How do I change to non-secure login on phones for ip services in 5.0?

This gives you access to all your subscribed services without logging in every time. Keep in mind that anyone can access your information if your login mode is set to non-secure.
you need to use the SCCP Phone Security Profile in Callmanager 5.0

MS13-002 Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0

I've tried to cache this patch 3 times now for my client and each time, it shows as cached but when trying to remediate it, it fails to cache to the client. Has anyone else had problems with this one? For now, I've disabled it but since it's listed as critical, I'd like to resolve the issue.

If you find the sentence “A failure was detected for a previous installation” on the Summary.txt log file, please repair SQL Server using the following article:

OBIEE: Skip separate login for Presentation services

All,
I wanted to use my LAN ID login for my BI Presentation services instead of having separate login screen there.
Meaning if i click on my BI Presentation services link it shouldn't ask for a separate login id /password it should receive my LAN id/password directly from the system & as i click the link i should be able to get the Dashboards according to my access rights.
As of now i am using OBIEE only in my local.
I am using 10g.
Please provide Ur valuable answers at the earliest.

but I did find an update just like it but it was for "2013" instead of "2008". my question is, Do I have to install this exact update? My computer has been updated to windows 8.1.. I don't know if that makes any difference either,

My requirement is to uninstall/remove security update for SQL

If I go to a website that requires a login & password, and I have it set up to automatically log me in, I get automatically logged in (it remembers by userid & password for that site), but the prompt from the Software Security Device for my master password appears as well. I can cancel the prompt and it goes away, but it shouldn't show up because I'm already logged in. This problem started happening after I downloaded Firefox 24 yesterday.

I thought you were getting that exception when accessing the proxy.
No. Authentification works fine. Proxy body works fine. But at the end of proxy appears the exception.

Are you getting this exception when routing to a business service which is configured for WS-Security ??
I don't use business service in this test project - only simple proxy service with all logic inside.

Security Settings for two admin groups with shared service

Hi all,
I use Essbase Administration Services 11.1.2 and Hyperion Shared Services Console 11.1.2.0.73 (Drop 17)
Access Rights are granted via Groups in Hyperion Shared Service Console.
We have two admin groups.
AccessGroup 1: admin rights on some cubes (A) and read rights on all others (B).
AccessGroup 2: admin rights on (B) and read rights on (A).
If someone of AccessGroup 1 copies a cube of (A) – Fin_rep for example – wether AccessGroup 1 nor AccessGroup 2 can even see the cube (and i dont even mention admin rights) execpt the one who copied it.
Settings in Shared Services Console:
- Both groups have role "Create/delete application" and "AccessManager" (or something like that - german word is "Zugriffsberechtigungsmanager") on Essbase Cluster (our essbase server).
- AccessGroup 1 has role "ApplicationManager" and "AccessManager" for all cubes which they should administrate (A)
and role "Read" for all cubes with read only (B)
- AccessGroup 2 has role "ApplicationManager" and "AccessManager" for all cubes which they should administrate (B)
and role "Read" for all cubes with read only (A)

Security will not copy over when you create new cube from old cube. You have to grant security to required groups using shared services or Maxl.

Security Update for exchange server 2013SP1 KB3011140 Stops all services and failes to install

Hi All,
Over the past 2 days this update has tried to run on the server in the evening but ends up failing. When it fails it is causing all of our exchange services to stop working and when we try to check e-mails the following day we find out the e-mail service
has been offline since the update.
Is there anything specific we need to do before running this update?

Windows Update. If it fails, we can also download and install the updates manually. The following stand-alone file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:

Initial and expired password status is not checked during login for ITS Services

Dear all,
we have the following Basic problem or question regarding ITS-based ABAP Services provided via browser to internal and external customers:
The user call the ITS via URL "https://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/it13?sap-client=03&sap-language=en" his browser.
To access the Service a simple login Dialog appears for entering the credentials (UserID + Password).
The problem with this simple Dialog is that after resetting the users password this initial password status seems not to be checked here.
That means, that the user is able to login with this initial password and he is not forced to change the password.
In difference to this the intended behavior is provided for example when the SAP Standard ITS Service "webgui" is launched by the user:
The user launches der Service via URL "https://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?sap-client=03&sap-language=en"
In this case an additional first SAP WebAS login dialog appears where the users has to click on a Login-Button. This login button opens
another login dialog as a popup where the user is able to enter his credentials. But if the password has an initial status the user is
forced afterwards to change his password.
So the login behavior of the webgui Service is what we also want for the any other ITS Service. We've already compared the service properties and
settings (SICF), but we could not find any difference.
What can we do to change the login behavior for the ITS services ?

Can you attach a screenshot of the "Logon Data" tab of the service 'it13' in transaction SICF?
In SICF - Tab: Error Pages -> Logon Errors
is 'SYSTEM Logon' selected for both the 'WEBGUI' service and 'IT13' service?

Secure login to sql 2012 database for webusers

We build up a new website in .net mvc 4.0 on a w2012 server with MSSQL 2012 database.
We use windows autentification and normal anonymous access through NT AUTHORITY\IUSR who is also a login in the database.
But we make extra login possibility for users who are registered and they can insert and modify data in some tables in the database. And I'am afraid of giving NT AUTHORITY\IUSR insert and update for some column in tables.
I think of set up a new login for the database. Run a new connection string on login and set up special permission for that extra user on the database, set up a new role and let the new user become member, but also let the user become a member of the ordinary
user(roles) in the database.
Have anyone any idea what is the best practice here and the most secure way to do it?
Any links for other resources about this topic?
Or perhaps my fear for using NT AUTHORITY\IUSR is groundless

I don't know much about web servers, which may explain your alternatives entirely.
But, if you use the same connection string for reads that you do for updates, then you must control all permission for writes in the web app. And you must be sure that you only use parameterised SQL or stored procedures, so that there is no risk for SQL
injection.
If you give special logins for the users with read access, they would need their own accounts in SQL Server. If this is an intranet site, the web server may be able to impersonate these users and then connect to SQL Server. If that does not work out, you
would have to create SQL logins for these.
Obviously, this requires more administration, but it is also more secure, because you are adding a line of defence. Even if your application is free from SQL injection vulnerabilities today, some new badly educated kid on the block could open a hole two
years later.

Cumulative Security Update for Windows XP Service Pack 2 Warning!

Not sure how many of you guys remember the problems associated with the Windows XP Service Pack 2 when it was first released, but the latest Cumulative Security patch completely disabled my Plextor 708A DVD drive and locked up Windows Explorer.
Here is the problem patch:
o Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer for Windows XP Service Pack 2 (KB883939)
It caused my Plextor 708A to give off two blinking Amber lights, which according to Plextor indicates the drive is defective. Plextor actually tells you to get a RMA ticket and to return the drive. Luckily I found it odd that my DVD drive became defective after I installed the latest windows update and tried uninstalling the 'fixes' before going that route. Fortunately, removal of one of the 'fixes' solved my problem.
If you find that your DVD or CD Player no longer works after doing a windows update, then do the following:
o Go to Control Panel
o Select Add Remove Programs
o Scroll to the bottom and select Security Update for Windows XP (KB883939)
o Click 'Remove'
o Restart your computer
I might not have the latest security fix right now, but at least my computer is running.
Stu: Can you report this to MSI and have them get in touch with M$?
