  • Unable to have my dell laptop and a Nook Reader access my  Apple Extreme Guest network

I have an AE base station (DHCP) to which my Dell desktop (windows Vista) is connected wirelessly via guest network (WPA2). However, both my newer dell laptop (Windows 7) and a Nook Reader cannot. They both see the guest network in the list of available networks but somehow they cannot access the guest network. I have an Imac and an ipad that use the primary network with no problem. Is there a specific setting I have to have on the AE base station? Thanks, any help would be appreciated!
    Jojo

Have you gone into the Iphone extreme app and set up a passcode for the guest network  AND also set it up as a WPA2 encription.  I beleive BOTH the main passcode and guestpasscode have to be the same security setting ( WPA/WPA2 personal OR just WPA2 personal.

  • Bought book wont open in my Nook reading tablet

    Hi,
I recently bought (or so I thought) J.K Rowlings "A casual vacancy" at IBooks. Then I moved the book from my Macbook Air to my reading device Nook. It did not look ok because the cover was blank and did not show the right picture. Then when I clicked on the book it did not open... which means that it is not there. I tried to transfer the book again, the result was the same. No book - no contents. There is a picture of a book, but it is not the right one. Can anyone help me?
    Sincerely,
    jm0010

Ok but I´ve also transferred a free book from ITunes and that worked ok... The few books I´ve managed to load on to my Nook and read all end with .epub, and that format works fine with Nook (including the free book from iTunes).
I should´ve written that I bought Rowling´s book from iTunes, not iBooks... Does that matter?

  • Transfering books from reader to nook

i downloaded the reader and can transfer books into it but it wont transfer the books onto my nook  gives me an error

I assume you're probably trying to this on an iPad. You'll need to go into iTunes to export PDFs to your computer, then you can import them into the Nook.

  • HELP!!! I Can't Authorize My Nook

I've tried everything posted on this site to get my nook authorized to read the books from the public library.
I deleted Adobe and relaunched it,but it still won't authorize my device. Any advice would be helpful. I'm ready to return it,
but it's for my daughter. I have the Nook Color and it works just fine with it.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Is ADE seeing your Nook? (eg showing in left side pane of ADE)
The Nook may have got half-authorised.
Try to clear any old Nook authorization with Nook plugged in and ctrl-shift-E to ADE in Library view (cmd-shift-E on Mac).
Restart ADE and try again to authorize the Nook.

  • Problem getting images in ePub to appear correctly for Nook

I have been working on a book that is about 250 pages long in print format, with about 350 photographs that illustrate the text, which is a guide to the use of a particular digital camera model. After watching Anne-Marie Concepcion's course at Lynda.com and also using the book by Sandee Cohen and Diane Burns, Digital Publishing with Adobe InDesign CC, I was able to export the book successfully in ePub and mobi formats. The ePub looks fine in iBooks and the mobi looks fine in the Kindle apps. But I have not been able to get the images to appear properly when I preview the ePub for the Nook. I have tried every combination of export and conversion settings I could think of, but the images either look too large and distorted as if squeezed, or, if I use the CSS Size-Fixed option, the images look tiny, much too small to see details (though they will expand if clicked on).  I eventually uploaded it through Nookpress.com to see if their conversion would help, but the book recently went on sale there, and when I downloaded it to check, the images did not appear at all. The same thing happens when I use the Preview function at the nookpress.com site; the screen shows broken link icons for all images.
I cannot think of anything else to do.  Can anyone provide me with any suggestions for how to proceed, short of hiring an expert?  Most of the images are 1800 pixels wide and roughly 1200 pixels tall in the InDesign document, with a resolution of 600 ppi. As noted above, I have tried all different combinations of the Use Existing Image for Graphic Objects, Preserve Appearance from Layout, CSS Size-Fixed, CSS Size Relative to Text Flow, and others, with no success.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Here is a link to a Dropbox folder that has the file I uploaded to Nook Press. In this one, the images don't show up all:  Dropbox - Panasonic Lumix LX100 Version for Nook

Okay, thanks. That was helpful. I ran the file though Epubcheck and it did find various errors.  I have replaced that file with another file that does not result in errors, but does generate a lot of warnings, all about having image file names with spaces in them. I'm assuming that's not what is causing the problem with the way the images display.  The file that is in the Dropbox folder now is one that does show the images, but they appear distorted and too large when viewed on the Nook app on my Nexus tablet, but they look fine when viewed in iBooks on my Mac. Dropbox - Panasonic Lumix LX100 Version for Nook  I'm hoping there is some general information available about how to format images in an ePub so they will display properly on the Nook.

  • How can I install two Nook ereader apps on my iPad?

I want to install another Nook reader app on my iPad 2. It happened in my iPhone, but I don't know how.

IPad is not like a laptop computer. If the device you are trying to plug into an iPad is not iOS or iDevice compatible it will not work.
What version of iOS is your iPad2 using?
What device are you trying to use with your iPad?

  • If I buy a digital book in  EPUB size from a web site, how I may read it on my IPad? Specify that I didn't buy it from Apple Store.

If I buy a digital book in  EPUB size from a web site, how I may read it on my IPad? Specify that I didn't buy it from Apple Store.

First, epub has nothing to do with size, it is a file format that is popularly used for ebooks, but ebooks published in epub file formats vary greatly in file size.
It will depend on where you buy it.  Many books are DRM locked (Digital Rights Management, a software lock).  If so, in order to load it into another companies reader or reader software, you need to use something like Adobe Digital Editions to "authorize" the book on the device.  Apple's iBook software does not work with ADE.
If the book was DRM free, you should be able to read it in any ereader or ereader program that supports epub format.
If the book is DRM locked to B&N, Amazon, Kobo or whichever seller you shopped from, then the simples thing is to download their free app for the iPad (they all make one, in fact they all make free apps for iPad, Android, Mac OS X and Windows).
So the short answer is yes, you should be able to read any epub ebook file on an iPad, although not necessarily in iBook.
    So, books from
Amazon - get the Kindle reader app
B&N - get the Nook reader app
Kobo - get the Kobo reader app
non-DRM epubs can be read in iBook, Nook, Kobo, or Google Play

  • I just bought a used 1st gen iPad and I want to know if I can read books on it

I tried to download the I book app available but it only runs with iOS 7. I have ios5. Is there an older iBook app available to download or will ios6 or 7 work?

If you can't locate a compatible iBooks then the Nook App from Barnes and Noble will run on iOS 5.
Check the App Store App for Nook.
