basic site for you.  Now it's up to your org to swap out the generic stuff with relevant content.   I don't advise you to alter the basic layout or structure.  It's all there.  You just need to get up to speed on how to work with it.

  • Billing issue: No one in the overseas call center understands state tax-exempt license numbers, but we need a refund of sales tax

I've just purchased a year's license to Creative Cloud on my unit's tax-exempt purchasing card, but the tax was assessed anyway. Several calls to the help desk revealed that no one has been trained in U.S. state sales-tax exempt organizations, and so I have no way of trying to get this charge backed out - which will result in a big accounting headache.
Is there anyone out there who may be able to help? Unfortunately there seems to be no way to escape being connected to the overseas call center, where managers aren't really able to provide any assistance either.

I will make a complaint to the better business bureau. I'm out $48 (because I gave it to my brother- we are both college students paying our way through school- except I'm in my 30's and also paying bills). It isn't a lot of money but its a spit in the eyes from Verizon. 15 year customer- so what- spit in the eyes. Sells Verizon phones at her job everyday when she's not working really hard in school- so what- spit in the eyes. I'm also forwarding all of this to our district Verizon rep- see what she says.

  • I am the founder of a non-profit organization, a donor had just given us her used iBook G4.  What do I need to do to wipe out her "stuff", change username and password, start all over new.  We will use this iBook in our learning center in Saigon, Vietnam

To good citizens of the MAC world,
I am the founder of a non-profit organization, we are caring for 6,200 orphans and street kids in Vietnam.  A donor had just donated her used iBook G4 for us to use in one of our several "learning centers" in Vietnam.  Folks sometimes donating PC but this is the first time we ever received a MAC.. :-)  I would like to know how to start this iBook all over new: change username and password.  I am looking so forward to bring it to Saigon in a few days and let our children experience MAC ... I am a 2 years MAC users and I have no intention to return to the Dark side.  Please help. I have the original OS disk.  Thank you so much.

There should be no need to zero the hard drive.
Using the Restore discs that came with the iBook when it was new, restore the system software using the appropriate instructions which you can find through a link contained in this Apple Knowledge Base article:

  • Tax exempt status for billing?

We're planning on purchasing a small team subscription, but my quoted price says $xxx/month PLUS TAX. We're a tax exempt college, how do I not get charged tax every month?

You'll have to call into Adobe support so they can setup your tax ID information. You may need to fax/email a copy of your Tax ID# certificate validating your exempt status. That's what I had to do for our school.

  • Which subscription is best for a non profit organization (with limited funds) who needs CC for 1 day a week for maybe 2 or 3 months?

    Hi sonnetje,
Kindly go through Creative Cloud pricing and membership plans | Adobe Creative Cloud
If you need it for 2-3 months please check of month-to-months plan as the Annual membership comes with a contact and there would be an early termination fee attached to it. which is 50% of the remaining months.
For more info check the below mentioned link.

  • Assistance needed with small program for non-profit

Energy Cycle is a small non-profit based in Virginia. We are using labview for a project that monitors 20 dc generators. Looking for someone who might be able to donate a modest amount of time and help us out.

I have 20 years of LabVIEW Experience and I have developed a LabVIEW based HTML5 WebSockets Server that works with simple JavaScript HTML5 WebSockets Clients on Mobile Devices like iPhone/iPod/iPad and Android Phone/Tablet devices.  I would be willing to help you out.
I keep a LabVIEW Demo WebSockets Server I have developed running on my desktop online and here is a link to a JavaScript iPhone Simulator I wrote that runs a WebSocket Client Demo I wrote that can be checked out: http://invbapp.com/iPhoneSimulator
Note: Run this in the Chrome Browser because it fully supports HTML5 WebSockets! Also, this demo is a single client version and if a new client connects while you are on, it will knock you off, I am working on a multi-client version.
I bring this up because this sort of technology could be integrated into products or systems to allow control and monitoring from devices like their iPhone.
    Best Regards,
    George Miles

  • How do I pay for a year of Creative Cloud without being charged taxes?  We are tax exempt.

We are a government entitiy.  My 30 day free trial is almost up - how do I pay without being charged taxes?

I have jumped through hoops and spoken with nearly countless customer service reps, I was even given a direct line to a representative. After weeks of wasted time and energy explaining the need to be tax exempt I was told that the Creative Cloud Service cannot be billed without tax even though my account is tax exempted. The only suggested solution from Adobe was that they could refund the tax paid at the end of the year. Very frustrating. I am curious how other goverernment agencies, higher education institutions and non-profits are addressing this.

  • Is a home furnishings/resale and staging business eligible for tax exempt status.

I own a store "Design on a Dime" I am in the business of reselling furniture and decor as well as basically leasing out items when I stage homes to put on the market as well as staging model homes for builders.  I have a resale certificate that allows me to be tax exempt at several places I shop here in SC for the business.   I had no idea you offered this and if I am in fact eligile I would love to apply because I just bought several items for the store this week.  If able, would I be able to get refunded for those items purchased last week and an item I need to purchase now.  I have to get a smart tv to display in a model that I can stream home info on to help sell the home.  These are items that I will basically be leasing over and over to my customers.  Tx hope you can help

    Hello Justshellin-
We appreciate your interest in making purchases with Best Buy and being able to save on the tax would certainly be helpful.
However, Best Buy doesn’t determine if you are eligible to make tax exempt purchases, you would need to consult with your local government to see who handles this for your area and would potentially provide your company with a Tax Exemption Certificate.
If you are able to qualify, you can find the process on how to apply for a Best Buy Tax-Exempt Quick Card here.
    I hope that this helps!

  • Linux non-profit.

I am curious what the status of a non-profit entity geared towards advancing Linux and other opensource *nix based operating systems would be.
    Would it get charity status?
Also, have any of the Arch community leaders applied for grants from the various existing Linux non-profit orgs, government agencies, etc? Arch seems to be a worthy enough endeavor to potentially garner grant monies.
    Ideas? Opinions?
I started thinking after running across http://www.li.org/
I don't even know if the non-profit li.org still exists. *shrug*

Charity status?  I like the idea.  In fact, I'm applying for my new "Linux Ministries" religion, so I can be exempt from US taxes.  Please make donations to the Reverend Skoal.  I'll use my money on beer and tobacco.  No false pretenses here.  If you're interested, I'll give you my Paypal account.
Cactus, I wonder how attainable donations will be for said organization.   Are the contributions open to all?  It looks like their primary thrust is to get corporate sponsorship.  If that's the case, where's IBM?  They shell out millions in legal protection against anti-SCO lawsuits.  But I guess you "can't look a gift horse in the mouth"...
I like the idea of grant money.  I just don't know how you would apply for that and who would be eligible.  I think a lot of developers listed on "sourceforge" or the like stand to benefit from it.  But for those that donate, what do they get in return?  Quicker OSS development I guess, which is nice.
    * I think the overall idea has promise, and this is the first I've heard of such a thing.  If a lot of corporations start to get on board, I think you'd see a new interest in contributions.  So, yes, I think it's sound concept.  Practical?  I don't think the government would ever grant such an organization "charity" status.  I think I stand a better chance as Rev. Skoal.
