"Non starter" MS_6119

Sorry about the vague subject! Here's the problem.
I have a PC running on a MS-6119. It's been sitting in a cupboard for about a year and I hoiked it out to discover that, although it fires up OK physically, it doesn't transmit anything to the monitor.
TO explain more fully the monitor receives no signal from the machine at all. I have fired up the machine and listened (through the speakers) for signs that windows was firing up but nothing is heard. The hard drive and all peripheral gear does seem to fire up OK (you hear the hard drive grinding and clicking away as usual).
Basically, if you were put in another room to the monitor and you were looking at the open case of the PC you would swear you were watching a normally booting PC.
To troubleshoot I have done the following 1 by 1:
1. Changed out the PSU
2. Changed out the video card
3. Changed out the memory.
4. Changed out the Hard Drive.
5. Changed out the Mobo battery.
6. Attempted to clear the BIOS by swapping the jumper.
7. i have NOT changed out the CPU as I do not have a spare.
I have removed all non-essential cards so that it is now a bare bones system.
The really scary bit is I found a jumper in the bottom of the case. Now this may just be paranoia but is it likely that one fell off and is causing the failure (it's not the one that controls the BIOS - that's OK).
If it is this, is there a picture of which jumpers go where that I could access to double check all is OK? If not, does anyone have any ideas of what to do next?
I apologise for being verbose but I thought I'd try and give as much info as possible.
Regards
Chris.

To add on, I have the same problem... also, when I try to take out the ram on the mobo, I heard a long beep sound.. does that means that the mobo and CPU is normal ?
When I put back the ram, I do not hear any beep but I also do not see any display on the monitor. Can an yone advise ?
Thanks.

  • Dequeing from AQ in a non-start activity

    Hi everybody,
    I have the following pattern:
    Process 1:
    <process>
    <enqueue AQ CorrelationID = '1'/>
    </process>
    Process 2:
    <process>
    <receive start activity/>
    <dequeue AQ CorrelationID = '1'/> <!-- plus internal BPEL CorrelationSet -->
    </process>
The idea behind is that I must dequeue from my AQ in a non-start process activity.
So I tried to setup the AQ adapter with a CorrelationID = 'dynamic' (unused) in the AQ adapter wizard and then to modify the CorrelationID dynamically, at runtime, using the AQ header.
As my activity is not a start activity I have setup also an internal BPEL CorrelationSet based on the AQ payload.
Unfortunately my BPEL process is not consuming any message from the queue.
Is there any way to get this working? How may I dequeue from an AQ in an non-start activity?
I'm using the AQ Adapter from BPEL 10.1.2.0.2. Is there any change in BPEL 10.1.3.1.0 concerning this issue?
    Regards,
    amo

Yes you can use your web start application console. To enter data which is required for your application it is better idea to use java application which runs in console mode althou you may try to run console of windows and then read data from its input stream.

After battery run out shutted down, i try to charge it but during, shows a usb cable with itunes logo and an arrow to get connected, after 8hours charge, when connect to itunes says for :
    iPad Recovery Mode
Your ipad software is up to date. iTunes will automatically check for an update again on 11/03/2013. (in a week)
I tried start it like is but non start, is it deleted all from it....?
    Ipad 1
    3.2 updated to 4.3.3
what can recover if deleted all?
    pdfs eBooks are recoverable?

The first step of syncing with iTunes is iTunes making a backup. Restore from that backup using the instructions in this article. Your iPad will be like it was when the backup was made.
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
The backup does not included synced media like apps. music and synced photos.
If necessary you can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Do that before restoring from backup

  • H61M-P20 G3 motherboard 99 code shown right-below, non start

    Hi, I bought yesterday a MSI H61M-P20 G3 mainboard, with Kingston KHX1600C9D3B1/4G - Memory and i3 Intel BX80637I33220 - Core I3-3220 processor. PS2 Keyboard and Mouse.
I have installed Window 7 32 bits, and sometimes when I turn it ON or restarting it, system doesn't starts it shows a black screen with a 99 code below at right side of the screen.
Its very strange because it doesn't happens always, also I have tried with the attached elements (keyboard and mouse). I don't know if it has relation or not with this 99 code, but when I disconnect the PS2 keyboard I have restarted and turned OFF many times and 99 code doesn't appears and system starts correctly, I will try today with an USB keyboard.
Could be the keyboard the reason of this 99 code with system non starting issue?
I wanna be sure if the mainboard have a failure to return it as a defectous part.
    Thanks in advance.

  • 2007 15" Mac book pro. non starter

    Hi all.
Hope someone can help me to determine whether my 2007 Macbook pro is worth trying to save or i should just ebay for spares or repair..
I never fully shut down the machine, more for convenience than anything else but yesterday found when waking it from sleep i had no display. This happened about two weeks ago but when i pressed the F2 brightness button on the keyboard the display suddenly came on so thought no more about it. Unfortunately this didn't work yesterday and i could get no response from any other key or keys so the only option left was to shut it down and reboot, which it did with no problems and worked flawlessly for about three hours. I then had a lazy lunch leaving the machine running, expecting as i have done before for the machine to do its power save setting thing. On my return it would not come back to life so thinking it was repeating it earlier problem shut the whole thing down to reboot. On pressing the power button it tries to start up but this lasts for about two and a half seconds then dies. I can hear the initial spooling of the hdd and optical drive but then stops dead. Battery, tho no longer at it best is fully charged. Magsafe is working green light on plug. Dose the same on battery power or using magsafe.
My initial thought was a hard drive failure but then the machine would still start just not boot into osx. Please correct me if im wrong.
So after googling the problem and trawling the forums reading similar problems and possible causes i.e hdd failure, logic board failure, etc, im still none the wiser.
Any help or advise will be much appreciated
    MacBookpro 15"
    2.4 intel core 2 duo
    2gb Ram
    200gb hdd

Thanks for the quick response sig. How would the display effect the power up of the machine tho?
Hmm.... another possible to add to the list.
I was hoping maybe the symptoms pointed to a probable cause. seems like it could be many tho. Bugger! dont want to spend money for someone to tell me its Knackered then tell me its going to cost a small fortune to fix.
I bought it second hand with a couple of months apple care left but that has long since expired.
    I shall sleep on it.....

  • CS4 error 1 on (non) start up

I had to reload the program twice.  I am running Windows Vista 64 bit on an Asus CG5270 with 8 gigs of ram.  I have a Nvidia GEforceGT 220 graphics card with 335.23 latest driver.  Before and after reloading the program I cannot get video in source or preview windows, and as soon as I ask the program to do anything I get a stalled circle and (not responding) message.

It sounds like the iTunes CD driver did not get installed properly. Try doing a repair install.
Windows Start menu -> Settings -> Control Panels -> Add or Remove Programs
Select iTunes, Select Change/Remove button, Select "Repair" radio button, click OK.
You should have a folder C:\Program Files\iTunes\CD Configuration on your system. That's what it's looking for.

  • Weird mac non-start up issue

My Mac Pro crashed in After Effects yesterday. SInce then it will start up in WIndows7 under Boot Camp but won't run properly in OSX. I've swapped out the hard drive for another system drive but I get the Grey Screen of Death, that also happens when I try to boot from the System DVD. I've removed all PCI cards and external devices. Even with no hard disks in at all and just booting from DVD gets the hang screen. I tried PRAM and removed the battery but no joy.
Holding Alt at start up gives me four options.
    1 Current system
    2 Old System
    3 Install DVD
    4 Windows Boot Camp
They're all on separate internal drives.
1 Current system lets me login and gets as far as displaying the desktop then either jumps back to the login screen again or crashes to a blue screen and the spinning wheel
2 Old System gives me the Grey screen of death at the apple logo
3 Install DVD gives me the Grey screen of death at the apple logo.
    4 Windows boots fine
What's confusing is the that as Windows boots fine it can't be a hardware thing. But if it's a mac system software thing then surely the DVD should boot OK? And how come both system disks don't work suddenly and in different ways?

Your OS (I can't find OS minimim requirement) may not boot from DVD or any system that doesn't have drivers, and it may be it requires 10.6.5.
Did you ever boot before with this card and DVD or try with less than 10.6.4?
Still, you have another graphic card either installed or handy, so you can boot w/o the Q4000 installed.
The last SL DVD was only 10.6.3, only $25 @ Amazon if need be.
You / I never boot Disk Warrior from CD, doesn't have drivers, slow, would be an older OS build, etc. which should be v. 4.2+ also.

Does it work with just the Quadro?

  • Security Update and It's A Non Starter =)

    Hey,
Sorry ahead of time in case this makes no sense.
I attempted to upgrade yo the new Security Update, and it was optimizing the disk when it just seemed to stop. I didn't realise for a while but it was just hanging. I restarted the G4 to try and get it going again but all that's happening is the Apple logo and spinning thing! I've left it running, tried rebooting in safe mode. I've no idea where to start! Oh and to throw an extra spanner in the works, I'd a DVD in the drive and I can't get it out if I've to reinstall discs! =) uh oh..... If anyone has any advice, i'd really really appreciate it!
    Thanks
    Sarah
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Great! We are glad to hear that the problem is sorted.
Regarding your question - "What exactly was the problem with the update I dowloaded?" - here are my opinions. Most likely, there was nothing wrong with the download. The conventional wisdom, to which I subsribe, is that there is usually a pre-existing condition on the machine which manifests itself in the way that you experienced. For example, there might be some third party software on the machine which is not compatible with the update. The machine works fine before the update, but after the update, there is a software conflict and you have problems. This is certainly not the only scenario for trouble, but it is one possibility.
Should you use Software Update in the future? My opinion is yes, unless you want the software on your machine to stay at the current level. But, given your recent experience, it would be useful to take a bigger view and think about what happens if you have some other big problem in the future. For instance, a hard drive could go bad and you might have to replace it. Or, you could have another software problem, not necessarily related to an update, and need to reinstall your operating system. In these situations, what happens to your personal files? They probably will be lost unless you have instituted a backup plan. So, if this is something that you are not doing and you really would be upset if you lost a lot of data, you might give this some thought. There are some good discussions of backup strategies at Backup and recovery. You can also enter "backup" into the search box at the upper right and you will find lots of info.
    Cheers,

  • Weird Non-Start Issue

I've been experiencing an occasional system freeze where the system locks up completely and if I'm listening to music it repeats the same note until force restarted.
Anyway, it hasn't happened the past few days and I was feeling confident my computer was ok.
So tonight I go to shut the MBP off and this time it took forever. 2+ minutes of just spinning and spinning at the shutdown screen.
Finally it shut down and I took it to class where it wouldn't completely turn on again. It wouldn't get past a black screen and nothing seemed to help. After class I came home and tried to target-disk-mode onto my girlfriend's MacBook, which it did no problem, except the MBP still had a black screen and none of the backlighting, caps lock key light, etc worked.
I disconnected the MBP after copying my files over and I realized I had forgotten my Mail database, so I re-connected it and booted into target-disk mode and the computer came back to life, and has worked flawlessly ever since.
I really don't trust the computer anymore, should I take it in for service?
    Message was edited by: SMG87

So I shut the MBP down overnight and it didn't boot up this morning. So, I tried doing target disk mode to my spare MacBook, disconnected and did target disk mode again.
Sure enough, just like last time the second target disk mode brought it back to life!
Does this sound like a hardware problem where the fix is 100% reproducible?

  • ITunes 8 a non-starter

I've seen elsewhere in several threads that folks are having trouble with iTunes 8-- my case is similar but it seems there are two, potentially separate, problems. Others have noted something about crashes or hangs when some artwork conversion occurs. I presume this to mean that on YOUR machine the main iTunes window actually appears onscreen before it hangs.
In my case I click the icon in the dock and it hops up and down twice and then-- nothing. Even when I try to Force Quit the application (where it is listed as Not Responding) it will not shut down and I end up having to restart my Mac. In the threads detailing the 'artwork conversion crashes/hangs' I've seen others note that they don't even get that far, but there hasn't seem to be any response or workaround posted for those of us experiencing this problem.
I deleted iTunes 8 from my Applications directory, emptied the trash, downloaded and re-installed the app again and I still get the same hanging failure. This is really frustrating! I can't sync my phone, any of my iPods, or even listen to music.

I have had huge problems since upgrading to iTune 8 (as well as the new Quicktime which I installed simultaneously which cause a runaway log file - but that's a different topic)! I have a new iPod Touch (16gb) and I've been moving files onto by opening iTunes in Safe Mode. This is NOT a fix, it's a band-aid at best!! Whenever I try to open iTunes (not in safe mode), I get a message saying "Processing Album Artwork" and the name of a Podcast which I have completely removed from my iTunes Library in the Finder. Even in safe mode, I can't view my Podcasts without it freezing (by freezing I mean a never-ending pinwheel and "Application Not Responding") before I can even switch it to List View. Frankly, at this point, I'd trash all of my Podcasts just to be able to use iTunes - I never have time to listen to them anyway - and any really interesting ones I will just download again... I'm much more interested in keeping my music, video (movies, tv shows), and Touch apps. I can't cancel the "Processing Album Artwork" process - I just get a pinwheel and can't even click the little x in that "processing" window (which is in front and I can't get behind), and the App is instantly "Not Responding" - I have to force quit out of it *every time*. When I first installed the update, I was getting errors with the Genius "feature" too - but was able to disable it in Safe Mode (don't care about the Genius thing either!).
So I'm really not sure how to fix this problem (obviously, lol). It seems like I need to rebuild my library so that it doesn't read that darn podcast that doesn't even exist anymore and try to Process Artwork for it - can anyone point me to a good way of doing that? I have my entire iTunes library on my external hard-drive in case that matters (I'm down to 20GB on my main drive with almost no user files on it). Having now read that some people had their external drives killed while trying to use iTunes 8, I'm now really, really nervous! That is my only external drive and it has ALL my personal files on it, not just my iTunes library - if I lose that drive I will be really screwed (seriously, I will probably start crying - this would create a huge hardship for me!)
I will follow the boards here, but if anyone has a solution and wants to help a damsel in distress - I'd greatly appreciate it... Thanks!

  • T-Mobile and Web N Walk. Non starter.

First off hello, i'm new to the forum as i bought my MBP yesterday.
I've had a good search around and there are a few related topics to my query but nothing as specific as what i need.
    My problem is this.
    I have:
MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.2
    and want to use:
T-Mobile dongle E160 (looks exactly like the e110 on the t-mobile website) using the Web N Walk operating program.
When i insert the dongle, web n walk appears top right as usual. When i double click to start, it says something along the lines of ''T-Mobile Web n Walk manager quit unexpectedly''
An option is given to re-open the program but it doesn't work.
So i'm stuck. I had this dongle for my previous windows vista laptop and, as normal, it worked fine. I was told by many a people that it would work fine on the mac too.
Does anyone know what I need to do/download/smash with a hammer?
    Many thanks for your help.
    Priest

Hi, I dont know if you still need help, but i have a working Web 'n' walk manager on leopard 10.6 i played with it a little. it works to sent the texts, connect and all.

  • G3 non start

My friend has a G3 Tower running 10.3.x. All of a sudden it will not allow his admin. acct. to log in.
He's sure he is using the correct password. The sign in screen will let him enter the password, it does not do the wrong password shake-off, it thinks a minute, then returns with this error message:
"You are unable to log in to the user account 'blah-blah' at this time"??? At this time??? He thinks it may be a problem with FileVault. Tried rebooting from install disc to change password but even when holding down the 'c' key, it wouldn't start from the disc. Any suggestions out there?? Thanks in advance.
    Chris

Hi Chris, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Does it also have firmware password protection in Mac OS X ...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1352
It would block usage of all the startup keys, like C, N, T, D, CMD+s, CMDOption+pr, CMD +v, Option, and Shift.
I don't see that any G3 Towers supported that actually, but just checking.
I think they'll need another account to log into to retrieve the Filevault account, if there isn't one try this...

  • Imac non start up

Can anybody out there give me a bit of help please?
At start up my Mac gets to blue screen (with apple) and jumps to grey screen with error msg:
    /etc/master.passwd:invalid argument
    -sh:/etc/profile:Invalid argument
    -sh-2.056#
Used disk warrior, got msg which confirmed that it fixed problem but advises that there is not enough contiguous free space for a fail-safe replacement of the directory and that I should create 127 mb of contiguous free space before replacing the original directory.
Problem is, I'm new to this technical side of things and don't understand 'contiguous free space' or how to achieve it.
    Help!

Thanks for the reply. I've already run the repair utilities and it came up with msg that HD needed to be repaired, hence I purchased diskwarrior, and thats how I ended up with diskwarrior giving me the free space msg. Problem though, is that I don't know how to do it. I'm a beginner!

  • Win7 browsing=perfect, downloads=non starter!

A somewhat strange problem I have only just noticed, I am a first time bootcamp user so this may be a common problem that someone may have an answer to, browsing through IE, safari, firefox etc... no problems I get the usual 5MB speed, however if I download any file from any website/windows update and the like it either drops down to almost 2kbps or does not even start telling me there's a network error. There is no firewall or av apps of any kind I really only use it for a few apps that are not available on OSX so it's very rarely used but if there's an easy fix I would appreciate finding out.
    Regards.

Hi, yes I followed the bootcamp guide for installing so all apple drivers came from the OSX disc, it's turning out to be fairly random now, previous downloads that were slow are now fine whilst the other's that were fine are now slow! much randomness!
IE9 is much improved yes, the gui look's pretty strange but that's maybe because im used to IE8 when on windows.
I have to mention Snow has absolutely no network problems it's only in windows bootcamp so perhaps a driver problem or compatibility problem with my BThomehub, I thought maybe someone would have come across this and there would be a quick fix but I see from browsing this part of the board there are a great many worse problems than mine with networking!
    Regards.
ps- thanks for the security essentials quick tip, been a good few years since I have used windows!
