Noob looking  to learn.

I've been an Adobe user since DW3 and PS5. I've mastered Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Audition, Fireworks, & I've learned my way around in Illustrator, and Flash. I've had Premiere, OnLocation, AfterEffects and Prelude in CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS6.
I haven't done much with any of them other than opening them up, learning menus, and updating them when necessary. I know how to import MP4 files into Premiere CS6. I openly admit I'm lost after that. I've never done "raw" video editing.
I have a Mac Mini. It's a late 2012 with 2.5gHz Corei5, and 16Gb RAM. I use dual monitors. I've got a Logitech C920 HD webcam and a Canon HD Camcorder. I also have a Windows 8 PC but I can't stand that OS and prefer to work on the Mac. I'm starting to get video requests from clients now that they're aware of my new hardware.
Is there a good illustrated tutorial someone could recommend, or would I be better off signing up for the Lynda.com CS6 course?
I've done Lynda.com for Fireworks, Flash, Photoshop and Dreamweaver, and they were really helpful, but if there's a good text tutorial for less, I'm open to that too.

There are 110 very good video tutorials here that might help. Free.

  • Looking to learn SCM

    Hi,
I am looking to learn SAP SCM, I dont have any knowledge regarding this except knowledge in MM, SD and PP.
I would like to know Is prior knowledge required in BW?
Is any body having Step-by-step materials or books available?

    Hello,
I started to learn SCM DP/SNP without any knowledge of BW
As replied by Hari, it denpends on what do you want to use -- DP, SNP, PPDS, GATP, ICH, ...?
DP is more relevant to R/3 demand management, like PP-DEM, PP-SOP, LO-LIS-PLN.
SNP/PPDS is more relevant to R/3 production planning, like PP-MRP ...
Your R/3 knowledge is definately useful here, but to understand some concepts of SCM, maybe it's better to attend some sessions, since the materials may not be easy to understand.
    Best Regards,

What earlier versions support 64 bit???  (looking to learn the earliest version)
Thank you very much for your help.

I was running an older version on an older computer.  The computer I picked up 1 year ago is 64 bit and the older version does not work on the 64 bit.  The older computer just died and I can not afford the new version.
I am hoping to buy an older version that works on 64 bit.
The work I do is simple so older version works just fine.

  • Flash Hobbyist Looking for Learning Suggestions

I need some direction. I can animate pretty well using flash,
but I have limited knowledge of actionscript and a terrible
understanding of integrating Flash based content into web pages.
The only way of using flash that I know of is to create a
single movie and then upload the entire movie into the site.... but
I have become increasingly aware of sites that use little bits of
flash splashed around their pages. I have also become increasingly
aggravated by the lack of information there is on building a flash
movie the right way. I know how to use buttons to initiate actions
and how to navigate a movie, but I also know that I am doing way
more work than I should be just to get a movie to interact with
itself (trust me on that one).
Anyway, my question is.... where can I find some real
information on this subject. I am way passed the motion tweening
tutorials that teach you how to move a circle across the stage and
then, in the "advanced" tutorial, teach you how to pause and play
    the animation.
I am looking for anything that really dives into advanced
techniques. I bought "Flash CS3: The Missing Manual" a few months
ago and did not learn one thing. Someone, please point me in the
right direction. Books, online pay courses, the best forums....
whatever. I feel like I am completely lost as to what the next step
might be, and I don't want to buy another book that's not going to
take me where I want to go.

  • I am looking to learn how jax-ws handle attachments, specially for a sample

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post.
Its some days that i try to create a pair of client and a web service that could handle attachments (I must use Jax-WS ) but i can not find any document that show how to create the service itself.
All Sun tutorials and samples just show the clinet side and not the server side of the problem.
can some one please help me about this?
whether by giving some links, sample code or hint that tell me what should i do in service side.
    Thanks

If you start with a WSDL do the following:
    * use the WS-I swaRef type in the XML schema,
    * use multiPartRelated in WSDL for input and/or output
The wsdl2java tool (wsimport from Sun or wsdlc from Bea) than generates a class taking a DataHandler argument which wrappes your attachment.
BTW, by far the easiest tool to start with is NetBeans with Enterprise Bundle. It has Wizard support for JavaEE5 Ears and deploys to SJSAS or Glassfish like a charme. With Bea the things IMHO are more complicated.

  • Visual Basic TCPControl Help - I've Searched, Looked and Learn But not exactly getting it right - Please Help

Simple Card Game - that works
Now want to give it Multiplayer Functinality
Also I am confused, how do I get the client to get information sent from my server to it, since it is not listening (and store it into a string)
I really just want a bare bones code to
have A Master Server that Can recieve Multiple Connections
That Master Server Needs to be able to get messages from each user connected to it
The Master Server Needs to be able to send Messages to each user connected to it
each user (client) needs to be able to recieve and show messages recieved from the master server!
That really sums it up - I need to stream line the network code.  I need to focus on the actual card game itself!
    Please Help!!!!
1 - Player will start their game (client)
2 - The client will connect to the server
3 - Master Server Accepts the Connect
4 - The Client will automatically send their login info as a string to the Master Server
5 - Master Server Will check the string and get user info - if the Info is correct then the Master Server will send a message to the Client as a string letting it know it is connected
6 - Master Server Will give that player a UniqueID
7 - Master Server Will put Player in a list as An Available Player
    8 -
    9 - Now
    10 -
11 - Player 2 will start their game (client)
12 - The client will connect to the server
13 - Master Server Accepts the Connect
14 - The Client will automatically send their login info as a string to the Master Server
15 - Master Server Will check the string and get user info - if the Info is correct then the Master Server will send a message to the Client as a string letting it know it is connected
16 - Master Server Will give that player a UniqueID
17 - Master Server Will put Player2 in a list as An Available Player
    18 -
19 - Now since there are 2 players
    20 -
21 - The 2 players are removed from the Available Player List
    22 -
23 - Master Server will randomly pick a player 1 to go first
24 - Master Server Sends Message to Player to take turn (as a string code)
25 - Player 1 plays a card - the card info is sent as a string to the master server
26 - The Master Server then sends the Player 1 info to Player 2
27 - Player 2 Client gets the info from the master server that contains the card info from player 1
28 - Player 2 plays their card and the information is sent to the master Server
    29 -
    30 - Until
    31 -
32 - One of the players is considered a winner
33 - At that Time the Server will Record Player 1 as winner or loser and Player 2 as winner or looser
34 - Now The 2 Players are put back onto the available players list
Now this is where I am stuck.

I suggest you search the net until you find something that sounds like it may be able to do what you want to do.
    Like this link from CodeProject
C# \ VB .NET Multi-user Communication Library (TCP).
Although for the server to work I suppose it will need to be on a machine which has a public internet IP address or perhaps port forwarding would need to be used or dynamic dns. Things which may cost extra or not be available from your ISP.

  • Jaggies on playback after capture.  Noob needs help

I am shooting in 1080i with a Canon HV30 (the default mode).
When I capture with either 1080i(50i) or 1080i(60i) mode on Premiere, the playback is not smooth. Watching clips you can see jaggies at the edges of objects, especially if there is motion.
If I plug the camera directly into my TV, all is well - very clear video. What am I doing wrong?
I'm a total noob looking up at the learning curve right now. I just loaded CS3 on my machine yesterday.
    Zach

I'd recommend first start by using only the correct capture settings, either PAL (50i) or ATSC (60i). Use whichever is correct for your footage.
Secondly, seeing those jaggies is probably normal when viewing in the program monitor. The real test will be after exporting to a Blu-ray disk and watching on your HDTV. How does it look there?

  • Looking for intermediate skill level short course (1 - 2) days in Melbourne (Australia)

    Hi Everyone,
I am relatively new to writing SQL queries, and do not consider myself to be a natural.
Late last year I studied a Unit called 'Introduction to Database Design' at Deakin University. This unit reflected the broad ANSI standard SQL (during theoretical studies), and Oracle SQL Plus (during practical studies). I did quite well in the unit, and now
have a thorough understanding of the basic SQL concepts such as JOINs, UNIONs, etc.
This year I find myself working specifically with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2, and related T-SQL syntax within my occupation. More specifically the company that I work for uses SAP Business One, and the underlying infrastructure at my work is MS SQL Server
    2008 R2.
I would like to study some more SQL formally! My boss will probably back me in attending a one / two day course that deals specifically with T-SQL.
I am ideally looking to learn some 'intermediate' skills, such as CTEs, and Pivots. However performance of the SQL Server itself (such as Load Balancing, and Tuning) does not interest me.
     I live in the
Melbourne (Australia) and would like to find a suitable course in the CBD or surrounding suburbs.
If anybody can suggest any courses / course providers that are very good at teaching in my area can you please share. Finally my budget would probably be somewhere between $600 to $1000 for the course, but if the course comes with high recommendations I might
be able to budget a little higher.
Any help and or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
    Kind Regards,
    David

    Hi David,
According to your description, you are going to find some T-SQL courses near to Melbourne Australia, right?
Since we are not in Australia, it's hard to give you the exact courses about T-SQL in Melbourne. However, you can learn it online. Here are some useful links about CTE and Pviots, please refer to the links below.

  • Looking for a book that would teach me Java from the ground

Hi! I'm a high school student looking to learn a lot about Java Programming. I'm taking Computer Science III right now and I took Computer Science I last school year (My school don't offer Computer Science II). However, my Comp. Sci. I teacher was really bad and barely taught us, this resulted in a lot of people failing that class. So, I barely know anything about Java Programming and I'm slowly starting to understand it a bit by bit in Comp. Sci. III class. I thought it would be helpful if I purchased a book about Java and study on my own at home in addition to learning at school. Does anyone know a good book that teachers the basics of Java and beyond? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

"Head First in Java" book I've heard is highly recommended. I wouldn't suggest certification books since in my opinion they are for developers who have taken several programming classes and are preparing to pad their resumes with certifications for jobs
. You can go to the bookstore to see if its the book you want, then order it on-line a lot cheaper (www.amazon.com). After reading it, you have it on your bookshelf for reference (the index helps a lot to re-locate information). After you compile and run a few programs from the DOS command line, I would suggest downloading Eclipse Europa (search google for it). Its a free development environment many professional developers use. You'll have to install JDK first (its free, search google for it).
If you want to eventually develop web applications, here are the books I would recommend (I dont expect you to read them until you're in college, but it gives you some idea):
    HTML
    JSP
    Servlets
    JDBC
    SQL
    Javascript
