Non-US Format DVD- Will it work?

Hi,
I have your standard macbook and was wondering if it would play non-us format dvds?
any help is much appreciated.

I have your standard macbook and was wondering if it would play non-us format dvds?
It will. If the region code is different, you will be asked to change the code, and it can only be changed a few times.

  • HT1338 Selecting HD DVD will this work on other DVD Players and a PC?

Is anyone aware if you select HD DVD in DVD Studio Pro 4 and then burning a DVD, the DVD will not play in a regular DVD Player or a PC.
However, it will work in the Mac Computer. I read that HD DVD will work on eairler Mac and some Toshiba DVD Players.
If this is true, has Apple corrected this problem? Thanks in advance for any info regrading this situation.
    Have a great day.

  • DVDSP4 build to Primo DVD-will it work around layer break error ?

I tried to create layer breaks because under the build option automatic won't burn and manual breaks are greyed out. so i can't burn and i need to get this done before sunday. the build to my hard drive works perfectly and if i test the DVD video folder using DVD player, it works great. If I move the Video & Audio DVD folders to my PC and use Primo DVD and burn a DL disc, will the layer break errors in DVD Studio Pro cause problems during the playback of a disc burned with Primo DVD? Basically, will these DVDSP4 errors carry over no matter what burning program I use; Toast, Primo, Record Now??

(I also mentioned this just now in the other thread just in case)
Anyway you will need a proper break point, not sure (have not used) Primo so do not know if it will throw a break point in somehow or not, but if you go to the above thread works through the issues for you

  • How do I find out if my 'non apple' paid apps will stop working when I upgrade to iOS 5?

I have downloaded apps from both apple and other developers.
I have paid for some of these apps.
Since there are numerous apps that I use, is there a generic way to know for sure on whether the apps will still work when I upgrade to iOS5?

Unless the problem was caused by abuse or other accidental damage, Apple will exchange your in-warranty iPod with a refurbished one at no cost. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store for the exchange.

  • Burned DVDs will no work with PC

My PC reads all other DVDs fine. My burned DVD I made with iDVD plays fine on my MAC and also plays fine in regular DVD players. However, my PC won't even recognize my iDVD-made disc. I also tried it on a friends PC, same thing, won't even recognize it. It's like it's not even there. Does apple just rig everything not to work with PC or what is the deal?

No it's not "rigged". Nor is apple proprietary in this regard. Keep in mind the PC must have a drive capable of reading a DVD-R, and the software necessary to play and decode MPEG2.
Most macs will read and play Dvd's straight out of the box. Not always the case for most PC's. Real Player and Windows Media Player won't necessarily play DVDs unless there is an MPEG2 codec present in the system. I searched this topic over the internet and found what I think is a relatively good answer in spite of the fact the title of the article is misleading since there is no such software as "iDVD HD". At least not to the best of my knowledge (unlike "iMovie HD").

  • Non-Cumulative value Infoset will not work

Why doesn't an Infoset work with non-cumaltive values? Can I just use a multiprovider to get around this issue?

    Hi,
Non cumulative values are not stored anywhere in the database. These are just definitions which are calculated at runtime. Consider the Stock cube. It has 2 key figures. Received stock and issued stock. It also has a Non cumulative Kf total stock which is defined as inflow : Received stock and outflow : issued stock.
At Query runtime, the total stock is calculated as inflow - outflow. No data is physically stored in your database.
Since an infoset joins values stored in a database, you will not be able to use it for Non cumulative values.
What you can do is find your Non cumulative KF definition, and map the input fields for this KF. You can then try and use these fields to calculate the value as a formula.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.

  • Mac Mini Install DVD - Will it work on other Intel Macs

Will this DVD install onto my Mac Pro?

The DVD might boot on the Mac Pro but if it does the installer will not let you install on the Mac Pro.
There is a possible workaround that is often used, and at one point in the past was even recommended as a solution by Apple.
Boot the Mac Pro in FireWire Target Disk Mode.
Connect the Mac Pro via FireWire to the Mac mini.
Boot the Mac mini from the DVD
Install on to the Mac Pro hard disk which will show up as a FireWire external drive.
Boot the Mac mini from the Mac Pro drive which will show up as a FireWire external drive. You can do this by holding down the Option/Alt key.
Run the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Server Combo update.
    Shutdown the Mac mini.
Power down the Mac Pro by pressing briefly the power button.
Disconnect the Mac Pro from the Mac mini
Boot the Mac Pro as normal.
Hopefully it will boot normally but now with Mac OS X 10.6.8 Server installed on it.

  • Factory recovery dvds will not work. hp g62t vu636av

    windows 7 home premium 64bit
it's been so long i dont remember how/when this started.  it was either a windows update or a hp total care update, after the update my computer would load the hp logo bios screen then would either say boot mgr missing or no bootable device. i got out my factory recovery dvds and ran them.  it would read the disksload the files but when writing them onto the hdd it would stop at 12% i tried it a number of times with the same result.  then i found a win7 disk of the same release, loaded a fresh copy of win 7 and it worked great.  then my computer did a few updates and the exact same thing happened, no bootable device, etc.  called hp customer care. they decided i needed new recovery media.  did not work.  same 12% result.  hp decided it was a hdd issue.  they sent me a new hard drive, and new recovery media.  same 12% result with new hard drive and new recovery media.  i have no idea what to do now.  help.

If all has been replaced except the system board then it is time to contact warranty services again.

  • Dvd player wont work

When ever i put in a dvd it just ejects it with no message, no nothing. But it will play only certain ones with no problem. What could it be?

    i have the same problem...
i have a G4 500mhz AGP mac with an internal CD/DVD player (not burner) and i have an external LaCie CD/DVD burner
i've had NO problem reading disks until just about a week ago.. i had bought a new Graphics DVD and it worked the first time i put it in the DVD player... the second time it would not work... so, i thought i had just bought a faulty DVD, but they replaced it and it still will not work at all..
the DVD will NOT work in my internal DVD player AND it will not work in my LaCie external DVD burner/player...
what i have noticed is that any DVDs i put in will mount as long as they have a silver surface.... if the surface is purple-ish, those are the one's that will not mount
even DVDs that i have burned on the external LaCie DVD burner will not mount in the internal drive OR the external drive...
as i said, all of the DVDs that will not mount are the one's with a purple-ish surface... maybe that has something to do with the problem....

  • Superdrive dvd will not play

I insert a dvd into my USB superdrive (attached to my iMac) and I can hear some mechanical things taking place then the dvd is ejected.
the last thing I was doing was running a dvd writing program on a Windows VM with some Clone DVD software writing to disk.  I left the machine to run on its own and when I returned the next morning I saw that the write had failed.  My iMac was running very slowly.  Initially my super drive would not accept any disks but after reboot the problem "disappeared".
Now none of my DVDs will play.

Disconnect the drive, reset the SMC and PRAM reconnect and see if it helps.

  • Windows media player will not work as no DVD driver

Had to format disk (trojan) & reinstall Windows XP home. Now Windows media player will not work as no DVD Driver, can I download from Toshiba site?

    Hi
Usually the Windows media Player is not able to play DVD movies IF no plug-ins were installed.
To watch DVD movies you can use the programs like WinDVD or PowerDVD.
Such programs were designed especially for the DVD playing!
But you can also visit the Microsoft website and search for plug-ins for Windows Media player.
Then you could download and install it to play DVD with WMP
    Best regards

Yes the Mac can read that drive but you would need to Copy the data off of it to the Mac as apposed to Move, which implies Deleting them from the drive as they were transferred from the external to the Mac. Since the Mac can Not Write to NTFS drives it can't Delete anything as that is really a Write operation, IE Making changes to the NTFS formatted drive.
Once you have that Data on Both your New Mac and you Older Windows PC you can format that drive to work on both system.
If you want to and plan on doing that post back and I'll explane how, it is simple but should be done on a Windows PC.
If you only plan on using it on the Mac from now on that is fairly simple also and is done on the Mac, Once you have the files from it stored on the Mac.
Yes you could burn those photos to DVD but that is just a waste of DVDs, you don't need to.

  • My DVR security sofware that I access remotely uses a "dvr .ocx" file....when I try it in Firefox , either the latest non beta (3.6.1.5) or the new beta version (4.0 rc) it will NOT work as it says the plugin is missing... it works in IE 8,but not IE9...

My machine is Top of the range (my Company builds them so it had better be :) )
    Amd 1100t , 8gb ram , Windows 7 64 bit etc, etc...
The is not a hardware problem , but a software problem with FF...Any help would be appreciated as I hate using IE 8 for anything at all :( but I have to keep it on my machines just to run my remote security cameras at my Computer shop ???
Original question...as question length is limited ...not very bright that limit by the way :(

As I own a Computer company I am fairly computer literate but cannot find a plugin that allows this to work in Firefox.... but I would have expected it to work in the new Firefox :(
    All the best, Brett :)

The longer this thread continues, the more ancillary comments you throw in that aren't directly pertinent to your problem with your DVR software not working with Firefox 4.0. Sorry, I don't intend to continue with this discussion.
I do agree that ''something'' needs to be done better with regards to plugins for Firefox, but I do disagree with you as to whose responsibility that ''something'' is.

  • HT4648 So if you import a numbers document from a mac to iPad which has a conditional format rule such as a cell with a score between 1-10 fills with the colour black will still work on the iPad? Not being able to edit it just means you can't change this

I want to use numbers on my iPad mini for a team I coach. I have a spreadsheet on my mac I want to import onto the iPad mini for players to enter in wellness ratings. On this spreadsheet (on the mac) I have a conditioning formatting rule that when a player enters in their numbers the cells fill with black so others can't see their entries (to maintain privacy). Will this function import across onto iPad numbers? From the discussion I saw on this site it only partly answers my question stating "it cannot be edited" does this mean the conditional formatting rule cannot be changed and therefore will still work or the whole spreadsheet can't be edited and you can only view the spreadsheet and make no new entries to it?

Yes, I have posted this thread to different forums after I realized that Lenovo "customer care" is not likely to help me out and even wirelessforums.org members couldn't come up with any ideas for days, that's why. I have already written that helper applications like SMAC (or etherchange or macshift) don't work, because they do the same thing in the system as I change it in the driver panel, so they use the same method which simply does not work.
Locked? Definitely not. If yes, why can I change the MAC of my adapter under Ubuntu Linux using b43 open-source driver if it's really locked? Or you mean it's locked from software, because Lenovo or Broadcom didn't want their users to change their MACs or they just forgot to release a fully-functional driver? Well, then I would like to have a driver in which it's not locked, because this is a basic feature of my adapter of which the hardware is capable.
I have already contacted Broadcom, see their (automatically-generated) answer in my initial post, but I will try to do that again with more foresight.

  • I upgraded to Mountain Lion yesterday, but since doing so I find that my 1Password app will not work. I have checked for 1Password updates but there are none. Is there a compatibility issue

I upgraded to Mountain Lion yesterday, but since doing so I find that my 1Password app will not work. I have checked for 1Password updates but there are none. Is there a compatibility issue

Hmmm...I'm using 1Password Version 3.8.20 (build 31499) with a fresh install (scrape and pave) of Mt. Lion on my iMac and it's working fine.
I use Dropbox to sync 1Password so for my fresh install I simply downloaded 1Password from Agilbits website and installed it.
Have you tried reinstalling 1Password?  Depending on how you purchased it, download it from their website or from the Mac App store to reinstall/replace it.  (IIRC v3.8.x comes directly from Agilbits and v3.9 from the Mac App store.)  You shouldn't have to uninstall it, the new download should overwrite the existing copy.
As with anything else, be sure to run a  backup first!
