    Hi
    I found exact note
Is OID 10g/11g DIP Compatible / Certified With Microsoft Active Directory 2008 / Windows 2008 R1/R2? [ID 944298.1]
    From note:
DIP 10g latest version (10.1.4.3) and DIP 11g up to PS4 / 11.1.1.5 Patchset releases integrations are certified with MS AD 2008 R1 only.
DIP 11g certification with AD 2008 R2 is supported only with DIP 11g PS5 / 11.1.1.6 Patchset or higher.
Note: Although DIP below 11.1.1.6 integration (synchronization, external authentication, etc.) with MS Windows / AD 2008 R2 may work, it is not officially compatible / certified. See also Note 1076018.1.

  • Oracle EBS R12 - DR setup using Oracle Data Guard

    Hi,
Our customer has implemented Oracle EBS R12 (12.0.6) on a Two Node RAC on HP-UX env. The application Tier also has Two Nodes(Admin Tier and Web Tier).
Oracle Clusterware - OCR and Vote Disk are on Raw Devices and the EBS database is on ASM.
Customer wants to implement a DR solution with Oracle Data Guard with only 2 servers - 1 for the Database Tier and 1 for the Application Tier on the DR Site.
I would like to know if this could be done by following note: 452056.1? I would also like to know if there are other useful docs.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Customer escalated this issue to Oracle and they came up with this reply:
They can implement Disaster recovery solution from RAC to NON RAC using Solution A which use RMAN utilities for backup and recovery.
While now AMP Application Management Pack gives the capablitiy to build non RAC from RAC Envioment, In future AMP will be capable also to support cloning of DB with Data Guard.
    Details
    Solution A - Using RMAN:
For Release 12 customers, you can clone from a RAC to RAC (like to like) or RAC to non-RAC. This is using RMAN scripts to take a copy of the db when it’s in archive mode. if you’re leveraging any disaster recovery tools like data guard, the above solution should work fine…perhaps some fine tuning to the procedures
Solution B - Using AMP in the future release
For Release 11i , Release 12.x customers, AMP would be offering a new cloning solution that wouldn’t have dependency on Rapid Clone. This solution leverages the strengths of EM Grid Control in provisioning or cloning targets such as databases. This would be an advance solution that would support:
    o A full-fledged scale down cloning
o Cloning of EBS deployed on Shared File System
o Hot and Cold mode cloning
o Quantifiable reduction in clone time for the entire EBS system
This solution would be leveraging EM grid Control’s DB provisioning pack’s clone utilities, that are quite advanced and support cloning of DB with Data Guard.
The recommendation is to start trialing AMP version 3.0, making the purchase and implementing within the Enterprise. As we release the new version of AMP (release 3.0.1), Customer would be in a better position to quickly implement the latest features
Can anyone let me know if the solution A suggested will work.

  • Oracle EBS R12 Advice

    Hey Community,
I have 2 years of experience as an Apps DBA. I recently took a new job working under a consultant as jr. apps dba. Well the consultant was fired and well now I'm the only dba. So far things are great and I'm really enjoying this challenge. I have been studying my behind off daily to catch up on a lot of stuff that is new to me. I had a few questions I would like to ask and get advice from experts here.
One of my questions are what are some daily tasks I need to do as an apps dba? This is a fairly new shop and right now, there isn't any procedures on doing much. I am creating procedures now. Right now I just check to make sure the applications are up, if they are down, I go from there. We have a core dba so I don't have to do much on the database side. I need info for the application side.
Also, I don't know RAC but will have to learn it. I do have my own home environment. I know how to install Oracle EBS finally. At the moment, I am upgrading my database to 11.2.0.3 and after that I will upgrade my applications to 12.1.3 and then the latest version. After I complete these tasks, I am going to take time to learn as much as I can about RAC, then I will do my own implementation of RAC. I will then need to install Oracle EBS on RAC (Not sure how to do that yet) I also need to learn to clone on RAC, Patch on RAC and how to maintain EBS on RAC. If you all could give me any documentation, videos, or anything else I can study it would be greatly appreciated.
Also do you all have any advice for me that will help me rise to the challenge. I know its a huge one but its one I believe I can do as long as I put in much hard work and dedication. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Number of Tables in Oracle DW for Oracle EBS R12

    Hi All,
What are the number table created when we select Oracle EBS R12 as container? In our scenario there were 360 tables that were created. But Issue with DWH DB tables creation it shows that 779 are created?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Dev

Hi, my 7.9.5.1 datawarehouse has *787* tables (and 730 indexes).
BTW Is the data warehouse is source independent? I thought it has the same number of tables whether you plan to load from none or any of EBS 11 / EBS 12 / Peoplesoft / Siebel or SAP or some other system. I can load from EBS11.5.10.2, then if I choose, i can truncate everything in the data warehouse, then load fom EBS R12. I dont need to recreate the warehouse in order to do this - the structure of the data ware house stays the same. Right?
If you look at the DAC log file from the data warehouse creation operation you will see that the command issued was
    C:\app\oracle\product\1013\dac_1\DAC\log\config\createwtables.log:
    C:\app\oracle\product\1013\dac_1\DWREP\BIN\DDLIMP /I N /s N /u BAW /p ******* /c BAW /G "SSE_ROLE" /f C:\app\oracle\product\1013\dac_1\DAC/conf/sqlgen/ctl-file/oracle_bi_dw.ctl /b BAWDATA /K BAWDATA /X BAWINDEX /W N
There is only one version of the ctl file. It is the same whether you are in the 11 or 12 container?

  • Unable to open XML report in Oracle EBS r12

    Hi,
I have new installation of Oracle EBS r12 (12.1.1) on linux.
To test the XML report, I changed the output of standard report 'Active Users' from 'Text' to 'XML' and defined the data definition and template for this report.
I am unable to see the output for XML reports. The report completes without error, however I cannot open the output file.
The browser opens for fraction of a second and then closes down. My client machine is Windows 7 and I used Microsoft words 2010 to build template
I used the 5.7.201 version of BI publisher to create the rtf template.
Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks

I changed the output of standard report 'Active Users' from 'Text' to 'XML' and defined the data definition and template for this report.
looks like xml publisher report, so output for concurrent must be 'XML'
******* I have changed the output of concurrent program 'Active Users' from 'Text' to 'XML'
I am unable to see the output for XML reports.
    how you see it?
******* I tried to open the report by clicking on 'Output' button from view request screen of EBS.
did you try after concurrent completed check 'diagnostic -> view xml'?
******* I haven't tried this. Will do now.
The report completes without error, however I cannot open the output file
    what is error?
******* There is no error, the request completed successfully. When I tried to open the output file by clicking 'output' button, the browser doesn't open.
    did you check OPP log?
******* There is nothing in the OPP log.
if concurrent failed so first of all check your code - data template and package (if used)
******* I used the standard EBS report 'Active Users' and just changed the output from 'Text' to 'XML' and attached the rtf template.

    1. in physical connections part can i use the same work schema
    2. Can i use same contexts created or do i need to create everything as new and then try?
    Thanks,
    Rp.
    Hi,
As you mentioned that you just upgraded the database, so the data is same and schema is same you can connect with the same work schema.
Yes, you can use the same contexts , but need to do Reverse Engineering for your new database.
And about data server, i think you also have no need to create new data server, if hostname, sid and port etc are same as these were with R11(consult with your DBAs regarding it)

  • Capture XML data payload into database table (Oracle EBS R12)

    Hi All,
We have a XML Publisher report which generates output in PDF format. We want to capture the XML data payload generated by this report and put it into a DB table once the PDF is generated.
This report is generated through Oracle EBS R12 and XML Payload is stored by oracle by default in $APPLCSF/out directory.
    Any pointers would be helpful
    br

Couple of options, this one is probably the easiest without knowing other requirements (e.g., do you have to store the output as XML, or do you just the data available so you can output in XML later?).
Capture the SQL statement that generates the output in the first place. If you have that statement, you can insert into some table using the select statement. Once you have the report data (and you can tag that particular set of data with a job ID, timestamp, whatever, in case you need to store it and distinguish it from other reports down the road), you can generate XML output using the PL/SQL built-in DBMS_XMLGEN.
Is that what you are looking for?

  • Oracle ILM assistant for Oracle EBS R12.1 application with 11.1.0.7 DB

Oracle ILM through its ILM Agent, which is a database component provides option for data archiving.
Need to know how ILM agent can be used against Oracle EBS R12 and the options available:
    a. Does ILM assistant map to industry Compliance requirements and can we add or modify based on additional Client requirements
    b. Is this configured for all components and are the business rules (default) taken care in terms of archiving related data, if not what are the options available
    c. What are the options to archive data
    i. On Same and archive database
ii. Other RDBMS (mysql, or open source database)
    d. Access to archived data
    i. Is archive data available from the existing application or only from backend database
ii. Does ILM assistant provide options to access archived data (same Oracle RDBMS or heterogeneous database)
    e. Retention options
    i. Does ILM assistant provide multi tier retention options for archived data for different range (# of years)

Any update on my query please...?

Limits the Preferred Read-Write Tablespace to only 1 where as in Oracle EBS we would require multiple tablespaces to be Preferred Read Write. Can we extend the functionality of ILM assistant to have multiple Read-Write tablespaces...?

  • Oracle EBS R12 installation problem in Windows 2003

    Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle EBS R12 on Windows 2003 R2. I have installed cygwin along with required packages and also Visual studio 2005 as specified in the prerequisites of installation document.
All the validations are successful before installation but I am facing error during installation in Step3 at about 53 percent. When i checked the log file, I found that some of the files required for installation are not found in my staging area. Now I want to run MD5sum on the Staged Files.
I had downloaded md5sum_windows.txt and also run this command :
    md5sum --check md5sum_Windows.txt > md5sum_result.txt
In md5sum_result.txt, I am getting error for all files. Error message is as :
    oraAppDB\Disk1\data\driver\Disk1.drv
    : FAILED open or read
This is repeating for all files. But i can see that the files are present in My Staging area. Do i need to set some permission for this. Please help. Desperately want to install EBS as part of perparation for my planned certification.

I have downloaded all the 33 files in oracle edelivery site. I have seen a post of yours regarding Oracle R12 installation on Windows XP. It mentions only some 25 files. Please do not rely on the that thread as it was for 12.0.x installation.
For R12 (12.1.1) you need to download the following files:
From: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 Rapid Install Start Here (Part 1 of 4)
To: Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 for Microsoft Windows (32-bit) Rapid Install APPL_TOP - Disk 2 (Part 2 of 2)
Is it possible that contents of the zip file are lost during download because my stage area is about 39 GB . and also I have verfied all the files in edelivery site is downloaded too.
Also the error i mentioned in my last post, I can see the file in the directory but still its showing read error. Is it due to corruption of data. That would mean that I will have to download all 40 GB again :-(It is easy to verify the contents of the stage area directory without running md5sum, so please do so and post the results here.
    Thanks,

  • How to upload data into form of Oracle EBS R12 using ATS ver 9.0

    Hi experts,
Could you please guide me how to upload data into form on Oracle EBS R12 using Oracle Application Testing Suite verson 9.(The simpliest way)
For example: I need to create user account on Oracle EBS. Normally, I use Dataloader to upload the data, however it just can upload one by one record, cannot upload multi record at same time. Moreover if the performance of server is low, so I will get the issue when using dataloader.
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards

Hi you can create Virtual users to enter data. Note than you have to name the objects accordingly.
For Example default recording provided by Open script is ObjectNAME_(Index No of the object).
when you record one iteration the name of any object would be ObjectNAME_(0)
You can then create virtual users so the index will increment as the total number of Virtual users increases. Also you have to handle which row of your test data would get mapped to which Virtual user in the script run session.
    Thanks
