ho aggiornato a 10.7.4. Grazie

    rough Bing translation:
From that time are no longer visible on the right side of the dock links that I had dragged for a faster aperture.
For example first trailed alongside the downloads folder in the dock and Italiamac links showed me in the form of a coiled spring icon with/at the base.
Now passing over it with the mouse only appears the name of the link, but visually it is as if there were.
How do you (cause) the icon reappear?
    I hope that I explained.

I just purchased a new computer that runs windows 8 and it doesn't want to recognize the time capsule as an external hard drive (ie doesn't show up under my compter).  I've downloaded and run airport utility, but it seems to have a hard time finding the time capsule...maybe one out of 10 times it will find it.
What's more, when I look under network infrastructure under the control panel, it shows my Broadcom ADSL centurylink Router...so I'm wondering if my modem/router combo is overriding the router function on my timecapsule and the time capsule is not being used as a router...
    Any help much appreciated!

In this case the TC should be in bridge mode.
Win8 is still problematic. Try using ethernet instead of wireless. I think the drivers are poor still and it is well worth having a try via ethernet if you haven't already.
Otherwise you will need to wait for apple to release bonjour for windows 8 and airport utility.. which is not out yet.
Also make sure the windows is set to home, not work or public.. even turn off the firewall.
Open windows explorer and type the TC ip address into the address bar.. (none of which is perhaps the same.. I gave away windows at vista.. shudder)

  • How can I print via the AirPort Time Capsule on a Windows 7?

    Hey,
First of all, I am really inexperienced about all these things. I have a MacBook from 2009 with OSX Lion and a PC Windows 7 x64. I have got a time capsule (https://www.mikepalmer.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/apple-time-capsule.jpg) connected to my router
and then another router in my room (probably working as an acces point) to which I  wirelessly connect my Windows 7.
The thing is that I can see the printer (HP Laserjet P1005) from my Mac but I don't know how to add it to my windows. On a previous PC I added a printer to the time capsule's IP 192.168.1.2 and printed with a considerable delay that way.
As you can see I don't understand how networks work, how IP's work, or how ports work in this matter.
Any help will be much appreciated!!

    Hi PGMLEBL,
I am not familiar with Mac product, the best way is ask the HP printer support for the detail support, generally if we know the printer IP address we can add it through add
a network printer, you may can refer the following third party article to add the printer:

  • My Windows Laptop does not connect to my apple 4th generation time capsule can not connect to internet.

I have a HP laptop running Windows 7.  I a habe a 4th generation time capsule for wireless internet.  everytime my laptop restarts it will not pick up and run the internet.  i have to run the trouble shooter program to get it to reconnect.  Sometimes this works sometime it does not the laptop and time capsule are both up todate on all the softwhere.

Is the TC working in router or bridge mode??
Have you set SMB compatible names.. short, no spaces pure alphanumeric.. not apple names.
Have you set wireless with different name for 5ghz.. and set channels manually and tested them.
    11, 6, 1 for 2.4ghz in that order. Low.. say 36 or 40 and around 150 for 5ghz.
Test with no wireless security.. is it then working.. if so, then set wpa2 personal security with a password of 10-20 characters pure alphanumeric.
On a computer /device that does work find out the following.
    DNS and Gateway.
When the PC connects to the wireless does it get the right values for DNS and Gateway.. if not then the TC is either incompatible or wireless driver is not compatible.
The fact that your windows is up to date does not mean the wireless drivers are.. Intel make the worst drivers.. if the laptop has intel wireless card. Expect trouble.
Download direct from Intel the most current driver and the last 3 or 4 available.. not even the latest is a guarantee it will work.
Even if everything is right.. dns gateway.. connection.. security.. wireless channel.. it is wireless.. it can still refuse to move packets.. it is simply the nature of the beastie. Wireless is 80% voodoo still.
Buy a different wireless chipset USB stick.. or get a wireless router like a TP-Link.. very cheap, $30-50 and use it as a WAP plugged into the TC.

  • Dell Inspiron 8600 will not connect to wireless airport/time capsule

I have recently made the switch to Mac. I purchased a IMAC...love it!! Yesterday UPS dropped off my time capsule. I had no problem setting up. However when I tried to use my Dell Inspiron 8600 on the wireless...I can't log on even though the networks are listed and the password is entered correctly. When hooked up to ethernet from time capsule it works great and it worked great with my previous wireless router. Could it be a set-up issue? Could it be a software issue? Any help would be appreciated.

not sure but you should give it a try..
go to System Preferences/Network press <Configure> then <Options> and make sure that the box <Disconnect from wireless metworks when I log out> is unchecked.

  • Windows eventually stops recognizing a Tek TDS2002B via USB

I wrote the software for a machine using a TEK TDS2002B via USB over 5 years ago and don't remember having a problem, but the machine is getting put back into production and they are having a problem with Windows eventually not recognizing the scope.  As far as I remember, I only installed NI-VISA (4.4.1) with LabVIEW 8.6.  My code, using the Tek dirivers I downloaded from NI, acquires the scope waveform via "Fetch Waveform.vi" code (once a connection has been established.  A reboot of the computer fixes the problem (dunno for how long), but I want to stop the need for the reboot.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

Probably the window power management setting shutting down the USB HUBs
    USB Plug-n-Play Devices (Windows)
    Options
    ‎01-22-2012 02:20 PM
In this topic we will discuss some of the common problems that have been observed using USB devices with LabVIEW on Windows operating systems.  Many of these points are also applicable to other environments but the examples will be use the Windows 7 OS.
FAQ 1 : My USB device stops working unexpectedly.
The first thing to look at is the OS power saving options.  There is a global trend towards developing "Green" electronics and energy star ratings are getting fairly common.  "If its not being used shut it off" is nothing new.  Cavemen learned how to bank a fire to preserve energy that would otherwise be wasted.  Likewise, the Windows OS has a power saving feature to shut down power to the USB hubs when no user activity is present.  In Automated systems this feature can cause problems since removing USB hub power will shut down the USB device.   Solution: Use the device manager to change the USB hub Power Options.
FAQ2: I set the power options and my device connection is still unreliable: Remember, those computer USB ports are often the cheapest that can be mounted on the chassis and share the PC system power supply to supply USB Power. Most uses of USB are temporary connections like a thumb drive or a camera.  These connections do not require high reliability since the user is right there interacting with it.  Power surges and fault tolerance at worst cause the operator to retry the data transfer.  Automated systems require a bit more robustness.  Solutions:
    1) ALWAYS use an external self powered hub.  Perform your engineering due diligence and inspect the devices specifications too- If you can't find them for that device that should clue you to seek an product from a vendor that WILL publish their specs.
    2) High noise environments require the use of ferrites on the USB cable- and don't buy the cheapest cable either! The cheap ones are poorly shielded.
    3) PROTECT the HUB connections-  If you have a USB2.0 device and Joe User plugs in a 1.0 device in a open slot managed by the same hub- Bingo every port on the hub may back convert to USB1.0.  WORSE there are a lot of damaged or marginally engineered USB devices out there.  Joe User's device may cause power fluctuations when it is inserted or removed from the hub just don't let it happen!
FAQ3: I am testing USB devices and the OS can't find them anymore.
This is a Plug-n-Play feature that deserves some exposure.  When you connect a P-n-P device the OS remembers its serial number in a HKEY (Hive-Key) registry entry.  This is helpful when (for example) you want a specific instrument, Say an NI-USB-6008, to show up as a DAQmx Device with VISA Alias "MyDAQ1" every time it is plugged it.  On the other hand, If you want to test a line of USB-Serial converters this can be problematic since the P-n-P driver will mount the first serial number as "COM3" and the next as "COM4" add infinitum until the enumerator controller in the registry and VISA recognized aliases get used up.  Solution: Use the Windows registry API and the Hardware Configuration API in LabVIEW to clear unused VISA Aliases and HKEY entries.   Speak with your staff IT professional about HKEY structure and possible side effects before developing a plan to edit registry entries.

  • Is it possible to share Windows XP internet connection to iPhone 4 via USB tethering?

My computer (Windows XP) connects to the internet, and I want to share that connection to my iPhone 4 (iOS 5.0.1). Is it possible to do that via USB tethering? I know that it's possible for iPhone 4 to share its internet connection to others via Personal Hotspot, so can the opposite be done?

You wouldn't be able to do that via USB, however if your computer had the ability to transmit wireless from the computer, you would be able to connect the iPhone to it via wifi. Computers have the ability to do that with the correct equipment.

  • My Dell pc hangs while transferring data to/from the Time Capsule

    Hi,
I have a really weird problem.
I bought the TC yesterday and I set it up in "bridge mode". So it is connected to my ADSL modem/router via ethernet cable (plugged into the WAN port on the TC) and it creates a wireless network.
My ADSL modem/router is a Zyxel and it's also a wireless router.
My old network setup was wireless-only: the zyxel modem/router was providing access for my Dell PC and my PowerBook.
Now the modem/router is only working as a modem and the TC is providing wireless access for both computers.
Now. Yesterday I was testing the whole thing and I was copying files from the mac to the TC and viceversa. No problem, everything smooth and fast.
Then I tried to copy a file from the pc to the TC and... BOOOM. The pc HANGS big time as it never did before! Not even the mouse is responding, I just have to restart it. Before copying, everything works fine: internet is ok, I can see the TC disk, I can access it etc... everything looks ok. But after few seconds/minutes into the copying, KABOOM.
My PC is a DELL OPTIPLEX GX620, almost three years old. I updated BIOS, chipset driver and the Zyxel wireless adapter's driver.
    Nothing. Exactly the same.
My suspect is the Zyxel wireless adapter that is using the "g" standard. In my old network setup all the devices were using the "g" standard. Now the TC is using the "n" standard and, even if it downgrades automatically to "g" to be compatible, it might be that the Zyxel adapter is not handling it very well and it hangs making the whole PC hang as well.
    Specs:
PC: Dell OPTIPLEX GX620 with Windows XP (up to date)
Using a Zyxel G-202 wireless adapter USB (connected to the USB 2.0 back port)
Mac: PowerBook 15" almost 4 years old with Tiger (up to date)
TC: Brand new with firmware 7.3.2
Modem/Router: Zyxel with 4 ethernet ports and wireless (can't remember the model)
    Unfortunately I can't access the modem/router configuration.
Any idea? Should I try with a different wireless adapter for the PC? Or am I missing something?
    Thanks,
    Marco

    Sorry for my poor english.
What I meant is that my two computers are not connected to the modem/router wireless network anymore and there's nothing else connected to it, except for the TC itself. So the modem/router is, of course, still a router, but it's only used as a modem.
Do you mean I should set the TC as a normal client on the modem/router wireless network? But if I do so, it will work for sure because my PC will then join the modem/router wireless network (and not the TC's anymore) as it always did.
Or maybe you meant something else?

  • Time Capsule Intermittently goes from full bar strength to none

    Hello!
My question is similar to this thread: http://tinyurl.com/5qk7uk
I have noticed that when I power on and logon to my Mac, my wifi connection goes from full bar strength to none. I turn off airport, then back on, to restore my full speed. It will also sometimes do this throughout the day but it seems very sporadic and I can't link it to any event. Any advice?
    Thanks

I have set-up a dual band network, with a TC at "2.4 ghz n" and an old Airport "g" connected by eNet to the TC. The two devices are next to each other on the top bookshelf of my office. In the family room, approximately 40' away and slightly lower (5 steps) I have an Express configured to extend the "g" network. We use our MacBook Pros in the family room, hers at "g" mine at "n". There is also an TV in the family room. Here are the questions:
    1. Will proximity of the "n" TC and the Airport "g" affect transmission speed?
    2. Should the AX (extender) and the Airport be set to operate on the same channel, or different, or does it matter.
    Thanks.

  • How can I set up a time capsule to extend my wifi network from a non-apple Medialink MWN-WAPR300N?

I just purchased a new Medialink MWN-WAPR300N from Amazon to replace my old 2008 500 GB Time Capsule.
I was wondering if it would be possible to use my old Time Capsule to extend the network from the Medialink router to the rooms in the back of my house. Would this be possible? How about if I use the Time Capsule as the primary point, and use the Medialink router to extend the network?
    Thanks!

The Time Capsule would not be compatible with a Medialink product if you are thinking of trying to use the Time Capsule to extend the Medialink network using wireless only.
The same would be true if the Time Capsule were the primary router, and you tried to use the Medialink product to extend the Time Capsule network wirelessly.
If you can connect the two devices together using a permanent wired Ethernet connection, then you should be able to accomplish your goal.
