Noob question part 2, I DL the App Handcent ..

when I click new message, my contacts come up but I cant check any to send a new text. How do I send texts using Handcent? Thanks for any info.

Are you trying to click on the name or the check box to the left of the name? If you click the checkbox, it should work. Then just hit the back button to get to the message. You can also type the person's name in the To: field and it should list numbers for that person and allow you to select one.

Hi, I bought the new Itouch 5 recently, i'm just wondering how can i delete the applications in the "Updates" tab at the lower right part when you open the App Store? Try turning off & on your iPod (sorry if that sounds dumb, but it might work)
Or, since that's a matter of not refreshing, turn off your wifi& reconnect

I think you need to reset those questions. You'll need to call the tech support for your country, ask to be connected to the Account Security Team and then ask if they can reset the questions for you.

I can't download apps! Every time I try, it asks me to chose a security question and I try, but I just comes up with a blank screen and I can't choose a question. If I click no, I don't want to put security questions, it doesn't install the app. HELP!

I can't do it! I am willing to add questions but I can't because it just shows me a blank screen. I even tried rebooting my entire iPad2 and that didn't work. I know it is not a certain app because I tried multiple ones.... HELP!

Hi all! I have found the answer in another forum and this has 100% worked for me!!!
1) Quit App Store in multi-tasking.
•From the Home screen, click the Home button twice.
•Tap and hold on the app.
•When it starts to jiggle, tap the red ⛔ in the top corner to close it;
***Please close all open apps on your phone***
2) Tap Settings.
3) Tap Safari.
4) Tap Clear History.
5) Tap the Clear History button.
6) Tap Clear Cookies and Data.
7) Tap the Clear Cookies and Data button

Question about AppleScript, iTunes and the app Proximity...

So I have this application Proximity, which uses bluetooth's proximity to the cpu to run both an out-of-range script and and in-range script. I'm currently using it to activate my screensaver with password lock and vice versa. I'm also using it to sync my Bluetooth phone via iSync. Finally, I'm using it to pause and pause/play iTunes when I come and go from the cpu. The problem I was having was that if I had iTunes closed the script would still open it and then play the first tune. If iTunes is closed I don't want it to start playing. I came up with a workaround, but it seems a little sloppy. Here is what I came up with, but I want to make it as seamless and clean as possible. This is a script for when I enter the proximity of the cpu. If it's in a paused state it will play. If it's in a stopped state (it will quit) or closed from the get go, iTunes will open then subsequently quit.

If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click "iTunes Store" in the left navigation pane. Click the "down arrow" next to your name at the top right side of the page and click "Account." Enter your username and password and click "View Account" to log into your account information. Next to your Payment Type, click "Edit." Select the "None" button and click "Done." Confirm that your card has been removed by returning to the Apple account information screen. Noob question here . how do you delete apps?

I long press, it lights up, then throw into "Remove". After I do that, I check if its deleted and it still shows up. Any help is appreciated.

That just deletes the app from your homescreen. You need to either a) open the app drawer and go into Settings->Applications->Manage Applications, select the app you want to remove and hit uninstall or b) go into the market, hit the menu button, choose downloads, find your application and hit uninstall

A question about backend of creating the app with Xcode

I'm a new iphone developer who just started to learn how to create iphone apps.
I just started to learn about view-based applications.
When I select view-based applications, XCode will automatically generate some files for me.
For example, if a create a new project called "A", XCode will generate files like "AViewController.m", "AAppDelegate.m", and "main.m".
but I don't see anywhere in those files where it's actually creating the instance of "AViewController" or "AAppDelegate".
So at where and at which file are the instances of "AViewController" and "AAppDelegate" created?
Also where is the instance of the main application created?(not A.app if you know what I mean)

Open MainWindow.xib and make sure the xib window is visible by selecting Document from the Windows menu. NOOB Question - Cannot seem to get the output in a text or CSV file - Please help!!

I was able to put together a script which finds members of a certain AD group, filters down the users, and then calculates the number of days till a password reset is needed. I am able to get on screen exactly what i am looking for, but cannot seem
to figure out how to get the same data to a file. What i am doing wrong? two goals here:
1. Create a spreadsheet with a list of users whose password is about to expire.
2. Down the line automate an email to users whose password is about to expire.
Here is my code:

Hi Matt,
I generally create an empty array (something like $out = @()) at the top of the script and then use $out += $desiredOutput inside of the foreach loop.
Outside of the loop, you can then pipe $out to Out-File or Export-Csv, depending on your needs.

Noob Question: Move a layer in the opposite direction of a different animated layer

So say that I have an icon that I animate on the Y-axis +40px, but instead of trying to hand key the other layer each time, is there an expression I can write to have the other layer move in the opposite Y direction the same amount of units (ex: -40px)?

You have to define what the y movement is relative to. For example, if you want one layer to mirror another layer's y movement since the first frame, you could do it like this:
p = thisComp.layer("leader").transform.position;
value + [0,p.valueAtTime(0)[1] - p[1]]
If you want to mirror it around a particular reference y value, it would be like this:
yRef = 540;
p = thisComp.layer("leader").transform.position;
value + [0,yRef - p[1]]
There are other variations/interpretations--it depends on what you're after exactly.

Click onto the Desktop, select Preferences from the Finder menu. Click on the General icon in the toolbar. Check the boxes for the items you want displayed. Click on the Sidebar icon in the toolbar and configure what is displayed in the sidebar.

Why does the side scroll in the app store drop down?

Hey everyone,
I figured I'd post a question in relation to something that has been nagging me...
Everytime I go to the app store and review the scrollable screen shots on the details tab, the screen drops down after each pic.
Is this a iPhone 4S thing after the iOS 6.## due to the larger screen on the iPhone 5 or is this a glitch within the app store?

The general answer is to go to the app store, log in to the Apple ID you used to purchase the apps (or if they came with a new system the AID you registered it with) and go to purchased apps and download

How To Create A Re-Installable Version Of Aperture 3 From The App Store?

Another question regarding Aperture 3 and the App Store.
In the FAQ section of the Apple site it says this:

We recommend backing up the contents of your Mac regularly, including photos, purchased movies, TV shows, and apps, to ensure that you can easily recover them in the event of a loss. If you need to recover a previously purchased app from the Mac App Store, you can redownload it if it is still available."
The important bit for me is... "if it is still available".
So... having bought the software... that I own, I can only install / reinstall it for as long as Apple keep it in the App Store. I'm pretty sure Aperture 3 will disappear as soon as Aperture 4 appears, so are we all only ever locked into effectively RENTING the software with the ability only to re-install for a limited duration? (Rhetorical).
Therefore my question is:
How can I create a re-installable version, so that if I need to re-install Aperture, but it's no longer available in the App Store, then I can still re-install the software that I've bought and that I own?

The App Store also says you can use the app on another computer merely by copying it to another machine. I believe people here have had success in doing that. I believe you can back up that Aperture app package and just drop it back in to the new computer, but I've never had the cause to do such a thing. The app is all you would need to "reinstall", although it isn't truly an installation program at that point. On the other hand, other people have not had success in doing that.

hello i have a question, in the content viewer i can zoon the folio with my fingers in and the image looks pixelated, my question is : when i export the app it will alow to zoom with the finger or is just in the content viewer.

There's a setting in app builder you can turn off to disable zoom for iOS. We do not support disabling this setting on Windows or native Android.
