Non-purchased music won't go to my iPhone

This problem started two days ago, before that, I have never had this problem. I had a mix of purchased and non-purchased music on my iPhone 5c and two days ago, all of my non-purchased music got deleted. When I went to "On My Device" and clicked on the non-purchased songs, this came up.
I deleted all of the non-purchased songs, re-downloaded some of them, and tried to put them back on again. Midway through doing that, the same thing appeared next to all of the downloaded songs. I don't know what is causing this. I have only had my iPhone for a little over a month and this has never happened until now, all of my songs were playing perfectly fine. Is there any way that I can get my non-purchased songs to stay on my iPhone? When I try to put them back on, they stay on the iPhone for maybe 10 minutes and get deleted. The only music that remains is music that I have purchased from iTunes.

Someone please help!! Nothing is working. I even put the songs in my iTunes Media folder and tried to put them on my iPhone again but it still didn't work. Is there a solution to this problem?

  • Problems with non purchased music on my iPhone?

I'm manually managing music on my iphone, I have 10,000 songs on my itunes but only want 1,000 or so on my iPhone, when i choose songs to put on to my iPhone it appears on my device, but then won't play? This is happening for both non-purchased music and purchased music.
I have never bothered with iCloud before or set it up properly, but when I first upgraded to ios7 and tried to drag music over from my library, looking on my device there was certain songs on my library that I hadn't dragged over appearing on the device, with different artwork?
Is there any way to be able to put music on my iPhone the same way as before in ios7?

If it shows in the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on your phone then you should be able to redownload it from there - does that not work ?

  • How can i transfer non purchased music from my iPod classic to iTunes?

Recently, my laptop died and geek squad was unable to extract files from hard drive. How do I transfer non purchased music (burned cd's) from my ipod classic to itunes on my new laptop? Apple customer support suggested I engage support communities to find out about 3rd party software (not apple) that can accomplish this. Does anyone know of where I can find such software? Please and thank you

Back when I had to do something like that, I used Copytrans, http://www.copytrans.net/. You might see if they are what you want.
At worst, you could open the ipod classic in disk mode, locate the music files, copy them to your hard disk (they won't have good names), and just add them to your library. You'll probably lose play counts and *s with that approach, but it should work.

  • I want to tranfer non purchased music from my iphone 4s back onto my PC that I have re-formatted due to errors.

I want to tranfer non purchased music from my iphone 4s back onto my PC that I have re-formatted due to errors.
I have backed up the iphone onto my newly installed version of itunes.
All the purchased albums/songs have been tranferred.
I tried to tranfer by ticking the sync box but its says it will wipe the iphone and replace it with the new library which has only a fraction of my 1000+ songs.
I have read many reviews that say it can be done with a third party program but when I looked into this they offer free evaluation but want about £20 for the program but feel this can be done at no cost.
The itunes is saying my iphone can only be synced to one PC but the original one is wiped.
Am I right in thinking I should go ahead with syncing the iphone then do the restore. Im just worried that once its synced the music and photos/videos will be gone forever.
If I go down this route, I think I still need to know how to tranfer the non purchased songs from my iphone back onto the PC with the newly reinstalled itunes.

Then you will have to purchase 3rd party  software.

No. You will lose the music that's on the phone if you do that.
The iPhone is not a backup device. Restore the music to your computer using the backup you should have made of your data before you re-formatted it. If you didn't back up your computer, you will have to pay for software to try and extract it from the phone.

  • How do I transfer my non purchased music from PC to ipad mini

I'm trying to transfer all my music from my itunes on a PC with Windows XP to my new ipad mini. It will only sync the purchased music. How do I transfer the non purchased music too?

I use 3rd party apps in conjunction with File Sharing (tap to enlarge image)

  • How do I transfer non-purchased music (loaded from personal cd's) from my 4th generation ipod to my itunes library in my computer

How do I transfer purchased and non-purchased songs (loaded from personal cds) from my Ipod Nano (4th generation) to my Itunes library?

iTunes only allows you to transfer music purchased from iTunes because of copyright laws. You would need to search the internet for a 3rd party app that allows you to transfer the non-purchased music or get them from the original source, i.e. CD, other music site, etc.

  • How to I transfer non-purchased music from an old PC to my new macbook?

I have an old Dell laptop that is on its last leg and I have about a weeks worth of non-purchased music that I would like to keep. Most of this music is from CDs that I exported to iTunes on the Dell but no longer have the CDs. Is there a way to transfer this music to my new MacBook Pro? I don't really want to keep ALL of the music so it would be best if I can choose artists/albums to transfer.

If you don't want to keep all the music the best way is to simply drag the media you want to keep from the PC iTunes window to a flash drive and then add it to iTunes on the Mac.  Hopefully the music isn't stored in WMA format because iTunes on a Mac cannot read that at all, and hopefully it isn't stored as WAV because it will lose all its labels during the transfer using this particular method.
There could potentially be issues with losing artwork too depending upon how the file artwork was initially added.

  • I need to transfer non-purchased music itunes to iphone

In a nutshell. 2005 I bought a PC and copied my entire CD collection to itunes (1000+ songs). I boughjt an ipod in 2006 and copied all the music to the ipod. I've only ever purchased 1 album from itunes store. The PC died. Dead. Gone forever. I boughjt a macbook and soon realized that only the 1 purchased album could be transfered to the new macbook--odd because the PC was dead--yet the one album showed up on the macbook. Oh well, my ipod was fine to listen my collection via my Dennon receiver which has an ipod connector. Years go by. My brother upgrades to the new iphone4 and gives me his old iphone 3GS with 32G (I think).. While trying to figure out if I can transfer my ipod music to my new/used iphone (my brother went to ATT and they set up the iphone with me as the owner) I purchased the App ipod/iphone to Mac and finnally had all my music coped to the Macbook. Now I want to use my iphone to listen to my collection and it seems I can only transfer the 1 purchased album onto the itunes on the iphone. Please, is there an easy way to get all my non-purchased music onto my iphone? Can I tranfer the music via ipod to iphone without using the Macbook?
Thanks for any help, from anyone, from anywhere? It seems that ipod/iphone to Mac app does not go the other way: Mac to iphone (at least the support info doesn't say it can)

Open itunes, connect iphone, select what you want ot sync, sync.

  • Can we share non-purchased music?

I have painstakingly downloaded and categorized hundreds of our CD's in iTunes.  I have always used an iPod, iPhone, Mac, iPad, etc.  Now my husband has a brand new iPhone and he, too, would like to listen to our music.  However everything I see about "Family Sharing" is about sharing purchased music.  Can we share non-purchased music?

    Two Hound Train,
There are 5 ways to share music in a household.
    Regular iTunes Sharing
    Home Sharing
    Family Sharing
Give the person copies of the song files to add to their library
Put all song files on a shared server (NAS)
For non-purchased music, any of these will work except Family Sharing.

  • HT1351 some of my newly purchased music won't sync

Some of my newly purchased music won't sync, even though I converted it to the proper format.

Music purchased from the iTunes Store does not need to be converted before being used on iPods.  Music from most other sources, such as Amazon, is in MP3 format and does not need to be converted.  So, can you explain "even though I converted it to the proper format"?

  • How to transfer non purchased music back to iphone

    Hi
I recently had to to a system restore on my iphone 3gs as there was a 'bug' apparently during an earlier sync process. I back up to icloud to make things easier which it did.
One problem, all purchased music does get synced over except 93 songs which i assume are music purchased or transferred to my library using other sources. Is there a way for me to transfer all that music and complete my library the way i originally had it prior to restoring my iphone?
bdw, i check selected songs from my library which is about half of them to sync with my phone. So, only have of the checked ones (93 of them) are synced over.
Any help would be grateful, thanks in advance

All your music should still be in iTunes on your computer. Isn't that the case? Simply select it in iTunes for syncing to your iPhone.
If for soome reason the iTunes library is incomplete, you can redownload all your purchases again for free. Sign in to iTunes Store using tthe Apple ID you used to purchase the tracks; select Purchased from the Quick Links section in the right-hand sidebar; redownload.
The title of your post mentiones non-purchased music, but the text body does not. Is that an issue you also have?

  • Lost all my non purchased music

My old hard drive is no longer working so I have no back-up/ITunes.  In trying to get to my ipod_control folder I've lost all my non-purchased music.  Not sure how that happened.  The non-purchased music is not visible.  When looking at the IP Touch settings I see there there is only 58M out of 7G available which leads me to believe that the music is still on the IP Touch.  Where do I go from here?
    thanks in advance....

Several things: What do you mean by "trying to get to my ipod_control folder"? Are you talking about accessing the file system of the iPhone itself? FWIW, this is a very bad idea and can end up hosing your phone permanently.
There are several utilities out there that will allow you to (try) and extract the music from your phone. Google is your friend on this one. With the exception of purchased media, media sync is one way. Computer>iPhone. There is no sanctioned method of getting other media files off of the iPhone and onto a computer.
As far as another back-up scheme goes, the iPhone is NOT a backup device. You can't back up after the fact. Keeping a backup of the data on your computer, including your iTunes library, is the sane thing to do and basic common sense is to back up your data BEFORE you lose it, not afterward.

You need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

  • Copy Non-purchased Music to the PC

My iTouch has purchased music and non-purchased music on it.  When I sync to it, I can only copy the purchased music to my PC.  I want to copy the non-purchased music to the PC before I update the iTouch S/W and it will not allow me.  Is there some S/W that will allow me to copy this non-purchased music or is there something else that will not allow me to do this that I am  not aware of?

Okay, I see that there are multiple s/w packages.  Is there a "best" option amongst this bunch?  If it is free, is it worth the free or is it best to just buy something and be done with any issues that free brings with it?  I am not too experienced with this stuff, but I do want it to be easy to move back and forth between these S/W platforms.

  • HT1386 Some of my music won't play on my iPhone

Shortly after upgrading to the latest OS (7.0.2), I've noticed some of my music won't play on my iPhone.  I can see the songs but they have a red circle with a square inside it next to them and I can't do anything with them.  I have plenty of space and there's not "downloading from the iCloud" option.
Problem 2...some other people are having this problem and recommend wiping the music off my phone and re-syncing via iTunes but when I plug my phone in (or sync via wi-fi, either one) to sync, it hangs up on "waiting for changes to apply" and never wipes the music.  I've looked around at other complaints about this issue and none of the recommended "fixes" work.
I assume this is going to require an OS patch of some sort.  What's the ETA on this and is there a way to get around it now?

I have this problem too but all the songs that wont play arent downloaded from the itunes store theyre from another site
