Non Tempo-event found in sync reference

Hello everyone. I ran into a problem yesterday. I was working on a project and out of nowhere (I don't remember anything I was doing out of the ordinary) the tempo changed to 5bpm. I changed it back and kept working and when I was done I saved a new instance of the project which I normally do after substantial editing, but when I try to open the new file I get this error "Minor correction of project data has taken place. (1)" . After pressing Ok I get "Warning! Project may be damaged". Then Garageband freezes and I have to relaunch. The original file (the one I was working on when the tempo changed) gives me the error "Non Tempo-event found in sync reference", but proceeds to enter the project fine. The only problem is the tempo is still set to 5bmp and any changes made to this project appear to save fine, but when I try to open them I get the double error that I explained.
I've tried copying the contents of ProjectData to another blank file and tried renaming and saving in different locations but nothing worked.
My concerns are that I still want to do work on this project and be able to save it. At this point all I'd be able to do is work on it and finalize with a mixed down audio file. The other concern I have is that I don't want this to happen again to another song.
Anyone encounter this problem? Can't find information anywhere.

in 6+ years i have never seen, nor heard of anyone seeing this error which could suggest a random/non-recurring bit of data corruption

    big help. In our session we keep getting this problem where the song counter stops, the music keeps playing and we get an error message saying:
    Non Tempo-Event found in Sync Reference
    We looked in the tempo list and somehow there was a tempo event of 0.00 tempo in there.
    We deleted it, got the same error message, but the prob seems to be fixed.
    Apple, please fix this!

  • Non Tempo-Event Found Warning

    I'm hanging on by a learning curve thread as I score a film. Made to 59 minutes out 77, and ****..now I get this Warning Window saying: "Non Tempo-Event found in Sync Reference." I've tried to look it up in the Logic Reference Manual and here in the Logic Pro 7 discussions, but didn't find anything. Does anyone how this happened and how I could correct.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Last night I had it working great. And then this morning I wake up and load the project and now I get that warning window, AND the film audio is out of synch with the film by about 2 mintues by the end, it seems to have happened after this one section in the middle where I tried to change the tempo in the tempo bar above from 110 to 132 and then back to 110 after it, in playback I get another warning that says "Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI." In the past I did try a beat mapping to figure out the tempo of this same audio section so that I could set it correctly to put some loops in at the right tempo. Now everything is screwed up.
    Is there another place to ask these technical discussion questions, it seems that this discussion area is a lot less active than the Final Cut Pro area. Any other websites?

  • Non Tempo-Event problem

    Hi,
    I keep getting a "Non Tempo-Event Found in Sync Reference" alert, every time I try to do a tempo change, and the "Unable to sync audio and midi" afterwards.
    I am only using external midi in sync with a quicktime movie (without audio). No other audio in the project.
    (Btw. does anyone know how to turn of the vertical mouse-zoom that happens when you try to navigate in the timeline?)

    I found that in my tempo list, there was an odd event that I didn't place there, and I think that was what was causing this error message although, now my MIDI is extremely delayed, to the point where it is unplayable when composing.
    The playback is fine, but anything I play live is really delayed, and it is only in this song! It reminds me of the problems people had when trying to import some Logic 7 songs and getting delayed MIDI. It is the smae problem here, but this is a song composed entirely in L8.
    Any ideas to this new delay problem? The MIDI was fine at the beginning of this composition...

    I am getting an odd error message that says "non tempo-event found in MIDI sync reference." It doesn't appear to be causing any problems except that it pops up three times every time I try and alter the tempo. Pretty annoying.
    I happened after I got a midi snyc error from logic saying, it couldn't snyc the midi, but then it was fine on restart. Now I just get this message over and over and over again.
    Anyone know what this means and how to fix it?

  • HELP!  Deadline!  Tempo events disappear!

    I created three tempo events to sync to picture. I continue working on the tracks and at some point they all disappear! I never hit delete or anything. It happens every time. I kept the tempo list up and visible for a while to see when it was happening, everything seems fine, but eventually, when I'm lulled into a false sense of security, I'll be danged if they don't disappear again and I'm left with only one starting tempo event.
    What the heck??

    I am trying to import just onto my iMac, They are being stored in the normal location (user home folder > Movies > Final Cut Events) I am importing them directly from my cameras. I thought it might be a problem with my cameras, the format, or the importing. So I tried the same process on my MacBook Air, importing to the same location on siad MacBook Air (user home folder > Movies > Final Cut Events). The MacBook Air works perfectly, but the iMac just keeps loosing the events after quiting.
    I will see all the events in the Final Cut Events folder, but Final Cut will only show me an event named (New Event 11-28-11) and each time I open and quit the "New Event 11-28-11" keeps growing from "New Event 11-28-11 1" to "New Event 11-28-11 2" and so on. So Final Cut keeps making a new event almost like it is the first time I have opened it.

    All of my old non recurring events are gone, only current month is correct. last 7 months are gone. seam to disapper after a month. Anyway to get them back? on my icloud setting my calendar is "on" but don't know where they went

    I don't know how to do what you suggested. However, I was able to get my handheld 22 working, so all the data  thought was gone is in there. My problem now is that I purchased a new palm (e2) when i thought the other one was dead, and now i am afraid to hot sync the z22 to the new desktop, as I am afraid it will somehow wipe out the data from 2005 to present on my handheld z22. Is there any way to save that data without hot syncing? I would rather hand enter it all than risk wiping it out on the handheld as that is the only place it now exists.Thankx. Also is there a phone support number?

  • Video Scoring Woes: Tempo Events and SMPTE

    hi mate,
    what you need is what i like to call a buffer tempo event.
    in the case you illustrated it will come AFTER your gunshot.
    1. so, if you have tempo events you want to preserve AFTER the one you are editing, insert your 'buffer' tempo event before the next set of tempo events, at least 3 or 4 bars before.
    2. then double click the SMPTE field of the tempo event AFTER your newly inserted 'buffer' tempo.
    3. copy to clipboard.
    4. go back and make your tempo our smpte adjustment for the bit you are tweaking.
    5. when you have done that, go back to the tempo event AFTER the 'buffer' event you inserted. paste the smpte field back from the clipboard.
    6. the buffer event will turn into something whacky to ensure the rest of your material is in the correct place.
    remember, you won't be editing the buffer event, just supplying it for logic to do its calculations to, to make your tempi for your cue be in the right position.
    does this make sense?

  • IPhone events don't sync to iCal

    Problem Summary:
    Events created on my iPhone do not sync over to my iCal on my computer.
    Tech Specs:
    * iPhone 4S, running iOS 6.1.3
    * MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.6.8
    * Sync via cable directly onto mac (not wifi, not iCloud)
    Potentially Useful Observations:
    * Events created on iCal do sync back to iPhone; only iPhone --> iCal fails.
    * Partially edited histories of events sometimes also sync as duplicates back to iPhone (ex: on iCal on my computer I create an event "event 4" to occur at 2 pm, then I edit it to be "event 5" at 4 pm instead, then I sync my phone.  My phone will get both an "event 4" @ 2, and an "event 5" @ 4 appear in its mobile iCal app, while the iCal on my computer only retains the most recent version -- "event 5" @ 4).
    * Roughly 1/3 to 1/2 the time I try to sync, I get the following error:
    However, the phone is still connected, and I can continue to interact with it through iTunes after the failed sync.  iCal event syncing fails regardless of whether or not this error occurs.
    (Failed) Strategies I Have Tried to Fix / Diagnose the Problem:
    * Restarting iTunes
    * Restarting computer
    * Creating a new "test calendar" in iCal (it experienced the same syncing problems)
    * Trying both the "All Calendars" or "Selected Calendars" syncing options in the "Info" tab in the iTunes phone syncing menu
    * Resetting sync history through iSync preferences
    * Deleting the calendar cache file in ~/Library/Calendars.
    * Various combinations of the above (although if there is a specific combo you think would work, please let me know in case I did not try it)
    Any suggestions or pointers to other posts offering different suggestions beyond what I have already tried (I did some browsing before posting) would be greatly appreciated.

    I just encountered a similar problem after updating from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion with my old iPod touch (iOS4). Phononic's suggestion to delete the cach file in ~/Library/Calendars is close. Try this:
    - in iCal, make a backup (File>Export>Calendar Archive)
    - close iCal.
    - delete the ~/Library/Calendars directory (or rename it ~/Library/Calendars.bak)
    - open up iCal. There should be no events.
    - sync your device through iTunes. This should remove all entries on your device.
    - in iCal, restore the backup (File>Import)
    - sync your device through iTunes again. This should restore all entries.
    Seems to work so far, but haven't tested it on all my devices yet.
    In Mountian Lion, there is a trick to locate the \Library directory. In Finder, ,selct "GO", then press the <option> key. "Library" will appear in the dropdown. Calendars is in there.

  • Networkless install gives "not found in sync db" error

    I'm trying to install on a laptop which whose network drivers are not in the install kernel and which doesn't have a cd. All files have to be transferred by usb till I can get it up and running and install the drivers.
    I got the machine to boot from the network (pxeboot) and got into the install shell without any problems. On another machine I downloaded the current core iso, mounted it and copied all the packages to a usb disk which I then mounted as /src/arch/pkg on the laptop.
    When doing step 2 of the install I got an error that it couldn't find /src/arch/pkg/setup so I created that directory, the errors went away but I then didn't get any packages in the package list. I tried mounting the package disk as /src/arch/pkg/setup and then tried again. This time I got a list of packages. I selected them all and went to step 3.
    At this point it tries to access the network to refresh the package database, fails and gives me the error:
    error: 'acl-2.2.47': not found in sync db
    Looking in VT5 I get
    error: failed to retrieve file 'current.db.tar.gz' from : No such file or directory
    error: filed to synchronize current: no such file or directory
    error: filed to synchronize any databases
    Have I done something wrong? Having to create the setup directory feels wrong, I thought I just put the packages in /src/arch/pkg so I'm guessing that that may have something to do with it.
    If not, how can I get round this? Can I create a database and drop it on the machine?

    unselect ABS from the package selection and try again.
    Then install the abs package from the completed base install.

  • "Multiple Tempo Events Detected" -- Propblem with Logic and Reason

    I have just migrated from a MacBookProp to a MacPro. All seems well except for the rewiring of Reason. When I rewire, I get the error message in Logic "Multiple Tempo Events Selected" asking if I want to review the list. Since no song is open in Reason, this would appear to be some kind of glitch. Also, there is a huige amount of latency between Reason and Logic. When I have just Reason open, there is no latency at all when I play. the same in Logic when I create a software instrument. But in rewire mode, it is about half a second! Any advice and help would be appreciated.

    Update on this: the tempo issue was relegated to one project where there was a tempo change within Logic, so I apologize. But I still have a tremendous amount of latency between the two programs.

    I'll cut introductions short. We're trying to read data from a flat file (OWB ver.9.2. by the way). After successfully mapping, then generating (with two insignificant warnings), we execute.
    Although it says the execution was 'successful', more than a dozen errors return in the form of ORA-01858: a non-numeric character found where a digit was expected
    a - Here is the error:
    Record 1: Rejected - Error on table "TOPSSTAGE"."FLTR_DCS_IRREG", column "OPERATIVE_FLIGHT_LEG_DATE".
    ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected
    *it's actually repeated 20 times (Record 1, Record 2, and so on and so forth...) with the same exact error description and details.
    b - Here's the part of the OWB-generated script that defines the creation of that field/column:
    "OPERATIVE_FLIGHT_LEG_DATE" DATE "mm/dd/yyyy"
    c - And here's the data from the flat file (1 of 4 rows)

    Yes, I believe you are right. And yes that column is designated a primary key. The weird thing is, we do have null values being entered into the table from the flat file, but these values are far from the "OPERATIVE_FLIGHT_LEG_DATE" column (index-wise). Let me give you an example of our case:
    this is a row in the flat file: (sample data only)

    as you can see, I've made the 'null' values bold, as well as the data for OPERATIVE_FLIGHT_LEG_DATE (which shows up, as you can see, at the end of the row).
    Now, in the OWB table, the OPERATIVE_FLIGHT_LEG_DATE column is set as a primary key (or foreign, i think, I'll check again) and, thus, is set as one of those columns to first receive data transferred from the flat file.
    We see nothing wrong with our mask (which is mm/dd/yyyy by the way) as well as with our data type settings. It has to be with the flat file I guess. We're gonna try putting in dummy values in place of the null ones in the flat file. I'll get back to you asap. Thanks for helping out. :D

    Not sure why typing 'gimp' is bringing up 'gimpshop', but anyhoo...
    I just punched in 'http://mirrors.easynews.com/linux/archl … po/os/i686' into Epiphany and it 404's, so I'd assume it's down at the mo. Meantime, if you go into your mirrorlist and uncomment whichever 'Server = *' is closest to you (you could just do any of them, but the nearest ones will give you better performance) and comment out that bottom line.
    All going to plan, that should sort it.

  • Event applied to control references

    Hello!
    I built a VI that can run on its own or controlled by a superordinated VI. If there are valid references comming into the subordinated Vi these are used exclusivly, otherwise references to the controls of the superordinated VI are used.
    So inside my program I exclusivly use references and property nodes to access or change data.
    My first question is if you think that is a bad solution concerning the performance of the VI and if you have any improvements?
    The next problem is that my VI is quit slow now (there is a while loop checking all the time if there are changes made to the controls (via their references) and acquiring data (using RS232) and updating controls. Thereby I use a 20 frames long sequence inside the loop.
    Is that the reason for slow performence?
    To speed things up I considered to us an event structure instead of the sequence to check the changes and only to do the acquisition every cycle.
    But I don't see a possibility to use the event structure to check events on value changes of controls via their references.
    Any idea?

    With LV7, it is possible to use an event structure on control references
    to another panel. As for whether this is the reason for performance
    problems, that is hard to say without seeing your application.
    First suggestion is to use the profiler. Tools>Advancec>Profile VIs.
    It should help you start looking in the right place and run informed
    experiments.
    Another way of doing this is to send it to [email protected] and let me use it
    as part of the VI critique going on at NIWeek. We will keep the names
    anonymous and find the best technique we can for the problem you are
