Non-removable shortcuts in Symbian^3

Hello Nokia community!
I was looking for information how to remove shortcuts like "Orkut" and "Nat Geo" in Belle, it turned out that it is impossible. I can't understand why??
It is simple example: i like Nokia phones, but i don't like Google services and i don't like Orkut icon and service at all. Why i can't delete this? And I'm not the only one who wishes to remove. I hope this possibility has would be in the next Future Pack.

The 720 battery is not user replaceable but it can easily be replaced by any Nokia Care Point. If you want a Lumia with user replaceable battery, you should consider the 820.

Non removable watermark

Dear all,
Does anyone know how to place a non-removable watermark in a pdf (for me, non-removable means that even a guy using Acrobat Pro will not be able to remove the watermark).
I need to distribute several pdfs to several guys and be sure that they will not be able to remove the watermark – or similar). I don’t want to use password protected pdf’s.
Does anyone have other solutions for this kind of problem?

How to remove shortcuts Launchpad

Hi guys,
I have just installed Lion and I googled a lot about Launchpad but somehow the solutions they have given me doenst seem to work.
When I open launchpad I see a lot of icons that are in my Applications folder.
But for a lot of those icons I dont want them to be in Launchpad and want to remove only the Shortcut in Launchpad.
Some people are saying I need to hold CTRL OPTION CMD but the icons starts jiggeling but I can not remove one single shortcut.
So I really hope someone can help me.

I also am having this problem - I am not able to rename folders in Launchpad, nor am I able to remove shortcuts I do not want. I don't want to delete the program itself, just the Launchpad icon. The option key will make the applications and folders jiggle but I do not get the 'x' in the upper left corner. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Non removable battery lumia 720

Hey guys
Im from india and new to this forum and looking to buy a lumia 720. The phone is wonderful to look at, has decent specs as per my requirements. The only thing stopping me from buying the phone is the fact that it has a non removable battery. Im getting this phone for a long term use, 3 years atleast. I am worried as to whether the battery will drain soon, if the battery can be changed when it drains out, how tedious the procedure will be and if itll burn a hole in my wallet. I want a phone with decent battery back up and the 2000mAh seems up to that task. Could you also tell me what the average battery backup of the 720 is

How do I remove shortcuts from my home screen? I added a few by mistake How do I get them off my home screen? I don't want to uninstall them, I just want the shortcutt off my home scree/page.

La solución para los usuarios de Windows.. busca todas las canciones *.m4a que se han modificado en tu compu durante el día del incidente.. toma nota de los nombres de las canciones.
En itunes busca estas canciones y deselecciona las canciones.. (con suerte veras que las canciones están seleccionadas dos veces.. deselecciona todas las canciones que fueron modificadas en ese día. Flicker removal - Shortcut key or script

Hello! - Is there anyway to make a 'flicker removal' shortcut key? I am not opposed to editing the *.kys file if need be. I would really like a script to do this but from what I see it is not possible at the moment but I am hoping I am wrong. Any help is appreciated.

First of all, I want to say that my camera seems to hold the exposure in manual mode pretty well. Perhaps if you held your mirror up out of the way? (I use a mirrorless.)
I don't know why the exposure setting would change.
However, you could try picking a spot on one image in Photoshop and get the exact RGB setting for that spot. Then in Camera RAW you should be able to adjust the exposure to get the same exact RGB setting for that exact spot in each image. A little time consuming perhaps, but I would think that most of the images would already be the same. Or, if not, they might be off the same amount for quite a few frames in a row? If that was the case, you could sync a lot of them together so that what you did to one applied to them all.
Of course that falls apart as the sun changes position across the sky. Or if a cloud goes by.
Think of it like rotoscoping. A necessary evil?

Non functional shortcut in keynote 3 - problem to loop with QT slides

I'm using the shortcuts of Keynote a lot, and I'm embarrassed by the following strange behaviours :
1) in a slide that contains built-ins effects, none of the forseen shortcuts (P, Delete, Page Up, Left Arrow, Up Arrow, or Shift-Up Arrow) does really go back
to previous slide, all those shortcuts go back through each of the builds before to go back to previous slide. It is quite embarassing, when you want to go straight to the point. is there another shortcut to reall go back to previous slide, without stop ? thanks.
2) when I put a quicktime movie in the last slide of a slideshow that I force to loop, it takes ages for the slide show to go from last page to first page (I.e., to loop) : the quickitime movie seems frozen for 10-20 seconds, then the slideshow restarts, and every goes well... until the last slide, that freezes, and so on...

Removing Shortcut Icons from Finder Window

In the left side of the Finder Window, there are little shortcut icons like "Music" and "Applications" and the like. I dragged a folder into this window for easy access. I no longer have the folder on my Mac, but the shortcut icon is still there.
How do I make it go away? Every time I right- or left-click on it, I simply get a message saying the folder is no longer available.

Select the item and drag it out of the sidebar. It will "poof" away.

UDF on a "non-removable" disk

I apologize in advance if I've posted to the wrong forum, or have missed something obvious.
I am trying to mount a UDF hard drive created in Linux on a Solaris 10 SPARC workstation (and will also need to do so on a Solaris 8 SPARC workstation). According to the Sun documentation (http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/816-0222/6m6nmlt3m?a=view), I should be able to do this. However, when I try to issue the following command, I get the following errors:
mount -F udfs -o ro /dev/dsk/c0t8d0s2
mount: I/O error
mount: cannot mount /dev/dsk/c0t8d0s2
As far as background information is concerned, I'm using an IDE disk with a SCSI adapter on it. The hardware is not a problem, because I can put a Sun label on the disk, along with a UFS filesystem and everything is happy. If I try to create a UDFS filesystem on the disk, with or without a Sun label, the operation fails.
I think the problem is coming from the fact that the hard drive is not seen as a "removable" drive by Solaris, and so it never allows the use of the UDFS driver. I was going to try the old PPSD driver (http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/ppsd.html) to fake it into thinking it was removable, but I can't find the source for it, nor have I received a response from the author yet.
Is there a way to set this up so I can mount the UDF disk? It has to be this way because my datasets are too large for DVD.

I had done the following and now it is resolved:
1. srvctl config database -d <dbname> -a
2. From the dependencies I found that this diskgroup is listed.
3. Took the list of diskgroup (from dependencies), removed this diskgroup entry and ran the following command:
srvctl modify database -d <dbname> -a "data_dg1, data_dg2, data_dg3"
4. started the instance and it worked

Children at my Mac – non-removable dock icons

The main reason I created a separate user account for my four-year old son was to allow him making a mess without annoying anybody. Which turned out to be a very wise decision. Even when he was a small baby he had the special gift of activating some obscure Mac OS X function I never knew existed – and of course I always had a hard time finding out how to deactivate it afterwards.
So there he goes with his own account, happily dragging files around in Finder and making a mess of his very own desktop. Now, a while ago he proudly showed me what he did to his dock. I have to admit it was an amazing sight. He had dragged about two dozen files, most of them Objective-C header files, to the dock, squishing up all the programs in the far left corner. Well done, or so I said, until a week later I tried to clean up for him.
I don't know what sort of sticky glue he must have used, but now I cannot pull those header files off again, I can't even rearrange them. Same for the program icons. When I bring up the context menu, it doesn't show the 'remove from dock' option. It looks like the dock is locked or something.
So again, my son's discovered some feature I didn't even know existed. Can anybody tell me how to unlock the dock again?

OK, so here's what it looks like:
The icon's do not even pull off. I can activate the context menu by holding the touchpad button, but if I try to drag an icon off, the icon simply unhighlights and nothing happens.
@Niel: I tried the defaults write, but didn't help. I find the idea of my son hacking a 'defaults write' command into the Terminal to lock his creative artwork absolutely thrilling, but it's about as improbable as the infinite improbability drive.

Removing shortcut icons on the desktop

I have a shortcut for something on my desktop and I want to delete it. Drag to trash? I didn't know if that would erase the actual application.

If there is tiny arrow that indicated the icon is a shortcut, and you are sure that the actual application is installed properly in your application folder, when you drag that to trash and empty trash, it will only delete the shortcut, not the application itself.
Just don't empty the trash if you not sure, and try to find the application and launch it, if it launch properly, then you can empty the trash, if nat, drag that back from trash and put that to your application folder.

lets just say, after about one year, ur battery dies. ok? the reason there isnt a user replaceable battery is to give it sleekness, making it look so much like the Dell DJ and iPod, but more like the Dell DJ if u look at it carefully. You might want the micro is u wanna save money of buying batteries. when the zen Sleek battery dies, it will cost around $00 US to replace it, plus u gotta ship it to Creative. With the zen micro, it cost $40 for a battery and all u gotta do is order it online from Creative. MUCH MORE CONVIENT eh?

Wrt54g version 8 and non removable antennas

Campground that we stay at and helped set up the wifi has a wrt54g with an external directional antenna for remote users. and one regular rubber duck anteanna for local wireless users in the office. Further out in the campground there is a wap54g with a directional attenna pointed towards the wrt54g and an omni antenna for uses in that area to receive a good signal.
The wrt548 may be having issues, so the owner purchased a replacement one, however the new wrt54g is version 8, which does not have removeable antennas. Does anybody have an idea on where once can find a previous version, or suggestion on what other Linksys gear coupld be used to replace the setup that he has now.

Not true, I had this run around with Linksys a year ago..
Almost the same thing. We were setting up a campsite and had a WRT54Gs and a WAP54G and we could not get it to work. One tech said it would one said it wouldn't.
The had me try all kinds of configuration including fixed IPs. Nothing. And I"m a reseller and Partner (not anymore).
Bottom line, after threats I got an engineer and here is the story ... It will not work.
We swapped out the router with a 'G' instead of a 'GS' aand it worked first try.
Second, Version 8 does not have removable antennas, only thru version 6.

Tablet A8 5500: impossible to remove shortcuts/icons

Hello, My tablet is new, out of the box from a few hours.
It is impossible to remove any icons on the desktops: the bin does not appear! When I press a few seconds on an icon, I can only move it but not remove it.
I already did firmware upgrade and factory reset.
It drives me crazy. Did I miss anything?
