Non smooth text became antialiasing when set stageStyle to TRANSPARENT

The smooth attribute of a Text was set to false, it works fine when stageStyle is decorated or undecorated. However, when stageStyle was set to TRANSPARENT, the Text was changed to antialiasing automatically. Anybody knows how to fix this problem?

I attempted to adjust the white level, the field order, but don't think ever got to messing around with FCP's processing settings...I am actually encoding the film right now as I was under the gun and actually found the "scroll" plugin in FCP to work just as good if not better than Motion without any tweaking so had to roll wth that. I will attempt to tweak the Motion file again though as I cannot bear sub-par credits. Will also email you the Motion file if you don't mind.

I've been looking for a solution for this everywhere and I keep finding conflicting reports, but I can tell you with certainty that "none" is not listed when I try this method.

I have forwarded a suggestion to the forum hosts and asked them to review the article and add to make sure the user logs out when using an iPhone to create a new account (as is shown for the computer).

You use Restore to get the latest firmware build, not the Update button. You can only use the Update button, if there is an iOS update, say iOS 5.1.

Some conditional text in text inset showing when text inset is set to condition and hidden

I'm using Frame 8 on XP Pro SP3.
I have some text insets that I want to mark to appear or disappear depending on whether the document needs them or not. One is "domestic" and the other is "row".
My problem is that within the text inset is a condition (G2) that also appears in the document that I want to show in the document whether or not the text inset shows.
So what's happening is:
1 - Click on the text inset.
2 - Set it to "domestic".
3 - Set my target file to show "row" along with "G2".
4 - The text inset disappears except the "G2" tagged text from the inset still shows.
I end up with a heading on the following paragraph that has the paragraph number followed by however many instances of text tagged "G2" in the text inset or insets followed by the actual text of the heading.
I seem to remember that previously if you tagged a text inset with a condition and then turned off the condition, the text inset (all of it) did not show. So it appears that Frame 8 now will hide the text inset except for any text tagged with a condition that is used and set to show in the target file.
I'm haven't played with the expressions much, but I'm not sure there's a way to tell it to use the "G2" condition in the file, but ignore it if it's in a text inset that isn't to be shown.

Mike, please specify the exact version of FM you're using, from Help > About, the "pxxx" numbers.

Random text bug when set-top is in the off/standby mode.

Anyone else every see this when set-top is in standby with the TV still on? QIP6416-2 running 1.6.2 of the IMG in VHO8.

The ipad may keep a connection alive in sleep mode.. but it should only use local connection AFAIK, and no internet content.
I have a similar setup with iPad and although it has an IP it is not actually reachable on the network. I will track usage and see if it is actually using anything but I would doubt it.
Now of course it may depend on what apps you have running. I really doubt the ipad will be using that much of your download unless you are watching movies on it.

FRM-40209 Field must be of form . - for a non-based text item

When I try querying using a VARCHAR2 non-based text item in a table-based block, setting dynamically in PRE-QUERY trigger the DEFAULT_WHERE property for its block, in case I use characters > or < (for bringing values greater or smaller than the one in the field, as in a standard Oracle query) error message is raised: 'FRM-40209 Field must be of form .' The issue has nothing to do with the error itself (usually related to erronated format mask of the field), and it is known as an Oracle Forms bug: I found it as bug 851153 - which appears on execute query if you enter in a non-base-table-item and the block has a pre-query trigger. The bug has been solved later in Oracle Developer Forms Builder 6i, or so I've been reading, problem is the application I'm working to requires Forms Builder 6.0.5.
I am trying to find an workaround for this situation and these are the info I managed to discover myself on the topic:
- if I fill the field with '>value instead of >value, query works fine, bringing only values greater than the specified value. (So far, this and inactivating the FRM-40209 error in ON-ERROR trigger seems like the best I can do)
- if I only use > (without '), I cannot use an auxiliar variable/global in which to store the actual value written in the field, I also cannot print the value in a message, because trying to use the exact string, it is shown as null (even though when the error is raised, value is still shown on the screen in the text item).
Maybe someone could help with an idea for an workaround in order to copy the content of the text field before it actually becomes null…

Non public text items into a Public page

I have a Page with Public Access, but inside it an item text which I would like to set as non public access item. In fact I do that, but when I display the page in view mode I can see that non public item although I had set the access th it as non public.
Is there any way of achieve that feature ?

What version of Portal are you running? I am unaware of any issues related to what you are trying. Ensure that you are not trying to view the secure content as the owner/creator of the page group or page even though you have not given this user access to the item. The owner/creator of the page will always see everything.

I have to turn on Smooth Text every time

Every time I open a PDF in Internet Explorer, the smooth text option is set to none. I have to reset it to "For Monitor" everytime.
Is this normal? The old Reader would remember your setting.
I'm using Reader 10.1.0 and Windows 7 and IE 8.

Yes, Jim, I very often reset Safari for privacy reasons, so that may very well be the reason for my need to log in and update every time. The two facts that there are iTune cookies and that they are stored with Safari is news to me, and to me the last fact sounds like a silly decision on Apple´s side.
This helped a lot clearing up why I have to log in and update. I still have to find out why two computers with the same account report different numbers of songs....

HOW can I enter text using Japanese character sets?

The "Text, Plates, Insets" section of the LOOKOUT(6.01) Help files states:
"Click the » button to the right of the Text field to expand the field for multiple line entries. You can enter text using international character sets such as Chinese, Korean, and Japanese."
Can someone please explain HOW to do this? Note, I have NO problem inputting Hirigana, Katakana, and Kanji into MS WORD; the keyboard emulates the Japanese layout and characters (Romaji is default) and the IME works fine converting Romaji, and I can also select charcters directly from the IME Pad. I have tried several different fonts with success and am currently using MS UI Gothic.ttf as default. Again, everything is normal and working in a predictable manner within Word.
I cannot get these texts into Lookout. I can't cut/paste from HTML pages or from text editors, even though both display properly. Within Lookout with JP selected as language/keyboard, when trying to type directly into the text field, the IME CORRECTLY displays Hirigana until <enter> is pressed, at which point all text reverts to question marks (?? ???? ? ?????). If I use the IME Pad, it does pretty much the same. I managed to get the "Yen" symbol to display, though, if that's relevant. As I said, font selected (in text/plate font options) is MS UI Gothic with Japanese as the selected script. Oddly enough, at this point the "sample" window is showing me the exact Hirigana character I want displayed in Lookout, but it won't. I've also tried staying in English and copying unicode characters from the Windows Character Map. Same results (Yen sign works, Hirigana WON'T).

Non-English Text Printing

Hi friends,
I am using a variable to display a text in english as a simple list, it is coming fine. Also, when the same variable is used to display any non-english text like korean or japanees, it is coming fine in the output list. But, when I do the print preview using 'LP01' or other test printer, the korean or japanees text is printed to the left (the text is shifted to the left) as result the whole column is shifted to the left.
Can anyone tell what could be the problem & it's possible solution.

Missing text in PDF when I use Acrobat 9.2 and FM 9

I was able to PDF ok from FM9 using Acrobat 6, but when I upgraded to Acrobat 9.2,
I'm getting some missing text in the PDF. Some non-bold text is missing. The number
for Chapter 3 is missing in the TOC. Any suggestions?

What font name, format (TTF, PFB/PFM, OTF?) and vintage?
Did you upgrade the fonts when upgrading the apps?
Any chance you have multiple copies of the same typeface name installed? Historically, having both the TTF and PFM (Type 1) of the same name installed could have undesired results.
... but when I upgraded to Acrobat 9.2, I'm getting some missing text in the PDF. Some non-bold text is missing.
What is "some text"? Some entire typefaces (all text thereof), or just some characters of a typeface, like, say, the ligatures in Helvetica.
The number for Chapter 3 is missing in the TOC.
What font is Frame looking for?
Also, are you embedding the fonts during PDF creation?

Dynamic text not displaying when publishing for flash 8

This dynamic text works fine when the movie is published for
flash 7, but when i export for the flash 8 player it seems to be
invisible. Is there any obvious reason for this happenning?

Ok, thanks, looks like you've pointed me in the right
direction. I havent fixed it yet though. Heres where i am at:

text format, so long as i accept a default font, its fine).

ps further to this is have discovered more about this strange
behaviour. i can set the text to a different string, provided i do
not try to embed the font in any way. if i set the font to embed, i
can have the text display with the correct font, until i change the
text. then it dissappears. also i cannot seem to affect properties
like font size by means of my TextFormat object. the textFormat
object also does not seem to affect the font of the text.
in short, when exporting for flash 8, i cannot seem to
successfully embed fonts for dynamic text. the only thigs i have
gotten to work are: static text (or a dynamic text feild with
unchanged text) with an embedded font, or dynamic text with a
default font.

Translate the texts you need in german and rest keep it as it is.
In your code pass if SET LOCALE LANGUAGE = 'EN'.
Read the text elements
else.
SET LOCALE LANGUAGE = 'DE'.
