Non-XI HTTP Communication with non-sap system

Hi ,
We have a requirement to send OM related data to a non-sap system using HTTP post in XML format and receive the response from that external system. We are on ECC 6.0 and we cannot use XI at this time.
What would be the correct approach to do this? I read that we could use ICM for HTTP communication am I on the right track?

What setup do we need for this ?
We are on ECC 6.0. I am trying to run the program, I am getting http_communication_failure = 1 in the receive function.
I am not sure if I am missing any authorizations/setup.

Loading non-standard Hierarchies from an external Sap System

Hi experts,
We are trying to load a hierarchy of a non-standard characteristic from an external Sap System. From what we know till now, we can't create a Generic Datasource to load hierarchies, so the only way is to use a File Datasource (csv file, for example) to load it.
Is that true ? Is there any way to load a non-standard hierarchy from a Generic Datasource ?

It's a customized hierarchy with Z tables.
No way, other than flat file. Maybe I can use an ABAP report to create a flat file with the hierarchy, reading the data of the R/3 system with native-sql, and then, launch the load with this file stored in the BI SAP.
I mean:

flat file (csv) (BI SAP) <-- ABAP Report (BI SAP) <--
hierarchy tables (R/3 SAP)
We want an automatic way to load the hierarchy. Is it a good idea ?

GRC Compatible with other SAP Systems

Hi experts,
I’m trying to understand the compatibility of GRC (BRM, EAM, etc.) with other SAP systems. The question came after looking at some of the configuration from SRM since I see the GRC Plug-In component installed in the system but then I don’t see the actual plug-in on SPRO. I was looking for similar information on the GRC installation guide and Config. Guide but so far no luck. Can someone point me in the right direction? Even better if there is an official document. According to the installation guide of the latest release of GRC 10.1:
Install SAP solutions for governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) 10.1
on a standalone system as opposed to installing them along with an SAP
Business Suite or with any SAP Business Suite components such as
ERP, SCM, CRM, OR SRM.
The cause of the problem is because the SRM/APO system IMG root node is
different from SAP Basis IMG root node. So for the customizing SPRO
to show up for GRC under SRM system, you'd have to check the node as
described in note 1591667.

Why do you need to enable http communication with Basic authentication with Exchange Admin IP?

The pre-reqs for the Exchange Admin IP say you have to make a few changes on your Exchange server (2010 on prem in my case). I have a few questions about those pre-reqs and I'm not able to find documentation online to help:
Why does http communication with basic authentication for the powershell virtual directory in IIS need to be enabled? In the IP you still specify to connect over an SSL connection. The concern is what is being sent over unencrypted and what impacts are
there to the security of the Exchange server.
What role does the IP connect to (MBX/CAS/HT)? I'm not an Exchange guy so I don't know which roles install the PowerShell virtual directory.
Are there any technet pages or white papers that talk about the MS developed IPs in any more detail than basic config?

Problems Communicating with non-NI hardware which previously worked!

I am currently carrying out a project with which I am using LabVIEW 7.1 involving communication with a non-NI board. This has proved succesful until I moved the system to another desk, (which had already been done a couple of times with no problems) and now I have moved it to its origional location. The system components have not changed, and the VI has not changed but now when I run the programme the error 'Error -1073807346 occurred at VISA Open in without graph2(backup4)..vi' with the possible reason given as 'VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF000E) The given session or object reference is invalid'. I am insure what the problem may be, and have checked all connection leads, and ensured that the interface card is still securely fixed in the PC!

Valuated and Non-valuated project stock in same SAP system

Dear All,
Can we operate with the system where projects are with valuated and non-valuated project stock at the same time. If yes, are there any precautions we need to take before doing this.
Currently we are changing to 'valuated project stock' from 'non-valuated project stock' due to advantages of 'valuated project stock'. But since we are implementing this change in already stable system where projects are running with 'non-valuated project stock'. Please suggest of there are any complication with this.

Thanks for your time and efforts to share your thoughts with all of us. Hope you will not mind, did you done this kind of changes to profiles midst of the project in the past? or its your guess.
Because, many times these kind of questions comes from business to change, but we are not sure how it will affect the existing as well new projects. In such circumstances, normally we politely propose to go with two profiles rather changing the existing one since we are not sure of how it will affect.
It would be great help to all of us if you can share your experiences how the goods movement and value flows have taken in system for old projects and new projects. What kind of changes you could notice after changing profile in terms of .. a few of them
1. Goods movement
2. Consumption of production orders and internal order.
3. Settlement and RA (customer projects/ investment projects)
4. POC calcualtion of projects

Ipod all of a sudden not communicating with Bose sound system

I am having trouble with my ipod communicating with my Bose music system. First off please let me mention that I have tried all troubleshooting procedures for both the ipod and the Bose system and nothing has help. I do believe that it is a malfunction with my ipod as my spouse has an iphone and it works like a charm while connected to the Bose system. Up until about two weeks ago I was able to enjoy my music without earphones or the ipod hooked to me, now I'm back to hooking the ipod and earphones up. About two weeks ago while my ipod was connected to the Bose system it started changing songs half way through and if I tried to control it by remote, buttons on the dock or the ipod controls it would just freeze up and no sound would come out. I am unable to forward to another song, change volume or even turn it on and off while docked in the Bose system. This problem just started before that I had no trouble with this. I have the latest update for my ipod so I shouldn't be having this trouble. I have turned it on and off and the same for the Bose system and have followed all the troubleshoothing tips and nothing has been resolved. As I said before my spouse's iphone works excellent on the dock this only happens with my ipod. With that said I am still able to listen to the music with the earphones with no problems.
Another problem I have noticed is that not all my songs that are downloaded to my ipod are visiable for me to select. Certain songs I have to search for as I cannot select them from title, artist, album, etc..
Please help me as it would be nice to enjoy my music without the ipod and earphone connected to me.

Try Resetting the iPod
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs or till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

If the above doesn't work, it could be the earphone jack has been shorted, or clogged up and putting the Dock also in mute. This maybe repaired by 3rd Party iPod service.

To and fro communication between mobile & sap system

Hi,
I want to enable a function in basis system in which on locking the sap userid, user will send an sms (using mobile) to sap system (ecc 6.0). Syetem will authenticate the request and will revert as sms to same user on mobile either success with unlocking the userid and resetting the password or authentication failure message.
Is this possible to send and receive such kind of sms to and from sap system?
If yes is it possible for system to read the input data and trigger the unlock command with password reset?
please advice.

HTTP Communication with iSoft eCommerce Suite

Hello,
I am trying to establish an SSL communication link with a business partner that is running the iSoft eCommerce Suite. The business partner receives and transmits data using an AS2 engine. Unfortunately, the business partner has yet to configure a communication link using SSL. Is there anyone out there that has successfully setup a HTTPS communication link with a partner that uses iSoft eCommerce Suite? Is a third party adapter required for this type of scenario? If so, on whose system is the adapter required?

I'd suggest better raise it in he ADF forum.
However, this should be possible by calling the Arbortext functions on click of ADF form buttons. Or you may send the information to a placeholder (JMS, File, DB etc.) from where Arbortext can pick that information.

Seems like your source system is not active...
Try transaction RSA1 -> Source Systems -> select system and
click 'activate'.

I faced same issue and resolve it via below steps.
TP_ Return code: 0208 Error text: error in transport profile (parameter missing)
RZ10 --> Instance Profile --> Change Mode
DIR_TRANS=\usr\sap\trans\SUM\SUM\abap
DIR_PUT=\usr\sap\trans\SUM\SUM\abap
changed the Value
DIR_TRANS=\\HostName\sapmnt\trans
DIR_PUT=\\HostName\sapmnt\trans
Restart the SAP via sapmmc
Now APPLY the Pending SAP Note
again change the value of DIR_TRANS & DIR_PUT via RZ10 and Restart the sapmmc
tp locksys SID pf=\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_SID.PFL
tp lock_eu SID pf=\usr\sap\trans\bin\TP_DOMAIN_SID.PFL

Using as ITS instance with multiple SAP systems

Despite the recommendation of note 731679, I´m looking for some documentation or tips related to an ITS configuration to support two different SAP systems.
The note refers to "setting the relevant parameters in the service files or by using URL parameters" but I didn´t found a clear recipe.
Did someone there implement this scenario?

This works fine for a single host system (development) but when I try with a dual-host my new instance u201CBu201D reads the service files of instance u201CAu201D when I try to start an IAC. I gone through all the xml config files and canu2019t find anything wrong. I have instance B configured to use different ports then A. Separate IIS sites for each instance running on WIN2003.
How do the wGate know the correct Agate process to connect to?

Installation with other sap system

I want to know if there is any problem when installing an SAP system, a machine that already has an installed system. The likely impacts of drawbacks I should consider.

This is not as problem as long as the box has enough resources... What systems are you planning to install?... Drawbacks usually are related to the systems sharing the same DB... so basically if any maintainance is done at DB level that require a DB restart then both systems will have to go down...
Also let me mention that this is not a good scenario in a production system... but is perfectly fine in a DEV, QAS environment.

Yes.
But it has become more difficult recently.
iChat joins the AIM service and logs into their Servers.
This stems from a agreement Apple did with AIM back in the days when iChat (1) did not do Video.
Since then both sides have developed and produced variations/improvements to thier versions.
You appear to be at iChat 3.x.x
AIM has two current versions for PCs to download.
AIM 5.9 is quite old now and will Video chat to iChat although it does need a bit of setting up.

AIM 6.5 has a disclaimer on the AIM site although some people say it does work.
Whichever version the PC user goes for they will need to allow the app as an Exception through the XP or Vista Firewall (The Second of those two yellow Boxes)
In some case you will not get it to work.
You options are then the ones listed here

The first ones are other apps that both ends will need to download and install the various versions.
10 is an option to AIM on the PC but costs.

It requires you give a room a name, do the Settings to allow Flash to use you camera and Mic and then invite Buddies by telling them a Room name (URL link)
This will allow any Computer with Flash to join in the chat so PCs can do or have Multi-person Video chats.
