Non-working Applications after download

I've upgraded to iTunes 7.7, downloaded the iPod Touch 2.0 software and have downloaded several Applications. However, when I try to sync the Applications, I get the "an unknown error has occurred 0xE8000013". In addition, when I click on the Application icon on the Touch screen it attempts to open up the Application, but it "freezes" then kicks back out to the main Touch screen. Anyone having any issues like this?

I am having the same problem! ***? How many problems is this new 2.0 and apps going to have. I have been setting this up since 10 and have not even got one app working.
Wifi is working. Tried to restart and that did not work.
Clicked on the Pandora icon on my main screen. It shows the Pandora page but then kicks back to my main screen. Anybody have any clues? I am about to toss this POS out into my backyard!

How to relaunch application after download?

I have lanuched an webstart application form the internet and successfully run the application on my desktop, but once I close the app it is gone. I have no desktop shortcut to get to it again. How can I access my downloaded apps after download? Remember I have no desktop shortcuts to webstart or the app.

I have used Andrew's advice to install shortcuts, and they work fine. (desktop, start menu, icon image and running)
The impression I got from jnlp documentation was that I could have this done automatically, with out the user having to repeat such steps.
Is this possible?

Control Center worked once after downloading iOS 7, now it's not working at all.

I downloaded iOS 7 to my iPhone 5. The Control Center worked once and then stopped. I can't access it from the lock screen or apps, even though both are enabled in Settings. When I double-click the home button when the phone is locked, nothing happens, and in the lock screen, I can see the bar at the bottom to show where to swipe up, but there's no response when I swipe. I didn't change any settings that I know of, and can't figure out how to fix this problem. I really like the Control Center and want to use it!

My iPad 2 front camera stopped working soon after updating to OS7; coincidence or not I don't know, but once again, since so many others have this problem, I think Apple should take ownership of this issue and come up withy a real fix. I'm tired of hearing 'reboot' as a cure all. Same goes for non-functioning SIM problem still not addressed by Apple.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Problems Logging in Client Application after Download and Setup

I'm having trouble running the desktop Client x64 bit Client application for the Primavera (P6) Version 7 Project Management program. Throughout the entire download and configuration process, I have written down all user names and passwords needed.
Once installed, I attempted to log in to the software with both "admin" and "system" usernames (along with my password configured during my registration with the E-Delivery Oracle software. The default database provided is "ORAPMDB".
After attempting there, I went through the user guides that came with the zip file(s) and ran through the "Getting Started Guide" for Oracle Database Express Edition (Oracle Database XE), which included signing in as the database administrator and setting up a sample user profile (username "hr", password "hr") and creating my first application. I have no idea what the significance of having an "application" created has on logging in to Primavera, but the "Stand Alone V7.0.0.0.3." PDF guide suggested I run through that process and obtain a database username and password before launching the Project Management Module. Of course, none of the usernames or passwords used in the Oracle Database XE program work with P6.
Has anyone run in to this similar issue before? Any help would be much appreciated.

It sounds as if you ran a stand-alone P6v7 installation... Did you try username = "admin" password = "admin" when logging into the P6 client?
What is the exact error message you receive? Invalid login or unable to connect to the database?

Accidentally deleted x protect meta.plist and plug in not working even after downloading latest

Hi all
Need some help here. It started off like this - after upgrading to mavericks, i had a problem viewing some java stuff. Googled and read somewhere to delete the x protect meta.plist and thus, did so. After doing that, my youtube videos etc all couldnt work. So googled again and did whatever the rest suggested - download latest version of Java, uninstall java and reinstall again, install other versions of java etc etc. all didnt worked.
Someone just pointed out that I had deleted a very critical security file (x protect meta.plist) and might have more problems that I thought on my hand.
Im not very technical or IT saavy, so please kindly advise. Most of the problems surfaced after deleting that file. And right now, plug in for videos are still not working even though I have attempted various 'solutions' suggested in this forum (the not too technical ones) and java is still cranky. Pls advise. thanks!

- Tried uninstalling and then reinstalled earlier versions of java - doesnt work too
read somewhere to delete the xprotect meta plist - realised much later that piece of advice was for snow leopard OS and thus, did not work too. A forummer told me today this file is a critical security file and i should not have deleted it. WHat can I do now?

For further assistance, I will need to know some additional information:
The Product/Model Number of your printer. Follow instructions in this link. Finding Your HP Product Model Number.
If the printer is able to make copies.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.

Safari Will Not Work Even After Downloading New Version

Several months ago I experienced a brief power outage and since then Safari has not worked. At All. I have downloaded Safari twice directly from the Apple site and still no luck. THe Software Restore disks with my original OSX package do not seem to work. Any suggestions?
Been using Firefox but there are some things I prefer about Safari (bookmarks and they way they are handled).

I clicked on a link in my email this morning and safari opened and then it opened 73 other tabs (I think all my bookmarks). I closed it and when I reopened I get the title bar and beachball not a new page. Activity monitor shows it is using 100% cpu. If I open safari from a link in email it opens normally. I downloaded and installed the latest (same) version from apple, same story. Thank god firefox still works ok. Any ideas? James.

Non functioning application after use of installer

I have a compiled vi that works as specfied. Specifically, it reads and writes to an ini file and makes library calls from a third party just fine.
If the application is "installed" using the installer, then the ini write and read functions don't work and there seems to be some problem with the third party library funtion call. Is there the application modified somehow by the installer? What are some things to check to identify the source of the problem?

Errr... no, the application is not "modified" by the installer. What would make you think this? The most likely issue you are having is a path issue. Or perhaps an access rights issue. Where is this config file that you are trying to read/write? Is it relative to the application? If so, have you checked to make sure the path is correct? If it's correct, have you checked if you have access to it? What is the "problem with the third party library function call"? Is it related to the config file? Is it something else? What is the error?

HT1688 iPhone stuck in non stop reboot after downloading iOS 6

I was finished downloading iOS 6 on my iPhone and it restarted and started installing. Over half way through the installation the phone crashed and then started to constantly go to the apple logo and crash and repeat. It won't sync up with iTunes no matter what I do! I have absolutely no idea how to fix this and it is making me VERY angry! I've only had this for less than 2 weeks!

Scan doesn't work after downloading Windows 10

After downloading Windows 10, scanning will not work on my HP Officejet Pro 8620 all in one printer. I used HP Print and Scan Doctor program and it stated that it fixed my scanning problem. However, when I attempt to scan I get a message that says it cannot find the application to support the selection. BTW...I have also unistalled and reinstalled the driver for this printer thinking it might been to "reconnect" in some way with Windows 10. On another note, by DVD drive now doesn't work either after downloading Windows 10. HELP !!

Try the following step's, i believe it will help you overcome the issue.
1.Start by dissconnecting the USB cable.
2.Remove the Printer Driver from the "Devices and printer's" which can be found in the control panel.
3.Download this file (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL48430/al-117537-4/DJ1510_188.exe) which is the full solution for the HP Dj 1510 series.
4.Extract the contents from within the file.
5.Open up the "Utils" Folder and within choose the "x64" folder, Inside you should be able to spot a File called "RemovePreInstalledDrivers" >> After you will open that file a Black screen will open, Wait for it to close then move to the next step.
6. Go back to main folder where you have already extracted the software and Right click on the x64.msi file (Name will most likely consist your printer model) and choose the "Repair" Option. >>Afterwards you will be prompted to preformed a restart. (Incase you will get a Messege saying "This action is only valid for products that are currently installed" Just double click the file instead)
7.After the restart, Head into Local Disk C/ProgramFiles/HP/PrinterModelFolder/bin/USBSetupLuncher and double click it.
8.Follow the steps shown to you and connect the USB cable when you are asked to.
That should add the scanner to Your imaging devices.

Catalyst Control Center stopped working properly after widows update

When I let Windows Update install the newest catalyst control center driver I could not open catalyst control center so I tried to do a system restore but it failed because It said my anti virus was preventing this with the error code 0x80070005.I first tried to disable the anti virus shields and restore didnt work. Then I uninstalled the anti virus and went to safe mode but it gave my the same error. Now Catalyst Control Center opens but the only feature available is HydraVision. I still cannot change the picture and graphics settings because they are not there to select in CCC.

My mac wont let me open an application after it download

so once i have downloaded an application such as a music download site it successfully downloads but when i try to open it to install it this is exactly what it says(Safari can’t open the file “BlubsterSetup.exe” because no available application can open it.) blubster is the name of the site i tried to download...and then when i click help this is what pops up..
#1.Safari can open a downloaded file only if it's in the download location specified in the General pane of Safari preferences. If you move the file or change the download location after downloading a file, Safari cannot open it.
#2.Safari can open a downloaded file only if there is an application available to open it. Mac OS X includes applications that open many types of files including text, image, sound, and PDF files. However, to open some files you might need to install the application used to create the files on your computer.
#3.The file is still downloading. Wait for the file to finish downloading, then try opening it.
The file didn't finish downloading because you stopped the download. Resume downloading the file, then try opening it.
The file didn't download completely because of a problem or the file was damaged. Try downloading the file again.

.EXE files are not very easy to open on Macs with Mac OS X 10.4.3 or earlier. They typically require an emulation program to run Windows.

Newer Macs are more capable of running Windows, and can do so natively. You can attempt to find a 10.3.9 compatible alternative compatible application as well. Audio and video files don't play very well on emulation, but work fine in Windows native compatible Macs.

When I go to that link, download and then attempt to install I get the message "Webe encountered the following issues, Installer failed to initialize. Please down load Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem" I then select the link "get adobe support advisor" that takes me to a site that describes a better support link since the one I have been sent to is no longer available. I then go to that site and am told to go to CC for desktop apps, that requires me to download CC... I don't want CC.. just want to have my CS6 PS work again.... so frustrating...
