Non-value plant issue?
Dear Experts:
I have set a non-value plant (Only control the quantity. When Define Attributes of Material Types, I only check Qty updating in the corresponding valuation area ).
I try to create PO and SO in the plant , but there are some error messages .
In PO, system wants me to assignment account. I try to account assign category U to create the PO , and there is still erro Unknown account assignment not defined for use here
Message no. ME069
In SO , system want me to input net value and pricing , but i have already maintain the selling price.
I want to know if I can create transaction in non-value plant (SO and PO ) and how to do them.
Thanks .
Gary
Hi
There is no scenario like non value plant.
In standard SAP there are 2 valuation levels 1) company code and 2) plant. SAP always recommends to set plant as a valuation level becoz the material valuation takes place at plant level.
In your case you have set qty update indicator at Material Type & plant combination it does not mean that you have set the non value plant. SAP has the standard material type as UNBW - Non valuated material which you can use it. But this is a consumable material and you have to maintain account assignment category like cost center in your PO.Acc *** category U is not allowed in std PO.
Hope you are clear now.

Stock transfer between Excise Plant and Non Excise Plant
Scenario : Stock is imported from say Singapore. One of the import duties can be claimed back as CVD and pass the benefit to customer.
Requirement : Stock transfer between Excise Plant and Non Excise Plant
Question : i) If I do stock transfer from Excise plant to non-excise plant, can I transfer the CVD amount which I captured in RG23A - Part1/Part 2?
ii) If I do stock transfer from Non- Excise plant to Excise plant, can I get the benefit of CVD and pass on that benefit to customer?
Pls let me know the possiblity of above two in SAP and Legally?
thanks in advance
SrideviOk! Thanks for the replies. Pls let me allow to elaborate the earlier requirement.
Trading Goods say A gets imported to India. Issue was :
1) We need to issue Excise invoice only to few customers. So, we thought of treating one batch as excise batch and remaining as non excise batch per day.
2) Stock price varies every day being batch wise produced in say Singapore.
Means Mateiral is A but price varies evey day and because of the duty payment also gets varied. For a single material master we do have different prices for each batch and also excise/non excise scenario. So, how can I get material value for each of this combinations in the system and how to identify the same.
Because of the above reasons, we thought of having two plants. I can not configure depot here because cleint requires single plant for each state as of now.
Am I clear? If not, pls let me know,
regards

Excise duty not loaded onto inventory for non excisable plant
Hello
I am facing a problem in excise duty flow. I have two plants, one excisable and second non excisable. one vendor is supplying the material to both the plants, so vendor is sending the invoice having BED, ECess & SECess for both the plants.
For excisable plant all the duty values are flowing correctly, but for non excisable plant BED is getting loaded onto inventory.
For non excisable plant, I have maintained conditions records al plant level for JMIP (BED Inv %), JMX2 (A/P BED Inv), ZECN (IN:ECess Inv %), JEC2 (ECess Inv Total), JSEI (IN: A/P SECess Inv), JHX2 (IN: SECess Inv Total).
During MIRO, BED is not getting loaded onto inventory, while ECess & SECess is getting loaded to material.
Pl suggest, where to check the settings or any settings for condition types, tax procedure etc.
Thanks & regards'
Manoj GuptaHi,
The system behaviour of posting to stock account is controlled by account key NVV. Go to OBQ3, in your tax procedure TAXINN (or copy of that procedure) check for the condition types which account keys are assigned.
System will never discriminate that BED is not getting inventorised but ECess and Hcess on BED get inventorised.

Stock transfer to Non-Excisable Plant
Hi All,
I need to confirm the understanding for this scenario. Our client is doing stock transfer from manufacturing unit to non-excisable plant (same company code) but they do not update RG23D register. they post excise invoice during such stock transfer to non-excisable plant but when they sale from there to customer , they do not pass on any excise duty. I could see numerous threads for STO in CIN but they are all with Depot sale with RG23D getting updated. Am I missing something or is there a way to handle this in SAP?
Thanks
BinitaHi Binita,
There are two types of scenarios in case of STO's from manufacturing plants to depots.
1. STO from manufacturing plant to exciseable depot:
From sending plant PO->DELIVERY->PROFORMA BILLING DOCUMENT->EXCISE INVOICE.
From receiving plant(Exciseable depot) GOODS RECIEPT->CAPTURE EXCISE(RG23D REGISTER UPDATION)->SALES ORDER->DELIVERY DOCUMENT->DISTRIBUTE EXCISE(DEPOT EXCISE INVOICE & RG23D UPDATION)-> BILLING DOCUMENT.
2. STO from manufacturing plant to non exciseable depot(e.g Ware house or CFAs)
From sending plant PO->DELIVERY->PROFORMA BILLING DOCUMENT->EXCISE INVOICE.
From receiving plant(Non exciseable plant) Goods receipt will be done & the duties will be inventorized in the purchasing price. No need to update any registers. Excise values will be loaded on to the material cost.
Hope its clear now.

Material transfer procedure from Valuated Plant to Non- valuated plant
Material transfer procedure from valuated plant to Non valuated plant through MIGO - MVT. 303 (Remove from Storage ) & reveiving through MIGO - Mvt. 305 (stock in Place )
By using above method can we indetify stock of same material in cost centre wise and WBS - Project - code wise in MMBE.Hi
same material but Qty. wise post in defferent project code (two or three ) and cost centre. but in MMBE we can see only Qty. not project code wise or cost centre wise.
After few days If we want ot issue mateiral against Prioject then how can we identify the project code. -
Excisable and Non Excisable plants for the same customer and same material
Hi All,
We have a customer who purchases the SAME goods from two different plants, one plant is Excisable and another plant is Non Excisable. So sales area of the customer is same for both the plants. When customer buys from Excisable plant Excise Duties should applicable and when the same customer buys from Non Excisable plant Excise Duties should not be applicable. If I maintain the Excise indicator as 1 in customer's J1ID then Excise Duties are applicable for the customer from wherever he buys the goods.(If he buys the goods from Excisable and Non Excisable plants Excise Duties are flowing).
So, my query is: if the customer buys from non-Excisable plant, Excise Duties should not flow.
So I am planning to create a new sales org for Non Excisable plant, then the sales area of the customer will change.
Is there any other way to over come this issue? Plz guide me.
Thanx&Regards,
RAMUDear Ramu
My suggestion is creating a new sales organization is not required just to fulfill this excise requirement.
Let us assume you have two plants
- 1000 is excisable and
- 2000 is non excisable
for material ABC
Now go to J1ID, select the tab "Material and Chapter ID combination" and maintain the excise tax indicator for plant 1000 only.
By doing so, while creating sale order, you input the delivering plant and based on the settings you maintained in J1ID, excise duty will be determined in that sale order.
thanks

STO from excisable plant to non excisable plant
Dear Experts,
STO process from Excisable plant to non excisable plant(godown) which is non excisable , So i want to transfer material through sto with out going excise invoice , plz let me know the whole process with configuration. one thing in the receving plant all excise dutys has to be inventriozed , how to deal with excise part in this case , plz give me some helpful answer with step by step.Hi,
1)First maintain Nondeductible taxcode for BED , Cess, Shecess.
2)Maintain respective condition records in FV11.
3) Create STO from receiving plant ( non excise registered plant)
4)Create dleivery for this PO in your issuing plant.
5)Post goods issue.
6)Create excise invoice for issuing plant through J1iin
7) Create Billing document for the same( You have to create new billing type for this purose and copying control for adding excise components into cost of product in Billing has to be taken care Ex: VTFL)
8) Receive goods at receiving plant ( the ED components get inventorized)
Hope this will help you.

Hi
I have cross plant issue. Mat1 is delivered from Plant1, but getting procured from Plant2. So SPK is maintained in Plant1 for Mat1. Now when Mat1 is added into a network activity with Plant1, system created a reservation in Plant1. On MRP run system is creating PR in plant1 and not Plant2. But as I mentioned the procurement action is done in Plant2. How to do?
Pls note that when the same Mat1 is part of bom for header material in Plant1, system is creating reservation in Plant2, thus creating a PR in Plant2 by MRP run. No problem in this case.
We are using SPK as withdrawing from other plant not Stock transfer process.Hi,
The problem, apparently, is with MRP2 view of the material master. The material obviously is assigned to both the plants Plant1 & Plant2.
MRP2 view - Plant 1:
Procurement type -F (external procurement)
Special procurement (value should be entered which will trigger procurement from Plant2. You can ask your MM conultant as to what value to be filled in your scenario)
MRP2 view - Plant2
Procurement type -F (external procurement)
Special procurement (blank)
This should solve your problem. If so, pl close the thread.

Loading Excise from excisable plant stock to non exciseable plant inventory
Hi Experts,
I have seen all threads on SDN related to this but now i am writing my requirement. when i am transfering stock from Excisable plant to non excisable plant within same company code i want to load the excise on inventory on non excisable plant. for E.g i am transfering stock of Rs.100 + 8Rs excise from excisable plant i will book 8 Rs is excise account and want to recieve stock of value Rs 108 on recieving plant. Kindly suggest me for this.
Thanks in advnceHi,
Go to M/06, create new conditions by copying FRA1 for BED, ECS SECS stc. Now go to your stock transfer pricing, add these conditions after P101 & freight conditions.
Now while create STPO in ME21, maintain condition rate say 8,2,1,%.
When you will do PGI in VL02N, this excise amount will get inventorised in receiving plant.
Note that duties will get inventorised only if, price control of that material in receiving plant is 'V' else it will go to PRD account.

Vendor consignment VS non value material
hi,
what is vendor consignment?
if customer provide part of material for finish product, should i use non value material or vendor consignment? pls advice
thanksvendor consignment stock is OWNED by your vendor until you use it. Then you transfer vendor consignment stock to own stock, which is usually valuated with the price from the consigment info record. This creates a liability to your vendor.
If your customer provides you material, because you are his subcontractor, then you should create a material of type UNBW non-valuated. -

Sean's comment, above, speaks to an issue that is causing some concern
within my (large - 180 projects in development) organisation.
May I please ask the forum if there are others out there who have an
understanding of / concern with this "problem"?
My perception (quite possibly flawed) of the "problem" is that the RDBMS
cannot multi-thread data access objects. So we find ourselves in a situation
where we can achieve scaleability in just about all other
performance-sensitive areas of a system's technical architecture (we're
using DCE -- but have found that Encina is not advisable except where there
is a true requirement for heterogeneous distributed 2 phase commit, which we
don't often see.....) but when we go to hit on the RDBMS, we go back to good
ole single-threading.
In certain circumstances, this shortfall of RDBMS technology -- I won't
mention any names, of course, but the initials are "Oracle" -- seems to be
hindering our achievement of a desired technical architecture.
Is this a "Pro*C / PL/SQL stored procedures" problem or is it something that
is in the RDBMSs' DNA?
How can we get around it?
Any comments?
Regards

I agree. But it is the best solution within the constraints of existing
technology. At least we don't use a process per client. 10 replicated
copies of a service could service the needs of 100 clients.

Thanks for your response. Yep. I realise that the issue I've presented is
clearly not something that Forte causes or is responsible for in any way.
Forte can, as you've pointed out, actually help in this area. But I don't
think that getting Forte to spawn another instance of a data access server
is really the best solution. Ie, that's not what we tend to have in mind
when we think about "scaleability". The best solution is -- perhaps -- to
get the RDBMS people to thread-safe all code and libraries. I have pointedly
asked Oracle for a position on this -- and got the usual blank stare.
I also considered whether people might get upset at me for posting what is
clearly a non-Forte-specifc question in a Forte forum. But then I went ahead
and did it anyway. Justification being (assumption follows) that the kind of
people who hang out on the Forte forum may tend to be more
architecture-oriented than your run of the mill VB / SQL*Net / PL/SQL stored
procedures kinda guy/gal, and may be using or considering Forte (plug for
Forte follows) precisely because it clearly enables a superior architecture.
Should proably post to the comp.database.oracle forum, but I just don't know
them as well.

Any comments?Jon,
Go ahead ask the Forum any questions you want. This "problem"
is not a problem in Forte. What we allow you to do is "replicate" your
data access services so that each one runs inside its own
process. Each one of these processes (aka partitions) has its
own connection to the database. The routing to the replicated
partitions is transparent to the clients. Clients send a
message like "DatabaseService.GetCustomer()" and then the Forte
router sees which replicated copy of the service is not currently
processing a request and routes it to that free replicate. You
can dynamically increase or decrease the number of replicated
copies of the service easily.
We call this feature "load balancing" in Forte. It is achieved
by checking a box in the data access service object definition.
You can dynamically increase/decrease the number of replicates
and also dynamically move replicates to other nodes in the environment.
This approach assumes that you are using application driven
security and not database security. Each replicated copy
of the service is using the same generic username/password
to connect to the database.
I am forwarding this answer to forte-users because others
might not completely understand this feature.

How to track non-valued customer owned inventory, including retained
How to track non-valued customer owned inventory, including retained samples
Dear Paddy
As for as inventory is concerned, you can track through MB51 where you can see customer code and delivery reference.
In case of samples, if you have maintained a separate order type / billing type and raised commercial invoice, you can track through VF05 by selecting "Further selection criteria".

STO between Excisable and Non Excisable Plant
Dear All,
If the material is transfer from Excisable plant to Non excisable plant, then what should be the accounting entries.
In my case the material is transfer from excisable plant with duty payment and the corrosponding excise has to be accrued on the stock in non excisable plant. Please suggest how to get it done.
Thanks
AkshayDear,
The material from excisable plant goes with excise invoice. And while doing the STO (PO) from Non excisable plant i don't know how much excise amount to be accrued on stock, which know only at the time of goods receipt. So i can't make the delivery condition for Excise amount
So please suggest how to get it done. Earlier solution look helpful. Can anybody please elaborate in details?
