None of my finished idvd projects have audio, although they did in the past. Also, none of and none of the idvd themes have audio, although they always used to open with accompanying audio.

In addition to deleting the iDVD preference file delete the contents of the iDVD cache folder:
Try this basic troubleshooting fix:
1 - delete the IDVD preference file, com.apple.iDVD.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete IDVD'S cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iDVD folder.
3 - launch IDVD and try again.
NOTE: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

I'm having a small but annoying issue with FF10. In the past, I have watched a video on a website that I visited to get information on a diet for a family member. I have not visited that site since obtaining the information on the diet, but now, sometimes the audio from that video will play in the background when I am browsing with FF10. This issue has not occurred with any other browser, so far as I am aware. My first thought was that I may have a virus, but I run virus scans every day, and all of them have come back showing no viruses. I have run Norton Internet Security scan in both Safe Mode and Normal mode, all with the same result. My PC is less than a year old, and everything seems to be running smoothly, apart from this problem. It does not happen every time I open Firefox, but sometimes happens at start-up, or more rarely, after I've been browsing for a while. Apart from the repeated virus scans, I have also attempted to clear any cookies related to the site I visited. I am waiting to see if this solves the issue, but I'm wondering if anyone else is having or has had a similar issue. If you have, any help would be much appreciated.The audio of the video was annoying to listen to once, and I'm hoping I do not have to keep hearing it so often, so if you have any suggestions beyond what I have tried, I'd be extremely grateful. I also have plugged my iphone in to get updates but it says I will lose all media and apps if I don't update on the computer where I sync everything. Correct. it does not magially appear in other places. It will only be where you put it.

Correct as well. Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one. -
I have just upgraded to Mountain Lion and my signatures for my Mail are not showing up. I have the signatures inthe preference panes and selected for the email address, but when I make a new message, the signature shows as none and doesn't give me a choice. Yesterday, the signatures were stacking instead of switching to the one I wanted to choose.
I had this and fixed it.
I had upgraded to Mountain Lion and my signatures in Mail were fine. But then about a week later, I got a new computer and used Migration Assistant to copy my stuff to the new machine. Upon opening Mail, I had all the correct Signature information in the Preferences>Signatures window, but nothing worked.
After lots of hunting, I found the Signature Folder. It's in:
Yourusername>Library>Mail>V2>MailData>Signatures
Looking at my previous setup (which works) I saw in that folder two types of files: .webarchive and .siganture
Looking in my new machine's Signature folder, I saw only the .webarchive folders, not the .signature folders
Since this was literally a clone of my previous setup to a new machine, here's what I did:
1. Quit Mail
2. In Problem machine, go to
Yourusername>Library>Mail>V2>MailData>Signatures
3. Move the Signatures folder someplace safe, but out of the MailData folder
4. Get the Signatures Folder from the working install (like a backup) and copy it to the MailData folder on the problematic machine
5. Start Mail on the problem machine
This worked for me. I don't know why Migration Assistant didn't copy the full signature folder, but this fixed it. It worked perfectly partly because I had just backed up with Carbon Copy Cloner and the very next day set up the new machine. I don't know where Lion or earlier versions of mail stored signatures, but the absence of the .signature filetype seems to be the problem.

Try to reset it by holding the power an home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release. If it won't reset, you'll probably have to force it into recovery mode and restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.

The System Preferences >Security >Firewall is a incoming one and very user simple.
There is the full outgoing and incoming firewall via the Terminal
NoobProof and WaterRoof that can manage it with a GUI.
Mac's have a System Preferences > Security > General > Safe Downloads list which basically checks your downloads to make sure it's not a trojan.
That's about it for the malware checks built in, most all malware is for Windows and doesn't affect OS X, but if your passing or using Windows files, you may want to use the free ClamXav to scan them.
ClamXav is non-intrusive, other anti-malware for Mac's can be harmful as they run as root level and Apple changes things which breaks the anti-malware software and really causes more hassle than the 0 viruses Mac's get.
So most Mac users don't need to mess with the Firewall or anti-malware, best for them to leave it alone.
Though if one installs software from pirate or questionable sources then all bets are off. -

After upgrade to ios5, none of the apps will load. Touching an icon does not open the app; it just blinks and returns to the screen.
Go to the App Stor and download an app- any free app will do, it doesn't matter.
Doing this usually "resets" your device's "app awareness" and you should be able to run any app with no problem.
And no, you don't have to keep that free one you just downloaded. You can delete it if you don't want it. -
i've been getting an error when trying to play online games saying that i need to have the browser in 32 - bit mode. my browser is in 32 - bit mode but the msg keeps coming up and not running the game
I dunno, that doesn't make any sense to me.
I just shut down and rebooted into the SnowLeopard partition and took a peek at the preference panes. There are only 3 that run in 32 bit only. They are all 3rd party, and none of the prefpanes are non Intel. Like I said, I have never owned a PPC machine. Anyhow, SnowLeopard doesn't even have an iCloud prefpane, or a combined mail, contacts, and calenders prefpane, and the ML security and privacy prefpane is all new as well. The software update prefpane is Intel and 64 bit in both SnowLeopard and Lion.
As to the triple boot, unless I'm totally mistaken, what I have here is, in essence, 3 seperate descrete computers in one box. All using the same hardware. but one at a time. I wouldn't know how to get more than one running at the same time, without using a virtual machine, even if I wanted to. (Which I don't) I do sometimes transfer files from one to another using the shared folder, but other than that, they do not interact. How could ML system preferences be trying to launch prefpanes from a totally different machine? -

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again. -
After upgrading to 3.6.8 none of the extensions load even though there are updates available. The updates will not install and even though the error states to look at the console error log there are no errors listed in the log. All extensions are listed in Addons>Extensions.

iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, all have no issues at all with my Airport Extreme Base Station. Can stay connected throughout my living room, bathroom, bedroom, no issues whatsoever.
My 5 month old MacBook Pro 2.66 GHz Core i7 Airport is sometimes perfect, able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue. Then, for no reason, I won't be able to join my wireless network, or when I can join, I can't pick up an IP address. And then it will connect, pick up and IP, and then it won't browse. No real rhyme or reason to when this will happen, or when it works.
I thought that it was an issue with my MacBook Pro, but then my sister visited with her brand new MacBook Pro 2.26 Intel Core 2 Duo, and while a month ago she was able to connect, DHCP, and browse without issue, this weekend she had all of the same issues I was having.
My XBOX 360 and MacBook Pro have absolutely no issues with the wired connection. Only my WAN seems to have this issue.

I will also add that with non buffered acquisition you have to use software timing. Windows is not a real time OS, so the the timing is not accurate. But if you use buffered acquisition the timing will be controlled with an accurate internal clock on the Daq unit. I think non buffered acquisition should be avoided in most cases.
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
