Non purchased itunes music has suddenly disappeared

All of the music in my itunes on my pc has suddenly disappeared, with the exception of the (small) amount of music that I have downloaded from the itunes store. I am assuming that the files are still on my pc hard drive somehwere but that itunes for some reason is no longer locating them. Any suggestions anybody?! Thanks.

I am having the same problem, upgrade of computer from Dell 754 to Dell 900, XP to 7 so because I do not have an external harddrive, have synced my iPod touch to my new iTunes on new computer. Now my delimma is how do I get the 'purchased' iTunes list to my music library. This is 700+ songs not seen in my music library.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ITunes music has just disappeared

Okay, first off my main problem is that all of my library of iTunes has disappeared (1500+ songs).
I'm running version 7.6.1.9
I do believe this could be a user error, as while it was saving my music library I shutdown the computer.
I have tried to go about restoring the library from a previous date, but when I double click the file, it loads up iTunes, but nothing happens after that.
So any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.

The same has happened to me. I had opened it and it was empty. I dragged my music folder into the iTunes app, and everything goes in fine. However, under my podcasts, all of the previous files showed up, but when I clicked on 'subscribe', that particular podcast listing disappeared. (edit: this was fixed by importing an older .xml file, keep reading)
My .xml and .itl files are from October, and would like to include the increase in my library since then.
My main question now is, is there anyway I can get my playlists back?

The iTunes app has suddenly disappeared from my iPhone 5s on 7.0.2

The iTunes Store app has mysteriously vanished from my iPhone 5s running 7.0.2. It was literally there one minute and gone the next: I checked the phone, locked it, then had to check something else and when I unlocked the icon was missing.
So far I have tried:
A full system search - the app does not appear in the universal search list.
Tried getting Siri to launch it - Siri replies that it cannot find an app called iTunes.
Checked restrictions in the general settings - restrictions are off.
Done a full wipe and restore from a backup prior to the app going missing - iTunes app still not present.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Well, just to tie this one up I'll say that the problem resolved itself. About three weeks after posting this question the iTunes app mysteriously reappeared. I did not do anything to try and get it back and the phone had not updated any software for a while. I have no idea why it disappeared or why it reappeared but there we go; maybe it fancied a holiday?

Hello, I sure hope someone can help me. My itunes music has ALL disappeared....and when I tried to replace it {I guess it's known as import it from my CD} it seemed to remain forever on 0.02 and would not move on to the other song....I became frustrated....and ejected the CD....and got a pop up window telling me pretty much that this was a no-no....anyway...I clicked on my itune icon to open it up and start with another CD to import music....well now my icon won't open and everytime I click on it to open I get a pop up window from Apple...asking if it is ok to make changes....I click yes...and nothing happens....I also tried to see the compalibility and it is now telling me it is not combatiable......well it was yesterday and the day before...and even a few minutes ago...when I was able to open it once....What does this mean? I just had my computer cleaned out.....could it have been something they did? Do I have to uninstall it and reinstall it?? Also when I first opened itunes....I got a pop up window saying something to the effect...that I had 2 itunes and was only allowed 1....and did I wish to transfer my purchases....and I can't remember what else it said....I chose transfer....and those were the only songs I could find on my itunes before it wouldn't let me open it again.....Can someone help PLEASE.....newbie here

You can't activate any GSM iPhone without a valid sim card installed in the phone.
So, yes, you need to get a sim card.

Music has suddenly altered pitch

All my itunes music has suddenly turned high pitch and the sound of the songs has changed so it sounds stupid and i don't know why or how to turn it back to normal?! I scanned my computer and got rid of any threats that it could have been but i don't know what to do to get all my music back to normal. :S

I had the same issue this morning. Music and podcasts that had been on the iPhone last night are gone after a brief sync this morning. Checking the settings page shows 0 songs and 0 videos but only 1.9 gb of free space. I hope the reset fixes mine as well.

Ripping my hair out...my music has completely disappeared, except for my most recent purchase. Help!

From about a year ago up until I attempted to access it today, my Itunes music has been stored in the cloud and all of it was accessible in my Itunes on my W7 PC.
Today, my music has ALL disappeared except for my most recent purchase of about a month ago.
I've tried everything I can find, and NOTHING will make it reappear.

maybe it does have to do with other apps. i wish i would have paid attention to when this started occuring so i could narrow down which application might be the culprit.
the only thing that seems to be working right now is if i take my loop folders out of library/audio. i dragged some to my desktop (don't ask me why i did this) and imported them from there. for some reason they are staying in my loop browser. also when asked where i wanted to put the files, i selected them to go where the rest of the loops are at....in the proper directory. i'm thinking of trying this with all the loops and see what happens. something is corrupted and i'd like to know what and why. i admit, which i am embarrassed about, my computer is a mess. i really need to organise it and all that. actually, i am hoping hoping hoping to get a macbook just for my music. it would make life easier for me seeing i am quickly running out of room on all my hard drives.
the only loops i am having trouble locating are all the ones i made recently. which i am upset about. but i am sure they are here somewhere. i just need ot wade through the mess to find them.

Hours and Hours of renaming, adding cover photos and so on have been for nothing. Itunes cannot find the files since they're not in the library at all!

Did you use spotlight to search? (I'm assuming you have a Mac as given above despite this thread being in the Windows forum). How long have you used iTunes on this computer? Is there a backup to your library, perhaps an only copy of it on a machine you've "retired". Is the media present in the media folder? (Yes, you've answered that earlier.) If so then the media files should have absorbed all the tag changes that you made and reimporting the media into a new library might not be a complete disaster, though playlists, playcounts, ratings etc. would be irretrievably lost.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I reset my computer to orig manufacturers speifications and lost all my purchased Itune music before this year. I've been a member for ten years. Itunes does not have a record. Is there anything else I can do to get them back.

I had to reboot my desktop computer to original manufacturers specifications and all my purchased Itune music was deleted from my computer. I didn't back up my itunes because they advertise they keep a record of your purchased music. I contacted Itunes and they have stated they only have a record of purchases made this year. I've been a member for ten years. Any ideas on how to get back my purchased music? Also, I have an old Ipod Nano that I haven't used for quite some time because the battery didn't hold its charge, and it has some of my older purchased music. Itunes said I can't get the music on my old ipod downloaded back onto my computer, any ideas on this?

In terms of searching i have searched for photos on my finder. However, none of the photos that appear are from my iPhoto Library.

Search for any file with "ThumbJPGSegment" in the name. check the itunes folder location. preferences>advanced>general.

Can't use purchased iTunes music

I can't use some purchased iTunes music.
We moved and I have a new computer (iMac).
When we moved I had to drop my charter account - which I used as my itunes account. Now I use my gmail as my iTunes account but can't play 1 downloaded album (James Taylor Christmas).
It tells me this computer is not authorized to play but when i put my info in it tells me this computer is already authorized.
Can someone help?
