Non-radio Remote HELP!!

I have the 5th gen 30gig Ipod. I recently bought the inMotion speaker/docking staion and also the Apple remote(non radio. At the time of purchase the guy at future shop said this remote would be compatible. In the remote instruction it said refer to the instructions for the iPod for a how to use. I cannot find this anywhere! Does anyone know how to make this work?!?!

If you are talking about this remote pictured here,
then it is only compatible with either some Mac computers, and the iPod when used in conjuction with Apple's iPod universal dock.
You have been mislead.

  • Can I use non-apple earphones with radio remote?

I have a new Ipod 3g and want to buy the radio remote. Must I use the earbuds supplied with the radio remote or can I use non-apple earbuds and earphones? Will I still get good radio reception with a non-apple earphone?

Yes you can. I use Sennheiser PX100's and they work just fine.
Plug the headphones into the remote rather than the iPod to get the best reception.

  • How do i get my ipod radio/remote replaced?

I bought my ipod radio/remote back in October and its suddenly stopped working. It is detected by the ipod (classic) as it brings up the radio option on the menu and also the volume up and down controls still work. However none of the other controls work at all.
Ive plugged it into my old ipod (video) that my girlfriend uses and it has exactly the same problem.
According to my receipt from the apple store its guaranteed until October 08 so do i need to take it back to the store or can i just get another one directly to me by apple?

You can either take it back to the Apple Store (make a Genius Bar appointment on your computer the day you decide to go: it is a little busy at all of them right now) or go here: http://www.apple.com/support/oss/

  • Radio remote hold button

Hi. I have the 2nd gen 4GB nano and the radio remote and my problem is that after leaving the nano alone for a day, I try to turn on the nano through the remote and it will not work. I have to turn on the nano first before I can use the remote.
But this does not happen with the 1st gen nano or the mini. The remote works fine with these two.
    Can someone help?

I have the same thing, but it's never bothered me.
I don't find having to turn on the nano from the iPod itself instead of the remote that big a deal.

  • Radio remote install

    Hello!
I hope someone can help me. I've buy the radio remote, but where can I find the software? (radio remote v1.1) do I have to buy this? Or can I find it on the apple-site somewhere? I can listen to the radio on Itunes, but not yet on my Ipod.
    Please help me!
    Thanks!
    Belinda

    v1.1 is the ipod firmare...
just update your ipod with latest firmware and you will be able to use the radio remote...
ps many people are having trouble with v1.2 firmware... try finding v1.12 firmware (i think it is 1.12)

  • READ BEFORE RETURNING RADIO REMOTE

Howdy, i came across an issue which i have a simple answer for(see below),
i was looking through the reviews on the apple store website, and noticed that alot of people return the radio remote because they were dissapointed that "it only got 4 stations, and they were all fuzzy", one thing, read the manual on how to run the thing, it is included in the box that it comes in, please read it.
And if you dont want to read it there listen to me. What i am thinking you are doing that you only get 4 stations, is that you are only hitting the forward and reverse (<<|>>) only, which goes through the factory presets which give you a few stations, which are usually unused, to select stations hit the middle select button on the ipod(this knowledge is conveniently located in the manual)
and use the click wheel to select your station.
Please think and read the manual before you decide to return it, check out the problem throughly.
If you have this problem, please listen to what i have wrote, it will help.
    Derek.

Yes, you can us eyour own. The ones that come with the remote simply have a shorter cord than the stock headphones, otherwise they are identical.
Also, the Radio remote works only with the Nano and the 5G.

  • Where to buy an Ipod radio remote??

    Ipod 5G

    hi matt!
would on-line purchasing work for you? go to:
    http://www.apple.com
click on the "Store" tab and scroll down to the "Accessories for the new ipod" image. click on that, and one of the products there is the radio remote.
down at the bottom of the page, there's info about buying by phone, too.

  • Radio remote: European RDS problem

Several european users report difficulties in displaying RDS information while using their Radio Remote when set on "Region: Europe".
Changing the setting to "USA" solves the problem. Unfortunately changing the setting doesn't allow to properly tune some stations (0,2 Mhz step for USA, 0,1 Mhz step for Europe).
    I found out on:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303038
that the RDS when set on "USA" displays program service name (PS), when set on "Europe" displays radio text (RT).
To resolve this problem Apple engineers simply have to have RDS in "Europe" mode to display PS instead of RT.
Unfortunately I seem to be unable to find a way to let Apple know; I've been browsing the support site for 10 minutes now but I seem to be unable to find an e-mail address to send this "suggestion".
Can someone help me to get this message through to Apple support.
    Thanks for your kind help.

You might try feeding back via iTunes from the iTunes menu select "Provide iTunes Feedback". A tenuous link perhaps but hopefully they'll pass on the message.

  • Is the Touch compatible with the old radio/remote control?

I was wondering if anyone knew if the new Touch was compatible with the clip-on FM radio/remote control
    http://www.superwarehouse.com/AppleiPod_Radio_Remote/MA070GA/p/729855
(it plugs into the dock connector) I would like to be able to control my iPod without taking it out of my pocket. Thanks in advance!

    boooooo...!
well, i'm a little disappointed. at least they added the Home Button doubletap feature. I guess I'll just memorize the button layout i've been using a touch-sensitive 3G iPod for 3 years+, so i'm not a stranger to that kind of thing
and wait for a third-party solution
    thanks for your help

  • IPod Nano with 1.1.1 software update and iPod Radio Remote

I currently have iPod Nano with 1.1.1 software update and iPod Radio Remote, but even after the update I do't get the radio option to appear in the main menu or music menu, with the option in settings turn ON. Why isn't this thing working?

    hiya!
just doublechecking something. are you connecting the remote directly to the nano, or are you connecting it to a Dock and putting the ipod in the dock?

  • Problems in compatibility of iPod radio remote with iPod classic 160 GB

    Hi all,
I have just bought a iPod classic 160 GB and want to buy a iPod radio remote as well. However, after I have done my research, I find the radio remote is not compatible with iPod classic perfectly…
Do you think it is a good idea for me to wait a new radio remote (maybe) or later Apple will release update?
    Thanks

I use my Radio Remote with a Classic; it does everything that it had with my 5G-Video EXCEPT it will not allow me to set radio stations, either with the Radio Remote's control or the iPod's control.
I have spoken with an iPod specialist (Apple Care) and according to him Apple has acknowleged less than 100% compatibility/functionality with the Radio Remote and the Classics. One of the reasons, he stated, was that several 5G-Video iPods were "getting fried" when the Remote was not fully connected to the docking-port. So Apple has decided to reengineer the port [for better a connection, I gather]. What puzzles me the most about the new generation of iPods is why they were rolled out without warning customers that their Car-Charger, Video Player, dock, AV Cable, or APPLE'S OWN Remote will not play nice with each other!
This go around, it's find out the hard way.

  • Non cumulative remote cube in Multiprovider

    Hi all,
I have a situation. We created a multiprovider containing 1 infocube and 1 remote cube. The remote cube contains non cumulative key figure. When we create a query on the multiprovider and check the query, the system gives us a system error message saying "System error in program CL_RSR and form GET_CHANMID-01-". I have tried to find an OSS note, but could find any related notes.
The problem doesn't occur if the query built on the remote cube or on the multiprovider but without the remote cube. So I think the problem lies on using non cumulative remote cube in a multiprovider.
Has anyone encounter such a situation? Appreciate any opinion or comments.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Anzar

    Anyone?
I really need your advice on this issue.
