Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod yet?

This should take you out of disk mode and allow the iPod to boot up as it normally does.

Apple Tv (3rd generation) says it is connected (via ethernet), but none of the app, or channels, will work. They all say they are unvailable, try again later. The only thing that seems to work is iTunes. (I live in a dorm if that helps)
Its not properly connected to the network. Most school networks require login via webpage, which isn't possible as ATV has no browser. You will need to contact the IT dept or the network provider.

my phone has switched off for the second time this week, however when connecting to itunes the restore process wont complete. the error is 2006 however i have tried a number of USB cords, and none seem to be working.
I am in the noerthern [parts of australia and accessing an apple store is not possiable for another month. this is my only soucrce or telecommunication. please helpThis is what it says about error 2006

If you experience this issue on a Mac, disconnect third-party devices, hubs, spare cables, displays, reset the SMC, and then try to restore. If you are using a Windows computer, remove all USB devices and spare cables other than your keyboard, mouse, and the device, restart the computer, and try to restore. I have several Apple products, some eligible for iCloud and some not. I was using MobileMe and elected to keep my email address after June 30. I moved to iCloud and everything seems to be working except for my MacBook that couldn't be upgraded to Lion so not eligible for iCloud. Now my email doesn't work on that machine. What's wrong?

Delete your mail account from Mail preferences and set it up again using the Mail Server Information.

The situation I would like is to have a library of step types which sequence developers can use. Therefore if new step types need to be added, or existing ones modified - all that needs to be done is to roll out a new MyTypes.ini (for example), and the code modules/substeps.
Scenarios:
If I create types in MyTypes.ini (make sure "Attach to this file" is checked, so they get saved here). I can then create a sequence file using these step types. No problem so far.
I can open the type palette, modify the step properties, and save. When I go back to my sequence file an asterisk appears (saying it needs to be saved, even if I have opened it from scratch). The properties have been updated to reflect what is in the Type Palette. Still no problem (Type versions are the same in the sequence file and type palette).
This is where the problem appears:
If I change a step type (in the Type Palette) from using a code module to using a Post-Step substep instead (changing the module adaptor to "None") - any instances do NOT update when you open sequence files. (The same happens vice versa also).
Please note that the "Type version" listed in the sequence file DOES match that listed in the Type Palette - the properties are the same but the manner in which the code modules are called is DIFFERENT! This then can lead to to runtime errors if the old code module has been deleted for example.
The only way around this is to open EVERY sequence file that contains an instance of the step type, and make sure that you have "Apply changes to all loaded instances of this type" checked in the step type properties dialog. This is is not a good solution since files could be missed, and is very time consuming if you have hundreds of sequence files!
What I need is that the Type Palette on any particular station contains the MASTER copies of each type. These are loaded whenever a sequence file is loaded and NOT retreived from the sequence file. As discussed above this seems to work when you modify properties - but doesnt work fine if you change the way in which code modules are called.
Am I doing something wrong or is this a limitation?I had a system recently containing seven sequence files, approx 20 subsequences in each, and around 10-20 steps in each sub-sequence. Every step (except for the NI non-code module types) was an instance of a step type.
Each one of these steps had an Edit sub-step and a code module called through the code module adapter.
In order to make these into "wrapped up" step types it was decided to move the code module to a Post-Step substep (as also done in the NI-IVI step types) - so that developers cannot fiddle with the code prototype or module.
In order to do this I had to open all 7 of the sequence files, make the changes and then ensure that "Apply changes in this dialog to a loaded instances" was checked. This seems to sort of work, but some steps started causing Error 17502 (System Error) when you configure them (call the Edit substep). Over the course of the past few months I have had to effectively check every instance of a type to see if it works (deleting the step and replacing it when it doesnt). Other strange things happened like some of the step type instances now have the "None" (adapter) icon associated with them - but both still work.
The idea of creating a type-def of a step type is a good one, but frustrating that it doesnt seem to fully work. Why should the sequence file also store a version of the step-type - which is what is effectively causing this problem - why not make it so that if you dont have the step types installed in the type palette - TOUGH! my ipod touch says "activation required, Connect to itunes" i restored it with on my itunes and it seems to be working again, after i tried connecting to my wifi with no luck i reset it, and again it pops back "activation required, connect to itunes" i restored again, its a non ending cycle, and it makes no sense having my ipod and i cannot connect to the internet with it, can someone please help with this issue?

The iTunes "buy" button doesn't seem to be working. I click it and nothing happens. Anyone know why? Thanks.
Apple made some sort of programming change on 12.26.12 to their iTunes system that suddenly made the Buy button non-functional specifically in the directly-out-of-the-box Snow Leopard (10.6.3). [I had Leopard, same as you, 10.5.8, and that was still working then. I installed Snow Leopard a couple of days ago to my MacBook, and discovered the Buy Button didn't work.
First step: Pull down "Software Update" from the Apple menu (that annoying thing we always ignore.) If you're using Snow Leopard 10.6.3, it'll upgrade you for free to 10.6.8, and that should solve your iTunes problem. (I don't know if there are any upgrades for 10.5.8, but unlike the other ungodly system upgrades, Snow Leopard is only $20. Because Apple is growing increasingly stupid, you can't buy it online--you have to call customer care.)

I'm bad at computers so be patient with me ... I dropped my 2.5 year old MacBook Pro from about waist height onto a concrete floor (I know!). Worst feeling in the world, especially after I had the hard drive replaced a couple weeks ago. Now the case has a little dent on the corner but no other visible damage. After I dropped it it started doing the "beep beep beep -- pause -- beep beep beep" noise, which after some googling I see is to do with something wrong with the RAM. I powered off and restarted it, and after the restart it seems to have nothing wrong with it; turned on fine, screen is fine, no error messages, no slower than usual. I checked the memory stuff in System Report and it says both sticks are OK. I also ran the "verify disk" thing to check my hard drive and got no errors.
Can somebody tell me what the odds are of this computer surviving for the next couple months? I would take it to an Apple store, but this is complicated by me being in Rwanda, which means getting my computer fixed or even looked at is highly unlikely. I've got a friend coming to visit in a week and she could just buy me a new computer and bring it over, but I really, really don't want to have to buy a new one if this one's going to work. On the other hand, I'm terrified that this one is going to up and die on me before I get back to the US in August. Still, it seems to be working OK -- but is it going to die out of nowhere? Would you buy a new computer, if it were you? Does anybody have any ideas about what might happen to this one over the next few weeks? Thanks!venicespent,
Boot into your Mavericks Recovery partition by hold down the command and R keys whilst booting. You'll see a screen that looks like this:
Click on the Disk Utility item to open Disk Utility. You should see your boot drive (usually named "Macintosh HD" unless you've changed it) in the column on the left of the screen. Select your boot partition and click on the "Verify" button. Let your Mac do it's thing - if you get green text telling you that everything seems to be OK, then your disk should not be damaged. If, however, you get red text telling you that the disk needs to be repaired, click on the "Repair" button. If the disk can be repaired, you should be good to go. If the disk cannot be repaired then the drive is damaged.
But before you do anything, make certain that you have backups!!!

I have an Ipod touch and recently added new music to my Itunes library. When I sync with the library, the new music does not show up on my ipod. The sync process seems to be working and there is still plenty of space on the Ipod for new music so I'm not sure what the problem is!
What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

I have a new ipad and everything works but can't connect to the app store. Itunes works and the wifi seems to be working but i get a blank white screen when i open the appstore. Nothing will load unter the features or charts tab so i cant download any apps. Purchased and updates tab loads fine. Any suggestions?

I have a PowerBook G4 with a non-functioning monitor. It used to work with an external monitor, but I reinstalled the OS, which cleared the display preferences and now when I restart it won't detect the external monitor. This means I can't use the computer anymore. How do I fix? I tried using the Command+F2 keyboard shortcut, but it doesnt' work. It's possible that since I reinstalled the OS, it still needs to be set up, so there's only a welcome screen (but since I can't see it I'm not sure).

The image came up on my screen saying that I need to connect my iPod to iTunes, but I have a passcode, so it won't allow me to. And I want to try and turn it off, but my touch screen doesn't seem to be working either, so I can't even turn it off since you need to "slide to power off." HELP! I'm leaving on Thursday morning for six and a half weeks, and I absolutely need my iPod with me. I was just at the Apple store today for problems I was having with ANOTHER product, and I don't really want to drive all the way out to where my nearest store is (which is not very near) if I can figure this out at home. Now it's allowing me to reboot (hold down power button and home button and restart), but every time it just comes up to the same thing: the connect to iTunes page. Which is not possible. And I refuse to restore my iPod. PLEASE HELP.

I moved my entire Iphoto Library from my Macbook Pro to an external hard drive. (Prior to this, I also copied the entire library to a different ehd, plus I have 2 other ehdrives with backups). I was trying to get more space on my hd. It has a capacity of 500GB, but was down to 70GB usable, with about 300GB used up by photos. I moved the library by going to Finder, using Command+Drag+Drop onto the new Seagate ext hard drive icon. The move seems to have worked, as the library shows up on the ehd, plus will open from there. My problem is that now my Macbook Pro shows that I STILL have only 70GB available out of the 500, and that 300GB is used up by "Backups", which it did not indicate before.
I cannot find this 300GB "Backup" in the Finder, only in the Storage info when I check "About This Mac".
I have restarted my computer, but the information remains the same. How do I reclaim the use of the 300GB? Why is it showing up as "Backups" when it used to indicate "Photos"? Are my photos safe on the external drive?

You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots. Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.

You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library. Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots. -
Creating iphoto book and can't seem to view/ work on only one page at a time.
I am creating an iPhoto book and can't seem to view/work on only one page at a time. The Navigator, that allows you to focus on a part of the page is actually 1 1/2 pages in size so 1 1/2 pages are in view when trying to work on one page. What am I doing wrong or how can I fix this. It is very distracting viewing half of a previous page when trying to create a new page and write a story to go with the related pictures.
My Navigator seems to be to large. It covers 1 1/2 pages while in the training information it shows as the size of one page. Is there a way to adjust the size of the Navigator?
You can hover the mouse over the left border of the Navigator - then the cursor will turn into a resize cursor and you can drag the border and make the Navigator panel smaller by enlarging the source list.
Or drag the lower right corner of the iPhoto window and shrink the appliaction window. This will only make the navigator smaller - the source list and information panel will stay the same size.
