Non Recognition of my Ipod

Recently I decided to download the i pod update, the update froze and i closed it with ctr,alt,del. Ever since then, my ipod hasnt been commming up on itunes. Everytime i disconnect my ipod, it resets, on my cpu screen a message pops up saying i recieve a message saying:(its not word for word)
" there was an error trying to write the disk, file data lost, try and save the file elsewhere"
I would appreciate it if someone can shed some light on my situation, before i end up breaking my ipod.

You didn't mention if it was updater 2006-03-23, and if your Ipod is a Nano.

My settings say I have a photo import on a...non-color 20 gb ipod??

When I go to the main screen, then click settings, then click Main Menu a bunch of options come up. But that is not the part I'm having trouble with. I have a non-color 20 gb ipod, but when i go there it has an option of showing photo imports and voice memos? HELP!!! I am confused, can it store pix or not?

The iPod w/o a color screen can store pictures but it cannot show pictures. The iPod acts like a hard drive - it can store any type of file. Those options are for accessories like the Belkin iPod Microphone Adapter or the (late) Belkin Camera Adaptor.

TS3212 something is wrong with my itunes, none of my 4 ipod devices show up when i try to connect them to itunes. but they do light up and show that they are charging, and two have lost sound...

ok, so two of my devices have lost sound the first was about 2 years ago, but i kept the device because i could still use it for other things, then i got a " new to me" ipod about 6 months ago, and it too has, within the last two days, lost sound, and while trouble shooting these issues i have been trying to restart/refresh/whatever one of them and now none of the 4 devices that i have is shouing up on my itunes!!! this is verry upsetting since the others didnt have any problems, and i really dont want to pay $ for a fix. do not have the money for that, nor do i expect this kind of thing to happen to me more thann once.
i have gone through all the diagnostic tests with my computer and each ipod multiple times, even trying to reverse the order in which i perform the steps, as a last resort, making no progress. i have downloaded new versions of itunes 5 times within the last 3 hours and restarted my computer 7 times. my devices do not show up in "my computer" but they do display as charging when i plug them into the usb port, and to wrap up i have tried using all 3 usb ports on my computer to do this.
please do not post that i should restart my computer or that i need to restart my device! please do not tell me to go to an apple store or buy a new device! but all other help/ ideas will be greatly appriciated.

So, I was playing music on my new iHome. I paused it so I could change the song, when it became totally non responsive.
I put in its USB cable, and iTunes didn't even register that it was plugged in. I tried the 5 Rs, and it didnt do anything.
The hold wont work, it wont restart, it's completely frozen.
I really don't want to go down to the Apple store... Can anyone help?

It may take several attempts. That article also has tips if your iPod won't reset.
If you can't get it to reset after several attempts, then you may need to just disconnect the iPod and wait for the battery to drain.

Itunes non importa canzoni nell'ipod

Da quando ho aggiornato itunes all'ultima versione non mi copia più le canzoni sull'ipod. Ma non tutte solo alcune in particolare. In più, ho notato che se una canzone che da sola non viene aggiunta se la metti in coda di inserimento insieme ad altre che aggiunge, alla fine viene inserita. Alquanto strano! Qualcuno sa spiegarmi il perchè?

Non-purchased music from iPod to transfer to iMac

Is there any software that's recommended to transfer non-purchased items from your iPod to your iMac?

The files are hidden. Did you read the link I posted above? It contains instructions for both Mac and Windows to unhide the files.\

It has nothing to do with it, your iPod is either enabled for disk use, set to manual update or both. Setting an iPod to manual update enables disk use by default. When using an iPod in enabled for disk use the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod

Non Current podcasts onto ipod

I was wondering if there is any way to get non current podcasts downloaded onto the ipod so I can listen to these?

By the way, these are podcasts that I am trying to get through the iTunes store.

I've followed all the steps to uploading photos, none are displayed on ipod

I went through the process of selecting my photos many times over again. Looked at the steps as outlined in the tutorial.
Also tried resetting my ipod.
No pictures show up when i go under photos, just blank white squares.
Also no album art is displayed even though i have some.
This is annoying and I have not found any help.
Any suggestions other than referring me to the tutorial and resetting my ipod would be very much appreciated.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

How do I get to settings with a non-functioning home button - iPod touch5

My daughter dropped her iPod touch (gen. 5) and now the home button is not responsive. It will not 'click'. It is not stuck, it seems to have lost a piece under the home button and now is very loose and constantly down. I am trying to use the 'home button app/screen setting' but I can't get to the settings screen because her iPod is in an app that I can't shut down. There is no way to go 'home' or to 'settings' with out the home button.

Without the Home button being functional enough to access Settings and to turn on the Accessibility function which could provide an on-screen Home button, there is not much you can do.
Take it in to get it repaired.

Search for non-internet Apps for iPod Touch?

I have an iPod Touch, so I don't always have an internet connection when I am away from my house. I would like to specifically search for apps that don't require an internet connection to run. For example, many of the translation tools rely on Google to translate--I would like a translation app with a built-in dictionary that I can use without having internet access.
Is there a way to specify a search for only self-contained apps (don't rely on internet) when searching iTunes? Or do I need to open the description for each app to see if it relies on an internet connection?

No one answered you, but this is exactly what I am looking for too.
What I have found is that, without an internet connection, the iphone and touch products are little more than a pretty music player. I think they call it 'cloud computing'; focusing data storage and function on remote systems and just using the touch and iphone for access. That appears to be the way their development is going. It works fine when you are always near wifi, but where I work has no wifi and no cell coverage. I've found that for most work tasks, translation, secure documents, gathering data, GPS etc, the PDA or smart phone is a better fit. Those store data and applications locally on the unit itself rather than on the internet somewhere that you won't always be able to access.
With all the storage space on the touch and iphones, you'd think they could give a little of it over to onboard apps and functions, but until they do, at least there is the PDA.

Non-computer storage for iPod

I have been looking for a solution to this problem with little success and hope that someone here might have heard of something like it.
I would like to store my CD collection digitally and use an iPod to listen to the music, but without the use of a computer. Ideally, it would be great to be able to insert a CD into something like a CD player, it would rip/record the CD to its storage device and allow me to access it on my iPod when I wanted to.
Does anything like this exist? I have spent some time searching for a device and the only thing that I have found that appears to be anything like it is the Philips Wireless Media Centre (http://tinyurl.com/o2p2p) which does not have the functionality I'm looking for.
If you have (or haven't!) heard of a device like this, I would really appreciate your help in solving this problem. Thanks.

By "access it on my iPod" I meant that I would be able to connect an iPod to the storage device. Then, I would select which music to transfer to the iPod from the total stored selection on the (hypothetical) storage device.
Really what I am trying to avoid here is having a computer in order to listen to music on an iPod - mainly because I don't like computers.
