None of the ports are working

The headphone jack is not working, I will plug it in and the music will continue to come from the speakers.
The USB port charges the tablet, but it won't connect the tablet to the computer.
Ever since I updated there was a sd card error that kept popping up saying there was no sd card, but if I go into settings it's still there. I did a factory reset and everything is still not working. Can someone give me a solution or should I just return it?

    Try a reboot:  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for about 10 seconds (ignore the red slider) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad wil restart.

    I was using my phone and it was working perfectly. 
    Suddenly, the when I'd press a key it would type something different. For example, id press delete and it would type "cz" and i would press another letter and it would do something completely different, like type 5 random letters at once. At one point, (this was the most unusual) i pressed a letter and the camera turned on. when I pressed the red button (the one to hang up), it would take a picture. 
    I turned it on and off a million times (taking out the battery as well) and it didnt work.
    Then about 2 hours later, none of the keys work. Not on the keyboard or the side of the phone and the scroll ball doesnt move anything. The only thing that does work is when i press the scroll ball, but it types the letter "x" or "2" and sometimes both. I cant answer or dial. I can handle no texting for a while, but i cant even dial, or answer phone calls. 
    What do i do?? 

    Those are classic symptoms of moisture damage to the keyboard.

    My 8830 seem to be locked out... Tried all keyboard combinations (* + Send, Alt + Enter, Held 'A') even taking battery out... None of the keys (and buttons) work, just the track ball... I even have to plug and unplug power cable to turn the screen on... Please advise... Thanks

    I've had a simular situation where the trackball wasn't working. I'd be interested to see how your issue is resolved.

    You can't disable the password.  If you could, what would be the point of having one?

    Since upgrading to iOS 6, sound is not working on my iPhone 4S. The phone ring works but nothing else, including Siri.

    My wife's phone had similar symptoms, at least with the text notification alert not working.  I have narrowed it down to happening after we use the new navigation feature in the Maps.  When we power the phone off and back on, the alert sound seems to return.  I haven't tried just "killing" the Maps app after we use it...perhaps that would work as well.

    also, i should mention that the home button on this phone is BROKEN permanently.  hasn't worked in months.  i've been using the floating on-screen home button, but since the screen is unresponsive that does me no good at the moment.  also, although itunes recognizes the phone i cannot restore it because it says i need to change my icloud settings on the phone first before i can.  but again, i cannot access any features of the phone whatsoever.  i just need to turn it off and turn it back on again.  but like i said, with a broken home button that appears to be impossible.  when i hold down the lock/power button for 10 seconds to attempt a restart it does nothing.  i really have no idea what to do.  HELP!

    Hi, tried the Apple fix, installing the OSX combo update followed by the Safari update followed by the security update, nothing.
    Tried the thing where you toss the mail program in the trash and then install the security update, nothing.
    Is there anyone else who has a problem even after all trhe fixes suggested here and in Apple support?

  • Space Designer -- none of the presets are working!  they are grayed out

    I am using a dual core iMac with logic 8 totally updated version but I've been having this problem with space designer and possibly a couple of the other logic played in effects. When I tried to pull up a preset it goes up a search for box I'm going to applications support/logic/played in settings and I tried to select the desired preset that it is asking for and I find that it is there but it is grayed out and it does not load up. Presently I can only use the default effect. Does anyone know how to fix this? This is frustrating!

    That is correct your 4th gen iPod can't run any newer then 6.1.6
    If you wish use apps that require iOS 8 then you need a newer iPod that is capable of running it

    Blessings to those who are able to reply with possible answers.   I am sorry....but I have spent days working on getting my two USB ports to work also.  I basically use the USB ports for a wireless mouse and various flashdrives/memory sticks.  I have a MacBook Pro 2011 Snow Leopard 10.6.8  I have tried software update, SMC and PRAM resets, battery reset, hardware test, creating a new user account....and browsing and reading numerous discussion boards.....awgh!  I have stopped short of using my install DVD (fear of loosing data), upgrading to Lion or Mountain Lion (some fear of loosing an application that might not be compatible), contacting an Apple Store (AppleCare or whatever--live 2 hours away + fear of expense), and of course, trashing the laptop.  Does anyone out there have any possible solutions?   I see I am not alone.  --A frustrated first-time Apple products owner.

    First, make sure caps lock is not on.
    Another reason why the password might not be recognized is that the keyboard layout (input source) has been switched without your realizing it. You can select one of the available layouts by choosing from the flag menu in the upper right corner, if it's showing, or cycle through them by pressing the key combination command-space or command-option-space.     If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password. In OS X 10.10 and later, this option also works with FileVault, but only if you enabled it when you activated FileVault. It's not retroactive. Otherwise, see below.
    Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead these instructions.
    Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities window appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
    from the menu bar at the top of the screen—not from any of the items in the OS X Utilities window.

    That procedure eventually leads you to the need to restore it.
    Make sure you are following the instructions in this procedure to the letter. Here they are, with emphasis on some easily overlooked requirements:
    Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release only the Sleep/Wake button.
    Continue pressing and holding the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.Note: If you see the "low battery" screen, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
    Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears (iTunes icon and USB connector) release the Home button.

    If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. Be patient since it sometimes takes several of these attempts before you are successful.

    Select the iPad in iTunes and choose "restore from backup". This assumes you have a backup. If you do not, you will have to download all your purchased iTunes content again. You do not have to pay for anything you already purchased.
    If you still can't get it to work, you have done all you can and only Apple will be able to help.

  • None of the demo is working

    Fellow developers, I got this application installed after all on Windows XP. It automatically set up some port numbers. I am able to use one why the other retruns error message - Page not found.
    Then none of the demo is working - A critcal look at the Apache conf file did not indicate any directive pointing to the portal, wireless etc demos.
    Is there any work around this.
    Now that this is installed and at least few pages working what next? How do I get into other applications in the system.

    Sounds like you have never had Captivate training.
    Click Boxes are transparent by their very nature. There is nothing you need to do to "hide" them from your user. The "Visible" check box is there so you can hide them from the Flash Player at runtime. For example, maybe you have a Click Box that should only become "clickable" once the learner performs an action. So you would toggle off visibility then using Advanced Actions you would turn visibility back on and make it become clickable.

    Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
    button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    -Next would be to restore the iPod from backup via iTunes
    - Last would be to restore you iPod to factory defaults/new iPod via iTunes since there may be corruption that is in your backup.
